Absolutely love this place. Food is always served to us correctly and hot. Colleen is the best waitress ever! Some times the wait can be longer than we like but it is always worth it.

The place was absolutely packed, as it should be, because we had an amazing dinner. We had a large group as we were having a family dinner. We all ordered different items off the menu and it all made it to our table at the same time, hot and fresh! I had a Philly cheese steak melt that would make any mouth water. My impossibly picky 6 year old devoured her chicken strip and fries. That is a feat in itself to find food she will eat out at a restaurant! Our waitress was amazing, she was on top of everything and a master at anticipating our needs. We had a great time and the food was out of this world. I highly recommend the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, they are fantastic and the marinara was superb! We will definitely be back.

The ice cream is still as great as it was 30 years ago. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices which were much better than those of local ice cream shops. It's a good thing we don't have one nearby anymore, otherwise my waistline would be even bigger than it already is. The menu also offers many food options, including the old classics.

I love to bring my grandchildren but they should get rid of game machines. Too expensive and too much of a distraction plus it blocked getting in and out of business. I love the food but more training or better training in the back of the house. Great presentation but hit and miss on soups.

This is always such a great place! Even though there were only 2 waitress, and it was fairly busy, we were always taken care of. Food was great and ice cream was even better!

Im so happy to see our Clifton Park Friendly’s doing well!! Sending out the flyer was a stroke of genius! There was a great mixture of families and seniors when we were here. My 90 year old mom and i ordered two senior meals and the food was good. My mom was excited about the sundae at the end. Staff very hardworking!

We were the first customers of the day, but plenty of folks came in after us. Friendly (patient!) and fast service. I got the cool ranch chopped cheese, which was weird but delicious. The fries were particularly good. Since all the Friendlys near us have been closed for years, we opted for the full experience and got sundaes. It's just not the same getting their ice cream at the supermarket! Gave four stars for atmosphere as the table was a bit worn (looked dirty at first glance but it was just discolored), and the bathroom was not as clean as I'd expect so early in the day.

I came here today with my wife and daughter after a field trip. I now realize I definitely have a soft spot for Friendly's and I appreciate that it seems unchanged since I was a kid in the 90s. Our server (colleen?) was awesome, the coffee was really good and I had bacon ranch quesadillos that hit the spot. Definitely would go here after a field trip again in the future, should the situation arise.

A remembrance of childhood. Use to come to a local Friendly's with my grandmother everyday after school when I was a kid, getting a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and then the reeses pieces sunday. That was 30+ years ago, times have changed, and so has Friendly's. Don't get me wrong, I still adore the place, the old school feel of it all, but you can see the writing on the wall when you walk in and there's only a single booth in use during peak dinner time hours. But enough with that sad nostalgia, what about the food? Well I tried their Doritos Cool Ranch ChoppedCheese Burger, Onions Rings, and a Happy Ending Sunday. Total coming to just under $30, which is pretty standard for my Friday night endeavors. The Cool Ranch Burger I replaced the patty with the Impossible version, since I'm not big on red meat, and overall my impression was "this is a mess, a mouthful of mess, but it's kinda tasty." It wasn't as spicy as I expected given the presence of jalapeños, and it held together better than expected when first judged by appearances. The rings were perfect, crispy, crunchy, and great fried onion flavor. And the Sunday, which comes free with certain meals like this one, was a refreshing way to cap things off as I opted for the Peppermint Stick ice cream. Overall I am full, satisfied, and mildly saddened by the decline of this once bumping east coast establishment.

Colleen is my favorite! She's an amazing server who always makes sure you have what you need. The food is consistently good, and of course, the ice cream! I'm still disappointed that the mini motz sticks were removed from the menu... I do think this store could be managed better. It's pretty often when the servers have completely full sections and are still required to host, make ice cream, bus tables, etc. It's far too much on the servers, and it's not fair to them or the customers. Please stop trying to save the company money - take care of your servers. Without them, you wouldn't be able to open the doors.

