We have an amazing time every time we visit! The food is excellent and the staff is the sweetest, kindest and most attentive! Victoria is an absolute sweetheart. This is an excellent venue for celebrations too! Well done to everyone and to the lovely manager! Best customer service ever!
Had a amazing early breakfast this morning at Cote. It was our first time but it will not our last. Out food was perfect our waitress was very attentive and sweet. One waitress saw we were being pestered by a wasp and caught the thing for us which we really appreciated. We will be back to try the dinner service. Thanks :)
Visited here, with my wife and youngest God- daughter at Cote Chislehurst for the very first time on Sunday 31/ 7/22, at 1300pm reservation. We stayed for at least 2 hours 30mins. I always believe on the principle in given a 'first time try look in, and to experience as you find' basis when visiting a restaurant - particularly for the first time. Well, my first impressions were encouraged to see an almost packed restaurant on arrival. Good parking in bays just outside the restaurant off the High Street. Also served by bus routes close by..Nos. 61,160,161,162, 273, R7, N136. I was surprised of the very spacious dining area layout inside, very clean, hygenic, airy, modern with soft lighting and decor to suit. Very comfortable seating arrangements, soft relaxing music played in the background. The atmosphere during our time seemed cheerful, a few birthday celebrations were assisted by the staff. The staff and manager I found very kind and helpful, and with good service provided by all staff. Maybe just only a tad slow in speed, but however understandable due to the very busy custom present. But, they were very polite and I enjoyed my short conversations with them...and staff occasionally consulted us and made sure if everything was to our satisfaction. The food PAR EXCELLENCE! True in French 🇫🇷 tradition.....( I recommend the Monkfish) and a reminder when my wife and I enjoyed our 25th Siver Wedding Anniversary in Paris some years back (we are now 42 years ongoing!). In fact, the restaurant brought some memories of this moment on reflection; the surroundings a reminder with some Parisian restaurants we visited. Yes, everything deserves a first chance of opportunity......I for one personally impressed. We will return of course...the standard 👏 , especially the 'CUISINE' its hallmark here, I would say....a rating A1 10/10. Thanks to the owner and staff for hosting us ...keep up the good standards and do further advance progressively. Chris.👍 Revisted with my wife on Tuesday afternoon.2/8/22. Quite and relaxing atmosphere- and a table straight away ready..unbooked! Another excellent meal and service enjoyed at the Cote French restaurant 🇫🇷, Chislehurst, Kent. Thanks Isabella (waitress ) for looking after us! Enjoyed our very brief chat on 🇵🇱 Poland...We will see you all again sometime in the future. Chris.👍
The food is great and I find your food and drink good value for money and the atmosphere is more elevated than the prices, which is nice. My main reason for visiting is however the good quality gluten-free menu that's based more on naturally gluten-free foods over using substitute gf products, as they don't suit me very well due to intolerances. I love how safe I feel eating at yours and I have a lot to choose from.
This is our local Restaurant and we been here enough to see both good and bad visits. Staff are always doing their best but at busy times the service can be rough and long wait for food. We visited on week day for lunch and booked a table in advance. We ordered the set menu, 3 courses and the food was fantastic, service was quick and the waiter was very attentive. We had crab for started, steak and chips for main and chocolate tart for dessert. Feeling full and satisfied, no long waits and no loud noises. A very different experience from events days like Mother’s Day and bank holidays.
Great dinner with my friend to catch up, food was delicious and price was very reasonable I had a starter main and desert with 3 cocktails for £70. Can’t wait to go back again, all staff were very attentive and professional
Wonderful service and food. We were treated really well, the restaurant was spacious and had a lovely atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their food and all the staff were lovely.
We went for Saturday lunch and had a lovely time The service was good and we had a lovely table for 6 people The food was excellent, we had a variety of dishes from the menu with the chicken being the star of the meal for me personally. The restaurant is looking a bit tired now and could really do with a revamp and freshen up. May thanks for a wonderful meal
What really stood out was the overall experience from start to finish. Christian and Kia were attentive and welcoming, the service was smooth, and the food was genuinely amazing. The set menu offered excellent value for money, and the manager was also very helpful throughout our visit. We would definitely recommend Côte and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Delicious breakfast at Cote today, cappuccino with oat milk and French toast. Friendly staff as always. Please 🙏 sort out your wifi !
