Our go-to coffee spot in Carlsbad. The options are endless and open early, which isn't easy to find in a beach town. Not to mention, they have pup cups for your dog. I love the set up, signage, and atmosphere.

I had an iced pumpkin chai tea latte with a shot of caffeine - so delicious - my husband wished he had got that instead of his coffee. The restaurant was a bit dirty and so was the bathroom. But that shouldn’t deter you from going.

I live out of state and go to Better Buzz whenever I’m in town as much as possible! The hazelnut divinity is the best latte to ever exist. Their breakfast food and Pastries are also out of this world

Title: Fantastic first visit at Better Buzz Coffee I stopped by Better Buzz Coffee for my first visit and tried the Mango Buzz Energy Smoothie. The flavor was fantastic—bright, refreshing, and nicely balanced. Great value too, with a good-sized portion that left me feeling satisfied without being overwhelmed. The staff mentioned an avocado toast, and I decided to give it a try. It was absolutely wonderful—creamy avocado, nicely seasoned, and perfectly toasted bread. The staff member Haley was absolutely wonderful and made the experience even better. Overall, a standout experience. I’ll be back for sure and will recommend you visit to.

We go to a lot of coffee shops and wanted to share what we consider one of the BEST experiences we've ever had. We ordered a non-fat vanilla latte, a flat white and a pastry. The Latte was so rich, creamy and just a little sweet ... absolutely DELICOUS! Joe, the manager, came out where we were sitting so I asked him what kind of creamer they use and he said, "I'll be right back", went inside, got a bag of the most delicious powdered creamer I've ever tasted and shared how they use it in their coffees then offered the bag to us. He was really easy going, friendly, informative and wants his store there in Carlsbad to be the best place to buy a cup 'o Joe! My husband and I have both told this story to several people and we will definitely go back! Not only was Joe very friendly, but his entire staff was and the coffee shop was VERY clean and a great environment! We'll take friends the next time! :)

Ordered an iced matcha latte, sweeter than expected. I should have asked how many pumps of sugar they add and perhaps should have done half. Tasted the coconut latte it was sweet too but good. Overall drinks are good but if you don't like sweet drinks ask to modify the sweetness.

Smell a little coffee shop with a nice separated, indoor dining room with fantastic windows that can be lifted for a nice breeze, and nice decor/music. Small outdoor dining section. I have to admit, I am a Spiced Chai snob. My wife and I brew our own every weekend. So going out to coffee shops is always a challenge. I always have to order Chai "lite" or it will be overwhelmingly sweet. But Better Buzz does a good job. The people at the Carlsbad location are fantastic. The atmosphere is fun. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Fun SWAG.

I love coming here before going to the beach in Carlsbad or when I’m just walking around the village! I usually get an iced matcha with extra matcha and vanilla and its always refreshing and yummy :) Their outdoor seating area is perfect to do some homework and hang out!

Cute little coffee shop with a nice atmosphere. They offer many specialty drinks and snacks. We got the iced horchata and pumpkin spice latte. I added heavy cream to tone down my drink because it was a little sweet for me. The line was out the door when we got here, but it moved very quickly so we got our drinks within a few mins. There is also a little lounge area which has many seats available. The drinks were very flavorful and the service was good.

Usually a big Starbucks coffee drinker… But I do like to venture outside the box and try new and possibly good coffee shops. Now, I have had Better Buzz before, years and years ago in the mall. But, they have a great spot on Carlsbad Blvd near the beach. Has a delicious mocha latte. Order was taken by a friendly and courteous staff member and the drink came out in a timely manner. The inside was clean and inviting. They have an exterior window for easy order and pickup. Plenty of inside and outside seating. Free wifi and plug ins for your devices to be charged while you enjoy one of their tasty delectables. One of my new coffee spot go-to when in the area.

