It's been over 12 yrs since we last visited this location. The Thai BBQ chicken and sauce taste exactly the same. The beef satay with peanut sauce was charred to a crispy, well seasoned texture. The space was updated (no aquarium), and seating adequately spaced. When we come back to LA, it will definitely command another visit.

I've only come here twice but both times I've been pleasantly surprised. The man that helped me both times has been very accommodating and generous, even giving me a free Thai tea while I waited for my to go order. I've always loved Thai spots for the food but this is the first one I love for the hospitality! I'd give more than five stars if I could :c

One of the best restaurants in Chino Hills without a doubt. I’ve been going there since I was single digits in age and am 23 now. Tony always takes great care of me and makes me feel like family. God bless Thai BBQ!

I'll start with I've never had Thai food so this was a first experience for me but I do enjoy food and trying new places. Our waiter Tony after finding out this was our first trip suggested the Thai tea and is was so sweet even my daughter enjoyed it. We got a plate of spring rolls as an appitizer and matched with the chilli sauce they came with was the first of many impressive dishes to come to our table! My husband got the beef skewers, I got a seafood chow main dish and our daughter got scampi Thai (don't remember the exact names of the dishes) we could not keep our hand to our own dishes! We were all taking a little of eachother dish to share the yummy goodness! The beef skewers were delicious on their own accord but had a peanut sauce that was like liquid peanut butter 🤤 my chow main had every critter in the sea and I could tell it was prepped with so much care with how the squid was decoratively sliced 🤩 and the shrimp on my daughter's plate were so juicy! We've definitely added this place to our dinner date list. Thanks for reading my whole "TedTalk" about food 😅 P.s. I would have take. More photos but my phone died taking this one 🙈

Who doesn't love Thai food? Must be crazy if you don't. When I'm craving for some Thai bbq, this is the place 4 me. The place itself can use a little facelift, but the food is ALWAYS good and the staffs are great! Can't go wrong here 😉

This place is still the best for Thai bbq chicken after all these years. Came here for lunch and love their new decor, service was quick with great value for their lunch specials. We have been going to Thai-BBQ in Chino Hills for over 20 years and have always loved it! The home style cooking is always fresh and delicious and the service is superb! Chad treats us and everyone with such kindness and care! Our favorite choices are the Wings of Angel, the Pineapple House rice and Sate Beef is outstanding! We tried their Garlic Short Ribs for the first time tonight who are now a new favorite! I’m so happy we have such a gem of a spot for our family to enjoy so close!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Original Thai BBQ restaurant, in Chino Hills and it was an experience that left a lasting impression on my taste buds. The newly remodeled and inviting atmosphere immediately set the stage for what turned out to be a delightful Thai BBQ journey. Starting with the BBQ Beef skewers were so delectable, the Sweet Angel - deep fried stuffed chicken wings were a perfect crispy and flavorful delight, providing the perfect balance of textures. The Tom Yum seafood soup was a highlight, boasting a seafood blend of spices that warmed both the heart and soul. It's my favorite soup. For the main course, I opted for the Thai BBQ chicken, a classic Thai dish that exceeded expectations. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the combination of sweet, sour, and savory flavors created a dance on my palate. The combination Chow Mein with the works was another standout, rich in flavor and a must. What truly set this restaurant apart was the authenticity of the dishes. It felt like a genuine taste of Thailand, with each bite transporting me to the streets of Bangkok. The attention to detail and the use of fresh, quality ingredients were evident in every dish. The Thai beer selection was a plus and a nice touch and they also serve wine. The service was prompt and courteous, adding to the overall positive impression. The staff's knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer recommendations enhanced the dining experience. In conclusion, this Thai restaurant not only satisfied my culinary cravings but also transported me to the heart of Thailand through its authentic flavors. Whether you're a Thai cuisine enthusiast or a newcomer, this establishment is a must-visit for a truly memorable dining experience. Thanks the Original Thai BBQ Chino Hills for a delicious meal!

The community ratings of this Thai Restaurant make it a recommended eatery. It is rare to find a good Thai restaurant away from Thai Town on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles or some of the Thai Restaurants in the Rowland Heights community. So this Thai BBQ restaurant in the Chino Valley community is a good choice to avoid those long commutes.

first thai og bbq i had was in carson, ca. that was a long time ago, and how i missed eating their shrimp fried rice. for some reason, i prefer their version of shrimp fried rice compared to other thai restaurants i've been to, not too oily, not too dry either. i ordered the beef sate dinner, where it has some beef skewers, shrimp fried rice and a little salad on the side, with peanut butter sauce.. though im not a fan of dipping my beef in peanut sauce, so i asked for vinegar instead.. thats how filipinos eat their bbq beef.. on vinegar! try it! the food was really good, it didnt disapoint... one star off, was everytime we needed something, the waiter would disappear, then i'd always walk up to the counter and this other guy is always on his phone, but he makes up for it with fast service, even if he wasnt our waiter, he goes back to us really fast.

