You can walk in or use the drive thru. It was nice and cool inside, great service, great food and they now have TVs on the wall. Love the old fashion burger.

This is one of my old-time favorites. Fosters Freeze has been around longer than I've been alive, and it never disappoints. I always enjoy going there when I'm in town.

AMAZING!! I go here for lunch and this place is amazing and full of deals. During the summer and sometimes during the school year... they have a dollar food item which is always good and they give you a decent amount. The manager is amazing as well he trainee his employees really well.

As usual, the only Foster freeze left in Stanislaus County was delicious. they usually have a special combo meal going on but if they don't you find the prices a little bit high. However if you want that taste that reminds me of my childhood do stop by the Foster freeze in Ceres on whitmore. There's hardly ever a crowd and you will not regret it. Don't forget the frosty for dessert!

This Foster's Freeze is good. I ordered my food and the Associate for Foster's was fast and very professional. My order was prepared promptly and correctly. The food was good hot and fresh. Inside and outside of restaurant was clean and presentable. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again and I highly recommend that others do as well to keep the small independent establishments afloat in these trying times. Go pay Foster's a visit for a good 'ol fashioned burger and fries .... don't forget the shake as those are delicious too!

My mom and I bought the 6.99 classic combos and they were way worth the money! The burgers were huge and made nicely plus the girl at the drive in was so friendly and nice!

I LOVE this place! We were traveling home from San Diego and desperately wanted some Foster's Freeze because the nearest one to where I live is in Auburn, CA. The day I came in the manager and her two girls working with her were very attentive and very sweet. We will be planning another road trip soon and will be stopping in on our way up and back home🤗

Came here for a late lunch and got a Big Boss burger combo with onion rings and a worms 'n dirt twister. Everything was delicious! 😋 The twister is yummy too! Gotta love gummies and chocolate! 🍦 It was pretty empty when we went, but the food came out within 6 minutes. It was pretty clean inside and outside. The employees were nice. They have a variety of burgers too! Beef, chicken, and turkey. Also plenty of sides too, like chicken strips, corn dogs, chili fries, onion rings, and waffle cut fries. TONS of Twisters flavors as well. Only complaint is that there's not very many soda options, but you can expect that from a small and old burger and ice cream joint. I prefer Coke products, but they only had Pepsi. 😢 Other than that, no complaints. 😊 It's right next to Ceres high and right off the main road. Hard to miss. Plenty of parking and has a drive-thru as well! Definitely coming here again. 😍

We were out of town in Ceres and came upon this place late at night. Drive-thru was the only thing open but it was okay. The place, around the place, was so clean! That was what I noticed first. Even near the dumpster area! Then they were fairly fast to take, process money, and give us the order. We decided to sit at the front on the benches. Nice cool air out. The hot dog was excellent and the peach milkshake was too! Everything was very pleasant and nice. I'd recommend this Foster's lovation to everyone!!

I have been to numerous foster freezes over the years, with my most favorite being the one in Modesto that was closed sometime mid 2010s that was owned by the nicest couple ever! This one is a very close second :-) the girls who work here are always so nice and so kind, even though they’re very busy, they always there with a smile on their face!! Love how they all work together as well, they seem like a really good team. Plus im super thankful that they have new hours as well so they’re open till midnight and I can get my chocolate soft serve as a late treat. ::)) YALL rock!! Thank you for staying in our community!!

Missing 1 * only because why no ketchup? With higher than averag e prices for pretty much every menu item id expect just a bit better service as far as attention to detail. Burgers are always good. Twisters are tha bomb new creation: Reeces twister with banana. We come to this fosters often and they are so stingey with ketchup packets what gives?

If you're ever hot on a blazing summer day or hungry after work, they have one of the best burgers and sandwiches as well as ice cream!! The only flaw is waiting for the order a little, but other than that you got yourself a worthy wait for that order.

Deep fried burritos were crunchy and hit the spot. The Strawberry Dipped Twister was too sweet for our taste.

