I should have left this review two months ago when my wife took me here. Tonight will be my 6th visit. The best Thai I have ever had. Their curries are amazing. All of them. The samui curry is out of this world. And if your a salad person like me, the fresh spring rolls are as good as. Or better.
Food is so good. We loved every dish. The duck was super tasty and the sauce savory. The pork larb was spicy but kept me coming back for another bite. I would rate this as my favorite Thai place south of the 8
Love this place it’s very small but definitely a great place to enjoy dinner with your spouse! Food here is pretty good! I’ve ordered many different items off the menu and I’ve never had a bad experience with spice or curry! Whoever is back there cooking the dishes up knows what they are doing! I really enjoy eating here. Definitely recommend
Phenomenal spot! Had minimal expectations walking in, but was quickly impressed. Zero wait at 5 on a Saturday, service was quick and excellent. Had a duck curry, so much umami and just the perfect amount of spice. Serving sizes we're good, and prices are fair. We will be coming back, maybe tomorrow...
A delightful, cozy restaurant with a large menu with many vegetarian/vegan choices as well as the traditional beef, chicken, duck etc. Generous portions each enough for 2 people! Very reasonable prices. Overall a delight. The mango chicken is a favorite but you won't go wrong with any of the many dishes.
Food is always fresh and delicious. Drunken noodles, Tom Yum with Shrimp and Eggplant are our favorites
Food is served family style. Fast out of the kitchen and reasonably priced. The drunken noodles here are amazing. Chicken fried rice is very good as well. Don't get a soft drink here though, It's just a can of soda for like $2.
Excellent service! The Papaya Salad was a nice start to our dinner. It was spicy at a 5 out of 10 spicy rating. The Mango Chicken was recommended by our server, Kako, and we loved the flavor! The Garlic Spareribs were tender and juicy. The Larb was a dish with finely chopped chicken with mild spices, served on a bed of lettuce and a few slices of cucumber. Can’t wait to return and try other dishes. 10/18/23: Tonight, we’re trying the Thai Sesame Chicken and Ginger Salmon. The Thai Sesame Chicken had a sweeter flavor with the soy sauce. ITV was paired with broccoli crowns. I liken it to the Japanese style Shoyu Chicken in Hawai’i. The Ginger Salmon had a tartare flavor with a little sweetness to it. The salmon filet sat under a bed of sliced carrots, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms. GinaBee and I enjoyed both dishes. ****************************** 1/27/24 Tonight, I was hungry for something good cooked in with ginger. I dejected the ginger chicken. It came with carrots, Cellery and other veggies in a ginger sauce. It was delicious. My wife chose fried rice and shrimp. It was fantastic with mushrooms. For dessert, we enjoyed the fried bananas with three scoops of coconut ice cream. Excellent service.
Spicy noodles are fire, drunken noodles are great too. I also tried the mango orange chicken and it was bussin. Edit: Back a year later, at this point I have tried so many things on the menu. THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB! The staff are wonderful and always friendly. Would recommend this place to literally anyone. Satay Chicken will blow your mind too.
This place had great spicy chicken noodles, the heat was good i got a level 9 next time I will kick it up to 10 though. The place was clean and quite, service was good, parking was easy. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.
This Is Food Is Really Delicious As A First Timer Eating Thai Food Was A Pleasant Experience. The Atomphere Was Very Warm & Inviting. Service Outstanding. Bravo, Bravo, I Will Return.
We like this place, their food is pretty good with great taste and enough for one person or share for two. I'll recommend their fried rice of any kind.
I go here all the time, usually for take-out, but I love it. The people are awesome there and I always get great service. The Mango Orange Chicken is to die for and so is just about every other item on the menu...my three year old loves the satay chicken.
Our family's Go-To restaurant for amazing Thai food! My mother's from Hawaii, and if you know.....there's a lot of legit Thai restaurants on Oahu. When my mom comes to visit us, she will ask to go to Bamboo Garden every visit. Prices are spit on fir really good Thai food. Our favorites are Mango Orange Chicken, Tom Yum soup (semi spicy option), Hawaiian Fried Rice, egg rolls, and Panang Curry. You won't be disappointed!
January, 2023. Finally found an affordable and delicious Thai food restaurant! This place is awesome. Parking is no problem, the staff are nice, the place is clean, and the food is awesome! I would say the prices for all the food are lower than average. The portions are huge too! I will be visiting this place again. Paid $29 for spicy noodles, chicken pad Thai noodles, and drinks. Very happy with my experience here. Update: April 8, 2023. I am convinced that this is the BEST Thai food restaurant in the area. The Jungles Curry blew my mind away. It was delicious! I've never had anything better. The bamboo shoots added a small crunch and the egg plant melted in my mouth like butter. The jasmine rice was perfectly cooked too. The mango with rice dessert and the golden fried banana with ice-cream dessert are a must! The customer service is impeccable too. Nothing but super kind, attentive, and hard working staff. I like the overall ambiance of the restaurant as well. Of course, it is always very clean. 100% recommend coming here, you won't regret it!
Of all the Thai restaurants I've been to, this place's mango sticky rice is my favorite. I always leave space for it. The food is also delicious. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. It's a nice lunch date place.
Everything was Flavorful, tried the Tom Yum Soup, musan curry, crab fried rice, mango and shrimp curry! Came with jasmine steamed white rice. Service was quick, food came out within 15 mins. Restaurant was clean with decorative trimmings with Thailand influence
I am here at Bamboo Garden Thai Cuisine, enjoying lunch. Today I ordered A Tomkha Soup, it has coconut milk base soup with mushrooms, galangal, cilantro, & lime juice. Choice of seafood combination. It is very deliciously tasty. I also ordered Pad Thai, it consists of stir-fried egg noodles in tamarind sauce with egg, green onions and bean sprouts, crushed peanuts. It is my first time tasting this meal courses & I am happily satisfied. Thank you Nick for taking my meal order you are very generous and humble. Thank you to all the staff in the kitchen as well for preparing the meals. Thank you so much & God Bless!
Went to lunch with a friend never really tried Thai food honestly I'm not sure if I really like it but the service was awesome next time I will try the fried rice maybe I like that better I had the Thai noodles