Adorable coffee shop right across the street from our hotel. Great energy and vibe, and the customer service is fantastic. The music was fun and the place felt lively. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Mexican mocha and it was delicious. I’m very picky about Mexican mochas and this was one of the best I’ve had. We also tried the ham and cheese croissant, the avocado feta toast (no tomatoes for the picky eaters in our group), and the OG açaí bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty. I came here the other day and was helped by a younger gentleman. I believe I overheard someone refer his name as Joe, and he put a smile on my face after saying “Enjoy your buzz” (I did enjoy it). It might've been a small and chucklesome action but it really brightened up my mood. I ended up getting a pastry as well later that night from a gentleboy named Zeke and he as well as his co-workers was all very kind and considerate to me. i stopped by this spot when i was on vacation. i’m a sucker for cute branding. i loved my cold brew with almond milk! do note that they have more options on the app then they do in store. for example: they didn’t have sugar free hazelnut, but they did have vanilla.

The service was slow and horrible. With a whole group of employees working inside, I expected my drink served a little quicker. We literally waited for over 20 mins for the drink after we had ordered it and found a place to stand around and wait. The cashier was polite and I cannot really comment on the atmosphere as we did not go inside the actual shop. Overall, the entire experience was just “OK.” Not a coffee shop you want to drive out of your way for or be returning for more. Just my humble opinion!

The weather was wonderful, and we opted to enjoy the weather 🌤️. Better Buzz is located near/in the Carlsbad Village, a fun place to drink coffee ☕. The parking lot is small, but we were able to park. I look forward to sipping another bold cup of coffee at Better Buzz Coffee.

Wifey and I visited this coffee shop while on vacation. The name piqued our interest and we decided to try it out. We ordered a vanilla bean iced latte, and the flavor was pretty good. The service was slow and horrible. With a whole group of employees working inside, I expected my drink served a little quicker. We literally waited for over 20 mins for the drink after we had ordered it and found a place to stand around and wait. The cashier was polite and I cannot really comment on the atmosphere as we did not go inside the actual shop. Overall, the entire experience was just “OK.” Not a coffee shop you want to drive out of your way for or be returning for more. Just my humble opinion!

Online ordering doesn't let you "skip the line". If they are busy, they don't adjust the time for pickup and you have to wait anyway. They don't time your food and coffee to come out at the same time, so you have to "excuse-me, excuse-me" up to the counter twice. No option to heat up baked goods when you order online, and if they are busy you have to wait again to get it heated. Ordering online was a waste of time. I don't love their coffee in general, and it doesn't feel like a place started for the love of coffee. Asked for extra hot, and it was warm. The temperature is as cold inside as it is outside. Two people up front, and several training in the back. Trainer comes up to get coffee and doesn't even pay attention to the fact that the waiting area is packed, but they sure got themselves some coffee. Customers are not first at Better Buzz.

Usually I’d give the food a 4 and the service a 4 as well. Unfortunately this visit was my worst to date. It took them 20 minutes to warm up a sandwich and make a hot americano. I wasn’t in a rush so I was ok going back n forth a couple of times waiting on the order and I appreciated that they’re busy (not Starbucks busy) but I still appreciate that a local brand can be overwhelmed with a few extra orders. I still support the brand and want to see it grow. My biggest disappointment was the coffee. Now that’s important… I don’t choose a coffee shop just for the vibes or location, coffee matters. I wasn’t expecting my americano to be overflowing with no creme the way it looks in the photo.

I asked for little cream. They put so much cream my "killer bee" was cold. I had actual ice cream with more coffee flavor. My wifes best drink ever was so hot it burnt my tounge and was quite good. The food alright but nothing we saw justified the line out the door

Kandy was amazing even under the pressure of a long line and a lot of people waiting. Seems there’s an issue with corporate not hiring enough people. I would give 5 stars just for her but lowered it to 3 since there should be more staff to help her.

Waited for about 30 min for two cortados and when the order finally came it was two latte sized coffees with a “cortado” sticker on them. When I pointed out those were not cortados, the barista immediately agreed and said “normally they are equal parts espresso and coffee.” “Ok, right. I ordered two cortados.” Thankfully they remade them pretty quickly, but it was a twilight zone moment. The coffee was good. But I won’t be back.

Ordered an iced orange matcha latte and a dirty lavender latte.The matcha latte hashardly any matcha in it (the cup was as white after it was stirred) tastes like sugary coconut milk. The lavender latte didn’t have the espresso shot I requested (I’m walking to another coffee shop to get one as I write) and it tastes more like milk than tea. Was expecting a full body drink with depth. I feel like I was cheated with the ingredients given price paid and I know they can do better.

