Chamard Vineyards, Farm Winery Bistro

First time visiting and had a great experience. Staff was super nice, quick and attentive. Limited menu however food was fantastic. Wine was excellent and generously poored.

The visit couldn't have been more awesome! Suuuper friendly staff, perfect service and delicious food and wine. Loved it!!!!

I have visited this location on a few separate occasions now and have been very impressed each time. Pre-Covid I was able to experience the Wine Tastings and the Amazing Food from the Bistro, not to mention the beautiful Vineyard/Landscape you can walk through! This past weekend we stopped by and even though things aren't as we'd all like them to be, Chamard still found a way to make their facility My Favorite Vineyard in CT! They have created a great way for guests to still be able to come and enjoy an afternoon out of the house! Its worth the drive for me!

Wonderful brunch, delicious food and wonderful service. Kayla was a pleasure to have as our hostess.. Wines and Mimosa yummmmm... Port wine...bought a bottle for home.

We had a lovely winter lunch. The service, wine, and food were all outstanding. The duck was a particular highlight…best I’ve had!

Wonderful food! Nicely priced and delicious wine list (we had the Riesling). Started with olives, then the burratta berry salad. Entrees were the chicken and swordfish. And beautiful views of the vineyards.

We enjoyed an exceptional dinner and terrific service on a beautiful, rustic setting. We particularly enjoyed the Ahi tuna and Bibb salad appetizers, swordfish entree and chicken pesto sandwich. A bottle of Chardonnay complemented dinner. Flourless chocolate cake, creme brûlée and pot de crème were healthy portion size and so tasty. Our waiter, Garrett, was attentive and knowledgeable including about gluten-free options, of which there are many on the menu. Overall, a most pleasant experience at the vineyards.

We are coming here regularly, with my family, with my girlfriends... We love their selection of wines.. desserts are delicious too! Highly recommend it. #realtorTatyanaMakarov

First time here. Will definitely come back when it's warmer and lined with flowers on the outside. The place looks Charming on the outside too. The inside felt very cozy, casual but classy. The staff was great and very attentive. And the food was comfort food who is complex flavor and not overwhelming. Well done chef!

I had my wedding in June 2025 at Chamard Vineyard. This is absolutely a perfect wedding venue and the winery & vineyards are stunning! I cannot say enough good things about my experience. My wedding was about 30 people. Amy, the even sales manager, ensured my special day went smoothly and thoroughly. She was super attentive, professional, and quickly responded to any questions. The staff serving at my wedding especially Nella and bartender Mark went above and beyond to provide such an amazing atmosphere. The attention to detail was superb, the food was amazing (my guests were raving about the salmon and filet mignon), and the decor set up in the barn reception was immaculate. Chamard even accommodated our wedding for the weather (luckily we were able to be outside!). I cannot wait to visit again, and I cannot recommend this wedding venue enough.

I have been to several vineyards in CT and really think that this one sets itself apart. The food was unique and I enjoyed everything I tried. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The environment is beautiful and upscale, but still fairly casual at the same time. The staff was very friendly even during a busy time. Finally the grounds are beautiful and walkable which also set this vineyard apart. I would recommend making a reservation before your visit, and cost wise I would say a little more expensive than average, but worth it for the unique menu. I will definitely be visiting again!

We booked an evening here very last minute, but were totally blown away. 20 minutes away from the hustle of New Haven, in a beautiful, relaxed, romantic, intimate setting complete with a great selection of modern French-American dishes on the menu. Wine was great, food was great, service was great. This is a special place where you bring your special person/people along for a night to remember.

A must for anyone who loves amazing food and tasty wines. My husband and I found this place by chance, and we're blown away. Garrett, our server, was helpful, informed, and delightful. We both had different wine flights. Loved the Stone Cold White, Stone Cold Red, Sirah, and bubbly. Highly recommend the pistachio crusted salmon, Mac n Cheese, and the coconut dessert. The grounds are delightful and well kept. Don't pass this one by..

Chamard Vineyard is a well-known winery and bistro located in CT shoreline. It offers a wide selection of fine wines, as well as a menu of locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients for a unique dining experience. Such a peaceful and beautiful setting, no matter the weather. During spring and summer, you can enjoy outdoor dining, looking over the vineyard and a gorgeous fountain. During fall and winter, you can cozy up next to the fireplace at their bistro. Nice ambience and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food and drinks. However, its best to reserve ahead of time as it can get busy, and it may be on the pricier side. Their serving can be better. It is very minimal.

My friend and I visited Chamard Vineyard & Bistro. We had a lovely wine tasting in their tavern. We dined on Roast Duck and had a luscious white wine followed by an outrageously delicious Crème Brûlée. Their chef is phenomenal! I could eat his cuisine every day. Chamard has an amazing staff. They are attentive but never pushy. Our waiter was outstanding. We found out that Jacques Pépin had dined there the night before. I would have loved to have seen him. What an incredible man and chef. We're looking forward to revisiting Chamard soon.

