What a fantastic venue! We picked the perfect afternoon for a rooftop Sunday lunch in the sun. The food was tasty, full of flavour and the meat plentiful. Presentation was equally fantastic on both courses. The service was attentive and the staff very pleasant and welcoming. Such a chilled, relaxed vibe, we will be back - thank you!

Had a lovely treat at this Cheltenham restaurant. Food was delicious- stand out dish was the John Dory for the main course- the sauces were sublime… dessert of chocolate and hazelnut was also excellent and it’s very cool have lunch in this modern restaurant. Faultless service too..

Enjoyed late night birthday cocktail at the Nook on five bar - so expertly prepared by Daniel that we had to have a second! Highly recommend this spot for its great ambience and excellent service. We didn’t eat so haven’t reviewed the food.

Fantastic food, service and cocktail menu! I’m still thinking about the ravioli starter. Beautiful spectatorial rooftop bar and a lovely atmosphere - well worth the price. Shall be returning as much as possible!

Absolutely outstanding. The reason it's only 3 for atmosphere is because we were the only people there, but it was mid-week and only a few days before Valentines day. The service was impeccable and the food was exquisite. The amuse bouche of beschamel choux bun was so delicious, they were kind enough to let us have another one. We had the fixed price menu which was very reasonably priced and plentiful. Best meal I've had in Cheltenham in a long time. And the setting is beautiful.

Great food, great service and great value. I went for lunch at The Nook with my wife last Friday and was impressed with quality of the food and the service. My wife had the bream which was fantastic!

It's been a great afternoon tea. Majorine the chef has been awesome. Tailored made sandwiches and eggless cakes. They were absolutely delicious. The service by Chloe, Marino and Bruno was amazing. Everything was brilliant. MERCI Team Nook.

A group visit to Cheltenham and wanted a nice breakfast. We hit the jackpot with this quality penthouse restaurant. Excellent service and faultless breakfast which is served on weekends. Not the cheapest but far from expensive and worth every penny whilst enjoying a roof top view of the town.

We visited for my partner's birthday and were blown away. We don't normally do posh meals out so this was an exceptional treat for us. Upon arrival we were greeted at the exit to the lift and our coats were taken before we got to choose where we sat. It was a quiet night so we were worried that it might have all gone too quickly but they were brilliant at timing everything so we didn't feel like things were rushed. The food itself was impeccable, everything was cooked to perfection and they made everything in house which made it all even better because it was so fresh. While it is expensive we felt it was worth it and both left feeling that this was one of the best meals we've ever had. The atmosphere was also really lovely, while it is a posh restaurant it didn't feel pretentious and just generally felt very relaxed. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

I went to dinner with my friend recently and it was a lovely experience. We had the venison and the duck both of which were fantastic. I would highly recommend this place. I am definitely coming back here again.

Nice drinks, friendly staff, good looking venue. Came here around lunchtime for a few drinks with a couple of mates. Sat at the bar and got chatting with the bartender. She was happy to make drinks that were off menu, still made with great attention. Also let us look closer at some gin bottles on the shelf. Just a generally friendly person and nice place to be. Definitely happy to come back next time I'm in Cheltenham.

A Great place but pricey. Lovely views at the top overlooking Cheltenham. Very friendly staff. My wife went for a mother's day flower arranging with my daughter. I joined them for the afternoon tea which was amazing.

Rooftop has beautiful views over Imperial gardens. Very good service and relaxing atmosphere. Pork belly is the best, paper thin crispy skin melt in the mouth.

We held our wedding reception and party at The Nook and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had private hire of the whole restaurant for our 90 guests, and from start to finish everything was seamless. One of the highlights was being able to create our own menu, which made the meal feel so personal and our guests are still raving about how delicious the food and cocktails were! A special mention must go to Hannah, our point of contact both in the lead-up and on the day. She was absolutely incredible, attentive, reassuring, and made sure everything ran so smoothly. The whole team went above and beyond to make the day feel effortless for us. This venue is now so special to us, and we’ll definitely be back every year to celebrate our anniversary. If you’re looking for a stylish venue with outstanding service, food, and drinks, we couldn’t recommend The Nook more highly.

This was our first time dining at the nook and the location the design and the hospitality was all 5 star .The views were stunning. The Cheltenham observation wheel was an added bonus. The steak was the best steak I have had. Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavouring was incredible. Will definitely be going again. All staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We had our wedding here! First ever wedding at The Nook and we can’t recommend them highly enough! Sam and Dan ensured everything went smoothly and the food- wow. *chef’s kiss* Alisha’s attention to detail and flavours was beautiful. Our guests were raving (and still do) about how delicious the food was. Of course, the view itself was stunning which made the perfect backdrop as the sun was setting in the evening. I couldn’t have asked for more and the whole event turned out even better than I imagined. We want to thank the whole staffing team- Sam, Dan, Alisha, Rodrigo and everyone who made the evening a success. We had a truly memorable evening. Thank you!

