Opinions de Tandoori Vibes Chula Vista
Amazing food and service. This was my first indian restaurant I had been told in San Diego and the quality of the food and the wait time respectively were very impressive.
Tandoori Vibes has replaced the previous Indian restaurant that used to be in the very same space. The sign says "Under New Management," though I have no idea of the specifics. I can definitely say the food quality, menu choices, and service has improved. Had the Saag Paneer and Black Pepper Chicken, and they were both a marked improvement over what I had at the previous spot. The dishes are cooked to order rather than under a heat lamp, so you will be waiting longer than normal. But it makes a difference. San Diego has a decent amount of Indian restaurants, but I'd definitely rank this one among the best. Can't beat the Lunch Special for value as well.
This is one of my new favorites and go to places. The food was very authentic and delicious. Probably some of the best Indian food I’ve had. Very fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. They know they have good food, and they are happy to share it with others. The place itself is not overly decorated, and is very clean. I highly recommend.
Bomb food at fair prices with friendly folk. Will come again. Korma and Bengan Bartha were my highlights.
If you're a fan of authentic Indian cuisine, this is the place to be! I visited during a day trip to San Diego, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food is both delicious and genuinely authentic, with perfectly balanced spices and generous portions. They offer an amazing lunch special from Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., for just $12.99. To top it off, the staff is incredibly kind and attentive, checking in multiple times to ensure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you :)
We picked up limited to go order like Daal rice, naan & one paneer Karahi. It was superb. Taste was good and we ate naan after half an hours, it stays eatable. Highly recommend.
Had butter chicken curry (spice level 5), 10/10 it was amazing. My wife had the same, but at level 3 and also loved it. The chicken was very good and the curry had a ton of flavor. We also had tandoori chicken, and it was the best I've ever had! Staff was very kind and the restaurant was very clean.
Soo delicious, great lunch deal. I had the paneer tikki masala and it healed my soul.
First and foremost, the service is amazing! The waitresses are very attentive and friendly! They always checking up on you to see if you needed anything else! The business is family-owned so mainly take-outs but they do have few seating in the restaurant. The foods? THEY CAN NEVER BE MORE AUTHENTIC THAN ANYTHING!!! I have ordered other Indian food from other restaurants but I’ve never have anything this authentic before! Must try if you’re in the College Area or near by!!!!
We were in the area craving authentic Indian food and we came across Tandoori Vibes. This place was amazing! From the food to the service, it was the best authentic Indian atmosphere we have been in. The spice level was perfect for Indian people, and I felt like I was back at home. Highly recommend if you are in the San Diego area!!
No-frills spot with great Indian food. I've tried the Chicken Vindaloo and the Chicken Biryani, and both were excellent. I've been back for the Biryani many times sense. I ordered a lvl 10 spicy, and it wasn't too hot for me, but my tastes are a bit extreme - I'd only recommend it if you eat a lot of spicy food and know you can handle it. My wife thinks this place is spicy, so c'est la vie. The atmosphere could use some improvement but if you just want good food and don't care too much about atmosphere, this place is solid.
Best Indian Food in San Diego hands down. Tikki Massala was incredible. Can’t go wrong with chicken or fish. Perfect amount of menu options whether you eat meat or not. I Most definitely highly recommend this restaurant and I will be back here again. Service was incredible.
I came here for the first time and I got the butter chicken and garlic bread it was a 10/10 they were very friendly and they served me well I forgot to tip so I’m going back tomorrow to tip them and order again thank you for great food and service.🙏🏾
Amazing food!! Staff was very kind!! Make sure up the spice level on your food! Got the lunch special tikka masala!
On a super busy night, the guys were still extremely nice and helpful. The food is worth the wait for sure! I would still highly recommend giving them a try!
I like this place, good staff, clean food, my only complaint would be that their Biryani i missing some spices and pretty much is chicken and rice, no gravy even, and doesn’t have the actual aroma of a real Biryani, they should relook into that, Their Biryani is like a regular rice mixed with chicken stew, If they look into that and change the Biryani spice, this place is the best in town
Vegan dishes are authentic, budget-friendly, and served by friendly staff. I highly recommend this as the best Indian food in town! Plus, if you pay with cash, you get a 10% discount!
Today was my first time eating here and I was instantly amazed by the prompt customer service! I was greeted as soon as I came in, my questions about the different dishes was answered in a polite manner! After I placed my to go order, she went the extra mile to bring my drink to the table, which I could have grabbed it out of the fridge but I thought that was so sweet! Soon as I got my bag, the aroma from the food was heavenly, I busted it open in the car and guys....sooo...soo...sooo good! The bread was really good and the curry packed with flavor, stop in you wont regret it 🤤 Ill be back 💜
Super good food, awesome servers, and everything was delivered quickly! Perfect if you wan't something fast and cheap, but not fast food 👍.
My sister and I were in the area for a couple of hours (we live almost 2 hrs away) and starving. We stopped by Tandoori Vibes and couldn't have picked a better spot! I'm very picky when it comes to Indian food and I'm telling you, this IS IT!!! This was exactly what I was looking for! I'm soooo sad they're in San Diego. I would come here every week if I could!
