Opinions de The Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe Carlsbad
Josie is the best. Ask for her for a fantastic experience. We ordered the spinach Egg with home fries, waffels, the fish and chips special and a whole apple pie. The fish special will melt in your mouth. The Cole slaw is very fresh and creamy. The tarter sauce tastes home made. The spinach egg is seasoned well and the home fries are a hit. The waffle was made to perfection. You will not go wrong. Just stop by and eat.
Very kind accommodating staff! Great banana cream pie!
Great breakfast place! Our party was seated quickly and our order was taken very soon after. Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy, spinach scramble, and the Carlsbad omelet. Our party had no complaints about the taste or portions!
We went 2 days in a row because the first visit was so good. The potato pancakes, the skillets, and the pie were delicious. They also have awesome breakfast deals until 1030 am for $10 or less. If you can get a window or patio seat it's even better. We'll be back in the fall.
I am so in love with this place! The staff is so wonderful! They and the delicious home cooking just makes my day. The Cherry Pie was heavenly. The Peanut Butter Pie, Chocolate PB and Chocolate Raspberry are also amazing. And the cookies are a surprise for me. They are crispy and not the kind I usually like, but wow are they addicting. Everything we try is a new favorite! I love the BLTA, the Palomar Airport Chicken Salad Sandwich, the burgers, the chili, the fries and onion rings. Pancakes, sausage, Chicken Fried Steak...This food makes my Soul happy. ;) Thanks to the hardworking Chefs! And thanks everyone! I can't wait to return.
Great local favorite. Old school dinner feel, friendly atmosphere and good service
Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe is a cozy spot with friendly service and tasty comfort food. Breakfast is hearty, the portions are big, and everything feels homemade. The real highlight is the pie—flaky crust, rich filling, and lots of flavors to choose from. A great place to enjoy a good meal and dessert.
We took our visting friends here and had a great breakfast 4/10/23. Just wanted to say thank you to our waitress. I accidently I left my credit card . Our waitress tracked us down at the Von's shopping center across the street to return my card. This was above and beyond an act of customer service. Great place, great customer service.
I ordered slice of apple pie and oreo pie. Blueberry muffins and cinnamon roll. The employee suggested the blueberry slice pie. My boyfriend got bag of cookies and loaf of banana bread too.
Wonderful Restaurant & Pie Shop....it is family owned. Help are all friendly, and very nice, and food is down-home cooking, and very generous portions. Pies are delicious, and have other fresh bakery foods, such as corn bread, fresh sour dough bread, cinnamon rolls, all kinds of wonderful muffins, and many other yummy fresh bakery goods. Customer service is excellent. Prices are very reasonable. They just re-modeled as well, and have a very homey patio.
Delicious comfort food with great prices. I've had their key lime, lemon merengue, and chocolate coconut cream pie, all delicious so I'm now set in trying all their pies.
I absolutely loved this place! 1. They have actual real flowers at the table. 2. The food was just delicious 3. The staff was super friendly. I ordered the fish and chips- which I made the fries into garlic fries. Both the "chips" and fish were cooked perfectly. Nice and crunchy/crispy on the outside and warm goodness on the inside. I will be honest when the fish was brought to the table I thought it would be dry. The outside was nice and crispy and the fish was nice and light and flaky. The coleslaw was very good and great balance to the dish. The pie was amazing! The Dutch apple was perfect flavor, not overly sweet at all. You must go there. Warning, servings are huge!
On 2/2/26, my partner & I re-visited Village Kitchen & Pie Shop, after a long hiatus. We enjoyed our 2 breakfasts-mine was the $17.99 Ham Steak & Eggs, & hers was the Ham & Egg Breakfast Special, for $10.95. The difference between each one was the Ham steak on mine, was twice as thick as the ham slice on her H & E Breakfast Special. Service was spot on. Our server worked really hard, keeping our coffees & water glasses refilled, plus she took the time, to heat up the Pecan Roll, which we split. Our server provided us with friendly, speedy & polite table service. Our breakfasts were delicious. When our forks stopped moving, not even the tiniest of crumbs was left, on either of our plates. My partner enjoyed her decaf coffee, & I powered down 3 cups of their regular coffee, which was tasty, as well. Service has improved here recently, which I'm glad to see, because I like this place.