I would have given the 5 stars. As our experience was overall decent. The unfortunate experience is that the staff were less than friendly? If you name your business Friendly's. The food was good. We ordered a BLT and chicken tenders. The interior is aging. It was about 50$ for this meal.

It's been a long time since I've been here, but we used to come a lot when I was growing up!! Friendly's was always a go-to, with their great food and fantastic service. So many memories. Also, Friendly's mint chocolate chip is my favorite ice cream (find it in stores).

First time we visited this place for a quick round of desserts. "Friendly" staff, lots of parking places. They do not serve breakfast all day, only until 11 a.m..accessible parking and seating available. Go for the ice cream sundaes, they have to offer. Truly awesome.

I grew up going to Friendly's in the 70s, so a nostsalgia revisit was in order. The menu has expanded massively since those days, and is now comparable to I HOP, Denny's, and other chains. Food was good (not as good as I remember, but that's to be expected). Cleanliness could be better. When I went to leave, I tried ordering an ice cream from the guy at the counter. He (apparently, according to a waitress) didn't speak English and looked startled when I spoke to him.

I look forward to this every trip to visit my parents. I'm coming in from Ohio, where friendlys has been gone for a long time. Happy with the food, the ice cream is great, and the atmosphere is quiet. It still seems understaffed, but the servers are always pleasant and greet are friendly 😆 with the customers. My favorite nostalgia treat!

As ubiquitous chain restaurants go, Friendly's remains a solid choice for ice cream. I would stick with takeout if possible, as the lighting inside is a bit harsh and the tables give off a sticky vibe.

It’s a nice place to go with family. It has a different feel than any restaurant I’ve been to and it delivers exceptional standards. It’s my first time coming here. I would come again.

Went for lunch today. They have a lot of good options on their menu. We want to come back just to try some of the things since it was so hard to choose. I love that they do different monster sundaes. It brings back nostalgia from being a kid and going there! I would say for a Sunday; they should have more people on. There was a constant line at the door not being sat and our waitress seemed to have a bit too many tables to provide service that is necessary. Appetizers were delicious but took a half hour to come out. If they had more staffing I think this would have been 5 stars. Otherwise, I am happy with the food and atmosphere!

We have gone many times to Friendly's. It is EXACTLY what it it is meant to be. Decent food, decent prices. Fun for families with kids, grandkids. Yummy ice cream. They have had a lot of challenges with staffing... but is better now than it was. Wait time for a table has DEcreased. Once you get to the table, the service is fine.

Always a disaster on the weekend. Servers are always nice and polite and try hard, but every time we go on weekend it's ridiculous. We try to go early (11:30 AM) before it gets busy , but seating is always slow, order for party of 2 took 42 minutes. half the food is microwaved or dropped in a fryer so not sure what takes so long. made the mistake of ordering ice cream and 1 entree to go which added another 32 minute wait and we get home and the to-go order is wrong food. not worth the roundtrip back to fix it after all that waiting. 1:45 total time for party of 2 when you get there before the "lunch rush". This does not reflect a one-off experience. this is a common experience at this location we run into often as unfortunately my kids like the place too much.

Got there around 3;40pm and stood at the host(ess) station close to 5 minutes before being acknowledged. Staff walking by without saying a word. Finally one waitress was going to sit us 4 in a booth and um were all fat/big people so I said can we sit at that table pointing to it. She seats us, gets our drinks and brings them to us then proceeds to ignore us for 10-15 minutes....giving a table with 2 kids a mom celebrating a bday all of her Time. Finally get and order and food delivered. We had the mini mozz sticks as an app and they tasted like old freezer burned food. My cousin had to ask ketchup for her fries. She had cool ranch something or other and she said it wasn't good but she was hungry so she Ate it. There was only 1 small squirt of dressing on it. Fries were not great either same as mozz sticks, old and freezer burned. I had the onion rings and they were ok. Nothing great and pastrami sandwich. The rye bread I enjoyed but I ate 1/2 the sandwich. Brother had a wrap which was huge. He didn't have any complaints and sister had a burger that she wasn't impressed with. Saving grace...we shared a big Brownie sundae that was supposed to be Carmel but I enjoyed it with no Carmel. All this time our server was MIA. A table next to us, a single older lady got more attention than we did and she was seated AFTER us. Other Servers looked miserable and no where was "Friendly" in their attitude/demeanor. It's a shame because I haven't been to a friendly's since my grandpa was alive in early 2000's and I was looking forward to it. Maybe we should have went to Saratoga where we always went to.