Visited the Nook for a surprise Birthday Dinner and couldn’t really fault it. The food was lovely, service was very attentive, atmosphere was great with live pianist playing. I’ve visited for drinks in the past but never had dinner and I’m glad I did, it made for a great evening.

We love this restaurant very classy and quiet snd tucked away at the top of a building! Great for breakfast treat and if nice weather recommend outside table - superb views.

This is not just a fine dining restaurant but an experience in itself. The location is easily accessible, and the views across Cheltenham are incredible. The decor has been well thought out, the background music is non intrusive, and this all helps to create a perfect ambience. From the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive and welcoming. As for the food, fantastic! We had the terrine and scallops to start, halibut and venison for main and couldn't resist the chocolate delice for dessert! All this accompanied by a lovely wine. I can highly recommend the Nook on Five for drinks, food, service and a fine dining experience.

Just had an amazing afternoon tea here with 10 friends to celebrate my 60th birthday. We were blown away by the food. Several guests commented that it was the best they had ever had. The whole experience was a good one from booking & communication with the team who were very organised, to the restaurant waiting staff and the quality and presentation of the food. It was all excellent. I'm looking forward to bringing my better half for supper in the very near future!

Sensational meal.. new celeb chef in (I have always enjoyed his restaurants) and had a fantastic set of starters and the beef welly was an absolute winner! Lots I wanted to try too - big upgrade from the past which was too limited I felt!

My husband and I had a delightful lunch at this restaurant. The ambiance was lovely, the cuisine was exceptional and delectable, and the pricing was reasonable. The waiter, Chichi, provided excellent service and attentively catered to our needs. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic setting and fantastic food, all served by a team of people who really care and who delivered a brilliant experience. And, to top it off, it’s good value overall.

I booked this restaurant for my fiancés birthday and it did not disappoint. The staff are incredible, the food is DEVINE. We had the ravioli, with some bread and herbed butters, then the beef Wellington to share with a chocolate mousse desert and everything was perfect. The atmosphere was so chic, if I could give higher stars then just five I would. Amazing amazing amazing

Wonderful atmosphere, food and experience..the service given by Clara was 11/10. She was incredibly welcoming and gave us brilliant suggestions of what to choose from your menu. Will definitely be coming again. The pianist was incredibly talented and set the mood perfectly.

I have been to the Nook a few times recently. Bruno gave such a professional, outstanding service that I couldn't wait to return for a special occasion with my parents. Again, Bruno's friendly disposition, along with ALL the staff (exceptional bar tender , exquisite cocktails) and excellent knowledge of wine, all made for a fantastic lunch in Cheltenham. Highly recommended. Many thanks :)

Dining at The Nook with my boyfriend and our friends was such a lovely, memorable evening. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service made us feel very well looked after—both Jordan and Bruno were incredible. The food was amazing; our table especially enjoyed the courgette flower and the yellowfin tuna, both full of flavour and presented beautifully. The cocktails were also delicious, the Cuban daiquiri being my personal favourite of the evening. As the vegetarian in the group, I had the pea risotto, which was absolutely divine—rich, perfectly balanced, and something I’d return in a heartbeat for. We ended the evening on a high with dessert, each of us having a different yet equally delicious dish, which was the perfect final touch to a truly special night.

Today was my 70th birthday, a party for 70. Drinks, extensive canapés, music, speeches etc. the Nook provided a faultless backdrop. Excellent food great service and a fabulous location! A truly memorable event! Thoroughly recommend the venue if you want to feel special! Thanks and very well done by the whole team!!

A wonderful dining experience. Four of us had lunch here a couple of days ago, and we thoroughly enjoyed both the food and experience. The food was awesome! I can strongly recommend the fish and chips - the best I've ever had. Portion sizes are 'filling'. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We had a lovely table overlooking Cheltenham's Imperial Gardens and the Cheltenham skyline. And - we all loved 'BellaBot'.... Definitely going back.

The food was delicious! We had the chicken and the lamb dishes, and were very pleased. The staff was attentive, attractive, and friendly, slightly formal but not stuffy at all. Lots of ill-dressed partying folks around, but the staff rose above the atmosphere with professional service we appreciated. Many thanks!

Lovely atmosphere with wonderful service. I always felt comfortable and attended when I had any queries. My girlfriend was looking stunning as well so that might be effecting my opinion lol. Groovy place to check out. Not cheap but as long as you're aware of that going in; you'll have a pleasant experience.

A lunchtime treat. We've been before and really enjoyed the fish and chips and not too expensive. This time, no fish and chips but we ordered off the lunchtime menu, you need to add side dishes of the main menu. Portions sizes were reduced and so we managed 3 courses. We had 2 beers and 2 coffees. £99. Too expensive to repeat sadly.