We love this spot! Delicious food, reasonable prices, and great service. It is one of the few restaurants in Otay where we never leave disappointed. A heads up, their pho soup has a thai twist to it that is so tasty!
For a combination of great food & affordable for a sit down place, this is it. Food was delicious. All their curry dishes are authentic recipes with layered flavors. Will come back.
Large menu with quick service & all four items orders were excellent & authentic.
Our go-to spot for healthy Thai food! We love ordering the tom yum soup with chicken or pork, the garden delight with chicken, and BBQ chicken. Their pineapple fried rice, pad see ewe, and sticky mango rice (dessert) are equally delicious! Seating is decent inside. Sometimes too quiet (no music playing). No patio seating. Restrooms located in community building (ask for key). Servers are always nice and one allowed us once to dine-in 5 minutes after kitchen's last call. There are always people walking up to register for take-out too.

The food was good and above average. The service was fast and friendly. Many vegan choices- be sure to tell the server your limitations. My woon sen noodles were good however a bit more oil than I prefer.
This place looks like a typical Asian food tiny restaurant. The food is good and the portions are fair. They are a sit down place but you can call your order in and it'll seriously be ready in 10 min! The food is pretty tasty. I always order the sweet basil with beef which I totally recommend!
I like the place, the food is great and the ambience is nice, the only thing is that sometimes there's a few flies flying around and it just becomes a nuisance. If they had ceiling fans or fans in general, that would definitely get rid of the flies.
The food was very authentic and the atmosphere was very friendly. This was the best thai food place in town. The pad thai had a perfect combination of ingredients and flavor. For people who are allergic to peanuts, ask them specifically to leave them out. The tomsum soup had a rich combination of lime and coconut flavor. The papaya salad was delicious, only time i had better was at a thai temple in LA or the cambodian temple in San Diego. The spicy catfish was original. Deep fried breaded catfish in a curry paste sauce. Although rich in flavor, it was a little salty. The staffs were friendly and there seemed to be many regular customers. The setup was unique and clean. Like i said, to me, this was the best thai restaurant in the local area. Only reason i had to remove a star was because of the temperature inside. When i went on a hot day, there was no AC turned on. Recently, i went on a cold night, the doors were opened and it was very cold. The restaurant didnt realize it was cold until someone asked to close the door. I highly recommend this place and would raise it to a five star if the temperature is comfortable the next time i visit.
Nice, clean, small restaurant in Chula Vista's Otay Ranch area. The woman behind the counter/waiting tables was friendly and helpful. I had the spicy noodles and larb salad and both were good. However... I asked for an 8 out of 10 on the spicy scale and I felt it was more like a 4. I guess it's better to err that way than to have it too hot. Maybe next time I'll ask for a 10.

This place was great! We were a little nervous to try a new place in hoping we liked the food but it was really good. The portions are a little small but very tasty 😋. My 12 year old son can be picky, he ended up loving the garlic spare ribs!!!