Staff - Very nice people. Great service. It's called Friendly's for a reason. Ice Cream - Got waffle cone with black raspberry and sprinkles and oreo bits. Delicious. Mozzarella Sticks - Pretty good but too dry, and the sauce wasn't very good, which did not help. Chicken Tenders - Dry and bland with low-quality meat. The honey mustard sauce was fluorescent yellow and tasted off. Garlic Parm Chicken Wings - Tasted ok at first, but there is a confusing and bad aftertaste when you eat too many. French Fries - Bland, cold, flavorless, and sad. My partner got a hot dog and had many complaints, but he enjoyed his ice cream. Note - The food seemed like it was cooked well, but the ingredients were just low quality.

I don’t know quite what it was but the staff wasn’t really working as much as they usually would, a lot of stuff got left un clean for a fair while. One worker was very good though, but the other staff didn’t seem to do much, might’ve been managerial.

Only 3 waiters and tables were still dirty after customers left for roughly 5-10 minutes. Ceiling tiles had discoloration from yellow to spotty black sections near a vent/fan in the center of the dining room. Alternatives for coffee was just hit tea that the tea water would have to be microwaved to become hot as the machine where the boiling water would have come from would be salty? Pretty off putting in my opinion so changed drink order to a fountain drink. Staff was friendly and did check in with tables throughout the meal once sent out. More waitstaff came out from the kitchen to help after about 25 minutes from a drink order being taken and fulfilled.

This place is definitely not for me!!!!! They used to have a really good Jack Daniels steak and shrimp. I don't blame them for changing their menu that's their choice. However I was very disappointed to go and see that the largest steak they have is an 8oz filet mignon which is still really small but the only other steaks they have are 6oz!!!!!!! That's less than 1/3 of the size of a comparable proceed steak at Texas Roadhouse and this place even tones the tiny steak with a nasty sauce ( again they can flavor it however they want it's their recipe).I definitely don't plan on going back. I love steak but I think I'd give it up if this was the only choice available. Thankfully I have a car and can get to Albany or Glens Falls for good steak at a reasonable price!!!! I've attached pictures for scale of the size of a 6 oz steak. It's kind of hard to tell but the top picture shows 2 medium size shrimp that are as big as the steak.

Ok so I went to Friendly’s today for lunch trying to remember my childhood and see if it was the same. It pretty much was. The most enjoyable was the cup of New England clam chowder. Tastes just like I remembered it and was pretty good. My wife got the fishamajig and I got the patty melt, both came with fries. Overall mediocre but a lot of families with young children were coming in for lunch. It’s good to see some of the old s hook chains hanging in there. Nostalgic for me fun for the kids. The plus is you can get a good sundae before you leave for desert.

Within a year this place will be closed. 3 things we wanted to order were out( were told as we ordered). Watched a plate sit 13 minutes under the light from our table. (Not ours) our food came out, 3 of 4 plates cold. They were even too low on ketchup to give us more than a 4oz cup for the entire table. No one had the same portion size of fries. Had to stop the server for drink refills. Empties (plates and cups) sat on the table even after we got desert. I don’t except the world from friendlys, but it was also consistent in portions, hot and decent service. These days are gone. Even ice cream took an excessive amount of time. For the busiest time we were there being 7 tables, we shouldn’t have been at the restaurant for 2 hours.

