Best coffee around. I love space traveler. a little pricey, but well worth the money. Be prepared for a long line, but it is worth the wait.

Some of the best coffee in town, my fav is a rosemary latte! My only wish is to have more wall outlets and then I’ll sit there and work all day 😆

One of the best shops in so-cal. Fantastic smooth balanced blend for their espresso with lots of variety in bean selection to take home. They just expended and it looks fantastic.

Steady State Roasting is the kind of coffee shop that instantly makes you feel at home. The space has a cool, modern vibe but still feels cozy and welcoming. Their baristas really know their stuff—every cup tastes like it’s been brewed with precision and care.

One of the best coffee shops in north county. Their espresso drinks are always smooth and well balanced. Vibe is friendly and welcoming. I’ve been coming here for a year plus and never been disappointed. Try their single origin espressos or their specialty drinks like the rosemary latte. Oh and dog friendly!

Love the vibe that this shop has! Super friendly people and the prices are pretty reasonable for a Carlsbad shop. Great coffee. Tucked away in a corner of Carlsbad but a must-visit! Nice seating areas and it is definitely a popular place with the locals. Lots of families and businesspeople seem to hang out here.

Total delight to visit Steady State. Eric and the whole team were incredibly helpful and incredibly skilled. Best coffee I’ve had in recent memory. Really enjoyed the Pacamara - don’t miss it if you can get it.

Whenever I drive up the coast from San Diego, I love stopping g at Steady State. The coffee is very nice in my opinion and the pastries (from Prager Brothers) are excellent.

My favorite coffee shop every time I’m in San Diego. Love them so much I have their fresh roasted beans delivered to me in South Florida. Amazing customer service and delicious brew. Can’t wait to be back!

These guys know coffee! First time customer. Perfectly brewed cold brew (Brazilian beans). Beautiful designed coffee shop, tons of coffee products to buy if you’re getting into this realm. Tons of seating inside and outdoors. Perfect spot to kick it while you enjoy some brew. 10/10 recommendation

we visited on the weekend so the parking lot was completely full and ended up parking down the block which wasn't a big deal but take a look in the parking lot before driving by because you might be lucky and catch a spot. we had a pour over coffee which didn't take too long to be prepared and the staff behind the counter was generally nice and quick as well. i will note that they did have a line out the door and all the tables were full so it seems like the spot to be on a saturday morning. the line although it was long (10+ minutes) moved fairly quickly. if you're in the area, believe the hype and make sure you stop by here for a cup of coffee.

Coffee, vibe, staff all 💯!! Tried the Honey, Please and loved it! Husband had the flat white and also loved it. The “Morning Bun” was the ideal treat for a Sunday morning and can we talk about the branding, cups, and overall concept? Well done. Staff was super kind and welcoming and not in the “why are you so peppy?” way, but in the they actually enjoy being there way. 10/10 recommend to locals and travelers.

Best coffee in Carlsbad and the surrounding cities. Super nice/helpful staff. A bummer they don’t write the roast dates on their bags of retail coffee. I was told the bag I bought was recently roasted but not being transparent with your product that’s over $20 is, in my opinion, lazy. I know the date I bought the coffee but no clue when it was roasted. Other than that, great coffee. Great experience.

I’m always chasing great espresso, and Steady State Roasting Company absolutely delivers. Tried a few spots while in Carlsbad, and this one stood out fast. Dialed-in operation, top-shelf espresso, full of flavor. Had to try some food and the lox sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. If you care about quality, this is the place. ☕️

The atmosphere of this place was very peaceful. I enjoyed my time inside waiting for my coffee. I ordered a latte (hot) and my husband ordered a flat white. The espresso in my latte was very nutty and complimented the milk nicely. They provide single origin, so that's a big win! Our drinks were crafted quickly and with care.

Great coffee and a lovely atmosphere. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the cappuccino is really delicious. The only downside is that it can be difficult to find an available parking spot. Overall, a very pleasant place worth visiting.

This place has the kind of coffee I seek and pain stakingly try to find wherever I go. Lightly roasted, with African coffees, which I really enjoy. They have WiFi and great pastries for those discerning remote workers who enjoy exceptional coffee.

Great coffee! I love the cold fashioned and the rosemary latte. They also have a number of unique pour-overs with single origin beans. The only negative is the lack of power outlets for customers.

