I had the pleasure of attending a ticketed holiday wine tasting event at the bar. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the tasting came with a made to order Philly cheesesteak. Only down side abt the location is the parking lot is small and can certainly be a challenge depending on the time of day. The bar does do weekly specials like half off wine glasses etc, great place to go and relax after work or on a wkend. Perfect for girls night, date or solo outing.
Great burger, they ground up steaks for this burger, and it's almost half off on Tuesdays. At lunch it comes in a box, at dinner you get table service. It's an upscale grocery store and offers tailor made sandwiches, salads at lunch. Several locations to choose from. Can be pricey.
Mark, the bar manager, is so personable! We had after dinner drinks and split a dessert, we love Reid’s key lime cheesecake.
My husband, Matthew and I actually do not miss a day coming to Reid's Fine Foods! One will always find an inviting atmosphere with a friendly and professional team. We order breakfast or lunch daily and we love Martha and Jorge. We too, are blessed to have incredible Leyla and Morgan in the wine boutique. Of course, I have to mention the genuine care and smile of Harrison as he rings up our daily purchases. Being a business owner of a boutique real estate firm, I understand first hand that your team makes up for a successful venture. May 2023 hold many blessings for the entire team at Reid's Fine Foods!
Go here pretty often but tonight I was recommended fillet skewers they were less than $15 each and this is amazing!!!!! Some of the best steak I’ve had
Been going here for years now. Work next door at sherwin williams so I’ve tried all their sandwiches, wraps, and burgers. They are all great! Jose is a great manager and super friendly. Love the staff, Marta is a super kind and friendly as well. I will continue going and totally worth the price.
There is a lot of ready-made food.
Good stuff! Bruschetta appetizer and then a flank steak burrito with breakfast potatoes. Very good! Cute little lowkey spot! Great for a bite to eat after long hours of shopping!
I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. I just went into the Southpark Reids Fine Foods and ate dinner. Little did I know was Wednesday was half priced wine - awesome. The meal and service were outstanding. I was also blown away with the meat and wine selection. I think I am moving in!!
Had a great dinner experience with my wife and friends last Saturday. Joe does a great job on the grill and the wait staff has always been top notch. Will be back soon!
I recently went to Reid’s Fine Food and all the food looked so good! I ended up talking to a very kind manager named Harrison who made me a sandwich and suggested certain options after telling him my preferences. I am now a regular customer and go there weekly.
I worked with Cassie Frye to order catering for a "Life Celebration." Cassie was informative, new her products, and made very helpful recommendations. She arrived exactly as scheduled, set up beautifully displayed food platters, which were very tasty, and was off in a flash. Cassie also responded to every text and email quickly and efficiently. She made a stressful time less stressful. I would definitely recommend Cassie's help when ordering from Reid's Fine Foods.
I really like the store. I love to shop here for unique items or when I need to find a great wine and freshest food for entertaining. They can even cater the event if you need them to. They offer a lot of things you can find at other specialty food store. My friends and I like stopping by for lunch when we are in the neighborhood. Great place, friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable employees.
Just wanted to give a big shout-out to Page in Gift Baskets for the great service I experienced today. I was calling from out of town for a gift basket and she not only helped me select one, but personally delivered it this afternoon! Could not ask for better service and my daughter loved the basket!!! Merry Christmas!
After having a HORRIBLE experience with the Day time manager at “The Jimmy” next store I came to this beautiful establishment!! The amazing and wonderful STACiA made me a delicious Berry Salad! Thank you so much Stacia for making my day better!!! ❤️-Morgan
I love Reid's! A neighborhood staple. We come here all the time for sandwiches and salads and the food and service never disappoints.
They say fine foods in their title and by George they are right! From the killer wraps to the craft beer selection you won't be disappointed walking in their doors. Can't wait to try all their prepared foods, they all look so delicious.
The atmosphere of Reid's is awesome! The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I feel comfortable bringing my clammily here to shop and dine. We recently had a party catered for an end of the summer bash. Everything was EXCELLENT; the food, chef, hospitality, and service were above and beyond. I love how Reid's optimizes local produce and products in their catering and sales floor. We will be coming back for many years to come!
Mark, Sam, Lisa and team are always there for us at Reid’s on selwyn. Highly recommend wine selection and the fresh menu selections.
