We Senior Citizen couple from India had nice dinner time on 27th June 2025 at Santa Catarina Mexican Restaurant in Austin Texas USA. The ambiance inside the restaurant with massive mirrors and other colourful hangings around such ambience is wonderful experience. We had Memorable experience @ tasty food items made us to come here again and again.

10/10 lunch experience. Highly recommend the bottom option on the specials page. Pork in a banana leaf. Great portion, lasted 2 1/2 meals. Awesome, fun atmosphere for kids too. Will be back when I am in the area again! The salsa was killer too.

Enjoyed my lunch with my bestie. The restaurant ambience is cozy, and restroom is disinfected and clean too. Server is polite and great. Made good recommendations. Ingredients are fresh and delish. Taste is balanced and healthy. Enjoyed my time and would definitely visit again.

This was our first visit and we were very happy with the experience. The food was good and the presentation of the food was even better (see photos), the portions good and the service was excellent. There were 3 tvs in view with sports on that I enjoyed when the conversation waned. It's quite a drive from our house, so I'm not sure when we will return, but if you are in the area, I highly recommend it.

You can get Tex Mex anywhere in Austin, but this is real interior Mexican recipes and they do a great job. Very tasty food, at reasonable prices.

great atmosphere and service. nice patio with water fountain. tex mex cuisine. homade tortillas. great food presentation however dishes need more sazon/flavor. sope were good proportion topping to cornmeal. the vegetables were al'dente and buttery. i love cabbage over lettuce. ask for extra salsa to add to your dish. I would visit again.

My daughter loves this place and it is a good place to go with family or a crowd of people. It usually has seating available and we had 11 in our group. We all ordered chicken and steak fajitas! I consider their food good but not great but I will have to say the fajitas really hit the spot. Tatiana was our server and she was great. So efficient and friendly. Clean restrooms and a great playground for the kids. We will be back for sure!

We stopped in with a couple of friends expecting a casual drink and maybe a few bites but we got so much more. Let me be clear: this is not your run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex joint. The flavors were bold, authentic, and absolutely delicious. We started with just drinks and a plan to share a few appetizers. The margaritas? Spot on. Perfectly balanced not too sweet, not too strong and dangerously easy to enjoy. But the real surprise? The appetizers. These things were massive. We ordered three to split and ended up with enough food for the next day’s lunch and dinner. Rookie mistake, but no complaints here. Service was a bit on the slower side, both with food and drinks, but the laid-back atmosphere made it easy to enjoy the company. Trying to pronounce some of the dishes was like a throwback to Spanish class, which gave us all a laugh and added to the fun of the evening. Bottom line: great food, excellent drinks, and generous portions. I’ll definitely be back—next time with an emptier stomach and maybe a Spanish cheat sheet!

Great service. Nice ambience and the food was amazing. They got the meat right-medium rare and my plate was delish! I had a bite of the ceviche my friend had and yummy shrimp. I only had water to drink after our work out but my friends had their margarita and I took a picture because they look refreshing! Go try and see for yourself! Recommended!

Service was solid. My friend enjoyed his enchiladas. My soft tacos failed as tacos, but tasted good. The tortillas are flimsy and couldn't stand up to the job.

The layout has changed since our last visit, no more booths, it's a lot more open and illuminated, but still a lovely ambiant. There's an outdoor area with a patch for kids to run around in - wish we'd seen that before being seated, but it was cold and rainy anyway. The menu is also substantially different. Several items have very unique combinations of ingredients. The pulled pork chile rejeno has raisins, walnut sauce, and pomegranate in it. I'm sure it's fine, but it caught me off guard. I went with the regular pulled pork enchiladas, which were incredibly filling. It was tasty, though somewhat plain. The verde sauce was nice. The pricing was surprisingly reasonable given how much everything is everywhere else these days. The kids fajita beef plate was perfect for our picky child, and she ravenously devoured her entire plate and heaping portion of black beans. The kids quesadilla was also a hit. We'd come back just because the kids actually ate their food! 😅 Service was top notch. A significant improvement over our last visit. Kyla was very attentive, showed care, and was all around lovely.

Been away for a minute and when I left this was my go to spot for fajitas. I ordered my usual steak fajitas with extra tortillas my food came out way too fast meaning it was already pre made. The plate wasn’t sizzling like usual. The steak was dry and any time you have to add table salt to flavor the dish in my opinion is not good it was really lacking flavor. The tortillas was still freshly made there just wasn’t put in a tortilla warmer. The salsa and chips wasn’t what I remembered. The atmosphere was ok the food just needs more work.

The positive is that the location is very nice. The servers are kind and I’ve never had an issue. I’ve been here three separate times, and I’ve been underwhelmed by the food all three times. The food, to the chefs credit, looks deceivingly good, but unfortunately every plate I’ve ordered has lacked taste. It's Austin Mexican food if you like that. Leather menu. High prices. Black beans instead of refried. I wasn't impressed with anything... Tomatillo salsa seemed like a miss match with the chips that weren't strong enough for the salsa. I got beef fajita tacos from the lunch menu. It was around $18, came with 2 tacos and I was still hungry afterwards. Tortillas were thin and leathery. It just wasn't for me. I wouldn't have left a review, but I was prompted by the restaurant or Maps multiple times (at least once a day for five days) and I want the notifications to go away. Maybe their mixed drinks are good? I don't know. I'm not going back.

Since they opened, my wife and I have gone to this neighborhood restaurant with a nice atmosphere, excellent service, good drinks, a few good entrees, and the best nachos we've ever had. However, after not going for a while and lots of family in tow, we decided to treat them to those nachos. Well, same atmosphere, ok service, good drinks, the nachos arrived at our table. Just the appearance told the story. On a half a crispy tortilla chip were two tiny little pieces of beef, a little cheese over a paper thin smear of refried black beans. All topped off with a couple thin slices of pickled red onion. I was mortified! These used to be piled high with these same ingredients plus shredded lettuce, but they were fresh, flavorful, and inviting. You could easily make a meal of them. Sadly, we all left for some decent Tex-Mex elsewhere.
