The fish was fresh, the rolls were creative, and the flavors spot on. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.
First time visit has convinced us to be on the regulars list, our host “Grace” was exceptional she guided us through the menu selections with ease. Her recommendations for my mom was just about right. Land Of Sushi has something for everyone, must try eatery in Denver. They get 5 stars from me.
I sincerely appreciate the level of customer service. The food is always perfect. I did start to nibble on this food, but I had to leave a good review today.
Excellent place for lunch! Wasn't too busy. I got the seafood udon and I thought it was soup 🫠 it was tasty nonetheless! We liked the selection of items. We like being able to see the chefs create all the food.
We’ve been going for years. The sushi is extremely fresh, service is always friendly, and drinks are great.
We almost totally overlooked this place because it’s rather unassuming from the outside but I’m so glad we went in!! The food is super delicious. The ambiance is great as is the service. Highly recommend!
Love this place. Andrew is the best server I’ve had at any restaurant. He’s so personable. The food is also delicious. 10/10!
Date night win! Meg and I keep coming back to Land of Sushi—it’s been around forever, but somehow it still feels fresh, modern, and just plain good. The ambience is warm and inviting, and while we’re not quite regulars yet, it’s the kind of place where the servers do know their regulars by name. Goals, right? This spot is a local favorite for a reason. The seaweed salad? Absolutely get it. Light, flavorful, and topped with just the right amount of sesame crunch. Miso soup is solid and comforting. And the sushi rolls are all delicious. Everything’s beautifully plated and incredibly fresh. As a longtime Colorado resident and local real estate agent, I’m always looking for those gems to recommend to clients relocating to South Denver—and this is one I should point to often. If you’re hunting for the best sushi in the area (especially near Parker or DTC), Land of Sushi needs to be on your list.
Fantastic food for a very reasonable price. Everything we had was delicious, we'll absolutely be back.
We love this place! The staff is always so welcoming and the vibes are great. The fish is so fresh tasting and their food is excellent! They have 3-5 sushi chefs at any time which is so much fun to watch. They are usually busy, so a reservation is helpful.
Excellent service, always smiling and helpful. I’ve been here a couple of times and everything is absolutely perfect, sushi, gyozas, ramen, yummy! Dinner time is a bit crowded but nothing crazy. Lunch time was better with a lot of room, but still perfect service every single time.
This review is long overdue—this place is amazing! We finally didn’t inhale our delicious sushi rolls and can add photos to a review. The sushi here is always top notch, absolutely fresh and generous juicy cuts of premium fish or Kobe steak. For a light appetizer the spicy edamame is exceptional; the perfect balance of garlic and spice. For a more filling appetizer the calamari is fried to perfection and served with two tasty sauces. Our favorite rolls include the Samurai, the Poke, and top choice is the Viking. The salmon belly on the Viking roll is truly some of the best we have ever had (rivaling Southern California sushi). Also, Land of Sushi is one of the few sushi locations that has authentic fresh wasabi not the pickled wasabi that is often presented as “fresh”. Most importantly the service here is always above and beyond polite. The staff is always welcoming and provides great recommendations. Our server always asks to bring our toddler’s chicken and veggie fried rice out first ensuring a pleasant experience for parents with little ones.
Love boat is super good and enough food for two meals(My husband and I eat a lot so I can say it's a lot of food). This is where my husband and I had uni for the first time and it was so fresh and delicious. We always do take out due to the place being crowded but they always pack things really well. One down side is their Miso soup tastes like tap water. However, if you want delicious sashimi, sushi and tempura, this is the place.
Excellent fresh sushi, nigiri or udon noodles. Succulent crunchy gyoza and satisfying misu. Huge selection to choose from, fantastically friendly and courtesy service with options to alternate meals for children's palate. Great original desserts. Absolute must for sushi lovers.
Amazing spot for sushi at its best and the Japanese culture always serves the best 👌 will come back in the future; Couldn't resist buying a bottle of "Tears Of Dawn" Sake to go had a few orders of their Habachi Orange Roll and the Lobster roll as well as the Salmon Teriyaki was all taste bud exposing 😋
So delicious!! The staff was great, the gyoza was crispy, and the sashimi and spider roll were our absolute favorite thing we tried. The lemon tiramisu was fantastic too
I always forget how good this place is. I had the lunch special and my wife had the udon. Yummy
Been going here for years. Great sushi!
