Good enough to want to order it again; WHILE you’re still sitting there 🏆🏆🏆! Pretzel trio (light cracker crispy shell, perfectly salted with buttery toasted edges) 10/10 Garlic Parmesan 🍟 lightly oil tossed and salted with fresh tasting Parmesan 🧀 8/10 🧅 rings (perfectly golden brown, light chew, NO PULL with dipping sauce 10/10 Meatloaf (on special and going away) with 🥦 (like I seasoned it myself) & perfectly creamed mashed 🥔 with gravy 10/10 🥨 🥖 pudding served warm with vanilla 🍨 & light but tasty caramel sauce which reminded me more of pancake syrup consistency than traditional caramel sauce. Either way it was awesome. 8/10 for me but 10/10 for my brother. I prefer a softer and more wet bread pudding. He prefers more of a cake consistency. POINT IS, buy all of it, NOW. If you don’t love it, I’ll pay for it. Well, really I won’t pay for anything but that won’t matter. You’ll be so happy you tried it. I’m sure every there is good as the team was streaking through the place with purpose the entire time I was there. If you ask for Tiffany you’ll get Tier 1 service. She was fantastic and so cool🤙
Stopped in for a quick drink and ended up really enjoying the atmosphere. The food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, and it definitely convinced us that we’ll be back to try it next time. There were lots of TVs throughout the place, which made it a fun spot to hang out and watch a game. The overall vibe was lively but comfortable, and the staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Looking forward to coming back for food and another visit soon.
Huge great beer selection. Fantastic wings and tons of TVs. I wish we had had more time to hang out and rip some shots watching the Bears come back against the Packers. I bet this place was lit. Will def go back next time I'm in Chicago
Our go to place for a pretzel when we’re in town. Very fresh and brushed in a buttery glaze. Went back the next morning for a Bloody mary and mimosa. Excellent service both times and friendly staff. Good beer, selection and great atmosphere. Also did the Bears bus which was a nice option. Drinks on the bus and a safe ride to the game. My only suggestion would be for the bus to leave earlier as we got to our seats three minutes before the game. Great place to watch most games as well.
This is my favorite bar in Chicago. The food is absolutely delicious and always fresh, and the atmosphere is great whether you come by yourself to watch sports or with a group of friends. This place has never let me down.
Such a fun spot! My friends and I were looking for a place to grab drinks and apps before heading out for the evening. This place was right next to our hotel, so I wasn’t expecting much but I’m so glad we stopped in. It was packed and buzzing with energy, and it felt like a true local hangout. I can only imagine how fun it must be during peak Chicago sports season. Drinks and food were great, and even though our server was clearly busy, she still made time to check on us and was fantastic!
stopped in for supper on a sunday night and could not be more glad we did!!! service, food, and vibes were out of this world. our server was super friendly and attentive, we couldn't have possibly asked for better!! gave great recommendations and good conversation :) the food was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were huge!! the local pretzel trio alone is worth the visit. they were SO crispy and all three dips were so good. the wings are famous, understandably so. insanely crispy and literally the best sauces i've ever had. and the birria grilled cheese was amazing and flavorful. def will be back for more. the atmosphere was super chill and they played great music! thanks so much!
Always love the experience at Timothy O'Toole's! Fantastic location near miracle mile. Wait staff are always helpful and efficient. Solid quality to price value ratio. Solid menu offerings that do not make you feel like everything is fried. Also love the bar choices, particularly the beer list.
I was so happy to find this place after walking around downtown for almost an hour. Most restaurants' kitchen closes at 10 pm but open until midnight for drinks. However, at this place the kitchen is open till 2am. I appreciated the choices from a full menu. I did walk right past at first, thinking it was closed, but the restaurant is downstairs.
the nachos were solid, just classic in preparation and we also optioned for adding on birria to add more flavor. Don’t snooze on their Reuben Egg Rolls which are a direct copy of a reuben sandwich in taste, but the texture of the egg roll was crunchy. A very creative way to have a reuben without comitting to a sandwich. Now it was time for my favorite item here which are their traditional wings. They have a variety of flavors, but we went with their Irish Ghost, Buffalo, and Garlic Parmesan. The Garlic Parmesan was the right ratio of cheesy to garlicky. Crispy exterior, and I really enjoyed these on their own with no dipping sauce. The Irish Ghost reminded me of the Buffalo flavor, but this definitely had a mild kick of spice to it as well. The Buffalo wings were solid, and my favorite combo in bar food history is a nice buffalo wing with some blue cheese. We tried the boneless wings as well with a sticky orange sauce that was sweet and these wings are white meat too.