My wife and I visit Reid’s Fine Foods almost daily. The entire team is hard working and very professional. It is sort of like a “Cheers” type specialty grocery store where everyone knows your name! Of course, we know everyone by name and appreciate them so much. Where would Reid’s be without Jorge and Martha in the deli area! Martha always greets us by name with her beautiful smile and Jorge always calls out to us with a big “hello” and another smile. When we are shopping for that special bottle of wine, Leyla is quick to offer her expert advice! She is a ROCK Star! One day I was in and could not find the right heirloom tomato and Harrison went in the back to get more! That is service! Reid’s is so very blessed to have such an incredible team! Even with great products is takes team work and the culture shows! Make sure you stop in if you have not already discovered this neighborhood treasure. Carpe Diem! Matthew Paul Brown
I love to go to Reid's! The meat department is incredible due to Bucky! He is always smiling and is ready to help you with your order. It's great to go in to any store and find people happy to see you. I have never eaten anything that wasn't EXCELLENT! Kudos to Bucky. (Happy Birthday today.) Have a great day!
I live in Shelby and truly value a great butcher shop so when I happened upon Reid’s while measuring a job nearby, I called in and ordered 2- 4lb beef tenderloins. The butcher knew exactly what I wanted, even offered to tie them up for me and said he’d have them waiting. I wish I could post a picture on here of how they turned out. I cooked them in our Wolf Steam Oven and they were so good. I’ll be back at Reid’s.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If I could give them ten stars I would! The staff is wonderful and made the whole experience outstanding. The shopping experience and dining experience were superb. I will be coming back and using Reid's company for many years to come not only for the fact that it was such a wonderful experience but also because they use local produce and products. And using locally is something I can get behind. This company is excellent!
My friend and I come here every Wednesday and it is one of our favorite places. The service is always wonderful. Melina and Gray have always gone out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. This place lives up to all expectations and more.
I visited Reid's for lunch recently...the Salmon BLT was fantastic! I've been back with my girlfriends for a wine dinner, again wonderful. Their great atmosphere and service along with the extensive food and wine selection makes this a foodies dream! Oh, I can't forget the great butcher shop... it has it all!
Always love visiting Tommy, Spence and Ryan to select the best cuts of beef. If you catch it right their bread is sold hot!! Great for salads and deli sides. Great sweet and unsweetened tea with the good crushed ice.
Nice old deli feel. Good gourmet selection of pickled items.Love the chicken salad
Be prepared for a food coma if you come for brunch! We arrived at 11am, and they were a bit behind seating patrons. We had a reservation for 11 but due to the staff being overwhelmed, we had to do a couple loops through the grocery to kill time before they were ready for us(a bit annoying, but it's a somewhat interesting place). After killing about 10 min, we were finally seated, and from that point on had great, friendly service! I ordered the Biscuit Bomb, and my wife had the Chicken n Waffles. The biscuit bomb might be one of my favorite concepts for a Brunch Biscuit ever. A gargantuan biscuit, covered in gravy, stuffed with spinach, eggs, bacon and tomato, and then covered with a massive slice of cheddar cheese. It's about as heavy a meal as you can find, and was quite tasty, although there was an overpowering rosemary flavor in the gravy which I had to scrape away to really enjoy everything else. The chicken and waffles were also taste bud tantalizing, especially when dabbing a lil syrup. The chicken was juicy, with just the right amount of spiced breading, and the waffles were crisp and airy, without being too bland. All in all a rib sticking solid brunch for a reasonable price. Don't come here of you don't want to go home and nap afterwards 😁
Reid's is great however it is always so hard to maneuver through the store. One employee or manager nearly ran into my stroller. The young woman who works in the wine section is amazing and so is Regina in cold cuts. Regina helped me compile a lovely and delicious charcuterie and spent about 15 min or more doing so. I'll be back to see Regina and the woman in wine again.
Nice market for some specialty foods and ingredients. You can find some really cool stuff, especially if you're not looking for anything in particular. The staff is really friendly, you can get sandwiches made to order in the deli, or grab-and-go from the cooler. Nice wine shop, too. They pack a lot in a small space. Watch out for those prices, though. They aren't usually readily displayed, and I've been surprised at the register more than once.