Always enjoy their service and sushi. They recently renovated and added more seating both inside and out. Noticed a slight increase in prices, which I guess comes with growing!
Very good sushi. A myriad of lunch specials I was feeling hungry and opted for the chirashi which starts with soup and salad and then gives you a mound of sushi rice with several pieces of fish and tamago (egg custard) on the side. The quality of the fish is exceptional and the tuna, salmon and yellowtail were like butter. Very nice staff who refilled my water several times. The space is nice (last time it was much smaller as they expanded several years ago) Cant wait to go back.
Very fresh sushi, the Sushi + Sashimi combo is quite a bit of food!
Reasonably priced and solid food. Fresh. Great lunch menus also. Great service as well.
Really nice place. Great staff and owner all very friendly. Very good food. Highly recommend.
Wow! Blown away by this place! And man was it popular on a Saturday night. We loved all our orders & our server was absolutely perfect. She was funny & engaged but let us have fun. Definitely will be visiting this place again!
The sushi was beautifully prepared and fresh. But the staff truly made the whole experience worthwhile. They were extremely attentive and friendly.
We had sushi, dessert crème bruelle, egg rolls, dumplings, and seasoned chicken w rice. So delicious & staff were friendly/knowledgeable - will return!(:
My husband and I tried their Omakase night recently and had a great time! Omakase is chefs choice- every bite was delicious! The flavors and presentation of every plate was thoughtfully executed. The drinks were also very good. We got full fast! Jessie and her team are attentive and on point! We’ll be back soon!
Wow ! We sat at the sushi bar and our server Gabriel is amazing ! He’s hands down the best server my wifeand I have had in the years we’ve been coming to Land of sushi . Highly recommend the okamase dinners ! So good and the price is unbeatable .
Good service, friendly greeting, nice atmosphere, and good food. I ordered a combo platter which was very basic so I’d like to come back and try other options. Very nice restaurant.
Awesome Japanese restaurant. The waitresses were extremely cheerful and friendly. Came here to celebrate my birthday with my family, definitely a 10/10 experience, will be coming back soon.
This place has absolutely delicious, high-quality sushi for an exceptional price point. Our waitress, Jenny, was so kind and attentive to our needs. Everything here, from the food to the staff, is on point — and the atmosphere is intimate and warm. We love it and highly recommend!
Land of Sushi is an unassuming hidden gem that isn't so hidden anymore. Land of Sushi is easily among the best sushi restaurants in the greater Denver area. It has the quality of places like Sushi Den while being small, cozy, and comparatively inexpensive. It used to be pretty easy to walk in and get a table, but as the word has started to get out, it may be worth making a reservation (at least for dinner).
My apologies! I just realized I mistakenly posted a review for a different place here on Land of Sushi's page. I appreciate the owner reminding me. Rather than deleting it (I deleted the photos and previous comments), I'll leave the review up so it's clear I made this error.
Happened to stop by on a whim and what a great find. Excellent food and excellent service. Really enjoyed our meal and we definitely plan on coming back again.
Great place! Let me give some details that may not be in other reviews. The restaurant is immaculate and the restrooms are immaculate too. The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of eight with no problem, take orders in a timely manner, and bring out the food and cold food was cold and hot food was plenty hot. Our orders covered the spectrum of the offerings - it's more than sushi: dinners that include pork, chicken, steak/beef, tofu, shellfish, something for everyone. Special attention is given to presentation (looks good) and any vegetables (or salads) are properly prepared, not ignored. It's Valentine's Day and roses were on every table. It was an excellent experience that I recommend to anyone looking for a good meal.
If you want incredible sushi, a fun atmosphere, and phenomenally great experience…. Land of sushi is where you go!!! My wife and I have gone here for years and the management has been so so great! They remember your name, remember your orders, and will throw in a fun surprise every so often. Jasmine and Gia- we love you guys! Genuinely, one of the best date night restaurants we always go to. We love this place and it just gets better and better! Thank you Land of Sushi
This place is a gem! The place was hopping on Wednesday night which is always a good sign to me. Small bar but great spaced dining room and well appointed and spacious sushi bar. The rolls and sashimi were amazing, so fresh! The rolls were equally delicious, great sized, and ingredients were so well paired, so creative and yummy! We tried a variety of items, 6 different rolls, sashimi, gyoza, garlic edamame, hot sake and the green tea creme brulee and everything was delicious! 100% recommend! Our server was super sweet, we will be back!
