I love me some white widow and the Cali one (I forgot the actual name hehe) Food its awesome and fresh!!!!
This place looks like it’s got patio. Solar. You definitely have to tell them. It looks really great if that is Solar that is.
Chill atmosphere, friendly service. Great beer list and AMAZING subs! We pretty much stopped eating at all other sandwich shops once we found Cheba hut. Ingredients are fresh & good quality. Bread is delicious, and they have wide variety of sandwiches. We've liked every one we've tried so far.
The subs are great but I just waited 50 minutes for 2 sandwiches. Edit: upgrading to 5 stars because I just came back to visit SD after moving away and Cheba Hut has expanded into a larger location with renovations and it’s great. I only waited about 8 min for my white widow and it was soooo good. Love this place
The food is delish! The staff fun. The artwork amazing. Stay out front if smoking is not your thing and you want to play cornhole. 2 amazing pinball machines inside with the fun artwork! Great little bar.
A Toast to Excellence: Cheba Hut's Subs Elevate the Game In a world where sandwiches are a dime a dozen, Cheba Hut stands out as a beacon of hope for those seeking a truly exceptional experience. Their "toasted" subs have gained a reputation for excellence, and I was eager to explore the hype surrounding this beloved chain. In this review, I'll dive into the details of my encounter with Cheba Hut, highlighting the standout stars of their menu, including the White Widow and Thai Stick. As I stepped into Cheba Hut, I was immediately struck by the laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. The rustic-chic decor, complete with wooden accents and vibrant colors, created a cozy and inviting environment. The open kitchen added a touch of excitement, allowing patrons to witness the culinary magic unfold. The friendly staff exuded enthusiasm and warmth, making me feel right at home My journey began with the White Widow, a delectable sub featuring tender chicken, crispy bacon, creamy avocado, and melted provolone cheese, all nestled within a crispy baguette. The first bite was nothing short of revelatory. The textures harmonized in perfect symphony, with each component complementing the others in a delightful dance of flavors. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, while the bacon added a satisfying crunch. The avocado brought creaminess, and the provolone cheese tied everything together with its rich, velvety texture. Next, I ventured into the realm of the Thai Stick, a vegetarian masterpiece starring grilled tofu, crispy tempeh, shredded carrot, cucumber, cilantro, and spicy Thai peanut sauce, all nestled within a soft, fluffy baguette. This sub was a vibrant explosion of flavors, with each bite delivering a delightful balance of sweet, savory, and spicy notes.
Fun and funky space with a chill vibe, the sandwich and krispie treat were very tasty and the staff was friendly and service was quick. Will come back soon to try more.
First Time there,,Had herd about it through some friend's.,.Went to check it out,,,Fire ORDERED THE WHITE WIDOW AND THE G13 best sub by far,,,,No disrespect Subway or jersy Mike's but I found a new sub spot, Plus the Reggae Playlist was on Point,,,,Great Job,,,,,Be Back Soon.
We loved it, our kids loved it, and I am thankful to whoever the amazing human is that came up with this idea and turned it into this wild and crazy deliciousness. Please, please come open one in NYC! My 7yo rarely remembers or raves about food much unless it's made an impression on her, and a month later she's still asking to fly back just to eat here lol Fun, fun ambience! Fantastic service. I love that there are three flavors of Kool-Aid. It was so wonderful introducing our children to our childhood drink. Unless you're doing the Sticky Icky (PBJ), the garlic herb bread is definitely the way to go for your sandwich. I love that you can customize your sandwich and make anything vegetarian. So many different varieties - I wish I had more time to try them all! Our favorites - 3yo loved the Sticky Icky on white or wheat with PB and Strawberry jam. Our 7yo's favorite every time we went (yes, multiple visits because it was that good, and it was also right next door to our hotel) was the Chiesel - which I have to admit was our favorite too, except we got it with jalapeno cream cheese *drool*. I tried the A-Train, was not my favorite, and would probably modify it if I got it again to have less veggies. I need to stop writing this review or I'll be tempted to buy a plane ticket to San Diego and go directly to Cheba Hut. Go, you won't be disappointed! Seriously - some of the best sandwiches ever, and who doesn't love being a kid again and having some Kool-Aid?!
