I fell in love today, will be comming back to try more of their meals and pastries. I got a tiramisu cake, carmel macchiatos and a hot french dip sandwhich with spring salad. It was delicous! They have seasonal sandwiches as well as cakes to take and some made to order. The orders were quick and service was excellent. Sit outside if you can to enjoy the nice sunny days. Take to go or stay, its all really good.
I love this French cafe. I love their bakeries product always fresh. Very nice staffs, good place to sit and relax for drinks and bakeries. The only backdrop of this place is its cake are very expensive $52 per cake sounds bit more.
Delicious! Every time we eat here, we find the food so tasty! Today, we had the butternut squash soup, spinach and goat cheese quiche, Mac n cheese, onion soup, and some scones. The food was hot and filling. We paid a reasonable price. We will definitely return.
My recent visit to Champagne Bakery was nothing short of exceptional. A true gem. Their pastries are wonderful too. A must try place.
Lovely French bakery with delicious baked goods & breakfast all-day. Had omelet with potatoes & baguette that were good & French toast with berries that was probably featured breakfast. Very popular / busy on Saturday Morning
I had an excellent experience. We ate outside because we had dogs with us. The tables, chairs and umbrella were very comfortable and inviting. The food was excellent. I had the Brie, Havarti, Apple slices and Fig jam grilled sandwich and loved it! My husband had a Havarti and Turkey cold sandwich. He said it was great. Service was fast and personal. We got lattes as well and that was the only hold up. The lady in front of us didn't know what she wanted. Definitely will go again and get the Croque Monsieur!
We had heard they had good quiche. We ordered quiche, Lorraine and French onion soup. It was absolutely delicious. We will come back!! Update, we have come back several times. The food & service continues to be outstanding. Tried a bacon, cheddar, mushroom omelette today, comes with red potatoes (so delicious) . Amazing.
I got a black forest cake here from the display for my birthday. It was delicious, I think this is the only place I'll get my birthday caked from now on. It didn't have any writing on it, but that's fine because I brought it to a restaurant where they cut it up and served it to pieces to my guests. So it was perfect! I should have gotten some pictures, but we ate it all.
Its located near Trader Joe's in Carmel Mountain. The pastries and desserts are freshly baked and super delicious. The have combo meals of a sandwich and soup. We got half Spinach goat cheese quiche and half tomato bisque soup. Also half French onion soup and half French bread dip in sauce. We had the raspberry almond croissant and coconut white macadamia chocolate chip for dessert and everything was sumptuous.
They got the Croque Monsieur sandwich just right. High quality ham and cheese, very good bechamel sauce and it tasted authentic, yum. Standard salad greens were served on the side but the dressing was exceptionally good. Like a creamy mustard vinaigrette with the slightest hint of curry powder. Best dressing I've had in ages. Though I didn't have any dessert the wide selection of pastries and cakes in the case looked delicious. The place was very clean including the bathroom and the servers were helpful. No indoor dining for Covid but plenty of outdoor seating. I'll return and report back.
Delicious salads and French desserts. Nice menu of traditional French café food. Finding a parking space during lunchtime might take some patience as this shopping center is a popular place. You order at the counter, and they'll bring the food to your table. It's a small place, but feels large with the surrounding big, glass windows. There is some outdoor seating which is on the sidewalk facing a busy parking lot entrance, but the patrons don't seem to mind. Located two stores down from Trader Joe's.

Had a great breakfast with my cousin! Enjoyed the food and especially the company. Great location-Trader Joe’s, Chico and Soma nearby. Winning combination!
My husband and I used to have breakfast date every Friday. The food is delicious and their coffee is decent. They also have a great dessert selection.
Best place to grub a breakfast or have an afternoon Tea/Coffee. Custom service is 10/10. They welcomed us with a big smile. It was on a Sunday afternoon. The cashier was very friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seats. I love the outdoor environment, very relaxing. The 🍰 is delicious 😋. It's always a pleasure to visit this Bakery. Everything is fresh and price is reasonable. I highly recommend it.
We've eaten here twice. Food is amazing, but the service is so-so. I would like them to ask if it's to eat in offer a ceramic cup for our coffee. I didn't know they had ceramic cups until I saw other customers with them. We've had two pastries and the spinach quiche all of which were fantastic! Staff was friendly but slow both times. The food makes this place worth the mediocre service.