Great service & food. Our waiter, Aldi, was very engaging & had us laughing with his humor. He recommended golden(?) Saki that had a slight orange flavor & I loved it. (I don't usually like saki) & then recommended the raspberry saki & it was great, too. We'll be back!
The quality of fish here is top notch compared to surrounding sushi restaurants. Their sushi and sashimi combos have a variety of fish, and they all taste great. The price is about average, so given the location, you’re getting some great value. The restaurant itself is in an older shopping center that could use a bit of TLC. Otherwise, great restaurant, and an easy recommend for sushi in the highlands ranch/centennial area.
We had a lovely sushi dinner. Very fresh quality fish. I will definitely keep this place on my list for greatsushi
Ten years, I've frequented for the food and service. Not only quality Sushi, but also Sukiyaki and other fun house specialties. I sat in front of the chefs, hoping for quicker service. It took longer, but I was fully entertained. Uni is not always available and market price for a single Sashimi was $13. When such specialties ARE available, they should be served only at their best quality. But in our present pandemic effected world, restaurant supply chains continue suffering delays & shortages, so be forgiving when dining out.
Great sushi spot near the Regal movie theater and mall across the street, great service, very fast, friendly and efficient; all of the sashimi was very fresh and delicious, portion sizes a could be a more generous but all good either way, will definitely be back when in the area.
This was a slightly underwhelming experience. The service was actually really good. The servers were very nice and aware of our needs. However, the sushi rolls are so expensive and the taste does not live up to the expectation. It seems as though they are trying to be so unique and inventive that the tastes get muddled and contradict each other. I would suggest simplifying the rolls slightly to let each flavor shine through on it's own.
It was good because it was a good restraint that does its best in food. Next time, I should try Omakase course!!!
It's been years since I've been able to stop by but we were in the area so decided to get some dinner here. They have expanded the restaurant quite a bit and the environment is clean and modern. The restaurant was packed when we arrived but we were able to grab a high-top table next to the bar but the staff was hustling to keep up with all the people. Unfortunately they were out of the lamb carpaccio that night which was one of my usual orders, so we had the Jalepeno Hamachi and Tempura appetizers along with a regular sashimi dinner. The dinner came with miso soup and a salad. The Hamachi appetizer was the best by far (4 stars), and the sashimi and salad were decent (3 stars). The sashimi comes with 12 pieces (4 types of fish with 3 pieces) and it was a mixed bag when it came to how well they tasted. Miso soup was a 2, and unfortunately the tempura was a 1. I have to call out the tempura since I've had some really great versions recently. The 2 shrimp physically looked different from the veggies in the type of breading - it was a yellow color and fine grains vs the brownish of the veggies. They tasted like they had been precooked or something and I didn't feel good after eating them. The veggies were soggy and the whole dish was really disappointing. Our server was very friendly and generally attentive. But overall I really can't recommend this place anymore. Without the tempura I would give it 3 stars.
So disappointed. I have been here many times and always had a great time. This was the first time we ordered take out and it was valentines day so I figured it would take longer that's totally to be expected. But if you can't fill orders in a timely manner then updated the expected time or stop accepting orders. The order was place at 4:54pm the original ETA was 5:34pm. The order was handed to my husband at 7:04pm. There was never any updated given and he had to stand out on the patio. He would have at least sat in his car to stay warm but he didn't want to miss our order. This was a crazy amount of time to wait without any update, please give your customers the respect of owning it is taking longer and give them an update. Also the warm entree we ordered wasn't even warm even after waiting that long. We will never order takeout from here again.
The service at Land of Sushi was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately the food didn’t meet expectations. The sushi rolls were mostly mayo-based and came out lukewarm, which affected both texture and flavor. Overall, the taste was average and nothing really stood out. If you prefer fresh, clean sushi flavors, this may not be the best fit. However, those who enjoy creamy, mayo-style rolls might like it more.