Parked right in front. Young lady who took my order was friendly and informative when I asked about ingredients. I ordered a cheeseburger meal, upgraded the fries to onion rings and the soda to an ice cream. The ice cream is great here!!! Food was fresh and fast. They were out of one of the mix-ins for my ice cream and gave me the choice to choose a different flavor or substitute that one ingredient, pie crust, for another ingredient. I substituted peanut butter and it was very good. So good infact, I might order it like that in the future! My meal was great and I was definitely not hungry when I left! I happened to be there when the nearby high school let out. There were more cars and pedestrians on the road then at other times. There were some students who came in and got something to go and a few groups of 2-4 students who came in and ate. It was not loud and these students were being respectful, some were talking and some had ear buds in. There is a bathroom inside and you have to ask an employee for a code to press to unlock the door.

Buildings a bit rough inside. It's changed a lot since I was a kid. No more outside walk up windows outside! We just got dipped cones for a bit of nostalgia, and man, they still got it. I got a medium thinking it would be small, and nope, that sucker was way bigger than I expected. My wife got a child's size and said it was perfect. Was dang good too!

The dessert is great! I am never disappointed with the Ice cream. The food such as the Chicken tenders are a little dry and so is the burger but besides that I love this place. There is a table where you can eat outside and it was a great way to experience the summer. (It’s a better choice at night time as it is very peaceful.

Service is never great. Both times I've visited recently, a food item was forgotten and there was no discount. Actually the weekly promo item was forgotten and they tried to charge me full price for it. Food is good but overpriced and considering the service, not worth it.

Mom loves the half n half twist cone, I don't think it's worth the almost $5. Especially when it's not loaded. You know what I mean. A clerk who can load the cone core, then loads it with a fat bottom, and then towers two more puffy blobs on top, into that spiral of soft serve twist of bliss. Some clerks can, and some clerks..? Awe well, lick away mom.

I like the food at Fosters Freeze but what I am not so happy about are the prices. Milkshakes are now over $10. Maybe I am just getting old but that prices are too high. Might just be California reality now.

Food was horrible, shakes were amazing. Cheese was like plastic!!! No flavor. Service was good and friendly. Not what I remember when I worked here in the 80's, those owners took pride in their food. I hope these owners will too! Quality over Quantity do a few things well and a lot more people with return as customers.

I only tried the smores blizzard, and the marshmellows tasted and felt old and stale, didn't make me want to come back to try more things.

They have tons of items to choose from. The shakes/ frosty were ok but lacked enough toppings. The drive thru is kinda janky to get to. I didn’t try their burgers. May or may not return. We were there at closing time and the cashier saw someone walking up to the door and blasted them with the overhead speaker “we’re closed. Drive thru open.”

The menu is pretty good. I gave it 3 stars because every time I leave the drive thru 1/2 my food is missing and I have to go back. Yes I should check and will from now on However the employees should be more careful.

Ordered a grilled cheese kids meal for my 2yr old son. Fries were great, grilled cheese was not. With the right cheese & bread this simple sandwich could've been awesome. Instead it was tasteless, no flavor & basically all bread, barely any cheese. No toy included & costs almost $6. Also ordered the new strawberry cheesecake parfait, thought it would be a lil larger but overall it tasted good & rated 8/10 in my opinion. That also cost almost $6, which brought our total to almost $13.

Not saying their food is bad, I just believe this place is pricey for what it is. I got a small Oreo Cheesecake Twister which cost around $11.30 which is a lot considering it's just a small ice cream with 2 toppings and made me regret purchasing. It was good but made it less enjoyable knowing the price. I believe they should rethink their prices, love this place but cannot afford. I also believe they should be more open about their pricing because on the menu it is listed for a small Oreo Cheesecake twister $8.99 cash, $9.30 card which is still a lot but it doesn't mention that when you order the Oreo Cheesecake the cheesecake is another $1, I thought it was going to be $9.30. The total price was not mentioned until at the window, I believe it should be said at the place you order. I was going to change my mind once the price was said but already saw the employee making my order and did not want to be that person. I would love to keep returning but the prices are not within my budget and I believe I am not the only one who is not able to afford that type of price. Please rethink the pricing on your items because for $11.30, theirs so many other things you can purchase that are more efficient.

There was one vehicle before us in the drive thru. We ordered rwo ice cream cones. We waited 20 minutes. Service was fine but wait was horrible. Never again!!!

