While I initially had mixed feelings, this place completely won me over! The margaritas are absolutely fantastic—some of the best I've ever had. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff made the visit enjoyable, and I appreciate their commitment to quality drinks. Though the food wasn’t my favorite this time, I’ve heard they’re revamping their menu with fresh, exciting options. I’m definitely coming back to give it another try—especially for those incredible margs! Five stars for the drinks and stellar service!

A group of us decided to meet here to catch up. The food wasn't great but it was good! And the atmosphere was great! A little loud sometimes and made conversations hard. But the dance music and open space made for some very entertaining dancing. And the staff were very nice

Excellent experience at Los Toros. The ambiance is terrific. It feels as though you are eating in an old village square or courtyard. The food was alright; however, my mom ordered a chili rellenos, which was not quite cooked long enough. We did appreciate the attentiveness of the server and staff. Easy accessibility for parking and handicap entrance. We would come back.

Me and my partner have decided that, after having passed by this restaurant several times, that we'd finally check it out. The staff were super friendly, the restaurant itself looked very nice, clean and authentic. Ordered the Large Los Toros Sampler, which consists of quesadillas, taquitos, nachos, flautas, and carnitas, served with sour cream, guacamole, and the restaurant's special sauce. Good stuff.... But yeah, order this if you want something shareable between you and someone else because the "large" sampler definitely lives up to its name. From the service, to the atmosphere, and finally the food itself, you are in for absolutely amazing time if you're in the mood for Mexican food and want to give this restaurant a visit.

Always a warm and inviting place for lunch or dinner. The staff here are amazing. The food is delicious, however, it can be inconsistent at times. I only know this because I eat here at least once a week. It is a tough business. I keep going back to support the people since 1981. The bean dip is out of this world. You too will be hooked and see yourself coming back at least once a week.

This place is great!! Show up hungry, the portions here are big. The chips come with salsa and bean dip. The bean dip is excellent. I typtally get their hard shell chicken tacos which are always really good. The wait staff is always friends, the service is always good. I've been coming here for years and will continue to come here in the years ahead.

Mr. Nick Toros the owner is always there with his beautiful daughter making sure everyone is happy and the food is great. This place is like dinning at your grandmas house, wonderful atmosphere, great service and very delicious grandma style food!!! Mr. Tori’s is also involved in all the community events, giving back to the community and helping in any shape and form. Great local family-owned restaurant. Loved the tiling and stained glass decor, all very quaint and adorable. Felt very home-y. Service was prompt, consistent, and very polite. Servers were very kind. Food was yummy and comforting, classic independent sit-down Mexican fare. I had the carne asada plate which came with rice, beans, a little guacamole, tortillas, and a whole chile relleno. Really quite tasty, meat came out tender. Boyfriend ordered chile colorado which was really nice as well. BF's dad ordered the Tex-Mex plate which he seemed to enjoy quite a lot. I don't drink alcohol but was informed by BF & his dad that the margaritas were strong & delicious. Wish I could have taken a stack of the flour tortillas home, they were awesome.

Los Toros has been a neighborhood favorite for years, and it was great to come back after some time away. The new outdoor space is a huge upgrade spacious, comfortable, and really fun to hang out in. Drinks were excellent, and the servers were attentive and super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of spot that works perfectly for casual drinks, catching up with friends, or just enjoying the lively vibe. Definitely glad this place is still going strong!

Love this place! It's a true gem in the Chatsworth restaurant scene. Papa Nick's Margarita 🍸🍸 is a must. So flavorful and they don't skimp on the salt rim. Tableside/Live Guacamole 🥑never disappoints. Aaron's Burrito, Huevos Rancheros🥚, Fajitas, Machaca con Huevos, Pozole and Menudo, combos, specials have all been delicious. Never had a bad meal here. Patio has been completely renovated (with plenty heat lamps). Staff super nice and seems to remember the regulars. Well worth the extra couple miles to dine here.

It was like returning home to an old friend! Me and my family have been going here for years and particularly like the dim booths but the new interior that the front was very refreshing as well. The chips and bean dip were excellent as always. My aunt and I were able to try the new grilled swordfish featured in Gordon Ramsay's 24 hours to h*** and back edition of this restaurant! It was very delicious and very reasonably priced! I only wish that they could have promoted this menu more it was only displayed on thin pieces of paper with no reference from the staff unless asked about. Gordon Ramsay really deserves more credit!

