A classic Italian family restaurant.. the new owners are from Nicolinos Italian restaurant that was on Date Palm Drive since 1985. Many great memories from that restaurant… hope to have many more at their new location.
What a fun casual place to hang out and have a drink and a bite to eat!
Best Italian- American restaurant around. You want the best quality and full service around. Go here, this is family style Italian restaurant that is so comforting reminding me of my Italian cooking skills there is no comparison to this food. Even gluten free options! If your a health nut like myself, this is the place where they have healthy options available. Personally have been eating here for along time nothing like a new year and good food with family and friends. Food is super fresh from Garlic cheese bread, to the Spaghetti and traditional Italian meatballs, better than you’ll know ! Gluten free pastas and making a delicious mixture with a mixed green salad can’t go wrong.
This is a comfortable restaurant situated next to a lovely pond with a fountain. When the weather is cool enough, we love to sit on the patio. The food, mostly Italian inspired, is delicious and well-served by friendly staff.
Gabrielle is awesome, the food is delicious. Too much Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra music, but this is a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or a drink at the bar. The owners are great and we look forward to going back soon.
Great place to eat. Grateful place to meet with friends.
An absolutely fabulous dinner celebrating my son’s birthday…the location might be different…the name might be different…but the welcoming family atmosphere and Italian food are definitely a part of the historic Coachella Valley restaurant experience seen here once again…,Thank you Cari …we are so excited that we found our favorite restaurant again ❤️… Art and Vickie Peterson and family
We've eaten there several times, by ourselves and with friends. Each time we all enjoyed our meals. I espically like the Eggplant Parmesan, Shrimp with Mushrooms, Chicken Marsala and from the lunch menu Reubens and the Cheese Steak. We're excited to go back and try the Lasagna!
A delight. The very rare combination of service, tastes, price and atmosphere, all bundled into Nick's Italian Bistro. Special mention to Jay and Carrie...
Went to dinner tonight at this place for the company Christmas party! It was a cozy little place with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the pond on the one side! We had appetizers a wonderful delicious salad with two different pizza appetizers a margarita, pizza, appetizer, and a meat appetizer pizza! The main course options were lasagna, sausage and peppers and chicken, marsala, and all the food and everything was amazing hot fresh flavorful, and delicious! The service was superior and very friendly and they treated you more like family than they did a customer! I will definitely be back to this place again in the future as everything from the food service and ambience was amazing! It is a little tricky and hard to find but if you're willing to give it a try, I definitely recommend this amazing place! And big shout out to the staff for letting the company host their Christmas party here as they are normally closed on weekends, but they opened up for us to have a wonderful and awesome Christmas party. Thanks again.!
Eggplant Parmesan was very good. Casual atmosphere and reasonable prices. Not busy at all and plentiful parking.
Had a fantastic dinner Friday nite and enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting Kerri the owner. E. Billy Thompson was singing and always brings couples to the dancing floor. Be sure to visit Nick’s Bistro at Date Palm CC open to the public.
Fun place good selection of food for goid prices Friendly servers And go see Carol sing and entertain
Love, love , love the breakfast here! The hash browns are real potatoes (not frozen!) and cooked perfectly. I've ordered eggs here three times and they were cooked exactly right each time. The breakfast burrito is super tasty and the house made salsa rocks! The service is excellent and the entire staff is friendly - Gabby (our food server) and Kari (the manager) are the best! And, we love the fact we can take our mini poodle and eat on the patio while enjoying the relaxing sight of the ducks and geese in the nearby pond. Highly recommended!
I may be biased because I live here at Date Palm Country Club, but my fiance and I love Nick's. The food is great and the atmosphere is so friendly that if you can't have a good time here, it's you that's not trying. It's tough running a restaurant in our community because of the seasons, so if any of you are here for the summer, please support this restaurant because we don't want to lose this one for our community and for our city. You won't be disappointed. Try their sausage and peppers over spaghetti, you will love it. Tell them Frank & Jackie sent you.

My husband and I ate there the other day with our realtor and his wife, Ernie & Judy. We have a Labradoodle Support dog that was welcomed. Our waiter was fabulous and food the same.

We went to celebrate our friend's birthday. The original Nick's was in a strip mall across the street. It moved into the Date Palm Country Club restaurant and T's on the Green became Nick's Bistro. Good food. Good service. Old facilities.