Flew into Carlsbad airport for the day just to get away from the Scottsdale desert and get some breakfast. Village kitchen was right down the street and we decided to give it a try! The cinnamon rolls were hands down amazing and the polish skillet was huge and full of flavor. The service was great and the prices were reasonable! Definitely going back next time I’m in town! Thank you!
My go to place whenever I’m in the area. Never had a bad experience or meal. Generous portions and good service and always busy. Says a lot about the place and the management. 4 stars for ambience but only because of their desire to not change the appearance and because of how old the place is. Always very clean and that’s a big plus. Outstanding pies too.
Update 11/30/24 Brunch here this morning with my girls Crab egg Benedict was so good Friendly great service The place was packed Always appreciate a clean bathroom Out patio is dog friendly Original post- Great home cooking Tasty food Still good portions despite tough economy Great pies We drive from LA just to brunch here Wish the fried livers are back on the menu as they were not available the last two times we were there
If you've never been there, you've got to go. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Believe me the photos aren't doing them justice. I had pancakes, eggs and sausage patties. I haven't had a better breakfast(for lunch) anywhere else yet. You would not believe the size of those sausage patties (yes 2) they were almost as big as my hand. My husband had a Turkey plate. The turkey was moist, tender and smothered with gravy with ver stuffing, with cranberry sauce and he opted for onion rings over potatoes. It also came with a fresh vegetable medley. When you walk in they have all these delicious baked treats and the pies are huge. We had a slice of banana cream pie to go. We were stuffed. I could only eat half of my food. I'm sorry I didn't get a photo of the pie but I promise you'll love it. There's a pleasant atmosphere here . Everyone has a smile on their face and it wasn't crowded. There was a nice flow of traffic, lol. They have so much to offer on their menu. I will be returning again and again 😊❤️
The food was really good and not that expensive . Love the wide variety of food. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Really enjoy the homemade pies. Can't wait to go back.
WOW!🤗 that’s the first word that comes to mind when I think of the delicious bake goods that this amazing pie shoppe has. I walked in on an early Sunday morning and the place was busy with locals and us visitors. We happened to google it and it had great review so we gave it a try and I’m glad we did. The service is great, the place smells amazing and their pastries are delish 😋 my complements to the bakery chef 👏 everything we had was delicious. Thank you to the staff that moved efficiently to get us seated and served.
I was craving pancakes and crispy breakfast potatoes so I went to the VPS, everything was delicious especially the potatoes. The prices are still very reasonable and portion sizes haven’t shrunk like everyone else’s. The staff are all very accommodating and make your dining experience pleasurable.
The staff is friendly the place was packed there known for there delicious pies. I ordered creepes they were out of this world Soooo! GOOD I WAS AFRAID TO EAT FINISH IT...FOUND OUR THAT WHAT I ORDERED IS ONLY ON WEEKEN
Outstanding breakfast!!! We enjoyed the Quiche and Scramble along with the pecan roll and Banana Nut bread. Took 2 pies home along with more banana bread and a muffin.
Went here on a whim. So glad we did! The food was delicious and super filling. The dessert was soo good, pictures were forgotten. Pics of biscuit and gravy and Raceway (open faced sandwich with potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce.) The waiter was excellent and was right on our beverages when they were getting low. My family and I would definitely eat here again if we are out this way!
My large, extended family was looking for a local, non-chain restaurant that would be something we couldn't get at home in Colorado for a yummy dinner while on vacation in California. The Village Kitchen and Pie Shop certainly fit the bill. There was something on the menu for the pickiest of our party of 9 people spanning ages 9-72, and the service was excellent. The portions were huge. The pie is a delicious way to cap off the meal.
1st time there today. My only regret is I didn't come sooner. Not many places you can choose a cinnamon roll instead of toast. The county fried steak was good. Also got a cup of chili that did not disappoint. My wife and kids enjoyed their meal as well. Can't wait to go back and try some pie. Prices were fair.
First of all, you had me at "Pie Shoppe." I love this place. We saw the sign in passing, while heading to the freeway and promised ourselves that we'd be back. The next morning we stopped in for breakfast. And oh, what a breakfast. While most places offer a choice of toast, muffins or biscuits...the coveted Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe offers (are you sitting down?) freshly baked, hot, buttered Cinnamon Rolls, as a choice for breakfast breads. Excuse me, while a break into my Happy Dance! Oooh yeah...it's that good! The rest of the breakfast was great also. And Josie, our server was fantastic! Her cheerful personality was just as delightful as the freshly baked, hot, buttered Cinnamon Roll. So of course, we returned for lunch and had to try a slice of pie...or five. What? "Pie" is in the name. There are few better ways to start (or finish) your day than the Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe. Oh, and did I mention?...they have freshly baked, hot, buttered Cinnamon Rolls.