Fantastic atmosphere. All of the waiters and waitresses were super friendly and a credit to Côte. The food was delicious and well presented. It’s nice to have a well presented local restaurant.
It is a beautiful French restaurant with a lovely and rich menu. Relaxing environment.
Lovely service that was friendly and polite. Delicious food as always you really cannot go wrong with Côte it always delivers.
We enjoyed a lovely meal here although the service was a bit slow. Delicious mushroom vol au vent and tasty fish stew.
Cotes never fails to disappoint. Lovely food and the breakfast is such good value for money. Had the pork and was cooked perfectly. Lovely staff.
A few years ago I visited this location and had not a great experience however the staff were very good in putting things right which encouraged me to return. I had a booking on Sunday and it was soooo lovely. We were served by Victoria and she was the sweetest person ever. So attentive and patient and also gave an amazing wine recommendation which was fab. Would 100% return. The roast was unreal and all round service was fabulous.
Cote exceeded all our expectations! We’re so glad we gave this chain another chance because everything was absolutely top-notch this time. A wonderful kitchen, where every dish is a perfect harmony of flavors, complemented by impeccable service. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the calamari was tender, the sauces were exquisite, and the wine selection was impressive. But what truly stood out was the service—attentive, professional, and genuinely warm, making our evening even more enjoyable. An extra highlight was the staff’s kindness. Not only were they incredibly welcoming to us, but they were also exceptionally sweet and attentive to our little daughter, making the whole experience even more special and comfortable. This was a true gastronomic delight, leaving us with only the best impressions. We’re happy we rediscovered Cote!♥️
Breakfast with welcoming smiles at Cote Chislehurst, an enjoyable way to start our Sunday. Coffee excellent, staff attentive, setting a friendly, yet professional standard. We love the french toast with fruit! Thankyou to all.
Wonderful brunch and lovely staff who made our little girl feel very welcome 😊
The food is fantastic as always. We were there at lunchtime today and really enjoyed our meals. Did was prepared at a reasonable pace. The tables for two are four are placed pretty close to each other so some may find that it does lack a bit of privacy. The only criticism is there were tables available in other parts of the restaurant where it less busy. So, we could have had more privacy if they did give us another table on the other side. There is paid parking available on the High Street. You can pay using the Ringo app. That's pretty useful if you need to extend your parking session (if you decide to stay for dessert, which we did. 😀)
We usually come to Cote for their lunch and this is the first time we try their dinner. Overall the food looks and taste good with very friend waiters. Wait for the food was a bit "not short" maybe because of the holiday season. Their set dinner menu was well worth the money. The mussels are way better than Belgo`s but the chicken was a tat more salty than I prefer. Anyone looking for a great dinner place around Chistlehurst should try this place.
The waiter service was non attentive and came over uninterested. The amount of bread provided with the cheeseboard was pathetic. We order some additional bread to try to enjoy the remaining cheese and only 5 tiny slices arrived.
Our first time here for breakfast and was impressed with the variety on the menu, especially for children and with the quality of food. It was all brought out quickly and looked delicious, the only issue was the bacon was over done on a children's breakfast. It was changed quickly but was disappointing to receive it burnt like that. It was overall a really nice experience to be able to have a family breakfast in such a warm & calm atmosphere. Would definitely come back to try lunch or dinner.
We visited for an early dinner and was pleasantly surprised has there was only one small problem which was dealt with straight away with out any fuss. Service was good food very good, unlike Cote Blackheath. Just a bit of background music would have been nice
Visited on a Sunday and asked the front host if they were offering veggie roasts as the menu outside was quite ambiguous- we were advised that they were. After being seated and purveying the menu we were advised there were no veggie roasts by our server. Disappointed but we both ordered the vegan burger and fries, which were very good. Venue is big and was mostly empty but all parties were seated very close together which meant there was a lot of noise from nearby children and larger parties. I could smell the body odour of a gentleman seated nearby which was quite offputting while I was eating. Food was tasty but they need more choice for vegans and vegetarians. Also I had to swap out cutlery from a nearby table as my fork was dirty.