The food is damn great! I got the daily lunch special chicken korma (spicy level). It has great kick and taste. They provide a lot of naan too (Two of what you see in my photo.) The staff is polite and food was still hot after I got there when my food was ready. Just remember to grab utensils because it wasn't in my bag and thankfully I grabbed before I left. Parking around 12:30 isn't great. But you might only need to walk a couple hundred feet.
I came to San Diego for a weekend getaway and a doctor's appointment nearby. I stopped for a quick lunch at Tandoori Vibes, an unassuming, Indian restaurant in a strip mall with a supermarket and a bunch of little restaurants with cuisines from around the world that demonstrate California's diversity. The place itself is what you would expect of a small restaurant in a strip mall. Nothing fancy. But the place was clean and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the lunch special, for which I chose butter chicken, and accompanied it with a veggie samosa and a mango lassi. it really was outstanding. The service was also very personable and the server very kind. Would I come here for the atmosphere on a date night? No. Would I come here with my wife who also loves Indian food and whom would enjoy the quality of the food? Absolutely! Lunch was fast and delicious. I left happy and full. Thank you!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at The food was just incredible every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and the kind of spice that makes you feel like you’re right back in India. The staff were super warm and welcoming, and they made sure we felt at home from the moment we walked in. I’m giving them a full five stars because it’s not just a meal, it’s an experience I’d happily come back for anytime. Definitely recommended Feel free to tweak it however you like!
I came to Tandoori Vibes with my friends for the first time today. We arrived around 4pm and there were only about 4 other patrons there. The restaurant is somewhat small, seating probably about ~14-15 people max, and isn’t particularly decorated or anything, but it’s clean and simple. We ordered mango pineapple chicken, goat curry, tikka masala, cheese naan, roti, and mango lassis. My mango pineapple chicken was awesome! It was super flavorful, and since I got it really spicy, the interplay of the fruit and spice worked wonders. The chicken was very juicy, and the curry was complex, rich, and hitting on all cylinders. The goat curry was really good, too. The goat itself had a good char on it and the curry was earthy and a little smoky. The roti was nicely cooked and worked well as a wrap for the curries. The rice comes free with your order, which is a really nice touch since many Indian restaurants often charge $2-3 per rice serving. Overall it was a really nice meal and the restaurant displayed a thoughtful presentation of Indian food that was consistently delicious.
The chili paneer was stellar. Nice and crispy outside, soft inside. The butter chicken was also delicious. The Dahi Bhalla was moist and flavorful. I guess that's the crux of it. All the dishes were full of flavor. The tandoori roti was the right thickness and prepared properly. The restaurant is fairly small so we had to wait for a few minutes but not long really. The bathroom was sketchy, for what that's worth. The service was friendly and helpful. So, whatever they are doing in the kitchen is magic and I will go back for sure.
Wow they have great lunch specials. You get the best value in price, quality and quantity. Monday to Friday 11am-3pm $12.99 plus tax for a plate of rice, naan, soda can and a curry dish. We got veg korma and chicken tikka masala and added veggie samosas for $1.99 each. We also ordered a plate of butter chicken to take home. I love how all the flavors soaked into the protein. We got a level 8 in spice but it wasn’t at all spicy. I’m working up my spice tolerant and it wasn’t spicy for me. I would definitely come back here many more times.
Finally a place that doesn’t make its gravy with ketchup!!! The taste is amazing for Indian food. Being a vegetarian it’s really hard to find good taste with spicy flavours. Everything we ordered was amazing. They also gave out complimentary Mango pudding and Glubjaamun for the long weekend 🎉 Would definitely recommend after a hard day of walking at the zoo.
I took my wife to eat there for the first time and she loved it. She fell in love with the food and the mango Lassi. It took a while for them to bring out the food but it was worth the wait We have to go back to try everything else on the menu

OMG! I've been craving some delicious Indian food and this place did not disappoint. I ordered via DoorDash and it came nice and hot. The food was absolutely delicious. Such great flavors and good portions as well. Unfortunately, I devoured my food before I could snap a picture of it all. I'm definitely ordering from here again!! Food review: Chicken tikka masala: (5/5) Such great flavors, not too spicy and good amount of actual chicken pieces. Vegetable samosas: (5/5) Yumm!! It was a buy 1 get 1 free deal on DoorDash. So happy I got the deal. These were perfectly crispy and were soooo good! The dipping sauce is always my favorite. Wish they had more sauce in the containers. Garlic naan: (5/5) These were on the thinner side, but packed with flavor and soft/buttery and yummy.

This Indian restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is incredibly delicious—rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced in a way that keeps you craving more. We’re visiting the area and ended up coming here twice in just three days, because instead of exploring other restaurants, we couldn’t resist coming back. Every dish we tried was outstanding, and it’s clear that the chef is exceptionally talented. The staff, all from North India, are warm, welcoming, and add to the authentic experience. Their hospitality made us feel at home, and the entire atmosphere perfectly complements the amazing food. We finished off our meals with a traditional masala chai, which was fragrant, spiced to perfection, and the most delicious way to end the dining experience. Truly unforgettable!
