Gary's BBQ spot is a must-try for that home-town dining experience! The sauces are home made and they pair great with the pulled pork sandwich. For dessert, the award winning banana pudding is a must try! Although I do not recommend the mac-n-cheese haha, everything else was great! The staff was warm and welcoming, even the food was surprisingly affordable! Although make sure to bring cash, as that's the only accepted payment. Gary's is a unique restaurant with vintage cars on display. The décor is unique as well with cool signs that Gary has personally collected over the last 50 years. If your reading this Gary, thanks again for the hospitality!

Wonderful place. Excellent food. Friendly folks. What more could you ask for? Love the decor as well, walls are covered with nostalgic signs, someone really put a great deal of work into this place since it opened back in 1971!. Be sure and stop by if you're anywhere close by, I think you'll be glad you did.

Charming restaurant and a great value! We got the combo plate (chicken and BBQ). Hushpuppies were huge and delicious, the potato salad was some of the best I have had around town, and the onion rings were crispy and delicious. The BBQ and chicken were fine but not the stars of this place. The different BBQ sauces were fun and delicious! Our server was fast, friendly, and helpful. She even gave us a good size sample of the banana pudding. Love the atmosphere of this restaurant!

Love this little hometown place! People we extremely friendly and welcoming. Menu felt and tasted like home cooked food. Atmosphere was eclectic with lots of interesting peices from the past. Define must visit stop!

The food is good. They menu is lacking in information- sides with plates etc. The lady checking us out was rude and acted like I did something wrong because the picked up my receipt with the plates. I had to remind the waitress of what we ordered, correcting at my own expense. Still the lady at the register was rude. There are plenty of BBQ places in the area. I'll try somewhere else next time. They also didn't give us any BBQ sauce with our to-go order. Mid at best.

I'm not a big fan of this place. Food was a 5 out of 10. Maybe it was old. They do not accept debit or credit cards. Limited parking. Too many other good BBQ joints within 5 miles.

This place is pretty bad, honestly. I spent over $150, but I ordered like everything on the menu so maybe it’s my fault. The food was trash, but the lights? Kinda cool. And the signs? Also cool, like funny or whatever. So yeah, food sucked but the lights were neat. Wouldn’t come back for the food, but the lights are cool, lol.

Local Hotspot for the locals, My server was excellent and was very attentive. Atmosphere was very country and nice. Food on the other hand was slightly above average. NOT impressed... Nothing to bring me back. The Mac and cheese I got with my combo plate was small box off brand look and taste. The beef was cooked well but bland. Not even the BBQ sauce made much difference. The chicken looked pressed and very thin. Think it may have been frozen bulk chicken breasts. Locals seem to love it. Parking lot is always full. But I've had much much better BBQ. I think if they used better quality food products I'd be a repeat customer. But until then I have to pass.

I've had BBQ from across the country and this was very meh. First off, the "BBQ" is pulled pork. There isn't an option for sausage, brisket, or any of the other meats you'd expect for BBQ. I asked for Mac and cheese as a substitute and it was Kraft Mac from the blue box...like what?! That's embarrassing for a place that styles itself a BBQ joint to serve. The hush puppies were pretty good but too oily. The pulled pork was pretty good so if that's all you want then this place may be to your liking. The waitress we had was great, she was on top of our table and the others she was handling. The interior is also a retro vibe which is cool. It's cash or check only which is okay but not great. Overall, not worth it, wouldn't go back.

Low and affordable price, it caters to local residents. Lunch time is pack, seems like seniors' favorite place to eat in town. Big portion for such low price also. I like their old decors of old signs and cars. There are even cars inside the restaurants. Problem is their BBQ is not that good. Side items are much better than their main item, maybe because it is easier to make. Fries and onion rings were hot and crispy. BBQ meat taste weird, BBQ sauce is too vinegary and watery. Locals might like it because they are used to it for decades but not someone driving by

The price was good, and the hushpuppies were probably the best savory ones I’ve had in the state, but the rest wasn’t great. If you go, bring cash, they don’t take cards of any kind and their ATM has an extra surcharge. 🙄 The cashier seemed annoyed that I didn’t know where to go to order food. It was my first time (and last) in the restaurant. The food was not what I expected. But the hushpuppies were good! The vibes in the restaurant were weird too. It felt like if you weren’t a regular that you weren’t welcome. It felt like it was a sundown town but in restaurant form. All of the vintage signs on the wall were fun to look at.

This place is NOT for people of color ! Ate lunch here today and the white lady with short hair literally ignored me and my cousin as we tried to pay for our bill , she even asked us are you guys trying to pay as if we were standing there to look cool …. We kindly said yes we would like to pay ….. So I proceed to hand her my ticket only for her to let 2 more WHITE people jump in front of us as if we were literally back in the 1930s This type of racism should NOT exist in 2025 our money is green just like eveyone else but I guess when your skin is BLACK you are NOT welcome at Gary’s white supremecy BAR B WE WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN !

People were telling me how fantastic this place was. So we gave it a try. The prices were great, but the service was not. I told the server we've never been here and I'm guessing they didn't pay attention. I asked for the BBQ Rib platter, then she said did you want pork or chicken. I was confused. Then when I went to pay I didn't realize they were cash only and was told that in a very sparky way. Again first time going there. So when we got home, firstly I got shredded pork, secondly no sauce at all, just dry shredded pork. Don't know how this place had such good reviews.