The staff is so amazing and friendly. Super detail oriented. I was having such a bad day my husband brought me here to eat. Every one is so nice and welcoming. It makes your day better just walking in. The sandwiches taste like they are made with love; like when your Mom makes you lunch for a field trip!!! The brownies are so rich and full of love too! It made my day so much better. I can't wait to come back!!! Worth every dollar make sure you tip them too!!! (:
The absolute best subs in San Diego. The staff is always friendly and helpful when deciding which delish sandwich to try! Goo balls and Koolaid top off a perfect meal. Their nachos and pretzels are also bomb. The new location is spacious and has some pretty awesome murals! The bar is huge and always has the friendliest bartenders. 10 stars
One of the best themed delis in the city. Toasted subs are their specialty and they really run with the 420 theme. They manage to pull it off quite well and make an amazing sandwich. Cheba is the only themed style deli I find myself coming back to. They have a bar, dining in with a beer is a good option. Seating and atmosphere are above and beyond the normal deli expectations and the sandwiches are unique and well balanced. If you want something new and unique AND a great sandwich, this is your spot.
I've been going here for around 8 years now and it never let's me down. The sandwiches are to die for. The white widow is my favorite! Also do not pass on the chocolate chip cookies. Atmosphere is great, especially if you are a fan of Mary Jane.
I love Cheba Hut. Their old place was a little cramped, and it still had all of the best vibes. Their new place is bigger and more peaceful. There food has also been far more consistent since moving yo a bigger location then before. Always love their sandwiches.
Absolutely delicious. One of the top 3 sandwiches I've ever had. Will definitely be returning often! Sweet girls at the counter, too
LOVE LOVE their sandwiches. My only complaint is pleeeeease open more in San Diego. There’s so many in Vegas. Can we get a few in San Diego.
This is one of my favorite places to get a sandwich and I'm picky when it comes to sandwiches. Everything is really fresh here and the bread is the best. Items are largely named after strains of weed so be prepared for that if you're not hip to the pot. Bonus that the staff can tell you where to find the closest and / or best dispensary in the area. Extra bonus that they are all genuinely very nice and accommodating. There seem to be more vegetarian options here than usual and you can get a beer on tap if you're in the market for it. How many sandwich shops can you say that about? This is in the college area of SD, adjacent to SDSU, and is heavily student populated, but they're still good to people approaching middle age like myself. No snobbery here. Great quality food. Fair prices. Great staff. Come here!
Edit for 2024: Visit their incredible new space with a full bar! Cheba Hut still reigns supreme. If you're still eating at Subway, you're missing out! Ever since 4.0 Deli went away, Chebs is rising to the top as SDSU's best sub sandwich. Try not to let the menu confuse you - everything is toasted hot & melty, everything is fresh, and everything is customizable! I've even seen someone ask for Capn Crunch in their sandwich and the kind employee obliged. Whatever you order you'll catch a cool vibe at this off-campus hangout. DO NOT MISS: Their Back-to-School parties (twice a year) and their 4/20 party!
Best subs in town! Plus their drinks are cheap and very good!
My kind of restaurant. Chill vibes, good people, great music, delicious drinks, and awesome food. I love the well thought menu with tons of options and I also love how the sizes are different types of joints. Great place to hang with friends.
Great spot in San Diego, the food is exceptional for sandwiches. So much flavor and options my favorite is the bomb which is a meatball sub. Such an amazing atmosphere lots of music, full bar, indoor and outdoor seating with corn hole great for the whole family. It’s a stoner, anchorman themed place which is fun right next to San Diego State.