Reid's Fine Foods is a convenient local spot we often visit to pick up marinated meats for quick grilling. Their lemon garlic and Honey Dijon chicken are flavorful and always turn out great. They also offer some nice steak cuts, and the market section has a solid collection of sauces, snacks, and gourmet pantry items. They have a small in-house restaurant and a wine bar, which makes it easy to grab a sandwich or enjoy a drink on the spot. The wine cellar is well-stocked, though unfortunately, the wine tasting area was closed both times I visited. That said, the overall vibe doesn’t quite live up to the pricing. For what they charge, you’d expect a more polished or premium experience—but it feels a bit ordinary once you’re inside. A little more attention to atmosphere and service could go a long way in making the place feel as elevated as its prices suggest. The lack of price tags on products was an absolute scare, when you bill you will shocked. Still, it’s a good local option if you're looking for convenience and decent variety without expecting a full upscale experience. And if you are budget/ value conscious I won't recommend.
New to the area, looking for top notch meat and fish sources. We came to Reids, as one obvious one to try. To be honest, the service was mediocre, and the meat has okay. I guess we will keep looking, hoping there are some excellent sources of meat for home barbecue.
This is a gem of an upscale grocery with an impressive selection of high-quality products. The shelves are well-stocked, and the range of unique and thoughtfully curated brands sets it apart from the usual grocery store. The prepared foods are delicious, and the produce is consistently fresh. That said, I hope the store can take a closer look at its packaging choices. There’s a noticeable overuse of plastic - from individually packaged vegetables to an overwhelming number of plastic deli containers. For a place that clearly values quality and care, I’d love to see a stronger commitment to sustainability. Even small changes, like offering more compostable containers or reducing unnecessary packaging, would go a long way.
Just left Reid’s. Great service from Stephen. Cheese board was great. Nice variety. Calamari great. Very nice wines. We got there at 3:45 they opened at 4:00 so curious if they might have prepared the space better. Table we wanted to sit at was messy and major crumbs Under corner booth.
Personally, I like Reid's. Plenty of great selections, unique items and good food in general across all locations. This location specifically however, missed the mark on Wednesday night. My friend and I had just enjoyed a great meal across the street and found ourselves wanting to grab a quick dessert and glass of wine for half priced wine night. After selecting a slice of creme brulee cheesecake which I highly recommend, we took a seat at the bar to enjoy with some red. I can't tell you why, but from the moment we sat down we were outright ignored by the bar staff. Even asking for a bar menu and getting no follow up once provided. It seemed from our viewpoint that while business was steady it wasn't slammed, and that the staff might be more concerned with what they perceived as higher value clients with deeper pockets. I'm all for giving your regulars attention but it took concerted effort to avoid all eye contact or interaction with us. I would like to say this wasn't across the board and give a nod to Olivia who was running the seated tables and busting her rump, but still took the time to take care of us after an extensive wait and blatant disregard from "M" the bar manager. The wine ambience and dessert were all great as expected, but the service that evening left a lot to be desired. I'll continue to be a Reid's customer but had to take the time to provide this feedback, if for no other reason than to remind some that appearances aren't everything, and you don't know who's going to give you a good tip if you outright ignore them.
Warning! if ordering Xmas or holiday catering items be prepared. Just picked up my Thanksgiving items. Portion description says it supposed to “feed 4-6 people”…this would MAYBE feed 4 if everyone took 1 scoop. Just take what they say in description and cut it in half. :(
Tonight I ordered a berry salad and selected the protein to be chicken and had it delivered. When I received it, it had no chicken. I deserve a refund and hopefully management will respond.
Deli staff has really gone downhill. They have hired rude young people who honestly cannot understand per unit pricing and simple arithmetic. Value proposition is also no longer appealing. Pricing is well above inflation for the quality and quantity of items.
I was so frustrated to walk in today and find that they have gone up on their prices for the grab and go salads. It went from 10.99 to 13.99. That might not make any difference to the majority of their clientele, but for someone like myself who has not had a raise in over 5 years and has to live on a budget, it means I have to think twice about where I spend my money. With as much profit as this place makes, it saddens me that they charge as much as they do. Very frustrating that you have to pay so much money for clean, quality food.
nice employees, but there are no price tags on anything! it drives you crazy! found out at checkout that a small bag of flour was over TWENTY DOLLARS. kind of ridiculous.
