I tried many of the finest coffee places in greater San Diego. Hands down, La Costa Coffee Roasting is the Best! The quality of coffee, their variety, and the value at La Costa Coffee Roasting are all world class. And the staff know coffee. I’m so grateful to have finally discovered this place. I highly recommend if for the most discerning coffee enthusiast to the person looking for a great deal on outstanding coffee. This is the place!

Great coffee. Very reasonable prices too, compared to other coffee houses. They roast their own beans which means the coffee is fresh and delicious. I generally get the cold brew, which is delicious and very inexpensive compared to other places. This is my local go-to for great coffee. They also have amazing cheese danishes. I believe they supply the pastries for the local coffee trucks too.

Best coffee shop in North County! They roast their beans and it is like drinking perfection. You will not be disappointed.

Always like to take a bike ride to this location. Sugar free vanilla latte is my favorite. Have had some other biscuits and bagels and are also amazing. Lovely patio to sit out and just enjoy the afternoon

Nice atmosphere. Has an old coffee roasting store feel to it...and had great tasting coffee. I enjoyed my visit. Though I did not order food, they offered a nice variety of different desserts. I would recommend this as a spot to hang out, study, or just get a drink and quick bite.

Super coffee place.....Enjoy seeing the coffee roasted almost daily. Buy a Fresh batch for home and know what Really Fresh Ground Brewed coffee should taste like. The owner has been there 28 years and it a great place to get that Real Cup if Joe! Totally enjoyed my coffee and nice atmosphere. Enjoy

Our favorite local coffee roasters. The espresso is the best. Doug roasts all the beans on-site and he does a great job. Try a latte and homemade pastry. You will love La Costa Coffee Roasting!

I highly recommend the Americano Vanilla Bean, and the Coffee Cake was absolutely delicious, the service was wonderful as well.

This place is absolutely amazing! The staff that were the most friendly I’ve ever dealt with! The prices were excellent! The coffee is absolutely the best!! We were so impressed with the coffee we ended up buying whole bean coffee to go. The macadamia nut is the best I’ve ever had!!! I would highly recommend going here, I also have to mention they’re cold brew was amazing!!! It’s super fun and there they have their own roasting machine the owner or manager not sure who he was took all the time to explain the process and show us how it worked it was tons of fun for the grandkids👍

Everyone here is great. We only come down once in a while to visit our son and always go to lacosta coffee. But we always insist on going because it's such a great place for coffee and snacks and seating and atmosphere.

LaCosta is our favorite coffee shop. We order online the New Guinea 🇬🇳 grind. It’s not bitter. The staff is very knowledgeable about the coffee and they provide great service.

My Brother-In-Law gets his coffee beans here and recommended. I was able to see Doug at work roasting the beans. Our favorite local coffee roasters. Tried a hot espresso latte and it was very good. Ended up buying a small bag of Snickerdoodle coffee in a small bag and fired up the Moccamaster and home the next day and it was very flavorful. You will love La Costa Coffee Roasting!

My husband and I discovered this roaster when we were having an extended stay in Carlsbad. I cannot express how ridiculously delicious their fresh roasted whole coffee beans are. My husband and I have an espresso machine and we can ALWAYS tell the difference between a bag of fresh beans from La Costa and a bag that had been gifted to us by friends from somewhere else. Doug is the owner who is always working away making sure the beans are roasted to perfection and his high standards. Each roast has their own unique flavor profile and we prefer all his roasts black with no sugar or cream to fully enjoy each cup! We’ve now been ordering pounds of whole beans from here for over 5 years and make sure to ask for a punch card!! We have never been disappointed and tell all of our friends about the epic coffee from La Costa!

Chose this local coffee shop vs Starbucks. Located on the corner, bright, cute decor, even a roasting machine. Service staff was very friendly. Good amount of seatings, busy. Latte was reasonably good, light roasted. Tea was conveniently hung on the cup, cute! Great place to come to support the local business!

In addition to the coffee, they offer an enticing selection of pastries, each one more tempting than the last, making it difficult to choose just one.

As you enter La Costa Coffee, you see a large blue coffee roaster. Furthermore, the warm decor delivers a coffee house feel; hence this place was busy. I enjoyed sipping a medium roast cup of coffee ☕. I had to dust off the table, but again there was much action. The indoor seating was too loud, so we stepped out onto the patio, where we delighted in the weather. Yes, I look forward to another coffee moment at La Costa Coffee Roasting.

This place is just average. Staff is friendly. There are so many great coffee shops in the Carlsbad area that I would say this is a B list. Latte was good but not great like you’d get at other spots like vigilante and bird rock.

I love this place! They actually make a good strong cup of coffee and have fun drink choices around the holidays. I like to stop by here when I'm in Carlsbad.Great location and good coffee. But most importantly- the BEST desserts I've ever had at a coffee shop. Seriously good cakes and pastries!

Vanilla bean latte was awful to drink. It was clumps of powder sediments settled at the bottom. It's like they didn't even try to mix it thoroughly. Every time I took a drink, all I got was a mouthful of powdered clumps, and it was disgusting. Their menu is very limited with options.

Worst service ever experienced at coffee shop. Took 20 minutes and ended up leaving even after paying because staff was so confused

Don't waste your time here if you like quality coffee. The have a list of their delicious-sounding in-house roasted coffees, but they don't offer pour over or french press or any other way to try the beans before buying an entire bag. Opted for a cold brew instead but it tasted like day-old drip brew that had been shoved in the fridge with hopes that it could be pawned off as an actual drink.

I was visiting Carlsbad and decided to try the coffee they had on the menu. The girl took my order; she said you're all set and I was hoping it will be ready shortly. I noticed people who ordered drinks after me were getting their coffee so I decided to ask one of the girls to check on my order. She asked me what it was, checked with the barista and came back to tell me they didn't have my order and just now working on it. She gave me my order with no apologies even after sharing how long I've been waiting. Very disappointing and I will probably never go back.
