The most delicious and beautiful dishes! We celebrated my daughter's birthday, and we felt like we were very important people 😁 Then we got the big surprise. The compliment birthday cake 🎂 from the restaurant! Highly recommend to come and get that experience!
The dining experience at this establishment is characterized by exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff members exhibit a commendable level of professionalism, ensuring that patrons feel comfortable and attended to throughout their visit. This commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in the attentiveness and friendliness displayed by the team, which significantly enhances the overall dining experience. The culinary offerings, particularly the Eggs Benedict and French toast, exemplify a high standard of preparation and presentation. The Eggs Benedict is crafted with precision, featuring perfectly poached eggs atop a toasted English muffin, accompanied by Canadian bacon and a velvety hollandaise sauce that complements the dish exquisitely. Similarly, the French toast is executed flawlessly, showcasing a golden-brown exterior and a soft, custard-like interior, enhanced by a dusting of powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup. Both dishes reflect a commitment to quality ingredients and skilled culinary techniques. It is advisable for patrons to prioritize these menu items when visiting. The combination of attentive service and expertly prepared dishes creates a compelling reason to return. To fully appreciate the offerings, one should consider making a reservation during peak hours to ensure a timely and enjoyable dining experience. Engaging with the staff regarding any dietary preferences or inquiries will further enhance the visit, allowing for a tailored experience that meets individual needs.
Update: Vivante is definitely not a one shot good review... we keep going back and they keep serving up awesome. Tonight 9/12/2025 Friday, they had music out on the patio, and happy hour specials until 7:00 p.m. More pictures added. The shrimp cocktail was amazing and looked the same as it did when we ordered it before. They are consistent. My husband and I enjoyed appetizers on the patio on Thursday night, and our server was amazing. Then, we came back on Saturday night and had dinner inside, the service once again was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were divine, and the crab cakes tasted delicious. Loved it!
Hayala was amazing! She battled the cold snow and freezing temps to serve us. She was helpful with decisions on ordering and gluten free options and drink recommendations. She was super sweet and kind and did great 👏 👏 👏
My wife & I usually use Devour Indy to check out new restaurants & see if they're worth going back to later on. This evening we tried Vivante, a French eatery, & it was pretty good. The portions weren't the biggest, but that's to be expected.. it was still quite tasty & the service was excellent. We saw a few other things on the menu that we were curious about so I'm pretty sure that we'll be back..😋
We spent a wonderful time there before the concert at Allied Solutions Performing Arts Center. Our server Aimee T was so kind, jovial, and attentive! She took our picture, made good recommendations for beverages, and made us feel warm & welcomed. What a great respite from the rain as we waited on concert doors to open. Comfortably classy! Seriously, can’t say enough about the good vibes we felt. We had the shrimp appetizer, wine, and coffee. Thanks again for the pre-concert core memory!
Olivia was phenomenal! The food was fine but her service was amazing. She provided us with terrific wine recommendations, kindness, and a great experience. Ask for Olivia if you come to this restaurant and you will not be disappointed!!
We ate in one of the soft-seating igloos and it was an absolutely magical experience from start to finish. The hotel where the restaurant is located is breathtakingly beautiful, especially with the holiday decorations. The igloos are cozy and warm because they have space heaters and blankets. There are options to rent igloos with an actual table and chairs, but ours had a small coffee table and cushioned seats around it, which created a super cozy vibe. The igloos are outside, right next to the square, so the view and atmosphere is fantastic. Our service was excellent. The soft-seating igloos have a "limited menu," but there are still plenty of great options! Drinks, appetizers, the main course and dessert came out at a nice pace. The staff was very nice and friendly. We had a delicious charcuterie board, steak, veggies, fries and chocolate cake, which was kindly offered when one of the menu desserts wasn't available. There is a $100 food and beverage minimum and 22% gratuity automatically added. There is parking in a nearby garage, free on-street parking or the hotel has valet service. Highly recommend the experience. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance!
If I could just keep writing about how my birthday experience was at Vivante last week, I could just go on and on! Vivante was on my brunch list for almost 2 years, and I finally got a chance to visit. I made advance reservations and was immediately escorted in. Let me tell you about the ambience, it’s historic, classy, rich and so royal. Every piece and seating felt right out of a book. Ryan our server made my birthday and brunch so memorable. He was so courteous, efficient and gave us so much time and space to make a choice. Ryan celebrated my birthday with a beautiful cake. And now the food, it was amazing just as the place. The scones were great and the veggie quiche had a rich flavor of cheese with a fresh side of vegetables. I just had such a good time. Like I said I could keep writing!
I reserved the igloo experience for my wife & our kid. From the time we were greeted til we left it was an amazing experience for us. I loved our server Delaney she went above & beyond for us with our kid having a nut allergy. & my wife requesting a breve latte & learning how to make it on the fly for us! Highly recommend! A must for any special occasion!