Tonight quick bite out was delicious and service was friendly and fast. Madelyn and Keith thank you for the hospitality! The recommendation on the macaroni chicken with bbq sauce was just what I needed! My husband also enjoyed his wings and tots. Thanks again!
Ask about Sara at the bar, because you’ll get the best (and fastest) service around. TO’T has a fantastic beer selection and tasty food. You will not have a bad time.
We loved our experience here! This is a very cool underground pub. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating to us. The food was 10/10. Very delicious and satisfying. It's a great location within walking distance of our favorite hotel the Warwick Allerton (off Michigan Ave). We love that Timothy O'Tooles is open late because sometimes we arrive in the city later at night and it's fun to have a delicious option that's still open. You need to come here if you like good food and a good time
Love the ambiance & food of this pub. Never been disappointed. Great friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Our go to place for the 4th meals or even light snacks. Highly recommend this to Y'all.
Amazing spot for delicious late-night food and drinks! Our server, Greta, went above and beyond to take care of our (admittedly high-maintenance) group with patience and a smile. The entire staff was incredibly attentive to allergy concerns—so much so that the chef personally came out to walk us through the menu and ensure everything was safe. We started with two appetizers, planning to order mains afterward, but they were so generous and satisfying that I ended up skipping my entree and taking dessert to go. I couldn’t resist the pretzel bread pudding—and I’m so glad I didn’t. It was absolutely delicious!
Now Timothy O'Toole's is a proper sports bar in the Streeterville neighborhood in Chicago. They have plenty of TVs around the central bar and along the outer walls. The beer selection is large. We also had the Reuben egg rolls, which are one of the best things we've eaten this entire trip. Prices are in line with most bars in the area. Staff is friendly.
My husband and I simply loved this bar! We were walking around and found it on Maps and we WERE NOT DISSAPOINTED. Service was good, beer was cold and food was surprisingly DELICIOUS for a bar (even compared to a restaurant). I would definitely recommend if you like sports bars with great food.
Great little spot for drinks and food. Welcoming staff.
Our group had a great time here, it was fast service with a very attentive server. The drinks were really nice, we went with beer of the month, guava mule, classic old fashioned with a side of fries. Really great vibes with the music. They have ample seating space and are open till late. Totally come here to have a good time.
Kris is an amazing server. My best service experience during my Chi-town visit thus far. Prices are fair and food is great.
Jonathan the bartender made my visit welcoming and pleasant. Will return when Im visiting. Great bar for sports!
We celebrated my wife birthday. She enjoyed every second the drinks and drinks and drinks she had lol. Don't worry I was driving. The food the service was all great. Even one of our guest needed help because of the stairs that was handled by the staff. Great job staff and cooks.
Great Pub for food and drinks. Good atmosphere, great location, reasonable prices! I ordered the stout meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggies. The stout they used for meatloaf or the gravy added a nice flavor..some mild chocolate notes with that strong stout finish... it had a little spice to it, which was welcomed. The pretzel bread pudding with the bourbon caramel glaze and vanilla ice cream was my favorite dessert of the day! Great job on everything.
We enjoy the food and atmosphere very much. I wanted to say how much we appreciate your staff - especially Alfredo. He outworks everyone else by a mile. He keeps his head down and works incredibly hard. Your Manager, Mustafa (sorry for the spelling) is also very hard working and cares about your guest. He is easy going and approachable. We will continue to be regular guests.
This place was awesome. Food was quick, delicious, staff friendly, and the atmosphere reminds you of a smaller sport bar. Would recommend to anyone or family visiting the city.