Even before the pandemic, friendly’s service has always been extremely slow. The food quality has never really differed, but the wait staff has gotten worse and worse. They’re more rude (not the two older women who have been there for years, they’re always polite). The worst is the ice cream area. Anytime I go to order ice cream I either get talked down to or get the wrong order. Long story short, if you don’t care about the staff, the food is worth it. Especially the ice cream. The restaurant is relatively clean and neat, the bathrooms are usually decent, and the prices are more than fair. This location is just not that great.

We waited to be sat for almost 30 min. Not a single person said anything about a wait time or even a simple hello. The mens room toilet was clogged and urinal didn't flush. People left and said they got sat and waited almost 15 mins before they were asked for a drink order. And we disnt see a manager the whole time we were in the building.

My daughter, 3 grandsons and I waited to be seated for over 5 minutes. We were never recognized or spoken to. The waitstaff looked past us as if we were not standing there waiting. I was so shocked this was happening that we decided to leave and go to Red Robin. We were looking forward to having dinner at friendly as my grandsons had never been there. What a true disappointment on the staff for ignoring us.

Waited in the lobby for a half hour without even being greeted much less offered a table. None of the workers cared and customers were leaving rather than being seated. Today when our food FINALLY arrived I politely asked our server Kim why our food took so long her response was , your food just came up, we only have 1 cook & you need to be patient like everyone else. I understand busy times, but our server was the only one who couldn’t ve bothered to check on our table for over 20 minutes, knowing young babies are at the table… every other server seemed to care, and then the attitude of doing us a huge favor by finally coming back… over this place … DO BETTER

We walked in to get a table and were assigned one and the waitress walked away. We went to sit and discovered dirty seats full of crumbs. We didn't sit. Waited for wire to come back and re-seat us. She walked us to another booth which was also full of crumbs, I counted 7 booths with crumbs on the entire length of the seats on both sides. We left after that because If they can't clean their tables correctly, what else aren't they cleaning? The girl didn't seem bothered by the dirt or eager to make us happy by wiping down a seat. It was 11:04 am, just minutes after they opened, all tables should be cleaned and ready to go at that time. It's not like it was middle of a Saturday night. Very disappointed. We were visiting on vacation and really wanted Friendly's.

Waited in line for 20 mins to get name on the list to be seated, then had to wait another 20-30 mins to get seated cause the place was more worried about online orders than the customers in the restaurant and they were t busy at all . I understand that they have b.s Covid rules to abide but they were empty in restaurant itself literally 6 tables seated with a 30-40 table capacity. This place used to be great but sadly the employees here now don’t care about people and it shows by their mannerisms . The waitress once seated wasn’t bad but she was obviously agitated cause she was only really doing her job while the teenage employees were to busy talking and not doing their jobs . Won’t be back again below is a pic of the table next to us that stayed filthy our entire stay while people were waiting to be seated.

What happened to the Friendly’s I remember? The food was horrible. The chicken quesadillas which were always a must as an appetizer fell so short. The chicken tasted like it came from a can and was absolutely flavorless. The burgers were okay. The buns fell apart which made me wonder if they were stale. We put in our order for ice cream. We waited and waited. Finally my fiancé asked about the ice cream and the waitress said she never put our order in. We asked for the check and said to cancel the ice cream order as we were already waiting such a long time. We were charged for the ice cream even though we asked to have it removed and a double order of quesadillas. That was brought to their attention and corrected. This particular day/time this Friendly’s wasn’t packed. They seemed clearly understaffed which is really unfortunate. The waitress that had served us apologized and gave us some ice creams in prepackaged containers. Well luckily I checked them when I got home since they had already expired. Highly unlikely I’ll be back & if so it won’t be this location.

My wife and kiddos went and showed the waitress and her behavior and service, manager couldn't help because they were cooking. The main food was inedible. Recomend just better customer service and proper management protocols in customer query. Not a very friendly experience. I don't like giving these reviews. But if I didn't see it with my own eyes. I wouldn't comment. Wow.. I hope this helps just to take note the customer service is important.