Pies! We've driven all the way from Arizona for pies. We have the location saved in our navigation because of the special place they hold in our hearts(bellies). Chocolate Peanut Butter, Lemon, Oreo Cookie, & Blueberry are favorites! The mini-cakes are awesome too!
Asked Google where the best pie was near me. This was the closest and it was excellent. Four of us had dessert. The three pieces of pie that were ordered were all very good. I was full so I took my pecan roll to go. It was fantastic. Big enough for dessert later and breakfast in the morning. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. May have to try their food someday.
What a wonderfully quaint and homey diner. This country kitchen is done right. I am so picky about my white gravy. My grandma was from Oklahoma and her biscuits and gravy were to die for. This place served me with the closest thing to Grandmama’s Midwestern biscuits and gravy I have ever had. Mmmmm mmmm, boy I tell you, that hit the spot. Yummy yum yum 🤤 That’s not even mentioning that I ate my home fries without ketchup. I couldn’t. They tasted so good, I couldn’t risk ruining their flavor. First off, anyone who offers to serve me my dessert BEFORE my meal is my new favorite server. Heck yeah, I want that pecan roll served to me first. You and me, we can be BFFs 😍😄 The hubby can be seen giving a thumb’s up in one of the pictures I posted along with this review. He hasn’t wanted any type of cheeseburger in quite some time so I was surprised by his order. He was not disappointed. Gooey lumps of melted bleu cheese seeped out of his burger. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh and clean. No bruises, Green Leaf (which I live on any sandwich), the slices of tomato were a vibrant red and not soggy, mushy or old. Nice crispy slices of red onion and a toasted bun. The burger comes undressed with condiments on the side. My husband, also kind of a picky eater, was so appreciative of this measure. He put nothing on his burger. When I asked him why not, he said, “It’s good. It doesn’t need it.” That’s a pretty good review alone, but it’s gonna get better. ^_^ I ordered 2 amazing pies to go home. We do have four crazy kids after all. 😅 The blueberry pie was To Die For 😍 OH MY GOODNESS. I don’t even like blueberries all that much, I ordered it because my girls do and it’s pretty healthy as far as pies go. Full Disclosure: I ate two pieces. Large pieces. I have No Regrets! Hahaha! It was worth every calorie. Every bite was unbelievably delicious 😋 The second pie was with my boys in mind, a chocolate raspberry cream pie. I got two bites. That was it. They wolfed down that pie like it was the first food they had had in months. Um…hello? It’s not like Mom didn’t just make a huge family feast two months in a row. Remember Thanksgiving?? Or Christmas dinner? SMH 😅🤷♀️ C’est la vie! I also ordered a pecan roll to go with the intentions of eating it for breakfast. The hubby and I are guilty and can admit with honesty, that pecan roll never even made it past bedtime. 😈 HAHAHA 🤣 YUM If you have the hankering for a hot, home cooked meal. I would highly recommend the Village Kitchen and Pie Shoppe. Great service and unbelievably good food.
Food, atmosphere, and staff are all fantastic. I don’t know what company they source their breakfast sausage links from but they are especially superb. The cook on everything (crisp, fluff, grill, fry) is really great. Also the sour cream fruit pie is delicious. I’ve never had a layered sour cream pie but it was so so good.
OMG. Best place to go, if you go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This place is amazing. If you want real country eats, it's here. Staff is great, quick and makes you feel like you're home!. Everything is made to order, real country scratch foods. Bakery is real fresh, pies, muffins.
My first time eating there. I was in town for my daughter's wedding and wanted a good breakfast so I Googled the menu and I liked the variety so I decided to go eat there. My breakfast was good and so was the service. I will definitely go there again when I'm back to visit my family.
The Wait Staff are on top of their game. The food is always good (except the grits). Serving size will fill you up. Prices are reasonable. Coffee is usually always full! The home made cookies are amazing! This is our go to place.