We were in San Diego on a family vacation and we were craving authentic Indian/pakistani food. The meal was delicious, perfectly cooked and absolutely tasty, service was excellent and quick. The portions were very generously served. We will definitely visit again
This is our go-to comfort food whenever we’re craving Indian cuisine. Even my kids love it—especially the naan and garlic naan, which we always dip in the tikka masala sauce. Consistently delicious and satisfying every time!
From the moment we went in, until we left, the service and care that the staff put into making sure we were taken care of, was amazing. And THE FOOD!! Beyond our expectations. We were there celebrating my son's birthday and it was the first time we visited. We're definitely going back!
Food was great as well as the service, some of the best lamb curry I’ve ever had! The employees were so nice.
The food was REALLY good! I got the butter chicken and the cheese Naan with garlic. The employees were REALLY amazing. Food is VERY reasonably priced!
Really yummy and authentic Indian food here. They have good prices and good quality food. I usually go for their lunch special and they offer a cash discount. Their Chicken Tikki Masala is the best I’ve had. Their Naan bread is very tasty right out of the oven. Friendly staff and great service. I’ll keep coming!
Tandoori Vibes truly lives up to its name. The food is flavorful, fresh, and tastes very authentic. The tandoori dishes were perfectly cooked, juicy, and well-seasoned. The curries were rich, aromatic, and felt like proper home-style Indian food. The naan was soft and fresh, making the meal even better. The staff was polite and attentive, and the service was quick. The ambience is clean, comfortable, and family-friendly. Overall, a great place for anyone who loves authentic Indian and tandoori cuisine. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I believe this is a new place, that took over the long-closed and low-rated "Mirch Masala". I stopped in one evening (around dinner time) with my daughter, it was empty, except for one person picking up food. There were Indian people behind the counter and in the kitchen, which seemed promising - authentic and genuine - people who truly care about serving quality Indian food. The lady behind the counter was very polite, helpful, and attentive. I ordered an order of Vegetable Samosa and an order of Garlic Naan and Hummus. Both appetizers were absolutely delicious. The Veggie Samosas were hot, fresh, and crunchy, even after a 10-15 minute walk homem the Garlic Naan was uniquely flavorful with seasonings rare to my palate. The hummus was delightful. My husband found it to be slightly sweet. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very much a "vibe"!!! There were incredibly hip Indian music videos playing on the TV from YouTube, which was very fun. A very welcoming and "party-like" atmosphere. An Indian family walked into the restaurant after I did so it was nice to see that. I immediately cannot wait to go back for the $10.99 lunch special. I hope they offer that forever. Definitely definitely definitely try this place out.
My only concern was the wait time taking a significant amount of time but the food was really good. I ordered the spicy chicken korma with basmati rice 10 out of 10 would go again
I came here for lunch with friends because of the good reviews. They do have a weekday lunch special for $12.99 but unfortunately we came on a holiday when it was excluded. We ordered lamb karahi, chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka marsala, and a mushroom marsala with garlic and regular naans. The curry dishes came with white rice too. The food was really good. We ordered everything in the medium spice level and there definitely was a kick. The lamb was nice and tender. The two people who were working there were really nice. They made sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our meal.
I got: Chicken Tikka Masala, White Rice + Garlic Naan, Lamb Biryani, Kheer and Mango Lassi. Everything tasted great. My only little issue is that I was not warned about the spicy level for the Biryani and I thought it was pretty spicy. It was not my first time having biryani and I usually handle spicy food pretty well.

The food was absolutely amazing! I have one negative feedback to say. This was my first time at this location and I didn't understand the names on the menu. They had a brief description but not enough information so I asked the server what this was and she was very upset that I asked questions so she just answered it with "are you going to order or not". So I just took a risk ordered the food and luckily it was delicious. But I will say the server was not very accommodating whatsoever. Towards the end when I took a picture of the Google review sheet is when she started to be a little bit more nicer but the damage was done. As far as the food goes it was amazing. The atmosphere was great. The server not so much in my opinion.
I ordered a lamb kebab, and it was awful. The lamb kebab was super dry and had no flavor at all. They served me the kebab first, and it took them a long time to bring the rice👎🏼.
Bad vibes. Worst Indian food I think I’ve ever had. Fraudulent pictures on Uber eats. Pathetic excuse for fries (frozen crinkle cut vs the fresh cut as advertised). Dry chicken. Tiny portion of bland and unseasoned hummus for what they charge. Generous portion of naan but burnt and bland. Was looking forward to trying this place due to the other reviews, but i feel genuinely tricked by the photos on Uber eats vs what I actually received. Chicken seekh kabab was disgusting, rubbery, dry, and cold.
Really wanted to like this place! Want to support local and try new Indian restaurants and was so disappointed with the quantity! An order of naan is two small pieces only!!!!!!! And at $18/19 per curry order, the quantity was laughable. There’s plenty of other Indian restaurants that provide value for your buck! Taste was ok nothing extraordinary