Came in at 5: 30am to do some work and requested for the heat to be turned, on they said they would see if they could then proceeded to turn on the air conditioner. They think anybody needing a dedicated workspace is homeless and treat them as such even as a customer. Their main goal is to get you in and out, not to give you an experience.. I understand to an extent but why even have seating? I can say this about both the ocean side and Carlsbad location. Last time I sat down to do some work I was asked what I was working on and why I was there by the goth girl manager.

The pistachio croissant is so good! My daughter enjoyed her drink and avocado toast. My smoothie was mid. Both of the girls working were stuck up, but then again we are in California so it’s to be expected I suppose. The store is cute but the bathroom was disgusting.

They couldn't sell me 2 medium size coffees. She had to charge me for a large but put it in a medium size cup. What????

This is my least favorite coffee place in Carlsbad. I've been here multiple times and waited 10-20 minutes for a latte or have to follow up on my order because they never made it. The lattes also aren't consistent. Sometimes they are scalding hot or half foam. The design of the building is also not well thought out. Even a small line blocks the entry/exit and there is not much room to wait for a drink without being in someone's way.

Not sure what's going on lately with the Better Buzz in Carlsbad and Escondido, but when we have stopped by in recents weeks they have had the chairs up an hour in advance of closing, creating a sense of being closed and / or a very uninviting atmosphere. First I was told they couldn't make a certain hot drink with the topping I requested and then once it was ultimately served, it was the drink I originally asked to have made. Then when I went to use the bathroom right at closing time, with customers still ordering drinks, I was told I couldn't use the restroom before I left because they were closed.?. Our family has been happily going to both Escondido and Carlsbad for years, watched staff come and staff go, but lately these two locations give more of a vibe of stay away versus "come in, we're open for business". I get that hourly employees want to be sure to close on time, but putting up chairs, sweeping floors, wiping down tables an hour early is definitely a model message that doesn't encourage repeat customers, promote sustainability or growth. Hopefully this recent trend of appearing closed early is only a very short lived trend due to new or a recent "not so good", but correctable change in management/leadership...

These drinks were absolutely disgusting. Both of them tastes super watered down and have no flavor what so ever. I called to explain the situation and the person I spoke to was trying to sound super condescending and was laughing the entire time. As well as didn’t filled the drink to the top. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

The manager on duty shouldn't be asking what "purpose a customer has being there" and what "work" they do while there... If it's my fav coffee shop and I wanna buy a coffee and sit for 4 hours, I should be able to do that without being hassled by an overly nosy goth 25 year old.

Done with Better Buzz. It's a corporate franchise, the coffee is all syrup, I prefer large cold brews and I will pay extra for it from other places. But a $10, all ice & syrup coffee isn't me. The reward system is a scam also. I just earned a free coffee and went for my usually large cold brew and it was ineligible for the reward. So... I'm done with it. Keep my reward and not my money anymore.

Came in just trying to place a simple coffee order and joe (who was taking my order) was extremely persistent and made me a little uncomfortable. I just wanted a plain iced latte and he kept pushing for me to get a large, add a shot, change the milk, try this pastry, buy this sandwich etc. Like dude, enough is enough! Just let me order what I want and stop trying to shove the more expensive items down my throat. This place used to feel so homey and local and now it just feels like another corporate coffee shop. I will not be back.

I must say the building atmosphere is very nice..but the iced coffee was trash at this location 😕 I've been to many Better Buzz coffee shops and they did not disappoint .....but this one was just no bueno...which disappointed me cause I was looking forward to my buzz..... Baristas something needs to change ....y'all need to kick it with the syrup....it tasted like y'all made me a cup of syrup and oat milk...like where's the coffee.....let's make it better!!

Came in around 11:30-12 for lunch and was greatful for very excellent food and service although a mothers child threw up in the lobby and made one of the baristas clean the mess while the other was forced to make drinks. Too my surprise by herself. Why is a location so understaffed at this time of day i work as a manager for starbucks and even my stores are never understaffed and in the small cases of being understaffed we are most times allowed to close early. This seems very unfair to the workers that are left alone at the store suffering their mental over work.