My daughter and I have eaten here or gotten food to go thirty times easily. Each time I want to hug myself and them. The self control it takes to not steal the chefs and take them home with me... I should get a medal. 😁 The COCONUT CREAM PIE is wonderful. It is so fresh and real tasting. It reminded me of a trip to Amish Country. I love the Chocolate Cream, Raspberry Chocolate Cream, Banana Cream and Peanut Butter Pies too. The cream pies are my favorite! I love the Biscuits & Gravy, Hash Browns, Pancakes and Link Sausage! Being able to get breakfast all day makes them my heroes! I just added the Chicken Fried Steak to my favorites list too. The Palomar Airport Chicken Salad Sandwich is delicious. It has raisins and chutney, which made it very unique. I loved it on Sourdough bread, not toasted. I tried it toasted, but it's harder to eat. The BLT with Avocado is heavenly too. The Las Flores Roast Beef Sandwich, Burger, and the onion rings are great. I just tried the Fried Shrimp, with hash browns as a side, and loved that too. I love the atmosphere and the staff. Fernando has been especially good and makes us feel so pampered. It has an old-fashioned diner vibe inside and a cute little outdoor courtyard too. The prices are great. They always have some beautiful plants and flowers to enjoy too. Lots of love to the hardworking staff that makes all of this possible.
I have been looking for a good local breakfast place for a long time - Village Kitchen finally gave me hope. I had the Eggs Benny was my standard dish to judge the quality of the poached eggs, hashbrowns and sauces. The hollandaise was perfect - creamy, a little acid, no breaking. The poached egg was phenomenal - oozy and perfectly cooked. The hashbrowns were seasoned well and crispy. My husband had the chicken friend steak and a side of the biscuits and gravy. Every bite was a great mix of crispy and creamy with great sausage flavor. Our server was nice and fast. It was very busy and we had a hard time finding parking but they were doing their best to turn tables. The wait wasn’t too bad. We got a slice of banana cream pie to go and will definitely be back to try all the other flavors. It was fresh, creamy, and had real banana flavor. Great work!
Brought my friends to come try one of my fav spots in Carlsbad. Every breakfast item I've had is excellent but their pecan rolls are THE BEST, granted my husband says it's the cinnamon rolls. I was so excited they had chicken livers this visit! We always have to get their oatmeal cookies for home. I love their peanut butter chocolate pie but resisted this visit since we were going to be out after. Love that it is family run and service is always on point and everyone is always friendly and helpful. Cozy comfortable dining area with nice patio area.
We had a little time in the morning before heading to Legoland. As this was close to our hotel we decided to give it a try. Both the wait staff and the person that greeted us at the door were super friendly. Then the food came and it was equal to the great service. Overall you can't go wrong eating at this place. We had a great breakfast and it kept us full for most of the day.
The family pie shop is consistently delicious. Fantastic food all of the good stuff that you see in the other reviews is true. It’s definitely my go to place. The pricing is right on point and the food is delicious. Great selection for breakfast lunch or dinner.
We came in to get desserts after we saw the fire fighters get a pie here. We got some cookies and muffins. Came back today to get cookies to go. After seeing how nice everyone is we decided to stay for dinner. They serve breakfast all day if you want it. They serve lunch and dinner. They have something for everyone. When you come in give a shout out to the Carlsbad Fire Dept.. the truck with the guy steering the back end. They let me take pics of them.
Wow! My whole family was in town over the holidays, and we had a nostalgic moment remembering the chocolate cream pie from Marie Callender’s when we were kids. I searched for a similar pie and found Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe. We called ahead, reserved a pie, and picked it up on our way home — it did not disappoint! The pie was absolutely delicious: fresh, creamy, and even better than our nostalgia could have imagined. Can’t wait to go back and try more flavors!
I had a very pleasant and superb experience here! The staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. They were also very accommodating to our party of 13, getting us seated quickly and making everything feel effortless. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care, and the mimosas were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. I’ll definitely be coming back when In Carlsbad and recommending this place to others!
Great breakfast spot! If you arrive before 11am Monday- Friday you can take advantage of the morning specials. The biscuit and gravy with home fries and an egg is my new crave! It does get busy, but the wait moves along quickly. The service is fast and very friendly as well. Check it out!
We are visiting from Indiana and after Mass at St. Patrick Church, we decided to stop for breakfast here. It was perfect! There’s anything you could want for breakfast, including the fried chicken livers I got! Everything was so delicious and the pies and pastries look divine. Our waitress was excellent… wish I had gotten her name. We will be back before we leave town!