The food was pretty good. Traditional Mexican fare. They are best known for their bean dip served with the chips and salsa. Chips, salsa and a pitcher of margaritas, what else could you ask for?!

Strong drinks Tacos are just okay, chicken was a little dry. Valet parking is a plus.

We started off with a pitcher of Margaritas - that didn't last long. The tortilla chips with warm bean dip and salsa were a nice snack while we checked out the menu. I had the Mar y Tierra, it was excellent but could have been even better if the server had bothered to ask me how I wanted the steak cooked. The shrimp is wonderful but you have to like garlic and cheese. To finish it of the plate also included a tasty rice dish and salad.

I’ve been here for lunch several times. The staff is always helpful and attentive, the food is pretty good (not the best), and seating is spacious with indoor/outdoor options. Great atmosphere, so I can’t really knock this place other than to say there are a LOT of great authentic Mexican food places in L.A. so the bar is set pretty high.

Pros -Beautiful place inside. Much nicer than it seems from the outside. Love the sunlight coming in from the roof. Plenty of seating inside and outside -Friendly staff -Has a nice and clean restroom Cons -Food is alright. Got a cheese enchilada side and it only contained cheese inside and on top. A little heavy on the cheese without any other content. Overall, would not go again solely for the food -Took a while for food to be served even though it was not busy and early around brunch time -Was a little hard to get staff attention

The food here is decent and they give you pretty large servings. The service was really good, and as soon as you sit down, they bring chips with salsa and bean dip. We ordered the meal for 3 people, which comes with 3 Tacos, 2 Tamales, 2 Enchiladas, and 2 Chile Rellano. The tacos all come with a side of beans and rice, so there is definitely enough food for 3 people here, and leftovers for 2. I prefer their shredded chicken in the Tacos, and in the Enchilads, I really liked the carnitas over the cubed chicken. The Enchilads, by the way, were pretty large and very delicious--they were the perfect mix of soft and crunchy, and so were the Tacos. The Tamales were decent, but the Chile Rellano was fantastic! My friend really liked the margarita that our server suggested! The ambiance here is pretty nice, and there are three different seating areas--one outside, one indoor, and they also have an indoor bar area with tv's and it gets pretty loud in there. I might come back here, but next time I think we'll share the 2 person meal :)

I think this place used to be better. I had tacos on this visit. The tortillas were awful. Store bought cheapo tortillas. The staff isn’t very friendly and the drinks are really expensive. I really enjoyed how the restaurant is setup and decorated. The staff was very friendly and professional but came short on the food. The tostada salad was not what I expected and honestly El Pollo Loco's are way better. Hope improvement is in the works for the tostada salad.

My fiancé and I are new to the valley. We wanted good Mexican food, and ended up deciding on Los Toros. Here's the deal, the food was great! However, the drink prices were misleading because of no price on the drink menu. When I have to pay seventeen dollars for a skinny margarita, ( yes I work out :-D ) which consist of tequila, agave, and citrus juice, I was shocked. $17 is more than the combo plate, which is YUGE! Maybe I should have asked the price of the skinny margaritas, but I was truly thinking $12 max. Three skinny margaritas more than doubled the food bill. Why no transparency?

Little disappointed. Got a “Supreme Quesadilla” which wasn’t exactly supreme as you could see by the picture. Almost $12 for a quesadilla you think it would be filled with more. The rest of the food was fine…it’s usually good but this time totally disappointed. Update: It was nice to get a response…thank you. I will be back to try again.

I ordered the chilaquiles and was very disappointed. I ordered the red ones because the waitress said those were spicier ones. Im pretty sure the sauce they used was just the complimentary salsa they give you with chips which was pretty disappointing. On the bright side, the complimentary bean dip was really good!

I made reservations here for a group of 14 and asked in advance to be on the patio and asked to make sure they could accommodate us or we could have gone somewhere else. The lady on the phone said it would not be a problem. Come the day of the dinner, we were seated inside and not on the patio. The food is just okay in my opinion. The margarita I will say was delicious. They have many flavors and I went with the raspberry. The prices are fair. Small parking lot which tends to fill up fast, but there is street parking close by.

