Fun, live music is great. Especially the violins and the tunes they were playing reminded me of being a pirate! LOL I really really enjoyed it. I will be returning.

Show up early for the Irish Happy Hour featuring the Pub Scouts each Friday at about 3:30-4:30 PM. Small cover, catered vegan and meaty food, and discounts on delicious Guinness! From 1990 to 1998 and a few 21st century visits thereafter.

Throughout all of college, and beyond, this is my favorite bar. Great atmosphere, great people- the staff here are all amazing! I miss this place with all my heart, and it is the standard with which I evaluate any bar I go to.

Duffys hosts The Pub Scouts every Friday night. The band plays lively Irish traditional music for several hours making this little pup a warm and fun place to meet friends and have a few pints.

Duffy's is so fun! Last time I went they had a small cover charge ($2) and a really good DJ! There isn't normally a cover charge and when there is it is small in comparison to other places. Good drinks and a good time! !🍻

I really enjoy the kick back atmosphere. Both the front and back bars are speedy with service and make a nice stiff drink. The billiard area is relaxed and comfortable. Very well stocked and cared for. An all around enjoyable time with friends or alone for a drink or a game of pool. I hear the live music is quite a fun time as well.

The crowd here is typically more mature than what you'd find elsewhere in town, the staff is quick, they oftentimes have live bands or DJ's, and it's a great place to chill with friends. Loved going to Duffy's when I lived in Chico -- it made Chico feel a little bit more like home when I was there.

The Dolly Parton is a delicious tart drink that I highly recommend. Bartender and patrons were super friendly. 👌 No photos b/c I was busy have a chill time.

You will be treated at the door by the sounds of an Irish music collective called The Pub Scouts, they sit in a circle and have a lively jam session as the members flow in and out of the circle. Grab a pint of Guinness and a seat if you can find one. The collection of people moving about the tavern are as varied as the musicians and impossible to categorize. This is always our first stop on a successful date night.

Three Stars, being a powerful rating for stop in taverns.. Duffy's is really a sweet hole in the wall offering Irish music playing.. wonderful bar person's, mixing simple libations and pouring beer but always greets you with a smile .. Duffy's is a sweet stop in the chico life !!

It used to be better. The bartenders always have their heads down instead of watching the bar patrons. They lost a star because they stopped making their own ginger mix and the mules are very inconsistently made well now

Higher marks if bartender wasn't a b itch usually a cool place. I don't care if u have bartender experience working the last 5 years at some random bar on 16th n park. That bar is cool maybe she was mad cuz I said I liked the owner. Hmmm

Expensive liquor for a dive bar. Staff was friendly and attentive. Music from the juke box was terrible and you couldn't make your own choices.

The guy behind the bar was clueless. I waited at the bar for him to finish helping another patron and when he was done he began texting on his phone, and after that he began looking through paperwork never once looking up to see if there were any customers. After several minutes I called out for a pint and it was like I woke him out of a dream.

Came from the University Bar, was slightly intoxicated, but they still said they "weren't comfortable severing me" so I just left without a fight. That was ridiculous...

We had our drinks yanked away from us and were literally shoved out onto the sidewalk, much to our surprise. While we chose to see the humor in it, these sort of situations could easily escalate into something serious, given the hardcore drinking that takes place in Duffy's. There are plenty of places to have a beer and a laugh in Chico, so we will choose to give our business to other establishments that treat their customers better.