We walked 3/4 miles from The Village to try this coffee house. Very glad we did. The cashier taking orders greeted everyone like neighbors. I really like Ginger so I immediately gravitated to the Ginger Spiced Chai Tea. Glad I did as it is delicious. My husband orders Matcha wherever he goes. When asked he replied this version was uniquely good. Maybe it was the oat milk. If you’re in the village, take the time to come. You won’t regret it.

And the environment is clean, has air-conditioning which is a great repreve from the hotness of the sunlight in summer season. The atmosphere has a trendy artistic vibe, but it's more of an undertone, and it's spacious and open, not small or crowded. They space has a free feeling that's very flowy and calm.

This place loves coffee and with every detail u can see why and the love and care for the kind of coffee and types of coffee and how we should enjoy it. I love the atmosphere and the really helpful staff that helped me at the counter, recommending me a really enjoyable coffee - space traveller when I was there for the first time. I polished the entire mushroom boy sandwich which was delish and to die for! Can't wait to come back and try more. It has a great atmosphere and environment, and is a great spot to come for a bite to eat and hang out with friends on the weekend. I love it so much, I almost don’t want to post this for fear of it becoming overly busy. But it’s just that good!

Wow just utterly spectacular specialty coffees and vibes. I can see myself coming back here a lot whenever I'm in town Pancake spiced latte: GETTT!! Such a perfectly warming and spiced latte! It had a great balance of creamy, salty, and sweetness. I'm actually so glad it's not seasonal and I'm going to definitely be coming back for this Matcha: Get This was also delicious and with a smooth earthyness to it that was very pleasant. Again, both drinks weren't overly sweet which I love Drinks: 10/10 Service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Value: 8/10

Pour over cup of coffee was pretty tasteful and accompanying oatmeal raisan cookie was good. Fairly high priced though. Pleasant eclectic beachy atmosphere clean and neat. Usually busy with parking sometimes a challenge. Definitely worth checking out.

We love the vibe of this place! The decor, everything on display really shout out to the character of this super cool spot. The staff were very friendly and were very good at making an incredibly delicious flat white. Every food item that was placed on the counter for pick up looked so delicious. The quality of the coffee itself is excellent. Coffee is challenging to qualify and hard to explain because good coffee can be really quite average but excellent coffee is a whole different universe altogether. I think I read in an Instagram post this place is for coffee snobs, and that “you know who you are.” Well even if I didn’t know before, I guess I now know I am a coffee, snob 😂 Will definitely be returning.

There are so many coffee shops to choose from in the area. Once you’ve been to Steady State you’ll probably become a regular. The staff… friendly and welcoming. The space… open and comfortable. The caffeine… superb. A barista from another shop recommended Steady State to me. I’m so happy they did. I was visiting from Canada and was only supposed to be in the area for four days… that was a month ago. I’ve tried to come to Steady State daily because my day just didn’t feel complete otherwise. Just ignore the flavourless chain “coffee” places and support a terrific local business.

Edit: Steady State has moved to a new location further on State Street and within a complex towards the back of the buildings. When I visited, the coffee was still fantastic as my first visit. I got my car serviced across the street so I thought I would do some work while I was waiting. I brought my laptop but at the time there were no power outlets. They said they were working on that so hopefully they have gotten that sorted. I really like Steady State compared to the other cafes in the area but I definitely need a "coffice" where I can work for a few hours. Old review: Even though I had the address, this coffee shop was a bit hard to find. Signage was tiny. There's a little alley to the left of the brown building. Coffee was excellent. I ordered a proper cortado served with carbonated water. Sign up for their coffee member thing and get your fifth cup free!

Why can’t Steady State “State” the roast date of their whole beans? We have been purchasing whole beans from here for months. At the bottom of the bag there is a designated section for the roast date (ROAST DATE:_______). They never have a roast date on them. The staff are unable to give a date of the roast. Kind of sus.

I just drink coffee, so I’m always looking for a place with really good brews. This place only serves medium roast. Fine. But it was bitter and flavors were underwhelming. Surprising since they have such good reviews.

Ok Coffee, poor service. The cultural trend in Coffee ships seems to be to take at least 15 minutes to make a coffee. Along with that, one has to pay $7 for a decent coffee, the equivalent of a meal in Mexico. America is generally spiraled downwards when the trend is to give poor service, no manners, and no politeness. Please work on your prices and the humility of your staff.
