Opinions de The Commons Social Empourium Chico
I loved the different seating areas, there is a mix of inside and outside seating. And the pizza was soooo good, very crispy crust. We got the margarita pizza and barbacoa pizza. They have a great selection of drinks, alcohol and non-alcohol. There are also games and a mini arcade for kids. I plan to return for sure!
Ok, here we go. This place is awesome. A different experience for me. When you walk in the door, you order your food. If you are drinking beer, you get a blank white card. There are rows of taps to choose from. The IPAs are mostly together. You tap the card at the base of the description of the beer . You poor your own beer. You can poor as little as you want to taste . The staff helps first-timers. There is a game section, too. It's really fun. Two large TVs with sports playing. Oh, and the pizza is really good, too. Kinda fancy ingredients. The pesto veg really didn't have anything but tomatoes and onions, but it was still very tasty. The chicken and waffle pizza was new to me , it was fun to try something new.
I love the multiple beer choices on tap and love the idea of pouring my own beer 🍺. No waiting in line for a busy bartender to finally get to you. They have live music sometimes and food trucks in the parking lot. I can't wait to come back. On top of all the amazing beers they have charging areas along the seating area 😀
10/10 for spectacular customer service and cleanliness! Most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious food, made with the freshest ingredients & love. Andy has been amazing, he makes the environment so welcoming! We will most definitely be coming back.
This is one of my absolutely favorite places in Chico. Honestly, the self serve vibe reminds me of alot of my hometown San Diego, there are quite a few spots in north park that have that option so this reminds me of being home. Every time my hubby and I have been here we meet new friends and all the staff is always super nice and friendly, I will be bringing any friends that come from out of town here, this is THE SPOT. On another note, all the pizza's are good but my personal favorite is the chile verde carnitas pizza, its so FIRE, ya'll have to try it asap!! I regret that I didn't try the pizza while I was here; it sure looks good! But I was full from some Thai food I had earlier. I digress. This is a good pour-your-own-drink type of place. There is wine, including a good zinfandel. No blueberry wheat beer, sadly. But they have a good variety otherwise. Every standard beer genre, and hard kombucha and hard seltzer. This would be a great place to bring friends, but I don't have any.
The commons an uncommon place for connecting. My first time there. I came because I follow a local band. As I got there, one staff offered to show me around. Using a band they give you you serve yourself beer. The selection was wonderful. I had the oatmeal stout. One can sample and then pick your favorite. You pay by the ounce. The concept is right on for the times. The place was set up for sitting with groups mostly. Games in a corner. A couple was playing dominos. I watched the band on the patio. Food trucks bring food. I think they rotate vendors. I felt comfortable. I love the cross sampling of beer and picking my own amount of beverage. I didnt see free water. I also didnt ask. I think if you are fired of the same old same old try the Commons.
Really nice place , pizza was delicious and the salad was simple but very flavorful definitely recommend to check out
This pizza really hit the spot. The recipe in the dough is perfect. enough air, enough crunch. it's perfect. The toppings were super fresh tasting and I love the balsamic glaze on top with basil. Would highly recommend this spot over any other in chico if you are looking for quality pie.
I've visited the commons on several occasions and have always enjoyed it. My latest visit was no exception. I am a big fan of hazy IPA beers and happened across what may be one of my new favorites. The brewery: Toppling Goliath Brewing Company the beer: Forced Flair. Absolutely delicious! What makes The Commons so special is thier ever revolving beers on tap.

Awesome place with fantastic service. It’s a lot to take in at first so the helpful service from the staff was so nice. They were more then happy to show us around if we asked questions. Gave great recommendations. Can’t wait to make it a regular spot. The pizza was great, chicken & waffles is a 10/10.

This is a great place for parties and solo drinking. There are games for kids while adults drink, well behaved pets are welcome. We even brought our bengal cat here. They have good pizza, good beers and ciders. Definitely in my top 3 bars to go to.
Awesome venue. The pizza was great. Order it and watch the show while you wait to pick it up. They have a pour your own beer wall. That was pretty cool. We saw The Expendables there it was a great show. You can get super close to the stage. They have v.i.p. booth that you can rent. Definitely recommend going there for a show.
I came here for a birthday and it was a great experience! The pizza was good and there were a TON of interesting combinations that I would like to try. The beer selection is outstanding and there are cool games outside and some arcade games inside too.
From family fun, to work meetings, to date night - this place is perfect! Delicious pizza. Great outdoor space, that’s also kid friendly.

Great place to hang out with friends. Plenty of games to play while hanging out too. Their pizza is VERY good, if not the best in Chico. The taps rotate and have a wide range of IPAs, hazys, cider, and light beers. Highly recommend checking them out if you’ve never been.
I love the commons ! Staff is always friendly and packed ! It’s such a great vibe. Beautifully designed and pizza is delish!! Always a yes when friends say let’s go!! There is always a place to sit and they even have tons of free board games to choose from. Bathrooms are always clean even if they have a slammed night this place maintains a fun and entertaining atmosphere!!
We ordered pizza to go so this review is for the pizza only. We ordered the special Hawaiian pizza, breadsticks, and cinnamon w/ brown sugar dessert pizza. We were pretty surprised at the lack of toppings, especially since those 3 items cost about $70. The pizza did not include bacon like the description online states, and the toppings were very scarce, mostly cheese pizza with about 2-3 toppings on each entire piece (1/8th) of pizza. Breadsticks were mostly crust with a small scatter of cheese and were over cooked. Wish I took pictures…despite all of that, the pizza was actually pretty good. I’d give it another chance but eat in-house next time with the kiddos to experience the whole atmosphere :)
The pizza was delicious as was the service and the atmosphere. The only reason I gave a 4 is because I went there on Friday night August 29 with about 90 people for a private pre wedding event and our area was outside. Many people in our party got tons of bug bites on their legs which made the wedding day pretty uncomfortable. I believe the bugs were coming up from the turf but I’m not sure but for the 20 people in my immediate family to have more than 40 bites on their legs still today is really crummy. I am sending an email to the restaurant as well as this review to alert other future guests.
This is a great spot to take kids as long as there’s shade at the time you go. I like that you order at the counter, no waiting for servers to check on you. I like the concept of the card and self-pour but a few times have experienced issues with empty kegs and a cup full of foam needing to get help. Also, most recently when I was there only one hazy IPA was on tap which was surprising. I will also say this is a great spot for groups as you don’t have to worry about splitting a check and there is plenty of seating options inside and out.

I don't know if I have just bad luck with this place but both times I have ordered from there has been terrible. The first time I went there I ordered the dessert pizza and it came out burnt. I asked the cashier for a refund and she told me they don't do refunds. Instead she gave me a card for a free pizza. Tonight I bought the old combo pizza ($23.99) and used my free card for the hawaiian. Both had burnt crusts and light on the toppings. Also, I paid for extra sauce and there was hardly any sauce on either of them. It is such a bummer because I really like The Commons. The staff is always amazing there and the vibe is very cool. Side note- I didn't get pictures of the full pizzas because my family ate before I saw them. But they agreed that these pizzas were poorly made.

First time here. Ranch chicken pizza was delicious. Customer service was not friendly. Didn’t explain how service worked; they were kinda standoffish. Would make a totally different experience if staff had good customer experience.
My bill was $108 but I was also charged a separate $90 deposit that so far has been held hostage all weekend. 2 drink cards, 2 sodas, 1 pizza $200. Nobody said there would be a deposit. Very disappointing and I will not be going back.
