SUM: 10/10 recommend. Welcome sight, warm welcome, and good food for sore eyes and hungry belly after a long day of fast but skinny Texas driving. Sliced beef sandwich was really good! Daddy's BBQ is better but that could just be the Yankee in me talking. I was talked into a cinnamon roll (which btw is about the size of an 8 inch pie), and THAT I can say was the best I've ever had. Customer service was A+++. The men's room needed a little attention so I did let them know. Stopped for a 10 hour break, parking is free if you stay with your truck, $10 if you leave your truck. Not as much parking as a Pilot, but more than you'd expect to see from a small Texas town after running farm and state roads for 12 hours.

I have traveled between Dallas and Houston for over 40 years and have been eating at Woody’s and watching it grow in all that time. Woody’s has the BEST chopped beef sandwiches (includes yummy pinto beans!) and hickory beef jerky in all of the I-45 corridor, and for very reasonable prices, even over the well-known beaver store, which I also go to regularly. Friendly staff. Bathrooms are also very clean. You will not be disappointed!

A friend recommended stopping by on my way home to Dallas from Houston, Tx. When it comes to BBQ he doesn’t miss, so the family decided to make a quick detour and the best way to describe it was “A Texan dying and going to heaven”. The atmosphere is amazing and the BBQ is even better. My kids are young and intrigued by BBQ. My daughter LOVED the turkey and any my son (7) had to try anything with a jalapeño. I highly recommend the Turkey Leg and the Quail Wrapped in Bacon. The beans are mediocre though, which was a surprise to me. But the BBQ was reasonably priced for areas in Dallas and they aren’t half as good. Will definitely stop by for other pickled items and BBQ in the future. The fudge was also really good.

The brisket and smoked pork and sausage sandwich’s where delicious. But pie..yummy! Get truck stop and great food selection. Definitely stop by for a warm meal.

By far the BEST bbq I have had in Texas. I’m in the state often and assumed (…I know) …. that every bbq spot would be on point cause…. It’s Texas BBQ like what else should you think. Not really true tho lol. THIS place is the BEST I’ve had.

Take plenty of money because you are going to want one of everything! There is so much in this place and it’s all good, so good! We tried bakery goods and meat goods and were happy with it all, also had the chopped beef bbq sandwiches and, aside from liking my bbq sweeter, they were very filling and definitely worth the money. Great place to grab something different and delicious!

Stopped at Woody’s Smokehouse on our way back from Dallas. We tried the brisket and ribs. The ribs were a bit dry, but the brisket was good and had nice flavor. We also shared a jumbo cookie and it was delicious, definitely a highlight. Overall a solid stop, and we’d visit again if we’re in the area.

Great location for a quick pit stop to fuel up, grab a bite, and stretch your legs. The inside is clean, well-organized, and has a fun selection of custom goods and snacks to browse while you’re there. My go-to is usually the turkey sandwich—good portion, solid taste, and priced right.Customer service has consistently been friendly and efficient, which makes the stop even more worthwhile. The only drawback is the limited parking and small number of gas pumps, so it can feel crowded during busy times, especially when cars linger at the pump instead of moving. Given how common pump crowding is at gas stations, it really helps when drivers move to a parking spot after fueling so others can fill up without waiting. If you can snag a pump or a parking spot, it’s absolutely worth the stop for a quick sandwich, some snacks, and a clean, convenient break from the road.

I stopped at the southbound location for a quick lunch. The service at the BBQ counter is great, filling my order for a chopped beef sandwich and a side of beans quickly. I got a drink from the fountain and paid for all at on of their several cashiers. The store is quite large, offering plenty of ready to eat BBQ and deli sandwiches. They have bulk BBQ and meats and many other general store items, too. It is definitely more than just a "gas station". There are several tables available to eat inside, too. Overall, a very positive experience with good BBQ, too!

Woody’s - Great spot to rest off I45! Jerky, Jerky and more Jerky! Every kind of jerky ever made. They give out FREE jerky samples. Great Barbecue. We had sliced brisket sandwiches, so good. They have jars of anything you can fit in a jar! See my pictures. Thousands of them! Oh yeah, they also are a Shell station, so stop for gas and fill up on Jerky! 😁👍🏼

Im writing about the beef jerky. Many of the items I buy here are very good. I wanted to try some jerky here because most meat i buy here are great tasting and reasonably priced. Now the price is a bit high on the jerky but I know what it takes to make it. The taste is ok.I noticed the heat was perfect but the salt and sugar was kinda over powered. Also the unique flavor you get from jerky was not there for me. The texture was visibly pleasing but it was dry and mealy on some pieces. The texture on some was like bacon(which I love) chewy but crispy which was a great texture which I never had in jerky. Now I brought the jalapeno beef jerky and spent 20 dollars on it. I wanted to give them a try and one peice isn't enough to justify any review. This is why I gave a 3star. I believe it could be more moist but I'll try another round next time around.

Cold brisket, I mean cold…no flavor, let the manager know, she asked me to warm it up! Wow, hot foods are supposed to be kept hot for health reasons, warmed up food looses flavor even further. At $20.00 a pound it an average price for smoked brisket in central Texas but the quality of the meat was subpar when compares to other places in the area. I am a truck driver and have stopped at many smoke houses in Texas and woody’s south bound is at the bottom out of 30 plus places where I have tried smoked briskets. Place has clean bathrooms chairs leave much to be desired. If coming south about 20 miles south of Hutchins at a Love’s truck stop you will find a top notch place to eat good brisket.

Really cool store and good service. The food was bland. Brisket was dry, beans flavorless, bacon wrapped shrimp had a weird taste. I did go around 8pm so It probably was at the end of the day and been sitting around. Feel like it was a wasted $20 also there wasn’t any bbq sauce in the bag. I’d definitely stop by for the store got my daughter a little cow plushy and she loves it. Didn’t purchase any of the jerky or pastries but they did look really good.