My 1st time here and I'll return. Found great reviews online and they weren't wrong. Here for breakfast. Slight wait. Everyone is so friendly including servers and guys behind the counter. Pick up fresh pies, muffins etc to take home. Nice cozy decor. Great food!
Excellent experience overall! We got there around 11 am, just before the lunch rush and were seated immediately. It got pretty busy after we got there and there were people waiting to be seated by the time we left. They have a lot of seating inside and outside. They also have a big parking lot but this place is popular, so I would recommend coming in just before peak hours. We got the French toast and the chorizo scramble with a side of potato pancake and a homemade biscuit. Both plates were excellent. The French toast was just right - not too sweet, fluffy and freshly made. The chorizo scramble was a teeny bit saltier than I like, but savory, with a slight kick and flavorful. The potato pancake didn't have as much salt so the combo worked. The biscuit was decent. We went back later that day to get some pie. They didn't have the banana cream pie, so we got the chocolate banana cream pie and the boysenberry pie slices. For people who like bananas, you will love the banana cream pie. Definitely strong on the banana component! The boysenberry was just right between sweet and tart. The pie crust were flaky and not at all soggy. We have found a new favorite place for American brunch and will be back for sure!
We had a great breakfast! Our food came out so quickly and it was perfect. Our eggs were cooked to perfection. Our server was great. She was friendly and checked in on us often. There are beautiful flowers out front and in the back , so stop and take in their beauty as well. We will definitely be back!
Love this place. Been coming here since they opened ages ago. Breakfast is delicious. They also still have their breakfast specials that are extreamly reasonable. Since we tend to come early we normally get the specials. Last time we came my daughter got the pancake with 2 eggs and bacon special. I ended up with the 1/2 waffle, 2 eggs and bacon. Total together was around $20. Their sandwiches are great too. I love the cup of soup & half sandwhich combo with a slice of pie. Service is always quick and fast. Kid friendly and pies are great.
The Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe was very good. My girlfriend and I just stopped in this morning for the first time. Love to see it crowded as that tells me the eats are good. Loved seeing the delicious pies right when you enter the restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive by multiple individuals, and I appreciate the hospitality. We will be back soon.
We found this gem as it was close to the hotel visitors were staying at. Went in to try a bakery style dinner and we pleasantly surprised. The baked goods are fantastic, from the cinnamon roll to the peach pie and everything in between. The food was spot on delicious, with a good serving size (maybe too much for some people). Prices were in line with the market value. And the service was outstanding. A smile in every person we interacted with. Be ready to wait for a bit to be seated, specially over the weekend, but definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

Tried their Polish Scramble with a German Potato Pancake. I had always loved Potato Latkes and wanted to see the difference in taste. The scramble was good, filling and came out very quick. Quicker than I expected since they were busy at the time came for early breakfast. The German Potato Pancake was good it had a different texture than the Latkes and overall I would give it another try when I go back.
Slow seating. I stood in front waiting for 2-3 min (w/ no other customers waiting) while several employees passed right by me. It finally took someone from behind the pie/bakery glass to acknowledge me. Besides that, polite/professional service; good food; fair prices; and decent turnaround time for the food. *The carrots (w/ brown sugar & a slight orange/pineapple marinade) were amazing. * Cinnamon roles = amazing. A very homey, feel-good atmosphere.
I want to like this place more, and I plan to continue to come back out of hope that it'll get better and better! The prices are definitely reasonable, especially on the kids menu and the seniors menu. I prefer coming here for breakfast or lunch over dinner. I seem to have better food and overall experiences earlier in the day. Their pies are good, especially if you happen to get a slice out of a pie that just came out! I didn't try it, but saw the fresh strawberry pie (seasonal special) and it looks delicious.
I was pleasantly surprised by Village Kitchen & Pie Shop — the food was excellent, and the place itself is incredibly charming and cozy. The atmosphere makes you feel right at home, and the service was friendly and welcoming from the start. As a fan of country fried steak, I have to say theirs is one of the best I’ve had in all of San Diego. Cooked perfectly, flavorful, and comforting, exactly what you want from a classic dish like that. The bakery is also worth mentioning, the pies and pastries are really good and clearly made with care. I definitely need to come back with the family for breakfast. Highly recommended!