Our dining experience at Reid's was so disappointing...tiny menu and everything we tried was too Expensive for the ridiculously small portion sizes served. the lobster mac and cheese and shrimp and grits were horribly salty...beet salad was ridiculously tiny not even an appetizer size and good but nothing to write home about.. My glass of Wine, my husbands beer, our waiter and the other dining/ bar staff were the highlights of our experience, but we sadly won't ever return and we can't recommend it to others. Our bill was over 80 including the tip - way too much to leave hungry and not enjoy the food... we felt sick when we left but not because we were full....
Food was great. Staff and service on the other hand was far from exceptional. Beware: this is not a kid friendly restaurant (if you even classify it as that). I brought my daughter with me and I could tell from the start she was not welcomed. The female employee at the hostess stand gave me a unfriendly attitude when I walked up and asked for a high chair.. come to find out, this was actually one the managers. This should have been my first clue. It was LUNCH TIME for goodness sake. My daughter literally said three words while we were dining. The service was extremely slow and the wait time for our food was ridiculous to be honest. It was not busy at this time. We found ourselves asking each other several times where our waitress was. Overall, it was a really bad experience and I unfortunately will not be back.
* this review is for the restaurant only * After a lot of hype and sponsored ads online, I was pretty excited to try the burger here. I didn’t even know until I got there that it was half priced, which was cool. Though considering it was $11, I can’t imagine paying $20 for what I had. Everything was fresh, I could tell that much. But the burger itself had zero flavor. The truffle fries were OK, they were shoestring fries with parmesan cheese, which were basically just McDonald’s fries with a little pizzazz. Lots of drink options for a 20 ounce bottle or can. Fountain drinks were tea (sweet/unsweet) and lemonade. This isn’t really a restaurant issue, but I was disappointed that I couldn’t pour water for myself, I had to buy a bottle, because it ended up only lasting me halfway through my meal. On the plus side, service was great. The layout of the store was confusing for me, I didn’t know where to order and pay, but that was made pretty clear after asking the staff. I wouldn’t eat here again, but it might be a cool place to try some wine half priced on Wednesdays.
Overpriced for nothing. The most basic and lazy Buffalo chicken wrap I’ve had in a long time. No side or drink included. Gets by solely because of how long it’s been there (who knows how) and that the tourists have it on their list. Disappointing and forgettable. Save your money and go elsewhere.
I paid $17 for a burger meal and had to wait to get my food and drive all the way home and they didn’t give me my sides. My burger didn’t have anything on it either. So I had to come all the way back to the store and whoever was behind the counter just tossed me my side and laughed it off. Wasted my time and now the food I got is definitely cold. Go to the other location if you choose to eat here.
Almost every time I go into either of the Reid’s locations I either accidentally buy or make it to the counter and then have to turn around with an expired product. The place is way too overpriced and the food is bland. The check-out staff is sometimes aloof or rude. Not worth the trip.
I was super nice to the young two kids working the deli. I tipped 10 percent. They messed up my wife's chicken salad sandwich by leaving off the chicken salad lol. No biggie, I ask them politely to just slap some chicken salad on if they don't mind. They look at me dumbfounded, whisper to each other then the young kid in the apron snatches the sandwhich, doesn't reply to me when I say thank you. Comes back, I thank him again and he turns away. I mean I didn't get a single word or smile, nor less a very owed apology. The guy at the bar almost walked into me and didn't say anything. Just all around horrible vibe from these employees.
The most outrageously ridiculously priced place in all of Charlotte. Just because they are located in a rich area they think they can charge $9 for a small bottle of Heinz ketchup and $10 for chicken broth. They say it’s “because of the convenience” even though you can go across the street to the circle k and get those exact things for under $5 total. Anyone who shops here is a fool.
We ordered several items the chocolate Cake was $70 for a whole cake it was terrible. Very dry the icing was way too sweet. We had 7 people try it everyone had one two bites. For the price point extremely disappointing. Never again. Using cheap products. The charcuterie board also very expensive totally disappointed you can get at any grocery store at the third of the price better cheese board. The quality for the price point on these items was not with it at all. Don’t do it…. I recently had dinner and it was excellent however the take out on the cake and charcuterie board at $160.00 and a few other items was beyond disappointment.
Ordered online and 2 minutes before I arrived I got a message that the order had been voided. When I walked inside, they said I ordered off the menu from a discount that did not apply so they voided the order. When I told them I didn’t care about the discount and that I still needed the meal, they said the kitchen was too backed up..