This was the first time, went at lunchtime. Very busy, we sat outside it was a nice. We asked the cashier a question and she had no idea, she just shrugged. So, we ordered 'French Dip' it was good.
I love the place. The food and the cakes are really good. But the service is terrible. They are not organized. They have 2-3 people in the cakes, the cashier, and other stuff. But most of the time all the people is doing the same thing. They are not organized. They take long times to take and order. Sometimes since all of them are focused on the same thing, your food is in a counter, waiting there because no one can just grab it and take it to your table. This leads to the tables being constantly dirty because again, all of them are doing the same thing and no one is cleaning them. Great place, but they need to improve the entire service.
The food was delicious and prices were fair for the area. The pastries and sweets by the front looked great! However the service needs improvement. Overall, staff were not polite and we could here their personal conversations behind the counter from where we were seated. Our food took quite a bit of time to get to us and a lot of tables were left unbussed as guests were leaving the restaurant.
We enjoyed the dog friendly patio on a beautiful day. I had the short rib benedict with fruit instead of potatoes and it was excellent! My husband had croissant breakfast sandwich and loved it. Then we shared the bee sting puff! Oh yum! Service was a little slow and many tables were unbussed, so the choices of where to sit were limited. The coffee was great!
The pastries are supper good and good location! When I’m craving pastries and first place on my mind is Champagne Bakery! Once I met some staff not friendly that’s bcoz my Asian accent however it’s not a big deal for me bcoz the pastries in your shop can make me smile ;)

Exquisitely FRESH croissants made all the difference!!! These croissants were baked TODAY; not last week or yesterday a’la coffee places. The sandwich came with a well toasted split croissant filled with chopped Andoville sausage, overlaid with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and garlic - if you like, omit the garlic. The sandwich was wonderful; but there were no napkins to wipe away the oil from the meat and melted cheese under the sandwich. The fries were wonderful- 3/16” square cut and PERFECTLY cooked. Remarkably the 3/16” cut made it easier to use my fingers to eat the fries one-at-a-time; I found myself slowing down and enjoying the total experience… but there were no napkins. Finally because the sandwich and fries were such a delight, I ordered for dessert a Raspberry-Almond Croissant. It was deliciously tasty with another FRESH croissant—. Oh the really fresh croissants are a joy … but there were NO NAPKINS provided. Thus, an easily 5-Star encounter is missing one. (Please click 👍🏼. Thank you. )

Went In to check out . Their selection of pastries ended up deciding on getting one of the mini bread puddings that I got into. It tasted funny at first and then once I opened it up it tasted moldy not a good first impression. They seem upset that i would say anything . They want gifted me a new selection of dessert which I picked the lemon tart and I paid for it by adding the money on the tips jar so nothing was free and feel confident in my review honest and unbiased opinion. Hopefully the lemon tarts is good. I'm pretty sure most people don't say anything if something 's doesn't taste right. They seem like the quiet type ....they not like us.
I tried the Desert Pear Lemonade! So sour but I loved it. My wife and I split the crab eggs Benedict and Mixed Berry French Toast. The bread wasn’t very sweet but went so well with the lemonade. The portions are pretty big. We really could have shared a single plate. My suggestion is to stick with the Croissant Breakfast Sandwhich. Unless you’re feeling adventurous.

The croissants are big but not at all layered like French croissants; quantity does not equal quality. The chocolate croissants not any better: basically a croissant cut in half and filled up with chocolate paste or perhaps Nutella. The palmier was a little better but very dry (yesterday production?? ). In short, we are disappointed if we compare with the Champagne of the early 2000s. We are going to try French Oven ...