I’m sad to say this places prices are a little steep for the amount of food served. Also the addition of charging for the bean dip and chips for additional servings even if you’ve ordered food is a little much in my opinion seeing it’s been free for so long and to charge so much money if you don’t order an entree is too much as well. All and all it seems they are really pushing up the costs in general. I got a Colorado burrito and it wasn’t very big. The food taste good and the atmosphere is nice. The service could be a little better as well. I think they can get back to where they were but they have to adjust a bit or possibly lose customers that they’ve had for decades.

Restaurant was half full on a Saturday evening and not as packed with patrons as we remembered it. From the start staff interaction was limited (their choice).. When we arrived, we let the host know we have a reservation for 4. The host immediately went to seat us without ever asking the name on our reservation, or letting us know our other half of the party had already arrived and was seated. Both halves of the party would have been at separate tables without being aware. We had to remind staff to bring us chips and salsa. Food was ok and arrived quickly after ordering, but carnitas were very, very dry. Chili colorado was decent. Overall, a disappointment compared to what we fondly remembered from past visits.

This was second time was invited to Restaurant by family to celebrate a birthday. party of 4 Arrive at 630pm. waited 10 minutes for table in cantania(outside area). Sat at table waited 20 minutes for someone to bring Chip,Beans, salsa. Then 10 minutes for our drinks(non- Alcoholic) Ask for more chips and stuff. another 10 minutes. Took our order at this time. food arrived within 10-15 minutes. Oh, never saw waiter for refills on drinks or again chips. If your okay with horrible service (twice) Then this place will please you. There are other great Mexican food close by just Google. Ps. Again my experience twice here. I eat out almost every day.

This place is huge with lots of room for large parties. We were a large group so we did not expect the food to come out quickly, which is fine. The main issue that I had was that our drinks barely had alcohol in them...and the food was ok, but not good enough to come back a third time. Our server was "there" to take the order.

We had an absolutely wonderful time celebrating our sons birthday here. The banquet room was colorful and decorated well for the occasion. Staff served us very well and the food was wonderful. We were charged a $200 room fee that we were never told about on the phone. Please verify with staff about this charge. Other than the room fee, we were very happy with our experience.

Haven’t been here in years and sadly won’t be going back. The albondigas soup tasted stale, there was one meatball and it was cut into 4 pieces & tasteless and had an overwhelming clove taste. The hot salsa was extremely hot and my husband loves and can tolerate heat-but not this. We ordered the appetizer asada tacos and they were stone cold and also tasteless. How can you have beef that’s tasteless? Very sad because I know this is a happening place….or maybe it use to be. Oh and it’s really cold (55 degree cold and rainy day) so we had to eat with our coats on. We were two couples and they wouldn’t split the bill. Once the food came out, nobody came by to see how we were doing and if eveverything was ok-(it wasn’t busy.) The food is sitting in bellies like a gut bomb. We are not normally complainers but I honestly can’t find anything good about this visit.

The service is usually good but The margaritas and food have really gone downhill. I can’t even believe how terrible the margaritas were last night. We had to send two of them back because they didn’t even taste like a margarita, and there was a pinkish hue to them (they were poured from a picture of a premade mixture). After we sent them back, they brought two new ones that were the usual color of margaritas, yellowish. Those were better, probably because the bartender made them fresh. Such a shame because it’s such a great spot and we used to go there all the time. Hopefully, the owners/managers start making some improvements to the quality of the food and drinks. a lot of people have been complaining about the quality of the food and drinks lately.

Been going there for years. Food quality and service has declined in the past decade but it remained passable. But I've cut it off my list of go-to restaurants after I learned that it was recently closed down by health inspectors for about 10 days because of a major vermin infestation. Totally unacceptable. They've been in business for nearly 50 years. You would assume that by now they knew how to keep a restaurant's kitchen clean. So you can only figure that they just didn't care about the health and safety of its customers. Adios, Los Toros.

After our last visit many years ago because the food was horrible, we decided to give it another try. The host put us in a dark room right next to the kitchen. We had to use our phones to read the menus. The male server was rude, and the drinks took forever. The food was decent, but not once did anyone come and check on us. No refills on the drinks until we were basically done with the meal. We asked for water which was never brought. I wanted a knife because I'm not in the habit of picking up my food with my fingers, but was never given the chance to request one. I'm a former server, and unfortunately it makes me very aware of bad service, and it was really bad. It will be a very long time, if ever, before I will return to your establishment.