I cannot stress enough how utterly disappointing and frustrating this experience was. Before even stepping foot in the restaurant, I had my sights set on the omakase. I called ahead, confirmed that the 14-course option would be available, and was told the monthly 20-course version would not. That was completely fine—14 courses still sounded fantastic. We arrived at Land of Sushi on Valentine's Day with a reservation, only to be seated 45 minutes late. Now, I’ve worked in restaurants most of my adult life, including as a hostess, so I understand how things can get backed up. While my companion was frustrated, I remained optimistic—after all, this place had glowing reviews. After finally getting seated, we ordered drinks and both committed to the omakase. But here’s where the cracks started to show: I watched our drinks sit at the bar for over 20 minutes before they were brought to us. Not ideal, but I was still focused on the meal ahead. The menu (photo attached) clearly stated: ➡ "12 unique pieces of sushi prepared by our chef with precision and artistry. Served with smoked tomato and lobster bisque, and coconut panna cotta." First course: the bisque. No complaints—it was delicious, rich, and smoky with clear seafood flavors. A promising start! Then... we waited. And waited. 30 minutes passed before our next course arrived. When it finally did, I was confused: 🔹 2 oysters 🔹 2 needlefish nigiri 🔹 2 snapper nigiri I assumed, okay, maybe this omakase serves two nigiri of each type, which is actually quite generous! But the excitement stopped there. Those first few pieces of fish did not taste fresh, were overly chewy, and somewhat slimy. I adore nigiri, yet I couldn’t even finish these. The oysters at least were fine. When I asked the server what the nigiri were, he didn’t know. I mean if you are serving omakase, at least educate the staff on what they are serving. The whole point of it, is to be surprised by the choices, but when you try them you at least know what you are trying. It took him 20 minutes to return with an answer, long after the plates had been cleared. A Pattern Emerges Next course: 🔹 2 salmon nigiri 🔹 2 mackerel nigiri 🔹 2 smoked aji (I think—no one told us, so I had to guess from their specials menu) These were slightly better. I could eat them, but still, nothing close to what you expect from an omakase experience. My thoughts at this point were - ok the first 6 nigiris were not great, but it can only get better right? RIGHT? Then, the real kicker: Our server came by and casually asked if we were ready for the panna cotta… Wait. What? I asked, "Can you clarify—when the menu says ‘12 unique pieces,’ you actually mean 2 of 6 kinds of nigiri? That’s what you're calling a 14-course omakase?" "Yes," he said. Stunned, I watched him go speak with the owner. He returned with an even more ridiculous response: "The owner says that's not the right menu. That menu is for the monthly omakase." Absolutely not. That is a blatant lie. The monthly omakase is 20 courses. I knew this because I researched it beforehand. And if it were truly the wrong menu, why were they still charging us the full price of the 14-course omakase? If this was a mistake, the response should have been an apology, a correction, or something to make it right. Instead, the owner stood back and chose to let the server take the fall. She didn't come to the table, or nothing, just stood by the bar watching. I felt bad for the server because the moment he told me that I knew and he knew that it was bullshit. Bottom line - This "omakase" was a complete ripoff. The food quality was subpar, the service was slow, and the entire omakase experience felt like a scam. We spent $200, left a lot of the food untouched, and had to grab a burger on the way home. I've read the positive reviews, and maybe if we had ordered from the regular menu, it would have been a different story. Perhaps the monthly omakase is actually good. But if you are considering doing their regular "14 course" omakase? DO. NOT. WASTE. YOUR. MONEY.
Food was alright, nothing special. The service was not what we expected. Slow and inattentive servers. After having to flag a server (they kept passing by our table) they brought food we didn't order, no one cared to pick our appetizer plates or refill our drinks without asking for it. We ordered the sushi boat ( sushi places usually explain to you what's what, but we had to ask for it before the server disappeared again). At one point they were standing around, not paying attention to customers (I've included a picture). I hope they improve on this issue as I don't like to see any restaurant fail.
I can’t believe I paid $20 for a spicy crispy tuna that was so plain in taste. I can spend $20 at sushi Katsu for all you can eat with same quality. Over priced, would not recommend.
