Opinions de Khanya Ramen & Sushi Chula Vista
We’ve been coming to this restaurant for three years as our go-to date spot, and we always order the regular tonkotsu, tempura calamari, Shrimp Killer, and kimchi. I honestly have no words to describe how delicious every single dish is. Lera always makes sure the food is served on time, beautifully presented, and at the perfect temperature — I truly love the way she cooks. Today we visited again, and Jay, as always, was very attentive. He recognized us and let us know the place was full, asking us to wait a few minutes. The service from Jay, André, and Majo was amazing, just like always. They are a great team, and we highly recommend this place. Thank you!
Excellent Japanese food in San Diego. Great service. The Tempura was really good. Crunchy with the right amount of softness inside while not being chewy. Ramen was pretty good as well. It could use some more heat as the ramen wasn’t boiling hot just how I like it. We came here hoping to charge for free on a destination charger but it was full. But to our surprise, the food was excellent.
Just came in today for dinner since it was raining and this hit the spot! Not too many people maybe because of the rain. We were seated right away, friendly staff. We ordered the karaage chicken, premium khanya tonkatsu and tonkatsu regular. The karaage was good, nice and crispy. We had to ask for more sauce though cause we were gonna definitely need more. Both ramen were good, with thin noodles, large in size and we had to take the rest home. Tons of toppings. The broth was thick and oily. If we don't feel like driving all the way to convoy, this is a good spot!
Came here on 3/2/24 around 7pm ishh with a big party and I don’t even know how the waiter did it but he got everything on point. When you come in with tons of people everyone attempts to talk at the same time but he literally got every single thing down. Despite having all of us, we didn’t wait that much to get the food or appetizers. The food really surprised me. I don’t like fish but they do offer other options. My party literally ordered almost every single thing from the menu and we ate it all lol . That’s how good it was . I’ve been to different location that Offer either similar or the same menu but the difference is how they prep it . And leme tell you!! It was really unique to me . I highly recommend the french fries. (I know ur typical french fries) but the flavor is amazing . Also with the chicken. Honestly just try everything lol We payed a little over $400 . But like I said I did go with a big party lol
The food was super yummyyyyy!!! And not too expensive. Very reasonably priced. 100% recommended
Best ramen in the area! We come here whenever we miss Japan ramen. My daughter loves the shoyu ramen, she can finish the whole bowl and she’s a picky eater, so we keep coming back! One suggestion is play more relaxing type of music instead of upbeat. Other than that, this is our go-to ramen place in Eastlake area.
It's been our go-to-place for sushi in East Lake for the past few months. It has a mellow but chilled atmosphere with great customer service by Jay and his crew and man, Aquino, the chef runs the kitchen literally like a master! Definitely going back for Saporo and fresh spicy tuna rolls or the Hawaiian with fresh lemon slices on top! A hidden, must try gem in East Lake!
This Ramen was delicious! It’s a big bowl so you get super full! I was so full but it was so good that I kept eating lol our server was a female and she was so sweet and always made sure we were ok with our food and drinks. The atmosphere was very calming and comfortable. I will be stopping here every time I visit Chula Vista!
Phenomenal! Believe it! All joking aside, every time I go there, I have to order the premium tonkotsu. Not only is it amazing, it always hits the spot. I'm thinking about returning soon

The ramen is actually not bad, but lacking a little authenticity in terms of the noodles - Soup became starchy after a while. And many ingredients were cold (nenma, corn etc.) making some parts of the broth cooler which is weird. But there's a lot of ingredients which I really liked. Staff were good and helpful. Service time was good although would have been slower on a crowded day. Thanks for the good meal.

One reason why I love their ramen is because it has vegetables, and not all ramen restaurants includes vegetables. I had the reguakr ramen but ask for extra bena sproud. The restaurant atmosphere look more like a bar / cook hangout spot. If you go therr during lunch is dead, which is perfect because then you get extra faster service. The waitress was kind n gave me good service. Their ramen noodles are thinner than average.
Came about 2 hours before closing on a Saturday and the atmosphere was very chill. Brought my appetite and the food didn’t disappoint—generous portions and excellent service! Hit the spot. Fair prices too!

The Broth used forbthe Ramen could use an improvement, but let me tell you about their customer service, EXCEPTIONAL! 🙌🙏☝️👩🍳 Greeted us as soon as we walked in. The waiter was very knowledgeable when i asked what he can recommend for us since its our first time at their restaurant, didnt give us an attitude. It was an enjoyable experience eating Ramen at this place because you will feel like a family and they treat you with respect. 🙌🙏 Their sushi are delicious as well .
This place has good Ramen. Sushi takes them a while to make even something as simple as a California Roll (keep in mind when ordering specially if you order for kids). Bathroom are clean. No kid drinks (like apple juice) or kids menu available. Table was a bit sticky.
Very nice, chill environment and service was friendly. Tonkotsu ramen was okay. Chashu was a bit rough and broth was not the greatest tasting. Noodles weren't that firm. I would not recommend this place for the ramen.

I read the reviews before arriving and I would say they're pretty true to my experience. The food was all right, the customer service was great! My waiter was very helpful in helping me decide what to pick I've never been here before. The broth was incredible on the ramen. in total I spent less than $40.
Arrived around 7pm to Khanya Ramen and Sushi, so the place was about half full and thinning from the dinner business. The first two tables we sat at were still sticky from the previous meal, so we asked the hostess to wipe down a table for us. Khanya has a great menu, full of variety. The food overall was good; two bowls of ramen, side calamari and a side tuna hand roll . I would recommend Khanya to a friend, but the restaurant seemed dirty after the first two tables being sticky and several tables went without a busser cleaning the tables the whole 45min we were visiting.
Just wanted to clarify that I only had the sushi and didn't try the ramen. The restaurant is called "Ramen & Sushi," but it seems like sushi is more of a secondary offering there. They primarily serve basic sushi rolls and don't have more traditional options like sashimi or nigiri. Once again the location is called RAMEN and sushi so you should probably stick with the Ramen.
A ramen place I was curious to try because it is close to where we live. The ramen is a tad warm and I expected warmer or hotter broth like usual ramen would be. I asked for a hottest broth to add on my ramen; good it made it better. The server is friendly and attentive but we go to a restaurant for food mostly. I would not recommend if you are first-timer as it would give you an impression that all ramen are not good — believe me there are extraordinary ramen out there. As a reviewer, I observe servers and food preparer. This place fell short of proper equipment for staff- that being food preparer are in their skateboarding attire/ rap group- like outfit. I can’t blame the one reviewer of this place that there was hair in their food. I think, after management read this, they would make a better step in correcting this. Food- 3-4⭐️ Staff helpfulness-5 ⭐️ Food prep-2 ⭐️

Full transparency, I didn't eat here. I showed up for dinner, around 6pm. I walked in, was given a seat and menu. I was then told there was only one chef, and to expect food to take at least an hour. There was only 5 tables seated. I walked out. I am not waiting an hour for sushi. Hopefully they get fully staffed soon.

I’ve been to a wide variety of ramen restaurants across the country. This was the worst one. Everything had a not so fresh taste. I’ve never had bad gyoza at a restaurant so this was a first. I got the premium ramen the meat tasted old and cold like it was reheated. The broth was very oily and lacking flavor. My husband and I both felt sick when we got home. The service and atmosphere were average. Definitely never going back.
Ordered a pork ramen to go. Noodles were very soggy and I was disgusted overall. Would not recommend this restaurant.