I'm writing to express my disappointment with my recent visit to Los Toros Mexican Restaurant. Our party of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids was automatically charged a 20% gratuity, which I found to be excessive and not reflective of the service we received. While the server was friendly, the service was not exceptional, and I felt that the automatic gratuity was unfair. To make matters worse, the prices at Los Toros were extremely high;about 30 dlrs per dish, and the portions were surprisingly small. We ordered 6 dishes, thinking we would have leftovers, but ended up leaving hungry. The quality of the food was good, but not outstanding, and the prices did not match the value we received, it was around 9:34 pm and servers were kind of rushing our family out by trying to pick up the plates, we found this inpolite, since we were having a family reunion, and there was food still on the plates. On top of a obove said, kids are not treated as kids should be treated, they don't offer high chairs, or manus for them, or probably not taking your kids. I would suggest that Los Toros reconsider their automatic gratuity policy and work on portion sizes and pricing to better reflect the value customers receive. Until then, I would think twice about recommending this restaurant to others. UPDATE. I was able to talk to the manager and he promised to return the gratuity to my card, however around $40 dlrs cash were already left on the table the same night, I hope the restaurant reconsiders their policy about adding the gratuity automatically to the check

I ordered a chicken tortilla soup to go and they did not add a spoon so I can eat my food at work . I called back and they gave me a lame excuse that the health department said we have to ask. It's a soup!! Why do I have to ask. No wonder they have a 4.2. Que paso amigos lol

This place was just shut down for vermin. Infestation, gross, not the first time hell's kitchen gave them hell a few years back yuck. So disappointed gross negligence on Nick's part. This is the only Mexican restaurant in Chatsworth. And they can't pull it together. Are you kidding me?

I’ve definitely been to better Mexican restaurants than this place. Their food was not it! I ordered a chicken burrito that came with beans & rice. Everything was over salted & did not taste good at all. I even tried a frozen margarita (charge more if you want it on the rocks). It tasted like they just blended ice with margarita mix, no alcohol.🤦🏽‍♀️ I’d rather eat from a taco stand than ever go here again.

Most disgusting food I have ever had & staff is completely rude. I was there last week on a Thursday night. Food was gross, I order a shrimp cocktail it had maybe 5 rubbery pieces of shrimp & my husband hand shrimp tacos also disgusting and margaritas even worse water downed. I don’t understand how this place is even in business

food was awful. beef flauta had bad taste. chicken taquito had an awful after taste. didn't even finish the food. asked to take it to go out of emberasment on been asked why. we didn't finish our food. margarita is made with the cheap hornitos tequila. go to another place if u must.

Service was horrible, my sister and i didnt get asked if we wanted a refill not once, when my son was asking the waitress for more chips and bean dip she just looked at him and kept walking. They had a heater right above where my son was sitting and asked if it could be turned off since my son was burning up and she completely ignored us. Food was horrible, carne asada was tasteless. And yes this was last night. Party of 8.

Sorry everyone. Los Toros is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the valley. Unfortunately, they've been closed down for the last week because of rat infestation. This is NOT the first time...Maybe they'll clean up better this time. Ponerse en movimiento!! Get moving and save your father's legacy!!

This food was absolutely disgusting! The server was non-chalant and gave her boyfriend at the bar more attention than us. manager did not care at all and I basically paid for alpo enchiladas and tacos. My taco was soggy and my enchiladas was very dry. I consider myself a black Amigo so I love tacos and tequila but this place right here was beyond pitiful! Overpriced and terrible quality food and customer service. I ask for manager he wouldn’t come out, after the third time he came out sipping a soda looking extremely high or drunk with that lil ponytail and said the food was nasty cause it sat. When I’m reality the server never came back to make sure everything was good. He didn’t care was extremely rude and even pose for another picture that I did not take. Spend your money somewhere else, but it’s Tara blvd should have not expected anything better smh. My sister tried to eat her food because she was hungry.

Waited 45 minutes to order food. Everyone’s food was terrible. Extremely salty. Carne Asada was awful. My shell was barely cooked. The restaurant, which used to be packed on a Saturday night, was nearly empty.