Only ever gotten delivery but sandwiches are always great. The bread is soft, the meat always feels like a good portion vs the other ingredients, the dressing is so good. The foil they wrap it in is always actually big enough to use as a plate and with a bendy straw for drinks is the little things that make it all the better.
I love the 5-0 "all the pig, baby!". The French onion soup was delicious. I've also tried the AK-47(French dip) and the La Canna(Italian) baked and unbaked, delicious either way.
The key to a good sub is the bread and their bread is awesome! Lot’s of sandwich options or can have a salad. Cheba Hut has locations in Arizona, Nevada and California. This is the 4 location we’ve visited. Has a laid back vibe. Some locations serve beer and wine and others have a full bar. They tend to be located near colleges and universities. The one near UNLV is open late with great late night happy hour.
I love this place. The sandwiches are amazing, fresh, and consistent. Somewhat paradoxically, they also have amazing customer service. You'd expect a stoner place to be absent minded and slow but they are top-notch friendly and accommodating. Today there was a very minor issue with my sandwich (they forgot to leave out Jalepenos). Not a big deal since they have never messed up before but when they came around to ask how it was (which they always do), I mentioned it. They apologized and gave me a sandwich coupon to use next time. Good old-fashioned customer service at a place that is anything but. Keep it up Cheeba! And if you've never been before ... try the Kali Mist on garlic herb with a side of honey mustard. And maybe a rice crispie treat. Bomb!
Some of my favorite sandwiches in San Diego. My favorite is the Thai stick and my husband loves the G13. Such an upgrade from the old place. I like the full bar and outdoor area is pretty nice to meet up with friends and watch the game.
I recently just started visiting Cheba Hut and honestly this is such a fun place to hang out at. I have come here every week on Thursday nights when they have their Super Smash Bros tournaments and it's so much fun. Such a great atmosphere with really nice and friendly people. The employees here are very friendly and chill. It's just full of fun. And the prices are reasonable for their drinks. It's not that bad at all. I have bought some of their food and honestly, I love their nachos. They're the bomb! Highly recommend trying them.
I come here, and everytime this place makes you feel at home, first of all when you walk in the menu is lit. You get the vibe that this place is definitely woke, and then there are these amazing order numbers they give you have super cool pictures of different bands and things like that and stickers, and skateboards on the wall, and sector nine, and all the cool things that are cool. the music they play is A1, the atmosphere is super chill, and the vibe is so baller, The staff are super guniene, they are prejeduce or rude or judgmental, I really super appreciate this place as a local in our community, thanks Brandon for letting me leave this good review thanks Cheeba hut for being so rad. See you soon❤️❤️💯✊🤙🤙✌️SD
I ordered the Apollo 13 and it was divine. I love the toasted bread. I will definitely come again
So, I have been trying to try this place for a long time. I went in there one day to pick up an order for a friend. In all I was able to smell was fresh bread and fresh veggies. So right then I made a decision that I need to come back here. So today I walked in and at 1st I did notice all the 420 suggestive decorations there. Even though I don't partake I felt like I just had to try one of the sandwiches. So, I got the meatball sandwich a chocolate chip cookie, and a big cup of cherry Kool aid. Yes This place has Kool aid in their fountain. So I did enjoy the sandwich because It was really good. And the meatballs had a good flavor to it and just the right amount of cheese. Then the chocolate chip cookie. Although it was good it wasn't anything special. It was on par with cookies made at other sandwich shops. And lastly the Cherry Kool aid. It is pretty hard to mess up cherry Kool aid. So as far as service I give a 5. As far as food I give a 4 And because this place is pretty clean I give cleanness of 5.
I visited cheba hut on Monday around 1pm ... there was no parking so I had to park down the street but the walk was no big deal. This my first time so I went with the G-13 (Turkey & roast beef) Roasted turkey breast, roast beef, chipotle mayo, bacon & provolone... my sandwich was toasted to perfection... at first I was skeptical about the chipotle mayo but it was actually perfect and I can’t imagine my sandwich without it... the flavor was amazing.... can’t wait to come back !!!!!
