Tiara and Kay were absolutely lovely. They were friendly and inviting. Customer service was stellar as they were able to give us a run down of the menu. Yes, my family and I were first timers. Lol but we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend others to try this Northlake location in Charlotte, NC.

Absolutely loved Dave’s Hot Chicken! The chicken is incredibly juicy and crispy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The spice level is on point, the sauces are amazing, and the portions are generous. Everything was served hot and fresh, and the staff was super friendly and helpful when choosing the heat level. Great vibe, fast service — definitely coming back again! 🔥🐔

It's finally open so I can really review the menu now! Not compared to accidently walking in during training oops! I had to go with the top loaded fries! I loved this place over in university but now it's in North lake I don't have to drive 30 minutes for big back activities. I love the way they flavor the chicken here hands down. I'm white as can be so I get the medium and it's a good blend of kick and savory. Even over fries is gives great taste! I can't wait to see what becomes of this location down the line!

Absolutely incredible chicken! Dave’s Hot Chicken nails it every time with perfectly seasoned, savory chicken that’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can really taste the difference because everything is cooked to order — it’s fresh, hot, and full of flavor in a way that sets it apart from the competition. The service here is just as impressive — friendly, fast, and genuinely hospitable. You can tell they care about their customers. And if you like heat, be warned — their “hot” isn’t playing around! It’s bold, flavorful, and packs the perfect punch. Easily one of the best chicken spots around. It was so good, I got some to go for a friend. Make sure to try with honey. It goes perfect with the dry rub.

I always order for Online Pick up here and the food is always ready on time & fresh. The workers are friendly and always tend to the pick up window as soon as you walk up. The dave’s bites are soo good 🫶🏼

Came by this location in Northlake on their first day open. It wasn’t too busy so i got my food pretty quick (5-10 mins). The staff was really nice and welcoming, and the place looked super clean. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and had the perfect spicyness. Fries and sauce were on point too. And i didn’t know that they’re 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱! 🤩 I just think they should start putting the popping boba on the bottom instead of the top, it would make it a lot easier to drink. Also, the straw they have is too small for the boba, so a bigger size would help. The restroom was clean, and it’s a single restrooom, so if it’s locked there’s probably someone inside. Really good first impression overall, i’ll definitely be back!

Food was great, as always.. The service was bomb! Absolutely loved it! And our cashier Shae was amazing & full of excitement & energy.

The website was down when I tried to order lunch for an office meeting. The app didnt work either. Otherwise, I was really impressed! The staff was super friendly and helpful. I ordered 5 #2 meals at lunch time and they were ready in about 10 minutes I think. The food was delicious, and the portions are large. Only 2 of my coworkers could finish all of it. 👍🏼

Fantastic flavor on the chicken and the Dave's sauce is a perfect pair! Only complaint is that they served my meal with toasted slices of bread instead of buns like in the pictures. The meal was overall really good!

The chicken is fine but it lives in a flavorless desert, desperately begging for seasoning. The heat shows up (eventually) but heat without flavor is just punishment, not pleasure. By contrast, PoppyCox serves up three of the most beautifully fried, juicy Nashville hot tenders you can get in the QC. Medium heat there is a full-on flavor and spice oasis with crispy crust, real seasoning, and chicken that actually tastes like something. That comparison made Dave’s shortcomings impossible to ignore. Then there are the sides... Dave’s doesn’t have ranch, which honestly should be illegal in the South. The fries are trash, and the so-called “secret sauce” is a waste of a condiment cup that never had a chance to save the plate anyway. If you’re craving Nashville hot chicken in Charlotte, skip Dave’s. Go to PoppyCox, support a local brand, and enjoy chicken that’s actually seasoned, properly fried, and absolutely drowning in ranch (the way it’s supposed to be). Afterwards we can hit up an open house nearby :)