No wait even though they were very busy. The pretzel was amazing, so good!. Our waitress was great. This was the first meal we had in Chicago, ever. It was very loud but it's in the basement of a building. I
We arrived in time for a 30 minute wait, but the wait was worth it. The atmosphere is very exuberant and loud but we were there during TNF and the 3rd game of the MLB championship series. The wait for our dinner was not horrendous considering how busy they were. The food was delicious. My husband did the Big Timmy challenge and the neighboring tables got a kick out of it. He did complete it and got a T-shirt. The food was good and served fresh.
I really enjoy visiting Timothy O’Toole’s Pub whenever I’m in the area. The pub has a fun, energetic atmosphere without being too crowded. The drinks menu is extensive, and the waitresses are very helpful with recommendations. The food is fantastic. It’s a great spot to hang out and watch sports on their many tv's. The combination of service, food, and ambiance makes it a reliable choice.
I really enjoy visiting Timothy O’Toole’s Pub whenever I’m in the area. The pub has a fun, energetic atmosphere without being too crowded. The drinks menu is extensive, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. The food is consistently good, with generous portions that make it perfect for sharing. I particularly enjoy their appetizers and pub-style entrees. It’s a great spot to hang out with friends, watch sports, or just enjoy a casual evening. The combination of service, food, and ambiance makes it a reliable choice.
Stepping into Timothy O'Toole's was such a relief—it was late on a Friday, we were tired, and it was pretty much the only place open past midnight near our hotel. The immediate walk downstairs gave it this cool, hidden "speakeasy" vibe that I instantly loved. Our waitress was named Bryy, and honestly, she made the night. She was incredibly warm, chatting with us like we were old friends and making us feel right at home. We trusted her recommendations completely! We started with her suggestion of the Birria egg rolls and added a side of the buffalo boneless wings, grabbing a Pinot Noir and a Jack and Coke for drinks. Even though the place was busy, our food and drinks arrived quickly, and Bryy checked on us frequently to make sure we were okay. The food was genuinely delicious. The boneless wings were perfectly crunchy and had a really good kick to the spice level. The birria egg rolls were great too; the dipping sauce wasn't spicy or super authentic tasting, but the rolls themselves hit the spot. We were having such a great time soaking up the atmosphere. It's totally a sports bar—there were like 10 TVs just in our little corner alone, which was really impressive for the space! It is pretty noisy, so maybe not the best place for little kids, but it's perfect for hanging out with friends or grabbing a late-night drink. We enjoyed ourselves so much we told Bryy what a great time we had, and she sweetly told us she’d be working the next three days if we wanted to come back. It was exactly the cozy, friendly spot we needed.
We stopped in for lunch and had a chicken bowl and smash burger. Each plate had a plentiful amount of food and were pretty good. The place was clean and well decorated/designed for guests filled with a plentiful amount of TV's. Seating was a little confusing as no one was at the host stand nor was there a sign saying to wait or seat ourselves. After waiting several minutes we just went and found a table and a waiter eventually came over but it still took another 6-10 minutes to get food menus but we were able to order drinks in the mean time.
Came here twice within a few days of each other, once late night to get food and the other time to watch the cubs game. This is definitely your everyday sports bar to come and watch a game or a place to stop in and have some drinks. Great location by hotels and a place where out of towners and locals in the area mix. The first time it took a while for us to be seated at a table later in the evening which is to be expected but the second time we came before the game it was pretty empty till game time. Both times our wait staff were friendly & attentive. The first time we had wings & fries, they were good! Def a good way to end the night with more drinks. The second time we had the burger, the bacon turkey cheddar melt, and the pretzel bread pudding. Now usually with bar food I don’t expect too much but this food was definitely better than your average bar! It was hot and fresh, well seasoned. I absolutely recommend getting the pretzel bread pudding. I never order desserts at bars but my friend did and I helped her eat all of it. The pretzel held up well to the custard and isn’t that wet soggy feeling bred pudding normally has and the top had a little crisp to it. I’d absolutely choose coming here over the other bars because the service and food was above average. I’ll definitely be back in for more games and more of the delicious food!
Stopped in by myself after I caught the late night train into Chicago. Banana Fosters mule was AMAZING! Garlic burger was delicious and came out quick. Staff was friendly and the people watching was pretty entertaining.