Good food. Have only tried 2 things and they are really good. Can't risk trying new things because of a fear of missing out on the beef sate. A little pricey but it's worth it

haven't visited in awhile, but stopped by for take out. the place has changed quite a bit. the food still brings back memories and I'm glad they're still here. and hope they continue, all things considered. i usually order the S8 plate, which has beef skewers over Thai rice with shrimp. the Thai iced tea and the Thai iced, simple and done well. hoping to do a date night with the wife here soon. I'll be back for sure.

We were weekly regulars for a very long time until we moved closer to San Diego. Last week, we went to visit a friends in Chino Hills and came across the restaurant again. Luckily they were open so we went in and met Chad, the owner. It was nice to see him again. Also nice to know that their menu did nor change and the taste still the same. Today we went back and my wife ordered Tai Yang Chicken Bbq and Shrimp Salad. Mine was Beef Satay House Special. Since everything was to-go, we did not check what was in the bag and took it home. When we ready to eat lunch, my wife opened the bag and we each opened oue meals. Sad to say, we are very disappointed. Our food are both charcoaled burned, the chicken wing was not recognizable, it was black! The satay were also burned and overcooked. The chocken breast was too dry and tough. The salad dressing was runny. We are very disappointed, very, very disappointed. I think we will start going to West Covina again, it will be worth it to pay for the same menu but better appetizing food.

包子&布丁

Got take out last night from this place. The manager was friendly and courteous. Even though we did not done in but the inside of the restaurant looks clean and the atmosphere was nice. However, the food only tasted OK, maybe we ordered the wrong things. We ordered the following: BBQ Chicken Special, Pad See Ew w/Beef, Garlic Pork. The BBQ Chicken Specia lcame with 1/2 chicken, shrimp fried rice (2 pc. shrimps) and a dipping sauce for the chicken. The chicken tasted really really dry, even the drumstick part was dried. The shrimp fried rice only had 2 pc. of shrimps. And probably because we asked for no onion inside the fried rice, there are no veggies in the fried rice but maybe ketchup? The Pad See Ew was a bit mushing. The beef and broccoli inside was OK. The Garlic Pork has green beans inside and tasted pretty good. The only negative thing I can say about this dish is that it's a bit oily for me. There's a layer of red color oil. I would order this dish again but will ask for less oily if possible. Overall, tried the restaurant, not very impressed but will consider dining in next time and will try other entrees.

Slow service. Our food came one by one....I think they need to straighten out their procedures in the kitchen. I want to support local establishments considering the pandemic but with a service like this... I'm going to think twice coming to this place again.

I

Unfortunately the food here is not that great. It's not bad, but it's not good... Like it tastes off. Also it came out really really fast. Like less than 5 minutes... Years of watching kitchen nightmares tells me that's not a good sign. Maybe it's not fresh or maybe it's not quality ingredients or maybe it's not prepared right. Ordered the thai chicken bbq and pad see ewe. The bbq chicken was good albeit dry. The shrimp fried rice on the other hand was not even fried rice and it contained no veggies or egg. It was just rice with about 4 shrimp. The pad see ewe taste was definitely not fresh as if it were frozen because it stuck together and clumped instead of being individual noodles. No chewiness or char to the noodles which is standard for this dish and the sauce while ok left a mild artificial aftertaste. Even the water that was brought out tasted like it needs a filter lol. Overall the food left a feeling of fullness but unsatisfying state. The place is nice and clean and the service is good and prompt. But idk. I wouldn't return again.

Came here while I was in town for work. I ordered off the menu and they were nice enough to accommodate. Service was nice. I ordered drunken noodles with shrimp. The noodles were well cooked but I was hoping for a bit more flavor. They did have a lot of table spices which I added but it wasn't really spicy which I would expect from drunk noodles or pad ki mao. The shrimp were well cooked and tender. The seating area was fine. Parking lot was huge.