Probably Mothering Sunday is not the best day to judge a restaurant, but that was the day we chose. We were seated quickly and waited upon almost at once. Unfortunately, when we came to make our food choices, we were then given a long list of items which had run out. Even then, having ordered, I had to change my starter again as that had now run out. The food (from the limited selection) was well cooked and presented and reasonably quickly provided. However, we had to issue a reminder for one starter and it took several requests before the tap water arrived. The staff (with one exception) were friendly and attentive after what had obviously been a busy day. I know we were among the last guests (we couldn’t come any earlier because it was fully booked) but numbers had been known in advance and to run out of three of the four fixed price menu starters (and about half of the full menu’s) was evidence of poor planning or an over-zealous effort to cut costs. The range of main dishes was also badly affected. Happily the wine was very drinkable. I would like to have given four stars but being seated next to the draughty door (up the many steep stairs) to the toilet did not add to our comfort and the menu chaos was a severe damper on our expectations.
The food was quite average, and when I was there, the seafood pasta’s mussels seemed like it wasn’t fresh or something, and the pasta itself was flavourless and it was probably the pasta that couldn’t absorb the flavour. The steak was quite small, the sauce wasn’t attractive but unlike other restaurants, they actually cooked it how I wanted It to be, unlike some other ones where you just get it a bit too raw or over cooked. Food is quite overpriced. The service was quite nice and I actually got a refund for the pasta. I do not recommend the seafood pasta, and the £30 10oz steak. I do recommend the calamari started. It had quite a good batter and wasn’t too salty.
Not up to standard of other Cōtes: décor more like a diner in some areas, staff friendly but completely unacceptable wait for mains with no apology. Table not cleared properly. Hard to get staff attention despite the fact it wasn't busy (Wednesday). Booking app asked if it was a special occasion (yes, anniversary) but no mention of this/ little extras. So why ask? Food nice but won't be coming back. Edit following reply: how would that conversation go? 'Please ask your staff to clear everything from the table more promptly? Can you ask if we need more drinks? Do we have an anniversary treat?!' It's embarrassing, sours the atmosphere further, and isn't my job to train your staff. Hence the review. I certainly give direct feedback when something can be remedied on the spot, but in this case it wasn't realistic or appropriate. Hopefully you do action things rather than just worry about ratings.
Lovely location. Food is good value and service excellent. Recommended. Update- Disappointed on this occasion. We came for lunch. Long wait for the main courses. The steaks were extremely salty, and was not informed which was medium and medium rare. Service was mediocre as staff seemed busy arguing or paying attention only to 1 or 2 tables.
To be honest I think this will be my last time visiting this restaurant. The food is adequate for the price, but have been here 3 times and tbh the service really lets it down. This time we had to get up 3 times to ask for drinks, the dessert menu and then the bill. At this price point that is simply unacceptable. While some staff are ok, most give the impression that they don't care and that you are an inconvenience. That's it for us and Cote I'm afraid. Will not be returning.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this visit to the restaurant. I was invited by a group of friends who used to like this place. Sadly, they were also let down. Today we were “lucky” enough to try their new menu. For four people it came to £150. The price was fair, but the food was completely bland. The meat was overcooked and tasteless. The only thing we enjoyed was the potted crab from the starters. On top of that, there was an odd, unpleasant smell in the dining area, almost like sewage. I hope they reconsider their changes and improve the way the place is run.
Went here on 1st September Few things are so bad 1. Smell of urine coming from toilets (ladies) and backed up drains don't sit near back of restaurant 2 staff lack any enthusiam whatever so ever . 3. Food is generally lackluster This is for dinner here, we went before for breakfast and thought was really good To be honest this is maybe just sign of times, chain places, that frankly other than a semi fancy name or presentation are fast becoming comparable to over priced fast food joints. Shame
First and last time here. French toast was expecting to be looking as in the pics. Creme fresh and fruits came later, bacon was really small. Overall disappointing and not impressed at all.
Changes to the menu were not explained at any point, we discovered it ourselves while eating. When I questioned it, there was no apology or grace and they seemed surprised at my suggestion that they should tell people at the outset so that they can make informed decisions. There were so many waiters, but they were all hiding round the corner and doing the bare minimum. A disappointing experience.
The toilets were dirty. Stale bread, microwaved food. Service was impersonal, it felt like we were annoying them.