So the food and drinks here were great and the staff were fantastic. My only complaint was how absolutely terrible the acoustics are in the restaurant. It was so loud and very hard to hear anyone trying to talk to you.
We were in the mood for some fish and chips while watching the Texas Rangers game in Chicago. We had to show our IDs before entering the pub, which is no big deal. The pub has plenty of TVs showing all sorts of sporting events. The wife ordered a cocktail and we had the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer. Both the dip and the chips needed more salt. For dinner, the wife ordered chicken mac and cheese, and I had the fish and chips. The wife enjoyed her mac and cheese, but I've had better fish and chips. I am not saying it was bad at all, just that I've had better at other places. The service was hit and miss. The waiter was quick with water and soda and the food came out quickly, but we had to get the waiter's attention to get refills on the water and soda multiple times. We enjoyed watching the game as we ate and the crowd was lively.
My daughter and I were in Chicago for The Mayhem Ball. O'Tooles was only two blocks from our hotel so we decided to eat there our first night, a Wednesday. I loved the fact that it's underground! We came in just before 7pm, there were no kids, so I asked the hostess if my under 21 date was ok to come in, she said "yes, you're fine since it's before 7." We were seated immediately. It was quiet for a bar/grill atmosphere, lots of TVs but no volume up on them. Several diners around us, some alone, a couple pairs, and one group of 6 people in our area. It was steady but not bustling. After traveling all day, we were grateful for a chill vibe. Our server was Liam. He was sweet and pleasant. Mostly quiet, but, if I remember right, he did engage us in conversation about Smashing Pumpkins (my daughter had on a shirt). My daughter ordered the cobb salad with ranch. It was loaded with all the goods and was very fresh and delicious. I got the reuben with fries and I ordered an old fashioned. The sandwich was tasty. The marble rye was grilled to golden perfection and they didn't skimp on the corned beef. The fries were really good for being plain fries, but would have been terrific with a special seasoning as optional or a shaker on the table. The old fashioned was delicious. I hope we can come back to Chicago again because I'd absolutely come back to O'Tooles to try something else. I highly recommend!
Really cool spot with a great atmosphere right off the miracle mile stepping down into a classic Chicago basement pub. Good place to watch a game with a great selection of beer. Would have been 5 stars but the shepherds pie tasted like a thin layer of insta-mash on top of bland beef stew.
Yo wet your wings. Sheesh. I visit the city often, and love your place, but please sauce your wings unless someone asks for dry. I get it, inflation and tariffs suck, but sauce em. Ps wings are solid a fat to meat ratio, good texture is that of a good quality. Late night this is up there
Only went for a drink and the selection was great for holiday cocktails. Chocolate orange old fashion was a tall pour and well made. Only tried the truffle fries so can’t comment on food but bar service was good with TVs playing sports and acoustic wasn’t bad. Perfect after walking a bit in Chicago.
I came in because I wanted food late at night and their kitchen was open. The food was decent, although I think the pretzel I ordered had mold on it? I show it in my last photo. I didnt complain because I wasnt sure, but out of all of the pretzel bits only one spot had this dark spot on the inside that to me could only have been mold. Im not sure why else there'd have been one dark spot like that. But it had been fried ir something after being cut into bits so it wasnt super obvious what that was. The Shepards pie was good. If you order the pretzel bits, be careful the cheese sauce is hot haha. I didnt realize and burned my tongue expecting cold cheese sauce. The staff were great, super busy but the bartenders made sure to check on me frequently.
We ate here during a recent trip to Chicago and it was a nice establishment. We ordered the Irish fries and a couple of burgers. The service was average, our server was a little slow and only came to our table twice in the hour we were there. We had to ask for water refills a couple of times and it wasn't that busy inside as we got an early dinner. Lots of TVs for watching the games. As a side note, we had a stroller with us and had to carry it down the stairs (not a big deal for us, as we are used to it), not sure if they had an elevator or another way down, just a heads up.