Ordered online for store pick up. Our brownie sundae came missing the brownies. When I called and explained I was told I would have to call back, the manager was cooking. I offered to hold. The "manager", who was rude from the start, said he is unable to issue a refund without first writing corporate. When I asked for the general managers phone number he said that's not how they do business. He was extremely rude and unapologetic. There is no way this person should be in charge of any type of customer service. This is our second issue with this location. 0 stars.

Paid 40 bucks for 2 burnt sandwiches, plus they were cut very uneven.

40 minutes wait for burger slider, mac & cheese, and fish sandwich "forgot what is called". 1 star of for the bill.. I signed it right away and added 18% tip. But after a while, it wasn't making sense for the amount in the bill. So i used my calculator and the amount that is in the bill... their 18% is calculated at 23.04% 20% is calculated at 26.08% 22% is calculated at 28.69% Imagine this happens to all the people who dine there without calculating if it's correct. It just happened that to me, it doesn't make sense, so I double-checked. I am not complaining for the amount on my end because i wont get rich for the $2 more if i didnt see that.... but for the owner of Friendly's who gets 5% to 6% more from the people that dine there. They are getting richer and richer.

We walked into Friendly’s and were completely ignored. Not a single greeting or acknowledgment. One of the servers looked directly at us and then turned and walked away. She later came back to grab something from the hostess stand—still said nothing. Another staff member was behind the counter and also didn’t acknowledge us. After standing there for quite some time, a young male waiter finally walked by and said he’d be right with us. But after the first waitress kept walking past us like we weren’t even there, we decided to leave. There were only about 5-6 tables occupied, so being “too busy” wasn’t the issue. Honestly, I hope we weren’t being discriminated against because we were Black. It’s hard not to wonder, given how obvious and uncomfortable the lack of basic customer service was. Extremely disappointing experience. We won’t be back.

Was waiting in line on Saturday with my mother and this tall women with short hair come from the back to curse out another customer by the ice cream come to find out I asked the worker if that was a manager they said yes shame on you for making that your face of your restaurant. We ended up leaving wasn't going to make a complaint but this hasn't sat well with me. Even if customer was wrong way she spoke to them infront of everyone was not ok.

I asked for water with lemon. The lemon was rotten brown in color I wouldn't even put it on the table if I was the waitress. I would have said we ran out of lemons. They just opened at 11 am this was 11:30 asked for a bowl of beef barley soup we just ran out. So I went with cream of broccoli soup. This was after 25 minutes waiting for anyone came to the table to wait on us. When I got the soup the cream was broke clumps and cold. Waitress never came back to the table to ask if everything was OK. Didn't come till she dropped off the check. Friendly has never been like this and will not go back.

Waiting almost 45 minutes in a mostly empty resturant for someone to greet us and seat us. Service was very slow. Food took over an hour and came out cold.

Rude staff. I was just chewed out by an employee for trying to ask how much longer an order would take after waiting 15 minutes. While I tried to express my empathy for their situation, he spoke over me and put me down. I pick up from here often and have never been spoken to so rudely here. I only wanted to ask how long it would be so I could report in the app so the next person who received the order didn't have to wait as long, but he wouldn't let me speak long enough to explain that, accused me of complaining before walking off. I never got an answer or an eta.

Got there around 5pm Saturday evening. A little over half of the dining room was occupied. We stood there, at the podium waiting to be sat, for 10 minutes while employees walked around, back and forth through the small walkway from the door to the podium, constantly asking us to move, whole bot acknowledging we were waiting to be sat. We haven't been to Friendly's in years due to poor service. We decided to take our son tonight for the first time. It will be the last time we ever consider Friendly's as an option.

My favorite thing at Friendly's is the chicken quesadilla. So I was super excited that I was working next to one and could order a quesadilla for lunch. I was extremely displeased once I opened up my food, but I was too far to turn around. They had barely any chicken or cheese. Looked like someone just threw them in the box.
