Absolutely outstanding sushi spot! The salmon and tuna were incredibly fresh and flavorful, truly top quality. The local craft beer selection was also excellent. You genuinely feel transported to Japan with every bite. The service was amazing thanks to Oscar, Lorena, Fonsi, and Sonia. They made the whole experience even better. This place is a must-visit for sushi lovers. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have been having trouble finding a good sushi place with fresh seafood, where you can sit at the sushi bar. Before the pandemic this was easier. We found IKA and it's now our favorite, right in our own neighborhood. You don't need to leave Chula Vista for good food and good service. We've been a few times and they recognized us the 2nd time we came in. My hubby has that affect on people and I'm not kidding. The sushi is so fresh and tasty. The sushi chef's are fun to interact with. The atmosphere is nice. The parking is good. I brought one of my coworkers here yesterday and I ordered the teriyaki chicken (photo attached). It was wonderful. Like no other I've tried. Not too sweet, loads of fresh veggies, large serving. Enough for two. This will be a go to restaurant for us.

Absolutely loved our experience here! The jalapeño poppers were perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor inside — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The fried rice was also a standout. But what truly made the night special was the exceptional service from Orlando. He was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down. He really elevated the entire meal. We’ll definitely be back soon!

She offered great recommendations (the spicy tuna roll was a hit!), and made sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed.Jennifer’s warm personality and excellent customer service truly stood out. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with such a genuine and kind attitude. Ika Sushi is lucky to have her — I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be asking for Jennifer again!

I can tell they’ve made some changes recently, and service has seemed to improve. The sushi chefs are great and rolls are absolutely delicious. Kinda surprised it’s so good for a neighborhood sushi restaurant. It’s becoming my go to for sushi in San Diego. Try the Otoro!

Great place, The sushi and ramen bowls are great the rolls have the perfect amount of variation that everyone in my family gets their preferred options with fresh ingredients. I enjoy relaxing at this restaurant and they are so quick plus there is plenty of parking. The staff is considerate and helpful with great attitudes. Nice enough for a date night, and relaxed enough to bring my youngest kiddos.

We arrived at the restaurant at 4:20 pm and we were very hungry. By the time you enter the restaurant, you’ll be feeling a breeze of fresh air. The waitress was very kind and fast at placing us on a table. When we finished reading the menu we started with an appetizer of salted edamame. The texture was very smooth and salty. It was the perfect combination. Then we ordered our drinks and I chose Diet Coke. After that we started to order our sushi rolls. By the time our food arrives, we’ll be enjoying our dinner. I ordered spicy tuna, which was delicious. The combination of the fresh tuna with the spicy sauce was pure perfection. I definitely recommend it. We also ordered seared tuna carpaccio at the end. After enjoying our dinner we ended up very satisfied with our meals. The vibes of the restaurant were amazing, they had good music. In conclusion, I would say that everyone should definitely go and try this sushi restaurant.

Monkey balls are a must have 4.5/5. The Spicy chicken bowl 4.5/5 flavor was amazing, I would not complain about a few more veggies. The deep fried something roll was worth ordering again the server recommended it 5/5. The service 5.

They good is flavorful and fresh A on the various options that I have ordered. The service is good, but they need to develop more attention to detail B.

I ordered the sexy roll and mix tempura for takeout. I arrived a few minutes earlier than i was told it would be ready and it was ready to go. The tempura was cold and a little soggy, not crisp at all. The sushi was supposed to have crispy tempura on top but it was so soggy and stale tasting I couldnt eat it. It was gross. I scraped it all off so I could eat the rest. So disappointed. Usually the food is excellent. Update: A manager contacted me about my order and apologized for the service and refunded the cost. I will definitely go back again as the quality is usually excellent. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I ordered the sexy roll and mix tempura for takeout. I arrived a few minutes earlier than i was told it would be ready and it was ready to go. I feel bad having to write this because the food was really good but the service needs some serious help.Our waiter only came to take our order and never came back.Had to flag down someone to bring a refill even after trying to get her attention.We then saw her leaning against the wall talking to another worker.Even to get the check it was an issue.Bill said Sofia v was our server not even sure as she never introduced herself.Left a tip out of decency but received no type of service and a overall bad experience besides the food.

If there was an Olympic event for bad customer service, she'd be bringing home the gold. Expect bad food, worse service, and a plethora of excuses served cold. Dining here isn’t just a meal; it’s an exercise in patience and lowered expectations. Bon appétit—if you dare. The owner contacted me and does want to do better. I do appreciate their efforts, as it was a terrible experience. I ordered pick up and then called ahead to ask when it might be done for timing. They told me ten to fifteen more minutes. I arrived 25 minutes in case it was not ready. The hostess then helped another pick up and promptly provided them their food within five minutes. I figured mine was in the works, I was wrong. After waiting another ten minutes, I asked for an ETA. The hostess then said they would look into it. Then came back to say it would be ten more minutes. I waited another 20 minutes before inquiring again, only to be told 10 more minutes. Another pick up who ordered at the hostess ten minutes after me, came and got their food. All in all, I waited at the hostess stand for an hour, which was in addition to the 30 minutes before coming down. I thought, oh maybe they forgot my order and had to remake it. Nope. Rice--cold, gyoza--cold, tempura sushi--cold. All the while the hostess ignored me and would not even make eye contact or talk to me about the issues. She ignored me to talk to friends outside the store instead. Real nice.