Customer service was good! Food was so disappointing. It all seemed like frozen food and not well done. Seems like the investment is at the bar and they should just close the restaurant side. This use to be one of the best restaurants in the valley and now I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I did not have the best experience here. The waitress rarely came over to our table. Not enough offers for refills. Food was subpar… I would rather select the food trucks over this restaurant. The pricing for the selection of food, would be way better than what it was. The kids meal burrito was just beans and cheese, it looked like a frozen burrito from the grocery store. The beans tasted pre packaged. The rice wasn’t to bad. The carne asada was very chewy and not much seasoned. I definitely would not be returning…

I had heard for years how great this place was and yesterday finally went and tried it. This place was awful. They brought chips once at the beginning of the meal and then waited to bring more until we were almost finished eating for a party of 16 people, the salsa and bean dip were bland compared to my local Mexican restaurant. I ordered a steak Marinero and I didn't like it, it was very very tiny, a small wedge and it only had 4 shrimp on it and I could have cooked a better steak myself, it came with two slivers of avocado and parsely combine that with poor chip poor service and all my relatives eating them and I was hungry until the chips came at the very end and no one else wanted them. This is the worst eating experience I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant and I will never return to Los Toros because of it. I can not say anything good about their food or their service. The best I can say is it had good lighting and ambience and I can see why it's a building and a bar people would want to spend time in but just know no one comes to this place to eat the food. It's food and cooking is trash compared to other Mexican restaurants in the San Fernando Valley it's bar and real estate and parking are whats better. As a life long resident of Los Angeles it took me one visit to figure out this place out and that I don't ever want to come back. It's hard enough getting a good meal in America with our food system I don't want to pay for real estate I want to pay for good food when I go to a restaurant. If you feel the same way avoid this place because you do not get good food or service when you eat here. It's probably all just frozen sysco foods. This place was gross how bland the chips and salsa were I wouldn't buy that for myself at home how dare your restraunt charge me a quarter of a hundred dollars for defrosted sysco foods and chips.

Had the worst experience. Used to love this place. However, tonight service was extremely lacking. Our server was more focused on tending to a large party then providing equal service to my party of 2. Had to ask 3 people for water. Had to wait super long to place a to go order because again our server Nelly prioritized a bigger party. Carne asada was lacking in flavor and size. You’re better off going to Salsa and Beer. Trust me. Margarita… why is it more expensive for one on the rocks then blended???? Avoid this place if you can. You’re gonna pay for mediocre food and shitty service. UPDATE: HOW BAFFLING THAT THE OWNER IS UPSET AT MY RIGHT TO LEAVE A REVIEW TO THE WORLD LOL. If only a manager was on sight to observe the lack of check in and service AND STEP IN, maybe I wouldn’t have had to leave a review like this. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t even get an apology, instead a berating response. Yeah avoid this place. 😂😂😂😂

I had a lunch break and not much time and I was super hungry! I eat burritos all the time, and I love burritos, but if you are eating for the first time Mexican food, I don’t recommend to eat here! You will never eat Mexican again! The burrito I had was with little very dried beef, few pieces and hard. So I am exactly not sure what it was. It came with big slices of Tomatoes, big pieces of onions and big pieces of bell pepper. Bean dip, not my favorite as Everyone was talking about. Sorry that I didn’t mentioned it in the restaurant, I just didn’t had the time and didn’t wanted to hurt anyone’s feeling! But the kitchen/chef needs work!!! And it’s not nice to call Customers Coward and than still asking to come back! Weird

To be honest we were expecting more then that, 🫤 my husband order a carnitas plate which the price was more tha 22 dlrs, let me tell you, the meat was very dry like carnitas from a week ago 😢and less than 1/2 pound. You can see the dryness in the pic. My plate was Jalisco something 12th bull that was steak with onions and bell peppers tomatoes, rice and beans with only 5 little pieces of meat 🍖 😫 the price off 23 dls, I'm very disappointed about it. I won't recommend it.

Los Toros had been on my list forever since the last time I was here as a kid, but sadly, it was a total letdown. The food was bland and tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. The service was a disappointment at the bar area, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. Honestly, I've had better Mexican food from a frozen dinner.