First time getting from here and man was I impressed. I ordered through DoorDash and the order showed up about 20 min later. I ended up getting the Acapulco Gold, Pinner size which is 8”. The barbecue flavor was tasty without being overwhelming, along with pickles and perfectly cooked chicken. I recommend their garlic herb roll, great savory kick! Highly recommend this place for great quality sandwiches with well balanced flavor! The picture I posted only shows half the sandwich as I ate the first half in minutes!
First time back since they moved into their new space. Really a big improvement, and the food seems to come out much quicker. Delicious sandwiches.
Definitely a shop designed with 420 in mind. 🤣 too bad they don’t seem to serve 🌱 or 💨 hehe. But the design is really cute. The atmosphere and the servers were really nice and friendly. To bad the BF wasn’t here. He’d would have loved it. Anyways, it’s right next to Yokai where I’m getting some new ink 😛 Ordered the G-13 🤭 if you know you know
Fantastic atmosphere and service. So many places to sit, fun decor, plenty to do. The 5-0 sandwich was incredible but the jalapeños had me fighting for my life tbh
I am not a fan of sandwiches, but cheba hut...I can do some cheba hut. I always get the kush which is their blt on garlic and herb bread with Chipotle mayo and hunny mustard. It's seriously the best sandwich I've ever had, every time I eat there. The atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of seating inside, at the bar or even outside seating.
Duude! What a delicious sub! Cool call by my daughter and son-in-law, they have really good taste. We're not in La Mesa very often, but we'll definitely return to Cheba Hut on every future visit.
This place is an absolute gem. The inside has a really cool, laid-back vibe that instantly makes you want to hang out, and the sandwiches are seriously next level. Everything is packed with flavor, perfectly made, and hits every time. Plus there’s a bar!!
Kali mist. Always fire. Been coming here for many years. I remember being butthurt when they raised their prices for a sub from $11 to $13... now it's about $20 lol But I'm a sandwich guy, and let me tell you, it is def worth it. Whether you do take out and grab your sub and kool-aid to go, or stay in and enjoy the bar and great atmosphere, it's always a great deal
No notes. 10/10. Food is always good no matter what you get. Drink options are great for both fountain, canned and the bar! They also have cookies, brownies and other munchies that I always get for later. The prices are worth it because is filling and can be broken up to multiple meals. They are 4.20 themed so if you are offended by that - go to subway.
Great sandwiches. Love the fresh bread. I like the KGB or the Chicken Bacon ranch. The blueberry lemon cookie yum. Happy Hour has a $2 house blond beer that is nice.
MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS! This place is absolutely GAS 🗣️ Cheba was recommended to me by my nail technician Nay! She recommended the Kali Mist and when I tell you this toasted sub blew me away I mean it! Every bite was absolutely delicious and mouth watering!!! The first crisp bite of the perfectly toasted sub was life altering, I don’t think I’ll eat any other toasted sub like this ever again. I cannot wait to try their different signature sandwiches. 10/10
This restaurant was a lot of fun. We were having a hard time deciding where and what to eat this evening and finally decided on sandwiches. My son had heard good things about Cheba Hut so we decided to give it a try. It reminded us a bit of a local restaurant chain in KC…Yellow Sub but with a bit more personality and charm. They also offered a broader menu selection. The parmesan garlic bread was very tasty and was a hit. This restaurant also offered a full bar to go with their menu items. Can’t wait to return.
Amazing! Wasn’t aware that there was a Cheba Hut in LA, was ecstatic to come across it in LA as a San Diego transplant. From the moment I walked in, Employees down to the owner Travis was amazing! And plus they have plenty of seating, Games and open late. Finally, a slice of the amazing food I’m used to here in LA
Cheba Hut is one of our favorite go-to restaurant and now with its new location (next door to where the other one used to be) it’s much more spacious. This restaurant is kid and pet friendly with lots of fun art and photos throughout the restaurant. Our family love the the self served Kool-Aid drinks and the pinball machines they now have. They have vegan toasted sub options and kid friendly food available, salads, and treats. This is such a fun place to hangout with friends and family. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Spacious parking lot area. Mobile ordering is available.