Slow service! I understand if I had burgers, fries ordered. I only ordered 2 jr. ice cream cones. Took my money and then it took forever to get the cones. They were just gabbing. Hard to entertain 3 & 5 year olds in a drive thru. I told them my complaint, hopefully they will work on being more efficient. I like to support local businesses especially now. Upside, the kids liked their cones.

Service was ok, I guess. The food was good, but $$$. Better than chain fast food. I spent $23.73 on what was suppose to be a 6.99 original combo (rang up 7.49), bacon cheese fries about $6. Something?, A small twister $6 something. and a 3.5% additional charge for using my card. The prices charged were not the prices on the windows and menu. The food was good though.

I used to love this place. Sadly the workers lie almost every time I visit this place. I get it, a majority of the staff are teenagers, but if a person asks and is charged for an extra topping then please give it to them. There have been various times where I ask and am charged for something and I am not given it. I've sadly become one of those annoying customers that has to get out of their car (after going through the drive thru) and going inside to ask for said topping.

The food and icecream here is phenomenal, but the prices are crazy. Also, I got charged for something I didn't order, brought it up to the manager as the cashier requested, manager told me I'd be refunded. 9 days later still no refund. I called and they said I'd have to go back and be charged for the entire order again, then they'd input the refund again. BUT if I did that, I'd still be out the original refund because they would've charged me twice for the mistake and refunded it once. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AND REFUNDS.

Was craving a hamburger for awhile and had some time to spare.. My Hamburger was ok just a little greasy "fried". The place was clean and staff was cool . The thing that got me was One Hamburger and a drink was 16 bucks.. I know things are expensive right now But I probably could have gotten better somewhere else...

Ughhh. So min $5 charge for cards. /they forgot/ to charge me for upgrading my fries to zucchini sticks and then wanted to charge me the $1 but wouldn’t take my card. Like yo, that’s not my prob. Food was soooo basic. The “hamburger spread” was thinner than their toilet paper (full disclosure i didn’t use their restrooms so idk) like why be stingy w/ the only potential upside to your food?? The lettuce was in odd chunky squares. Bread was nice and fluffy tho and their Chicken strips were good. Only bbq and ranch for dipping sauce 👎🏼. Prices are a bit on the upside for what they serve. Soda fountain is behind them so refills are not accesible. So is the ketchup so boooo. Any thing they ask you if you’d like ”X” on your burger is extra. Go to Sonic instead.

Every time we go, the order takes hella long to be finished-there is always a problem with the order and it is over priced for the poor quality. Uncooked French fries, corn dogs with broken off sticks. Disappointing.

The Worst customer service ever, they over charged me and my wife for a burger and the owner was completely rude about it. I go to the Foster Freeze on pelandale in Modesto Ca. all the time I get the old fashion burger meal with cheese bacon and everything on it. I pay $5.80 (for a meal) I go to Ceres Foster Freeze On Whitemore to get a old fashion burger with cheese bacon and everything on it (just a Burger) $6.20 when I looked at the receipt there was charges for everything lettuce tomato onions etc.. I couldn't believe if upon asking the worker she said if you don't like it don't eat here? I could not believe it . I will not be eating here ever again!

They said they are a family franchise and had the right to refuse my groupon and were pretty rude about it. Fresno wouldn't accept it either and Modesto was closed down. I had to get a refund but Groupon said they would only do "Groupon Bucks." That is the second time in a row I have used Groupon where the merchant just decided they don't want to accept my coupon.

I waited in line for LITERALLY 30 minutes (I timed it) and had to drive away without my order! The first car in line never moved, didn't pull into a stall to wait, nothing! The big chains for big by thinking and preparing.

So expensive! Go across the street for better prices. Sides, like ketchup are extra and 3.5 fee for debit. One shake cost 9$ for a small.

After they messed up our order the last time we came by missing food and being charged for things we didn't order we decided to go again and give them a try. This time they messed up our burger order. I had placed the order. Asked after I seen the receipt was wrong to make sure it was fixed and still came out wrong. The manager Alyssa did not want to even know what was wrong. She walked away half way of explaining what happened. If you don't want to know don't even be a manager. Her coworker was getting me a refund for our $45 meal. As she was she said she could add what was missing in our burger...THE problem was not what they didn't add but what they did and not wanting to do their job after we checked twice. We tried to give them a second chance but no more! Don't waste you're time with bad customer service and people not wanting to do their job. There's no excuse when you continue to make sure your order is right in the first place.