Perhaps we tempered our ordering too much but the dining experience was a bit run of the mill. Based on the reviews of others, expected something a bit more notable. Pleasant room and staff and we'll likely gove it another chance.
Would have been a nice experience, wide array of delicious food. Lost my appetite though because the server a.k.a cashier, was not friendly at all. She doesn't smile, gives monosyllabic answers and gives of this "I hate my job, not happy at all to be here" vibe. Whoever owns this restaurant should re-orient this lady and remind her to at least try to smile. Oh, and she coveniently placed the Menu folder right on top of my plate and utensils.
I heard that the workers here are Chinese so not sure if it's owned by Thai people are not. Based on their pad Thai recipe it was not authentic. I can see why people would still enjoy their food if they never grew up eating real Thai food... This is the first time I had it with thin pho noodles. The cuts of meats were not uniformly chopped up and was chewy. It looked and tasted like it was precooked. The flavors were too tart and the noodles were soggy plus the sauce was watery. Noodles easily broke apart. I asked for a level 6 spicy and it was not even a level 1. It even smelled like lemons. The flavor was okay but I wouldn't call it pad Thai. The fried rice was also soggy and bland. This is more like Asian fusion food but they tried I guess.
Food is decent. I don’t regret having tried this restaurant. It’s close and convenient. However, theree is room for improvement: 1. When customers call to place an order, ask them for the level of spicy. I usually mention when I order Thai food but I was driving and I forgot to bring it up. Restaurant should ask. 2. Sticky mango rice was very dry. 3. This restaurant needs some love and some cleaning. There was a hand sanitizer bottle taped to a booth. Looked very messy. 4. Finally, the young lady working the front was leaving all the signed credit card receipts from past customers at the front table. I don’t think that’s professional. Also, then pens to sign those credit card receipts are not being sanitized.
Very pleasant place, close to the medical center, nice atmosphere, OK service. The food was passable 3/5. The spring rolls were kind of bland and very loosely packed, the Pad Thai noodles appeared to be overcooked angle hair pasta swimming in a sickly sweet red sauce. The rest of the meal was otherwise OK. I likely would not go back to this resteraunt.
Pros: nice service, really good egg roll appetizer with sauce Cons: glass goblets and paper plates and plastic forks? The flavors aren't as developed as other Thai restaurants we frequent. It's sad, I'm not even looking forward to eating my leftovers, which is usually such a fun thing about eating Thai food. Another thing is there is no bathroom.
Order pickup. Got the Pad Thai. It was a good amount for the price

I love the food here. From other reviews it seems as though some believe that they serve vegan options. I am not a vegan but I have vegan relatives and when I saw mock proteins on the menu I called to ask which dishes were suitable for vegans. The person I spoke to shared that all of the sauces have fish sauce in it and therefore none of the dishes could be made vegan. I’ve since asked again in person and was given a similar explanation. Just wanted to share my experience with this since I know that could be upsetting to those who follow a vegetarian/vegan diet. If this is no longer the case, please do share!

The food is pretty decente; however, the four times I've come for lunch there is only one staff covering the entire front of the restaurant. This very young woman takes your order, waits on you, works the register for pick up orders, and buses tables. If you come when there are more than four parties, the wait can be looong.
I went here with a friend to try Thai food for the first time. It was a little over $20 for an order of duck Pad Thai after tax and tip. For $20, I would have expected the serving to be more substantial. The food itself was alright except for the duck, because a lot of the pieces had excess cartilage. On the upside, the restaurant was super clean and the staff was nice.
Do not order pad thai shrimp and beef. I took my boyfriend there to experience Thai food for the first time and the pad Thai only had 3 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of beef. He was like that was ok 😕 I won’t be cooking back here for pad Thai.
I got a to-go order of Chicken Larb. Way too salty and wasn’t at all spicy for level 7/10. Won’t be back.

I walked in there to check it out and the person at the front desk didn’t treat me like she wanted my business. I stayed for some time and sat down to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was because she was busy. She didn’t offer water or said anything. It was not that busy. I waited and didn’t even get acknowledged. I got up, gave back the menu I had grabbed myself, and said thank you and left. I am very disappointed with the customer service. To be fair I did not try the food. Will not be returning since they treat new customers like they do not matter.
used to be a good place to go have thai food but the service changed. sometimes they only open for take out so its a guessing game whether theyre gonna accommodate you or not in the restaurant.
I was craving for Thai food, and so we went on Mother’s Day. We were one of the three groups that came right when they open, We were showed to a table of five, and was given the menu right away. It did not take long for us to place our order. And so we waited. After, I believe about 25 or 30 minutes our appetizers was served, so in a blink of an eye appetizer’s gone because we were all starving. And so we waited for the main course. 45 minutes passed, no food was being served in our table, but they were serving food to people that came later than us. In fact one group already finished eating and left. My husband was already irritated and wanted to say something, but my son was calming him. After an hour and fifteen, my son stood up and told them we were leaving. The order taker, I believe he’s the son of the owner, went to the kitchen then came back, and said it’s ok for us to leave, and did not even ask for an apology. I supposed they haven’t even started to make our order. So we paid for the appetizers that we ordered and left. What an awful experience we had at the Bamboo Garden Thai Cuisine. We were not able to eat, so I cannot answer the questions below.
I know their food is so delicious but I had a very awful situation and This happen last night to me. They are so neglect. My husband order red curry duck. One spicy 🌶 and the other one “NO” spicy, (0) When I ate one bite I noticed is spicy then I feel reaction as my throat kind of close, shortness of breathing, immediately I drink one glass of milk and go outside for a walk… if you are allergic something don’t believe however they put in the Tupperware. If you have somebody test for you that is good.

Online it is showing they close at 9:30 so we went in at 8:30 hoping to get seated. But the person at front desk told us that they are only doing pickups as restaurant is closing at 9. I would have used my time wisely if I was aware about this before. Timings online are not correct and restaurant should take care of it.