First time here to this location. It did not disappoint. From our entry and a friendly welcome, we were happy to be there. The cashier was very engaged. My boyfriend always gets the pacific blue tuna. He loves it. I do too it awesome. I got a super lemon haze chicken sandwich. Wow!! That was so good. We want to get again already. We brought our new puppy Brodyblue_22 and he was welcome too. He is a really good boy and just hung out with us and he people watched while we ate. The environment is fun and open. We will be back soon.
Nice spot! Sandwiches tasted great. Fresh ingredients and toasty bread. We ordered the Kali and the Italian subs, both were delicious. The spot seems chill with a nice little bar area. They offer drink specials and have two big screens to watch the games! The dining area is big enough to chill, eat and have a few drinks. I'd definitely will be back again.
Definitely had a great sandwich buuuuut come on no Thursday night football!?! That’s nuts! 2 subs and a couple of pitchers quickly went to 2 subs and a glass of beer. In others words you guys fumbled this time!
Update 5/8/24- overall the quality has improved in the past couple years (after a dip during quarantine), but they forgot the cheese and jalapenos on my sandwich... Original- Great food & the guy that took my order was super friendly. Must have been a late lunch rush or something when I went because I was waiting around for close to 30 minutes before I got my food. Not a problem for me, but if you're in any kind of rush order for carryout because they were doing all of those orders first. They also forgot the jalapenos on my Kali Mist but I was dining in so it was an easy fix.
Great food every time... Quite overpriced though. They claim prices are higher in order to compensate employees, but I've heard that excuse more times than I can count. Something else in the business model is unhealthy when you have to shift blame like that.
First time I haven’t given a Cheba hut 5 stars… seems like this location is a bit lost. The proportions of the sandwich were all wrong and they couldn’t make one of their signature drinks without spilling it everywhere. Place was pretty dirty. Just needs some practice and more workers maybe. Still a decent sandwich.
It's a great sandwich spot. Just be aware that everything is Stoner themed. If you have a sense of humor you'll be just fine. It does take awhile. If you don't plan on sitting down call in your order. It's been around quite awhile so you know they're doing something right. The new location, just around the corner from where they used to be, is much cleaner, brighter and they now serve cocktails and beer. Overall it's a great place.
Atmosphere is cool and fun to look at all the details.Food good fresh. A bit expensive for a sub paid $18 for an 8inch sub.$$$$
I love their toasted subs! Kali Mist is the only thing I order, loaded up. On point every time. Always save room for a Goo Ball. My first time at this location. Nice and roomy. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. They just happened to be cutting what must have been ten pounds of onions because everyone's eyes were watering. They opened the door and apologized. It made for an interesting visit. We pushed through it signs enjoyed our meal, next time we'll bring goggles 😉
This was my first time going to your restaurant. Upon walking in, I was very happily surprised with the artwork and overall look at the restaurant. It's definitely my kind of place. The music was awesome as well. I ordered the 12" Kali Mist spicy club for $19. When I've ordered $19 sandwiches from other places, (ie .Jersey Mike's) I get a sandwich loaded with meat and any vegetables that I want. The Kali Mist looks great, but underneath all the lettuce and tomatoes, there were literally one or two slices of turkey and one piece of bacon. Other that that, i'll be back for more Kool-Aid on tap. Keep up the good work.