Update- we came back 2 days later. Have to give shouts out to Lisa who was working the bar alone and a group of 50 ppl showed up. When I say she did "her thang" managing with a smile....she was awesome. I love, love, love how managers Jason and Rashed stepped in to help. When we come back to the city, this will be a favorite....and I'm telling my friends that live here to support! ------------------------ We stumbled upon this bar because the one we were looking for had not opened yet. So glad we did. We sat at the bar (Chiefs at Browns was playing). HUGE seating atmosphere. Good service. Ruben eggrolls 👍🏽 but that turkey melt 👍🏽👍🏽🙌🏿! I have never had a margarita on tap....that Tres Agave is asombrosa [amazing]!!!!
Fun atmosphere. Food is so-so overall. Had the pretzel appetizer, which was decent. Didn’t really taste like pretzels but not bad either. Had the chicken Mac and cheese for dinner. It was decent. Again, good meal. Not a foodie destination but probably a good hang out place.
Somehow I’ve never been here but I’m glad I stopped by. The prices at first glance are extremely reasonable, and there’s a really good variety on the menu. We shared Irish nachos and I had the garlic burger for my entree. Neither was particularly great, but it wasn’t bad. I really liked the space and atmosphere, so I’d definitely come back and try something else.
Your average college student gem. Heard the wings were the best in Chi and decided to stop by. They weren’t frozen (awesome!) but the wings came out dry and cold. Cold. Had to send it back to the kitchen and they said they’d microwave them. Microwaved wings were a bit more juicier bc they were slightly warmer. Didn’t finish. The smashburger came with zero crust. Just your normal burger. Taste was normal. Very creamy though. Truffle tots and coleslaw were okay. Tots were tossed in truffle oil and the slaw was mayo-e. Service was never rude but indifferent to our needs. Just basic. Overall, if all you eat is college campus food and/or franchise food, this is your place. I, on the other hand. had an mediocre experience. I do want to try the wings again under ‘better’ circumstances. Definitely not the best wings in Chi to me for now.
This is the second time we ordered from this place. First time the burger came without cheese, which we never indicated and it was on the receipt. Today I ordered a chicken salad through DoorDash, chicken was cold and very dry. Some parts were literally inedible because of how dry they are. Quite disappointing.
Extremely rude service. Upon entering on January 27 around 11pm, I was told to leave a large group alone, the server assuming I wasn’t part of the large work group. We were all meeting up after a work conference. They then told us not to move seats, though we hadn’t ordered yet and there was a card for the table already. Needless to say, I did not order or stay long.
None of our food tasted good. Worst French dip I have ever had. Meat was very rubbery, chewy and fatty. Meat was wet like it was boiled. Spinach and Artichoke dip has no taste. And chips weren't good either. My girlfriend said her Ruben egg rolls didn't taste very good either. They advertise as being on man vs food. I figured their food would have been way better than this. This is one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I've never left a food review before but this was so bad I felt I had to....
The waitress was fine, but the rest of the restaurant was not good. It was dirty, they gave us a high chair that was broken and fallen apart, and they didn't had a other one. The worst thing is that they just offered a high chair in that condition out baby could have been hurt. Our table seem dirty. The food was over priced for just bar food. We decided to leave also because another table behind us, was complaining about their food taking too long, by the time we left they still had no food.
Our party of three ordered three beers. For one of the beers, our waiter brought us the wrong type. We asked them to bring us the correct beer, which they did. However, somehow, they ended up charging us for four beers, including the one that they took back to the bar and we did not drink. Possibly an honest mistake, but if we hadn't asked for an itemized bill (which they did not initially provide), we might have not noticed and we would have overpaid because of items we did not consume. On top of that, this restaurant charges a 3% credit card fee that is not disclosed ahead of time. When you ask for the check, the waiter comes to the table, prompts you with the POS and runs your card after you tip them. Let's say the total is $20 and you add a $4 tip. You would expect the final cost to be $24 as it is shown on the POS, right? You even press the green button and sign your receipt knowing that you are paying $24. Well, later you will find out that they charged you another $0.50 just because you used a credit card. While I don't like when restaurants charge credit card fees, I can be OK with paying them it if they are disclosed ahead of time. Well, in this case, this amount is added after the payment is completed and finalized, which is borderline (if not completely) illegal.