I’ve been several times now and this team clearly knows what they’re doing. Friendly and accessible staff deliver great food in a lovely room or patio overlooking a pond and green. It’s simply excellent across the board. Breakfast is a real treat and the dinner entrees are done with mastery.
The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the noise level. There was live music on and it was deafening. We considered going somewhere quieter for dinner but they found a table at the back of the bar for us where the noise level wasn't as bad. Considering that most of the patrons were in their 70's and 80's I'm surprised that the noise level doesn't generate more complaints. The servers were very nice and attentive. The food was mediocre. We ordered a large Caesar salad (misspelled on the menu BTW) and calamari to share. We waited quite a long time for the appetizers. The salad was OK. The calamari were bland and not crispy enough. My wife and I had pastas which were OK. The servings were generous. My son ordered a pizza. He asked for the crust to be well done but it was limp. We won't be back.
Sad that this place isnt better. Been a few times and ther forgot our order twice. And the other time it took an hour to get a pizza that just sat there and was cold when they served it. They can do better
First off, I wish this restaurant all the best, we enjoyed the food when they were Niccolinos in a plaza on Date Palm, now moved to the Date Palm Golf Course. However our experiences…… My wife and I had lunch after a golf game (dec 11)… food was ok, took awhile to make and there was only one other table of two .. that said we reserved a table the next night, dec 12 (a Thursday) for dinner. Got to the restaurant at 5:15, were seated, only others were a table of 6 already eating. Music was not soft it was mixed feed of soft hard rock, guns and roses. lol, we laughed because at lunchtime they play nice Dean Martin. … really, think about your atmosphere please… unless of course that is what you want to play …just not our choice. Our Waitress was nice, was clear she was new, she said it, and perhaps (as we found out) not fully trained in waitressing tables. We Ordered the house wine (cab sav) was good.. and an appy, mozza sticks, also good especially the marinara sauce. … we had also ordered our meals, lasagna for my wife and I got the linguini and clams with 1/2 order of garlic toast (they dont bring bread to your table. Well, wine came and then mozza sticks (in about 15 min), sipped wine, after 40 min no main food, by now 2 other tables of 2 people had come in, ordered and were served … ok so we now know there is an issue. The other waitress came and asked us if we were ok, and if ordering food … we said we had. she went to check. Our waitress came 5 min later to say the food was coming, blamed it on the kitchen. Food came (main meal 55 min after it was ordered), my wifes meal was warm only, mine was piping hot. Obviously her’s sat while they cooked mine .. I never did get my toast it was coming they said … I ate half my meal and they said it was coming still … told them not to bother. The lasagne was just ok, but the linguine and clams was very good. Well long story to say, mgmt needs to watch the room, especially a rookie waitress (help her, train her), and not spend time in the lounge mingling with clientele (and I know the owner knows what I am talking about). Mgmt did visit the table next to us of 6 people as they finished, obviously she knew them, but did not even acknowledge us … hey people do like to know you are happy to have them in your restaurant … mgmt 101. Well will we go back?, likely not. We are in town seasonally every year so will move onto other italian restaurants, as there are plenty in PSP. That said, try it out, hopefully mgmt reads (we are not blaming the new waitress, this is a mgmt issue,)and addresses their shortfalls so your experience is better than ours.

One of the worst experiences I have experienced at a restaurant. I can’t do dairy, so figured I would order pasta marinara, nothing fancy. That turned out to have cheese in the sauce. The staff was (at first) very nice and accommodating. They actually brought me out 2 other dishes, (once I was told the marinara had cheese in it) which I really appreciated. None were great. I probably took 2 bites and they took away the plates. I was so disappointed. I typically can go to any Italian restaurant in the valley and get a pasta dish with no cheese. Then they charged me for one of the dishes, which surprised me, since they took away a basic full plate each time. Didn’t even ask if I (or my husband) wanted to take it home. My husband would have taken it to go, if he knew they were going to charge us. The worst part was when we were leaving and one of the owners came over and asked if everything was ok. I was quite upset and at first said nothing. He literally looked at my husband, laughed and said “good luck to you”. I couldn’t believe an owner of a restaurant would mock a customer like that. After that I tried to explain what happened. He said “you come here when you have a dairy allergy?” Again, totally mocking me. When I explained that they charged me, he asked, “did you eat it?” I said “maybe 2 bites or so, but that’s it” He said to my husband “sorry for you” and walked away, went over to a table where a bartender and another staff member was and said “you’re not going to believe this story” and pointed at me. I have never experienced an owner of a restaurant treating a customer so badly. I tried to be so nice to the staff, and felt really bad about sending the food back. In fact I told them, I really wanted this place to make it. (Since they have only been open a little over 2 months) I will never go back and still can’t believe an owner treated a customer that way. I was completely appalled at the way I was mocked and treated. He obviously doesn’t know how to treat customers with respect.
This was my first time here. I was excited to order food. Placed an order to go. I had to wait about 40 mins to find out my order was wrong. When the right food finally came out the presentation looked like it was just thrown together. The food was very bland. Chicken Alfredo sauce was extremely watery. Morzella sticks were very salty. The only satisting item was my Shirley Temple. Disappointed with the food flavor and not worth the price.