Not just your average sandwich shop. Cheba Hut is one of the dopest places around. Very good sandwiches, and they came out pretty dang fast at this location. Having koolaid drink dispensers brings me back to childhood. High quality, but a little pricey. You get what you pay for tho! The ambiance is something you need to experience for yourself at least once in your life if you enjoy trees!🍁🍃
Love the ambiance of this place. Super casual place with hella cali vibes. I had the white widow which is their most popular sub. They put a lot of meat in the sub and the 8 inch is really filling. I would’ve liked some more sauce but a really solid sandwich. They also have a great selection of beers and extremely warm and friendly staff.
So we go to Cheba Hut quite often and we just went yesterday and everything went way up in price. It used to be a reasonable place to have a sandwich and a beer. It seems like the sandwiches went up about 4-5 dollars so almost 20 bucks for a blunt and the beers went up 2 to 8 bucks each. I don’t know how you’re going to keep the college crowd with those prices. I don’t even think Cheba is part to the mandatory 20 dollars per hour. Most likely you will start losing business with the price hike. I know I won’t be there as often!
This place used to have better costumer services. I waited about 45 minutes for two subs to go. But they prioritized order for people who order way after us and ate in. I asked 30 minutes into our wait and they said it would be an extra 10 minutes bit took longer. The reason I was given for our food not being ready was because it was busy.
I actually love this place and they have fantastic sandwiches. I used to go all the time, maybe 2-4 times a week. But, they raised their prices so high, I can only go when I want to pay too much for a great sandwich; maybe once a month now. Great bar too.
My daughter and son-in-law are always at this sandwich shop at least 2-3 times per week. They actually went to this place twice yesterday. Because I was watching their little one they offered to treat me. I didn't want a full sandwich but just a salad. I asked for the Power Plant because it looks delicious and has all the stuff that I like. I got all Plant but no Power! The salad had none of the following: black olives, shrooms, dressing, guacamole, barely any feta cheese, onions or green peppers! The kids were shocked by this lame salad and offered to go back and get a better one. I declined. I wanted to eat NOW so I fixed up the salad with whatever I could find in the fridge. What I received in no way matched the online Power Plant photo.😔 https://photos.app.goo.gl/tHA7aZsD77pK6KA56 https://photos.app.goo.gl/NEehgQFaw8ZFuNFv5
I always get the Humboldt but it taste better when they put alfalfa sprouts on it and oregano they don't make it like they used too the sandwich is a little boring and bland now and i really like this place. I sent some pictures of the way the use to make the and some pictures of the way they our now the one with the alfalfa sprouts is the old sandwiches
Cheba Hut was recommended to me by my brother! In my opinion, just ok. I ordered: -kali mist pinner (garlic bread) $13.29 Free drink for yelp check in. It was super spicy for me...flavors were good, but not a lot of meat. So value wasn't there for me. Some staff was friendly...others were not. Some parking available in the lots...but limited. There is seating inside and outside. We opted to sit inside on a warm weekday...and not sure if there is no AC available...but super humid inside with no air flow. Overall, ok meal.
I used to come here a lot more. Things changed last year, though. Everything is different, no one has the same energy now. it feels like half the business it used to be. Loved the atmosphere and vibes, but i feel like i have to find a better snack spot now. Don't know what they're doing in management, but it's bad for the food and business!
Ok so, The person at taking our order was either new or stoned, prob the latter. That being said, it's on brand for the place...I guess. Anyways, my order was wrong, and when I went back up to explain, they said ok and supposedly they were making me another one. But the correct order never came. We grabbed someone else and they were also stoned or new and didn't understand. I was just gonna leave and finally it came out but my partner was way done eating and I left with a rice crispy for dinner. This was similar to my pervious experience. However, food is bomb, but I can confidently say, we will not be back. That's why they call it dope.
So I ordered.. Thai stick pinner with a French onion soup. The hubby ordered the White Widow.the sandwich was ok...lacked a little more protein.. but my soup on the other hand was not up to par.. we returned it back to tell them this was missing bread and simply I can tell it was aujus with raw onions and cheese that didn't even melt properly ....I have been here many times never had any issues... I've gone to the one in Riverside and loved the French onion soup and as well as there hooked up sandwiches... so I decided to try the onion soup here...I was very disappointed. I let the dude know I was disappointed..he said they changed there recipe blah blah blah to be honest didn't really care what was coming out of his mouth sounded like just excuses they're just playing around in the back .....at this point probably won't be going back Sadly.... Definitely not worth the $5 I could have seriously just went home and chopped up some raw onions and threw it in some water soup!