We booked the Nook on 5 for 6.30 to coincide with a local gin tasting close by, however we were finished about an hour earlier so pitched up on the off chance they'd let us eat earlier, which they did. It was a dark wet winter's evening so we missed the view over Cheltenham from this top floor restaurant, however 5he interior is modern & stylish. Staff were attentive and took our orders , I had the yellowfin tuna starter (£20+) and to be honest it was probably worth the price. Fantastic dish with yuzo jelly & squid ink cracker, probably the best starter I've ever had. I was less enthusiastic over the Brill main. At £35 I would have expected more, I ordered a side of broccoli (£7) only to find it came with broccoli anyway, the waitress should have known this and told me. I had a 175ml Malbec (£11), and we were given an amuse boucle of Camenbert profiteroles & a Madeline with Strawberry cream chocolate to finish off. Overall the location, interior & food are quality, however the prices could be 10% cheaper and still be top end prices, Cheltenham is not London after all! My low score for atmosphere is only due to our early dining, I'm sure it picks up later.

Went for an afternoon tea. Pleasant service although quite surprised that we had to wait nearly an hour for food since it was pre-booked, confirmed and a set afternoon tea but the waitress brought us more, fresh tea after the food had been served. Food was delicious and fresh. Would go again.

Overall a lovely evening , but pricey , cocktails on average £13 but tasty , food portions were decent and also tasty. Our biggest disappointment was we were asked if we wanted bread and olives to start whilst waiting for our starters ! First off they came at same time as starters so sort of pointless and then when bill arrived we discovered the bread and butter was a charge of £12 for a small piece of bread each (4of us) and little dish of butter I absolutely think that is ridiculous and quite out of order bearing in mind the food itself is not cheap ! A token complimentary portion of bread and butter would be much more appropriate. Also my cocktail was taken away before it was finished ! I would go again as overall it was a good evening but be more wary of add ons etc

The service started off attentively but noticeably declined as the restaurant got busier. I requested a cocktail menu that never arrived, which was disappointing. The amuse-bouche was underwhelming—simply a small portion of soup served in a shot glass. That said, my starter, the courgette flower, was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the main course (roasted hake) was dry and tasted like it had been left too long on the pass. Overall, it was a pleasant evening, but I’m not sure we’d return in a hurry. The price didn’t quite match the quality of the experience.

Went there for dinner for my birthday and was a bit disappointed about the overall experience. I think the staff is nice in general, but for a restaurant like this, I would expect the staff to be more attentive and to focus more on the details. For example, we ordered still water but got served tap water. For the food, the taste for the starter and main is good but the layout can be improved. We didn’t enjoy our dessert at all. It doesn’t look or taste good, which hugely impacted our dining experience. Actually the two tables next to us didn’t even order any dessert at all after checking the dessert menu. I’d say dessert is definitely something they need to look into. We would still go back as they have a great view, especially in summer. But we’ll probably just go there for drinks or brunch. Hopefully the service will be improved before our next visit.

Afternoon Tea, not much variety in the sandwiches, . I suspect scones were from frozen, brushed with milk or egg white, the appearance was over cooked and rather tasteless. Young girl waitress very good. Young mail dressed as if he had wandered in off the street, shirt hanging out behind.

Visited a bit ago and while it was a great place to be with amazing surroundings and a perfect view of Cheltenham sadly the food was a bit lacking. Great service and lovely surroundings however.

Booked The Nook on Five for my Husbands 60th Birthday on a Friday afternoon, as it was a special birthday I wanted something special! Booking and taking our deposit was quickly done - and Lucy on the booking team very accommodating. Our table was booked for 3:30 - for 11 of us. Our Daughter arrived first at 3:15 to be asked 'Where are the rest of the group' as our food needed to be ordered by 3:30 as the kitchen was closing (We were not asked to Pre-book) so she rang in a bit of a panic, as I said to her our table was booked for 3:30 as long as we were there for 3:30 it was what it was - we arrived about 3:25. Staff hovering for us to get our food orders in, but we were still awaiting our Son who unfortunately was running 10 minutes behind schedule due to unforeseen circumstances. We had to Whatsapp him the menu to choose on his way as they kept coming over to ask if we had decided - Not great at all!! Ordered our food - The food was ok, nothing out of this world or exceptional like I had imagined. Starters quickly came out, soon as we finished taken away and mains and desserts - very rushed. We were not offered our 1/2 glass of wine each or Tea and coffee which was to be included! The staff became a little less stern faced when we were nearly finishes - but it was already ruined. I sat on what had happened for a little while and thought I would just like them to know my experience as it was not great, and did not want anything from it just feedback for them. Our meal was on the 26th September so I emailed on 30th September and did not get a response, not even acknowledged that I had emailed, so I emailed again on 8th October to say how disappointed I was for my email to not even be acknowledged! After this email Ed (Managing Director) asking me for a few days as the Literature Festival was on so they were busy!! Ed finally called me on 14th October, and I explained the situation to him and to be fair he apologised for not coming back and said he was not very good at responding - from a managing director this really needs to change, but I accepted it - and he said he would come back to me no later than Friday 17th October - I finally got a reply on the 23rd again late - saying he had looked at the booking etc and saw that we had paid a service charge which I had not even noticed as I just wanted to leave and he would refund 50% of it - Fair enough! He also wanted to offer us a voucher to return, we'll try it again - but not all 11 want to come back so said there would be 4 - This was on the 23rd October, he asked for the card number to return the service charge - still not received 5/11 - I mentioned about the voucher for 4 - still not been replied to - emailed again 29th October - still nothing!! Appalling - and I wish we had gone somewhere else!