Ordered take out. Not impressed with the food quality. I ordered pad see ew (mushy noodles, not much flavor), coconut soup (flavorful) and egg rolls (dry, not much flavor). Especially for the price. And it was $14 for 3 egg rolls?? I was expecting the food to be delicious. But it wasn't. IMO

The chicken was dry and the shrimp fry rice under it was sad. The two noodle dishes we ordered both had overcooked soft noodles. One lacked the soy flavor. The big missing ingredient was the wok hei. $17 for a noodle dish is not worth it here... sorry. Service was satisfactory.

We ordered a significant amount of food and paid a hefty $176. The issue is that a lot of the orders were under portioned, missing items, or lacked taste. The pineapple fried rice lacked in seasoning and barely had much pineapple in it. It was decently sized at the very least. Much prefer the one from the Thai restaurant down the street by Costco. The broccoli mushroom was in pretty much watered down oyster sauce and was MISSING MUSHROOMS. The chicken was alright, but a bit sad of a portion. The moo prik king and garlic shrimp was so dissapointing in portion size. We paid nearly $20 for each and it was such a small amount. Beef Sate (8 skewers) and Tom Kha Kai was good seasoning wise. But hard to enjoy when the rest of the food is dissapointing. Service: We ordered 40 min before closing and picked up shortly before 9pm. The pick up was straight forward, but were met with an unnecessary comment about the amount of food ordered for 3 people. Not sure what the purpose was for, but it came off as very rude. Overall, likely not coming back to this place.

The poeple and service was great (no complaint there)...however.....Let me start off by saying that the Pad see ew had a weird taste. There was no flavoring whatsoever. Almost like eating cardboard. Also ordered the chicken fried rice, it had no flavor. Very Bland taste. Lastly, for drinks I had ordered the Thai Tea. The Thai tea was awful. It had a taste of tap water with milk. I would not recommend this place. It was my first time and it did not live up to its current rating. Again the service and people were very polite and attentative but the food was not made with any effort at all. Perhaps a new cook can change all that but definitely wouldn't come here again, unfortunately.

I really hate having to write a bad review for any restaurant, I usually review places I like. This restaurant has numerous good reviews and I don't know why. I live in Asia, I'm in the area visiting family. Lunch on a Sunday, we order a beef salad and a pad Thai. Wow, not good. The beef is tough low quality and the lettuce is thick iceberg with no flavor, sauce that is almost like Thai food but watered down. The shrimp pad Thai is so sweet we cannot taste the nuts or eggs. Even the way they served it was ridiculous because they covered the sprouts with the noodles and then soaked everything in syrup. We're eating away trying to ignore the bad food (it was edible and was worthy of maybe 2 or 3 stars). Then my wife notices something wrong with the shrimp and spits it out. I think she's overreacting and I eat a shrimp, bit mistake. It tastes like I'm gnawing on a moldy wood deck. I spit it out and get nauseous, run to the toilet at puke. When I come out a manager is at the table and asks if everything is ok. I tell him no, the shrimp has gone bad. He says, well, it looks like you've eaten quite a bit of it! I had to tell him, the shrimp is spoiled, I just spent 30 minutes in the toilet throwing up and cleaning up and you're accusing me of subterfuge?! It was so strange! He offered no apology of any kind. I got overly upset and told them I was leaving and I wasn't paying, he just shrugged. I got the distinct impression that this sort of thing happens there at least once a week. If you go there, it looks like the best dish is Thai BBQ chicken and do not order the shrimp! And good luck.

Would I come back here. No. The place gets 3 to 4 stars but at the end the food we tasted gets one star, meaning the flavor was not up to par. The seafood soup is missing flavor and the pineapple fried rice had no pineapple flavor and there are no nuts in the dish, that is the way they do it here. Maybe Thai flavor but not the one I am looking for.

Ordered short ribs and garlic chicken. Short ribs were very stiff and garlic chicken was dry, basic and small portioned. 2 courses costed $45, definitely not worth it. Server was rude when I tried to tip 4$ manually and barked "PERCENTAGE!!" at me. Lady, I am not tipping you 18% to hand me 2 plates of overcooked food.

I really do not recommend this place. I ordered the beef satay platter and they didn't have it. I ordered the beef panang curry and they didn't have it. And what I ordered was terrible. Tom ka kha i soup tasted like water and lemon..had to send it back. Ordered the bbq ribs...those were cold and the rice it came with was dry. I ordered a side of peanut sauce and even that was watery! When I finished dinner, I was so upset with the service and the food that I decided not to leave a tip. The server was annoyed and he started shaking his head angrily. I will not return to this place again. That's 48 dollars to the trash. What an absolute waste. I'm taking the time to write this review so others don't have to go through what we did.