Never eating here again!! The bottom bun on our burger was stale, the fries where hot, but stale. The only thing good was the root beer soda we ordered.

Guy who was working the windows acted like he was going to lick my ice cream. It looked like a reaction, and when I called the manager she told me he was trying to wipe it with napkins. Both my mother and I observed the whole interaction and there were no napkins around. Weak management defending untrained food service workers….this is the world we leave in… avoid at all cost!

Had the fish sandwich and wasn't offered any tartar, and when I ask for one packet of mustard, a whole handful was given to me. Had the cheeseburger, and definitely was not impressed with thatwasn't hot enough to melt my cheese, the bun was way more than the burger

Not all Fosters are the same. First, this is the most expensive FF I have ever visited. Second, the burger had no flavor, a chewy cheap bun, tiny bits of lettuce and 2 quarter sized slices of tomato! The fries were soggy. -and the children who work here? They could care less about the customers. They act like you are interrupting them. Wow! What a terrible experience. BTW, ate here Saturday around noon- it's a ghost town. I wonder why?

I came through the drive through and ordered a small strawberry sundae. It didn't have any syrup on it when I called the girl that said she was the manager told me that they don't come with syrup, only chunks of strawberries. I Have never heard of strawberry sundaes or any sundae not coming with syrup, from anywhere. You can tell the strawberries are the kind that restaurants use that come in a can, (as expected) and that they were sitting in syrup. I know that their other sundaes come with syrup because I've had them recently. So what I got was vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and mushy soggy strawberry chunks. This place is too expensive and food quality too poor( their burgers arent any good either) for me to spend my money here anymore. I wont be back. Too bad the owners dont take pride in their business.

Had a sign out, so I ordered it, waited in line got to the window and they told me that has been over for a week. Didn't even pull the sign inside. PIC told me she can't do anything about it rudely. Said they were to busy, really for a week to busy. Come on please do better

They be selling the frozen burritos from the store sometimes they do have the real foster freeze burritos but most of the time they dont they should at least be honest I can definitely tell the difference stop trying to be slick and at least fry them right aint tryna get sick it was cold in the middle

Was just at this location. Ordered 3 burgers with added bacon and onion rings. Another normal burger, plain hot dog and dipped cone. We were charged extra for the added bacon and onion rings. This place already expensive but we didn’t even receive the simple order correct. The cashier in the drive thru, Minerva, even confirmed the order with us and was still incorrect. Get home to eat the food and the order was wrong plus the food wasn’t even good quality. For the price they charge the minimum they should do is have the correct order made and good quality food!

Do you want to be rushed? Do you want to over pay for food service fried appetizers? Their display menus don't show combo prices, or the prices for various sizes, so you have to ask what everything costs, of course the older woman behind the counter with a thick accent is pushing you to order already, but how can you make an informed decision while being rushed? That's not really the issue at hand though, the real issue is that they didn't get our order right, and when I went to get it corrected they charged me the difference! Mind you, I don't care if what I ordered was more expensive and I need to pay for it, but that wasn't made clear to me while ordering, and the menu doesn't show the proper prices either! After they took back my Oreo twister to add cheesecake bites, they just tossed some on and put more on the side instead of blending it in. All in all, for two small fries, a small milk shake,a small blended ice cream dessert, and a 4 piece chicken tender, it was $26.47. Far too expensive for the quality of the food, and outrageous pricing considering the "customer service" I have received better meal service from a McDonald's self service kiosk. At least the kiosk thanked me for purchasing something to eat. I will update this post later on, but suffice to say, I will never return to this location, and I won't recommend it to any of my friends in fact I would warn them off, advise avoiding coming here and giving them business. Edit: as we were leaving the establishment they announced to me over the loud speaker "thank you for the review" this has gone from a 2 star review to a 1 star. It's a shame this place has been in business since 1946, and new owners or new management is going to run a local small business into the ground.