The last 2-3 times I got breakfast or pastries here, it was disappointing, not wonderful like it used to be. Yesterday’s almond croissant was stale or over baked and had a weird filling that tasted like some sort of unidentifiable fruit, not almond paste. The plain croissant had a rancid butter taste. And the servers at the counter make no effort to be friendly. I used to love this place, but no more.
The food used to be good here. The service has always been a little hit and miss. There is a beautiful young lady there who’s always a sweetheart. But once in a while, you get someone who is not so friendly. Unfortunately, the cakes are really expensive and they’ve disappointed every time. I keep trying a different one as maybe it’ll be different - but they just aren’t. They’re beautiful in presentation, but not so great to eat. That tiramisu is not tiramisu at all. Just don’t even try it. You will disappoint your guests by bringing this to a party. I think they used to be better. You know a place is struggling when their bad reviews get a canned response. Not a good sign.
This can be a nice place to sit outside, but this can hardly be called a bakery unfortunately. $4+ for stale, poorly baked pastries. I ordered a danish and it was super stale. I think I could have gotten a better and fresher pastry at the Ralph’s next door for half the price. I hate to leave such reviews, but as i value having coffee shops around that are relaxed and nice places to sit (especially in suburban areas), I feel I have to leave a review that might push management to do better. The baked good simply must be improved. Inside also smells like bleach (good to know the place is clean, I suppose, but hardly appetizing when stepping into a bakery). I hope the management can improve its offering.
The staff is friendly. But that's about all I can say. The cappuccino was likely made by someone who has never made a cappuccino before. The plate and cup were also heavily chipped. The chocolate croissant was literally a cold croissant cut in half and heavily smeared with Hershey milk chocolate. The lemon cupcake was redeemable as it needed more lemon forward flavor. It's really disappointing for a bakery to serve these items.
We ordered 3 times this week. First order fruit tart what was delivered via DoorDash fruit muffin Second order this time the muffin was ok even if not ordered what DoorDash delivered was a plain tart Tonight Friday 17th at 7pm Tried to order the fruit muffin in person was told they didn’t have them. ok. Ordered a blueberry muffin a pumpkin muffin and an eclair. Paid open the box for the wife got a blueberry muffin and an eclair. No pumpkin muffin. If you order here do it in person and always check before leaving. Also talked to the person behind the cash register for a couple of minutes with the bakery person staring to witness. The checkout clerk turns and is surprised proceeds to ask me what she can get me. Due to these interactions I wonder if there is an auditory issue. Except DoorDash work off text and the bakery was entirely empty except the clerk the baker and myself.