Gutted after our evening at nook. My friends and I had been looking forward to our reservation and had paid a large deposit. Beautiful views and lovely interior. We were enjoying our first round of drinks and the evening was completely ruined by a staff member (short man with glasses) telling us out of the blue that he had cancelled our booking as we were not having food. There is an issue with the bookings page where the only option to book for over 6 people is for restaurant/drinks - this requires the deposit. We assumed this was just because we were a large group, however, this actually means just for food, though this is not specified anywhere. Having worked in hospitality I was shocked with the amount of contempt that we were treated with despite spending a large amount of money and being respectful guests. This staff member made us feel really uncomfortable and ruined the whole atmosphere of our evening. This was clearly a technical issue/miscommunication and there was no need to be rude. This is a shame as it reflects poorly on the rest of the staff who were lovely, warm and professional. I will not be going back to Nook and will advise my friends not to bother.

We arrived to find just two members of staff on duty and, for a while, only two other diners. For a Thursday evening, the restaurant felt uncomfortably empty. The menu had been reworked into a fixed-price format, but with almost every dish carrying a supplement, the concept didn’t really hold together. It felt contrived rather than considered. The Orkney scallop (yes, a single scallop) was priced at £15. Of the five starter options, two were liver dishes, some of our party passed on that basis, and the portions throughout were more in keeping with a seven-course tasting menu than a conventional two- or three-course meal. The food was perfectly acceptable, but not memorable. It feels as though the restaurant has rather lost the plot. The owner is clearly ambitious, but the haughty atmosphere of the early days now seems to be paying back harsh dividends. The introduction of a robot waiter to clear tables is a particularly jarring touch, and not one that sits comfortably in a restaurant aspiring to Michelin recognition. We had avoided the Nook on the basis of haughty staff when having a drink, we will now avoid it becasue it doesn't stack up on any meaningful level,

My son and his girlfriend had reserved a table for her birthday. From the moment they arrived they were extremely uncomfortable. The host/reception person showed them to a table they had not requested and when they asked if they could sit somewhere else the person said no. They were there not more than 15 mins. Ordered drinks and called me to pick them before even having their meal. They really felt uncomfortable and basically unwelcome. I picked them and took them somewhere else and they had a lovely meal and drinks. In future please treat ALL your paying clients with the same respect and courtesy.

We visited The Nook expecting a premium, fine-dining standard of service, but the experience fell far below even the level of a basic pub chain. At first, impressions were good — the restaurant is clean, tidy and well presented. However, the service that followed was absolutely terrible. After our afternoon tea was served, we were completely neglected. No one bothered to check if the food was okay, whether we needed more drinks, or if we required anything at all. We stayed for around three hours in total, and for almost two full hours after finishing our food, we sat at a table that was never cleared. Not a single member of staff approached us during that entire time. These are extremely basic standards that any restaurant should meet — and The Nook failed at every one of them, despite claiming to offer a premium experience. It also felt uncomfortable that we were the youngest people in the room, and despite being well dressed we couldn’t help but wonder if that was the reason we were ignored. Whether intentional or not, the impression it left was awful. To make things worse, when we asked to remove the automatic service charge (which was absolutely not deserved), the waitress didn’t apologise, didn’t ask what the issue was, and didn’t even attempt to acknowledge our justified calm complaint. She simply walked off and returned with a revised receipt. In a restaurant that claims to provide a pleasant, refined experience, this behaviour was incredibly unprofessional. The food itself was okay, but nothing memorable or worth returning for — and certainly not enough to justify such poor service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend The Nook to anyone looking for a premium or even remotely attentive afternoon tea.

Extremely disappointed. My husband and I have visited before and been welcome to have drinks whilst working. The manager today was very unwelcoming and unprofessional, pulled an awful face and said he didn’t want people working on laptops without making eye contact. Shame professional, entrepreneurial members of the public aren’t made to feel welcome. No explanation, no apology, no flex so we left and took our business elsewhere, won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.