Breakfast at Vivante was nothing short of a civilized indulgence, the sort of experience that reminds one how elevating a well-executed brunch can be when every detail is attended to with care. I arrived as part of a small group invited to a morning seminar, and from the moment we were seated it was clear this establishment understands hospitality at a higher register. The service was unhurried yet impeccably attentive — polished without ever being intrusive. There was a calm confidence in the staff’s manner that immediately set the tone for a leisurely and refined morning. I selected the quiche alongside the red deviled eggs, and both were exceptional. The quiche was delicately custarded, rich without excess, and beautifully balanced — the kind of dish that feels both comforting and elegant. The red deviled eggs were a standout: decadent, thoughtfully composed, and executed with restraint. Each bite felt intentional, indulgent in the most tasteful way. What impressed me most was the atmosphere of ease and discretion. Conversations flowed naturally, coffee was refreshed at just the right moment, and the entire experience unfolded with a sense of quiet luxury. It was the ideal setting for meaningful discussion, perfectly suited to a morning gathering of thoughtful minds. Vivante offers more than a meal — it offers an experience rooted in gracious service, refined flavors, and an unmistakable sense of occasion. A truly lovely choice for breakfast or brunch when one wishes to linger, converse, and be well cared for. —CB
VRB is a beautiful restaurant located downstairs in The Carmichael Hotel. We sat at a small table for two. The serve all coffee in a French press. The noise level was quiet, the atmosphere is charming and the food tasty. The vegetarian quiche is a fluffy soufflé of goodness with thinly sliced squash and zucchini. Paired with the salad and dressing elevated the dish, but pieces of the leaves in my salad were brown, the potatoes were under seasoned, and the chicken sausage was overcooked but edible. My husband enjoyed his western omelette that he described as cooked to perfection, but the plating of his food lacked desire. We were hoping to try the blueberry lemon scones but they only had pumpkin. If I could make a suggestion please have an alternative to seasonal scones.
Edit: I appreciate that the restaurant took on our previous comments and there are more vegetarian options now. The Pumpkin Ravioli is very good. The Pesto Pasta needed to be cooked more. This is a good restaurant. The piano being played in the hotel lobby can be heard downstairs as well adding to the ambience. We loved our Ratatouille. It was piping hot and delicious. Overall a good place for a date night.
Let me start by saying that, overall, we had an amazing time at the vivante French eatery. My friend had a reservation for quite a large party so we had an entire room to ourselves, which was nice. I can’t give this place 5 stars because I really thought that the food would be amazing. For someone who’s familiar with french cuisines, I was a little bit disappointed. Also, we only had one server taking care of a group of 10+ and she was so nice. However, it was clear that she was a bit overwhelmed which is totally understandable. Had to ask for our drinks multiple times before getting it (shoutout to the bartender for working with us! ) For larger parties, the restaurant should ensure to have an adequate amount of staffs working on that shift. Our table was full of empty plates in which they’d served us those delicious breads and the ones for our entrees. Nobody came to take them away which created a chaos when they served us the main course. We had to stack them ourselves, which really shouldn’t happen. But overall, I still had a good time. The place is super cute for pictures, had to take advantage of it ;)
I’ll begin by saying, in the end, we had a good experience. However, there were some issues. We had a 1:30 pm reservation, for which we were promptly seated. Once seated there were multiple servers who walked past us several times and never acknowledged us. We sat for at least 10 minutes before a very sweet woman finally came over and asked if we’d been helped. Once we said no, she was very apologetic when taking our order and offered complimentary glasses of champagne for the wait. Next, our entrees came out and mine was incorrect. When I told the guy who brought it out that I ordered something different, he said what he gave me was that item even though it clearly wasn’t. Again, to the rescue was the sweet lady who’d been serving us. She apologized for the mistake and quickly got me the correct item. Towards the end of our meal, she offered us a complimentary dessert. Since we stayed for a while and they were beginning to close, they offered us sangria that they were making while experimenting with drinks for the menu. Ultimately all of our food was great and I loved the space. The restaurant design is lovely and it’s a great dining atmosphere.
Fig appetizer was delicious. Ordered cocktails, would def recommend Ella & Louis. The Martini Madness left a lot to be desired- oily texture and spicy odd taste. The Stuffed Quail was our favorite. I got the Halibut, not very seasoned and the Brussel sprouts were not pleasant in texture. This is a great atmosphere for a romantic date. Service was ok. A nice place to dress up and go out on the town locally. We would go back.
I was here for dinner. I was hoping for French food since this is a French restaurant, but it seems like that's because a lot of the wine is French, not the food. The food was fine, but overpriced for the portions and taste. The decor and ambiance is nice, but the people at the bar were very loud. The wine glasses and silverware all had hard water stains on them. We asked to speak to a somalier, but it sounded like they either didn't have one or our waiter wasn't sure what a somalier was. I had a better experience here a couple of years ago during Devour Indy, but I don't think I'll go back after this visit. It just seemed like an overpriced hotel restaurant.
First let me say the restaurant itself is beautiful. However the food was only ok and the lack of service heavily influenced this review. We waited well over 20 minutes for a server in a restaurant that only had 5 tables when we walked into for our reservation. We asked for drinks 4 separate times. When they finally found us a server, she was very nice and had explained she was still new and still familiarizing herself with everything. We ordered and it was still an exceptionally long time before we received our food. My daughter ordered an appetizer and it came out with her entree so that was a little disappointing. I ordered the lemon ricotta crepes and bacon. I was not happy. Unfortunately our server was only able to drop the food and leave. She wasn’t able to return and ask about our food or see if we needed little extras. By the time she returned most of us had finished .The bacon was burnt and the crepes were flavorless and overfilled with basic ricotta. The blueberry compote was beautifully made though so I will give props there. Overall I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I do believe the restaurant itself failed, it wasn’t entirely our servers fault. I expected a lot more. I don’t know if I would recommend but if you do go, I wouldn’t set high standards.
Food is pretty good. Service is slow and poor. You have to ask for salt and pepper for eggs at breakfast, ketchup with hamburger, crème and spoon for coffee. Where do they go to fetch this stuff? Takes a long time and food is cold by the time they return. Room is drafty and tables are uncomfortable because of large round pedestal supports that don’t allow your feet to rest anywhere near the table. Disappointing again this year.
We went to Vivante for the first time over Mothers Day weekend. We got fountain beverages and got a pulled pork sandwich, ravioli, and a grilled cheese for my son and it took over 2 hours to get in and out. The food was decent but overpriced for the quantity. The service was terrible. It's as if the waiting staff is in slow motion.