Came to have lunch here with my mom and overall a bad experience. My mom got a cup of French onion soup and found something small and hard in it which shouldn’t have been in soup. We asked what it could be and with an eye roll were told “it’s just a pistachio”. No sorry, no attempt to correct it. We perused the menu and couldn’t find pistachio in any of the items either which begs the question of what was it doing in French onion soup in the first place. We also ordered sandwiches, my mom’s came and 10 minutes later I still hadn’t gotten mine. I went up to the counter to see it had been sitting there, so I ended up grabbing it and serving myself. When a waiter saw me do this she just gave me a blank stare, no sorry or let me help you. I understand this place has mostly young adults in their early 20s that work here but management could do a better job of teaching some customer service. Cherry on top of the cake was the dirty fork they expected me to use, again had to find someone to ask for a fork and it was met with attitude.
When I called I was out on hold for 8 mins before I could even place my order What I got: The Sorriest pale looking birthday cake with raw strawberries on it FOR $50!!! And guess what! they don’t even sell birthday candle. Good luck with that! I’d rather drive to Miramar’s Paris Baguette
Here was our very unpleasant and terrifying experience from the store manager (circled in red in the enclosed photo) just this morning. The manager was handling/putting our ordered items into box in such a rough manner, that caused chocolate twist broken into half, and napoleon's top layer off, but she didn't care and continued putting all those broken items into box. I saw all that happening. I had to stop her. Even worse, the the middle of all that, a greasy delivery person came in the area for the manager's signature. All was done with the manager's bare hands. I tried to avoid that manager for some time. But, this time I gave her a chance, but she failed totally. One question for the upper mgmt there is why you have to tolerate all that nonsense. Hope to hear from your upper mgmt.
Our first experience at Champagne French Bakery Cafe was far from pleasant. The staff member handling the front was rude and unhelpful. When we simply asked to change our order due to a missing item (ranch), their attitude made the whole interaction uncomfortable. A customer-friendly approach goes a long way, but unfortunately, that was missing here. Disappointed and unlikely to return.
I previously wrote a review discrediting SDJeff for his bad review, but I had not been there yet. I want to aplogize to SDJeff and say that everything he says is true. The service is indeed awful, but it all starts with management. This place is so disorganized, hence the cold food and bad attitudes of the staff. Many praise the good food but have they gone in the back to see where its made? Its filthy. No wonder this place was shutdown in march for vermin. Get it under control people or someones gonna get really sick.
I will not be returning back as I did not have a good experience. The main reason was because of the poor customer service. The staff was not friendly, nor cordial. I ordered pastries and an iced mocha. I asked for a refund for my drink as I waited through two customers after me, and no one had started making my drink yet. I was pretty confident it was never going to get started. I did not receive an apology, however my refund was given.
Came around 10 mins before closing for just a few ready made items. The door was locked and curtains lowered while people ate outside. Please change your hours so I don't drive out of the way after a 12 hour shift, thanks 🙏
Im very big on pastries and cook many of them myself. What the other reviews say about the dessert is unfortunately true. I had an eclaire and it's not a true eclaire. I don't know what you would call it but the bread is not made of choux pastry, there was barely any custard and the chocolate ganache was too thick and not a true ganache but hard chocolate. Also custard should be delivered via piping bag, not have the bread be sliced in half like a sandwich. Overall very disappointed. Also the latte was scolding hot and tasted like brewed coffee with milk. Will not come here again.
We have been to the Champagne Bakery Cafe 5 times over the last 12 years and each time have left not just disappointed, we’ve left POed! Confirming why we don’t go there. Today was the last straw we will never return. I received an absolute terse attitude from the young lady taking our order at the register, like she was put out by us being there. Twice our food sat on the counter until it was cold because it’s the responsibility of the person taking the orders at the register to deliver food to the tables. So if they are slightly busy, like at early lunch today, forget it, your hot sandwich will sit there getting cold until she’s available. Today, the third time, I retrieved our food myself which seemed to insult them. Then, when needing condiments for a once hot sandwich, I had to wait in the line again as the person making latte’s actively ignored me, then pointed to me to get in line again for condiments as they were too busy. While waiting in line, your food gets even colder! if your not going to staff it, why not call out numbers or names and have customers retrieve there own food? Why not have condiments out for self service? Today the food tasted greasy like a dirty grill and the presentation had no pride, see photo. A previous time they lost our order. After waiting almost an hour, I waited in line again to inquire. Although it was the same woman she did not remember me. To prove I had previously ordered food, I had to logon my on-line banking app to show we ordered. ALWAYS, get your receipt! (they will ask if you want it!) This has been a consistently terrible experience at the place. Only go here if you’re up for frustration and greasy cold food. Negative stars if I could.
Incredibly disappointed by their desserts. First time buyer, took 2 slices of every cake they had today for my wife's birthday, barely ate a couple teaspoons of each as they are absolutely disgusting. Vanilla Eclairs are basically chocolate bars - they have such thick layer of chocolate that you can't feel anything else beside the barely chewable solid piece of chocolate. 1/10. Tiramisu cake is named 100% wrong, nothing in it reminds of tiramisu, it's just "some cake" that does not taste any good. 2/10. Black Forrest cake - overly moist cake that falls apart and tastes bad. 1/10. Three-layer chocolate cake - tastes like 3 layers of some vegetable oil, the worst of the worst. 0/10. Buttery Croissants were delicious though, 10/10. I would understand if those cake slices were $0.49 each - you get what you pay for, but for $7.49 it's unbelievably bad. $60 thrown into trash.

Very disappointed! I just ordered 2 Chicken Pasto takeout, and found the half of each of them (in a box) has no chicken meat at all but onion and veg! What the quality of food!!! so so disappointed and will not order any food from them, and no recommendation. Period! 😡sorry, I should take pictures. But...