Booked a table for last Saturday for my birthday celebrations to enjoy a lovely evening with friends. It was such a disappointing experience. We arrived to be given a table completely removed from the main seating area and devoid of any atmosphere. The service was poor, slow we had to repeatedly ask for things we had ordered that never arrived as they were just forgotten. At one point I think it was a manager who came to us to give us coffees we had ordered she was rude and very unfriendly . I certainly will not rush back and I am sure nor will any of the party I was with . I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I recently visited this restaurant with my family and friends for big birthday party and had a mixed experience. The food was absolutely fantastic well prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our waitress was exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service that enhanced the dining experience. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the manager. She seemed inexperienced and lacked a clear understanding of her role. Her attitude and handling of certain situations left a lot to be desired, which put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable evening. id recommend this place for the great food and wonderful waitstaff, but the management needs serious improvement to ensure a smoother experience for customers unfortunately..
My wife and I booked a table at Cote Chislehurst for New Year’s Eve, expecting a festive and enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, our experience was far from it. We were seated promptly around 7:15 PM and served drinks, but things quickly went downhill. Over an hour later, we were still waiting for our food. After voicing our concerns to the manageress, she apologized and offered us a bottle of wine as compensation, assuring us the food would arrive soon. However, another 45 minutes passed with no sign of either the food or the promised wine. By then, our patience had worn thin, and we made the decision to leave and find somewhere else to salvage our evening. The service was abysmal, and the lack of communication or follow-through from the staff made the experience even worse. We left Cote disappointed and frustrated. Needless to say, we won’t be returning. Rating: 1/5
My family and I ate here last night and it was one of the worst meals I've had in London in a long time. On the positive side, the staff were friendly, the desserts were tasty, and at the end of the meal the manager (unprompted) refunded one of the mains, but the main course steak frites we had were tiny, overcooked and unattractive. My daughter immediately noticed her chicken was tough, lukewarm and had a skin on the sauce. I wish I'd taken more photos but this one of the side salad with my steak hopefully sums it up.
Really disappointed with our recent visit to Cote Brasserie Chislehurst. This used to be our go-to spot for a reliable meal at any time of day, with attentive and welcoming service. Sadly, this time it felt completely different. The manager 8n charge appeared to be trying to frolic with the poor waitress. It was unprofessional and embarrassing to watch while we waited for our food. The service was scruffy and inattentive, and the food felt rushed and slapdash rather than the consistent quality we’d come to expect. It’s such a shame to see standards slip at what was once a dependable favourite.
Come here if you enjoy being spoken down to as soon as you arrive. When we arrived at 8.15 the lights were on and other customers were eating. As soon as we steps inside we were turned away very rudely by the waiter who said they close at 8pm. We were spoken to in a disgusting manor and basically berated for not knowing. You should update your business hours and not have staff verbally put down customers for just coming in (maybe teach your staff to turn away people politely)
They close at 8pm. Walked past at 8:15, lights on and only a few people in the restaurant. Immediately had a very rude male waiter turn us away. Very snobby and offered no apologies. He spoke to us harshly as if we should know when their operating hours are, despite them being incorrect online. Go elsewhere unless you like being spoken to like dirt.
Oh dear, used to be ok in here. Half the restaurant not in use, on a Saturday night, so had to eat in a draughty corridor bit. Food was just dreadful. The cheese soufflé starter is now a Camembert soufflé. Asked waitress about where the Camembert featured she explained to me what a soufflé was 🤣 and said it had Camembert in it. It was obviously frozen, overcooked and sort of spongy. The onion sauce was, I think, just single cream. The sea bream came well done, dry and overcooked with raw quartered tomatoes and some sliced olives from a jar on a bed of leathery warmed up sautee potatoes. Inedible, sent it back. Spinach was smothered in pine nuts for some reason. Service was indifferent. We won’t be back.
I did not taste the food. I walked out due to unpleasant welcoming, seat offering and noone coming to even ask for water - Worst experience of my life in this restaurant. Manager was humble and offered us options but the staff overall did all the damage. They are not experienced enough to welcome diversity.
Attempted to book in advance to come here with some friends and their babies . Told on the phone that the baby buggy’s would be in the way. Really disappointing attitude and as a result will no longer consider this restaurant as somewhere to come with my family or friends.