I’ve been a daily for years here at Cheba Hut, even before they moved to the new location. When I tell you that this is the worst management and service has been since coming here daily, it is the worst of all time. This place went from being from a fun chill spot to grab a drink and food after work to a complete unwelcoming and dead atmosphere. You don’t even feel welcomed anymore. The bartenders(not all of them but the majority)have no experience in bartending and are bad at their job. The only thing they know how to make is their signature hashcan. They barely know how to pour a beer and are untrained in other simple specialty drinks. And let’s not talk about the management. Because everything starts from management. It’s like if the managers job is to make this place fail instead of succeed. Mistreats the workers and takes the tips from the bartenders. Ever since the new manager took over, the atmosphere and the environment at Cheba has been dead and hostile. This spot is in the heart of a college area and it feels like it’s a hole in the middle of the suburbs. This new management has made a bunch of great employees quit. Over all the food is amazing but the atmosphere and vibes are not what they used to be. If you’re hungry, just stop by and grab your sandwich and leave because it’ll take you about 10min to grab a drink and if you order a beer from the tap, IT MIGHT BE HOT!
Love Cheba Hut food, however, every time I have been there the handicap parking was taking by non handicapped patrons, and they did not only take the handicap parking spot but the space need for wheelchair accessible vehicles. I mentioned this to a worker and was told you should say something to them…. First of all, I have confronted multiple people on numerous occasions when I see this. However, this is not my business and the business should ensure that non handicapped people are not parking in these parking spots.
First and foremost, cheba has great food. Actually no complaints about the food or staff. The ENVIRONMENT though? Seating next to clearly unsecured compressed CO2 tanks (literal missiles if they tip) doesn't sit well with me. Cheba, please be better at safety. This doesn't affect only you, but your customers and your overall bottom line. I prefaced with theres nothing ever wrong with the food here, but when they blatantly disregard the CA laws set forth for the protection of employees and patrons, it begs the question what else they are seemingly turning a blind eye to. Love the AK47's (sandwich), don't love the missiles (unsecured compressed gas that can and WILL kill) next to me.
Service is great however, according to management and ownership they don’t allow volume for sports games even the Super Bowl and major playoff games. It’s absolutely ridiculous considering they have tvs everywhere. Going to a bar and drinking with no volume for sports games makes me not want to come here anymore. It’s time for ownership to own up to their misdoings and allow the employees to put volume on for sports games it’s wanted by every single customer here.
Been coming for quite sometime, however this last visit was terrible. Ordered online and got to the place and was told that it was almost done just a few more minutes by a young African American women. She had seen me standing there for at least 20 minutes and didn’t even bother to check if it was ready as I watch the other workers handing out customers meals. I proceeded to wait for another 15 minutes while the original woman I checked with left for lunch or the day. It wasn’t until I asked after almost waiting 40 minutes another young women if my sandwich was finally ready in which she looked and seen that it had been sitting in the ready to go area, in a bag that I had seen had been there for about 10 minutes. It was nice of her to apologize, however this was the most terrible service especially because the other women did not even bother to mention my name to the others or that I had been waiting that entire time. The food is awesome and delicious, but I suggest that they either hire more people to help with getting food out in a timely fashion or teach the individuals taking and handing out orders better customer service.
The service was HORRIBLE! I understand this location is close to a college. The female employees acted like high school kids with no communication skills and while I was taking my order they were laughing and having a whole side conversation. Pissed me off to be honest. I went for the experience and what a shame. Hire new people or mix the employees so they don’t slack off and chit chat all day!