Great service, and fast! American cuisine. Portions are enormous and traditional flavors and spices. We tried Village BLT and eggs Benedict, banana cream pie, and banana chocolate pie. The BLT was really good, and the chicken was sliced to a thinner file, which is great. Salad as a side .. na, that one was a bit boring. Eggs Benedict was good- a bit much of ham ( I know right) that made it a bit too salty. If you go here, a piece of pie is a must. So good and you can really taste the difference from a store bought pie. These are fantastic. Extra plus is the pie dough - a bit salty to balance the sweetness in the pie. Overall a great place with amazing service.
This place is not charming like the reviews seem to indicate. It's a run-down Denny's vibe. Booths everywhere, seats and painted walls are missing cloth and paint. I really wanted to like this place …
It was packed and not much parking in the area. Wait was not long though. food was really good coffee was great.it was super busy so definitely understand the wait however biscuit and gravy was hot…
Cool little restaurant right off the freeway. It is located right behind a gas station so be on the look out for that. It didn't seem really crowded when we got there. We were seated right away. The service was good. Our waitress did a good job taking out order promptly and getting our food out as soon as possible. We ordered the California eggs Benedict and I ordered the chorizo scramble. We also got orange juice. The food was okay. Nothing really special. The prices were really expensive. The four items were about 40 total with tip. OJ was 4.50 so be careful there when getting OJ. I could buy a bag at that price. The experience was good but the next time I come back I would be more mindful about what I order. I would like to try the pies though. I heard it was delicious.
The best thing about their pies is the crust, best I have had. A little shy on the fillings however. We both had chicken pot pie. Good, not great, but good.
Take with the caveat that our wait staff was crazy busy so maybe not their fault.\n\nThe service and food were below average. Thought the ambiance was cute. I could honestly have gotten better food…

To be fair. It is Easter. They were busy, I expected that. This review is not about how long the food took or how the service was. They were all very busy. The food was bad. I don't know why they don't put salt on anything but everything was luke warm and extremely bland. My 9 year old who eats about 5 pounds of French fries a week refused to eat the fries. The hone fries LOOKED crispy and delicious but they were not crispy. They might have been at some point but they weren't when they were delivered. They were soggy and warm ish. Again not even a pinch of salt. The sausage gravy tasted like water. It did not taste like sausage at all and I found a big lump of something. Flour? Wet bread? I dunno what it was but it wasn't sausage or gravy. I would not recommend this place. Breakfast food is notoriously easy to prepare. Salt on food is one of the most basic fundamentals of cooking. I don't mean it was under salted. Nothing was seasoned at all.
I was very excited to try the pie but figured I’d start with food. The zucchini starter was nice, seasoned breading. Chicken and sauce seasoned ok but pasta was bland. The pie was the most disappointing pie I’ve had. I pictured being a pie place it would be goey, hot and maybe have ice cream. A sad COLD slice of Dutch apple pie came out. I asked for it to be heated and only a few pieces of apples were “warm.” My daughter and I shared even she stopped eating. More pride in the pies wouldve made me want to go back but if I were you I’d pass.
Been coming here for months now. The food has been very good until today. The server and chef had no idea what ingredients or type of mushroom they used for their omelets. After they "found" out and showed me, i ordered the Mexican chicken omelet. The chicken was lukewarm and not tasty by any stretch of the words. The "mexican seasoned" chicken was not seasoned. The eggs are always ok. The hash browns are usually warmer and less oil or butter is used. It shows. The passion, or lack there of. The care and love, or lack there of. I gave them a minimum week to get things together. Maybe change the quality of the food but it was no good. The second photo is there Tamarack club sandwiche. The bread was tasty! Everything else was missing what most people would call quality... This is the last time I order from Carlsbad's Village Kitchen & Pie Shoppe I hope you learn what a bakery and restaurant outside of your little world can produce with quality
first timer an I had a really bad service went with my aunt to buy some pies as we found this place on google and mind you never in the website stated 2 pies per household as I ask the cashier I was paying for two and my aunt was getting 1 for her household she denied our purchased but we saw how other customer walked out with more then 2 pies.the girl that was in the cashier was really rude so unprofessional it made me feel maybe because I'm Mexican and not white skin and as the lady that was behind me she was able to take more then 2 with no question ask. been a first timer in this place I was excited to find a place close by home to be able to eat some fresh yummy pies but end up leaving with a sour mouth. also I wasn't trying to use the racial card but as for a place full of whites and me and my aunt been Mexican It gave me that bad feeling. hope next time there will be sings that states how many per household for futures customers.