We live in and love Long Island wine country. This Connecticut vineyard is absolutely beautiful, the staff was so wonderful and the wine and food was incredibly delicious! We enjoyed the better part of a day here and will go back!

My God what a wonderful lunch and a delicious wine we had. This will be our new go to spot. I can't wait to try dinner here. Garrett our waiter was so accommodating and friendly. Don't miss this spot, especially if you just went shopping at the Clinton Crossing Outlets....

Lovely place to grab food and wine. This winery features both indoor and outdoor seating with their bistro restaurant on site. You can get everything from cheese plates to full meals. If eating outdoors you just have to go in and order and pick your food up and bring it out. Reservations are recommended here. Parking is easy, convenient, and the grounds are beautiful. There is also a rental facility if you're looking for a space to have a small event. I definitely recommend checking this place out. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again.

An excellent restaurant with really great food and service. I recommend you make a reservation to ensure you can get in, although they do take walk-ins as well. We love their charcuterie board, it is a great starter. For my entree I had the burger which was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend ordered the duck which is her favorite. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake-delicious!

Breathtaking views. I noticed sound proofing in the restaurant which impressed me. I hate noisy spaces. The portions weren’t huge but the food was tasty and the views were included! The staff was kind and super friendly. I loved the artwork on the walls, though I could never afford it (haha). Just lovely!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch and tasted some very good wine today! I had the chicken cordo blue sandwich with very nice side salad. The sandwich was on fresh chibatta bread. The salad with shrimp and very tasty. We had also enjoyed delicious deserts

My wife and I went there to check the place out. We were planning a surprise birthday for my daughters 30th birthday so we checked out the place first. Beautiful and the sunset of you are there just spectacular. Kerry Ann was super helpful . About 25 of us went there on June 1 for my daughters surprise . Had a great time we grabbed 4 picnic tables and had a great time. Perfect day .

I have been hearing about this vineyard from our friend who has been to Chamard for the last 5 years for business, personal and she had her company summer party at the Chamard so needless to say she loves the place. We made the date and it was better than I expected. Let's start with the wine. We have been to Sharp Hill and Rosedale vineyard so we have a small experience. I see the menu and I see a Classe Heritage Blend Red wine 2019 with Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah. Rhone grape. These are the some of the grapes in Chateauneuf-du Pape. Gotta have it. Did not disappoint. Ended up buying bottles for home. Our sommolier told us that 2019 was their best year of grapes. For our 2nd bottle we had the Reserve Chardonnay 2019. Where is the fromage? We couldn't decide to either split the charcuterie or fromage and our waitress said we can split it. Bingo! Let the dining begin. We were eating at 3:30 and hubby wanted the Salmon dinner that was on the "dinner" menu which didn't start until 4 pm. She said "no problem". French onion soup with a flavor of bacon was superb. We had tuna and salmon. Perfect. Our table was near the fireplace. There is a bar tasting room, dining room and a wine cellar room downstairs for private parties. For the right day a beautiful deck with overlooking the vineyards and pond. A separate building for events overlooking the pond. We love to go to Essex and Old Saybrook and this has been added to our afternoon late lunch early dinner spot. The wheels are spinning!

First time visitor from out of state. Gorgeous grounds, pleasant staff, beautiful views, fair prices and my favorite - quiet. Went on a Monday late afternoon and no other guest was there. We had 20 acres to roam to ourselves and that we did. The staff even gave us a good stroll through the wine cellar since there was nobody else around. Definitely go!

Came here for a wedding and this place was amazing! Great service, great atmosphere, and phenomenal food!! I highly recommend this vineyard as a wedding spot. The wine is also very delicious. Try the rose! I'm so glad we were able to visit this beautiful winery.

Went here to treat my better half after some lobster rolls on the shore. Intended just to do a wine tasting but the menu looked so good we had a small second diner. Had a reservation for the deck, but had to wait. No worries! Grabbed a couple of glasses of wine and hung out on the deck right by the pond. The winery and the surrounding area are beautiful, and I don't say that about a lot of things. Service was slow but it was very obvious they were understaffed so I won't hold that against them. The service/staff themselves were fantastic and made some great recommendations. Check them out and try all the delicious things on the menu!

So we stumbled on this gem by chance and I’m glad we did. The staff were very welcoming (even though we were a bit early for brunch) Emma, our server was spectacular. Then there is the food, which was excellent. Of course we bought a bottle of wine! (Estate Riesling 2022) I do hope we find ourselves in the area again.

This place is really great. Very romantic getaway out in the middle of nowhere. The views are great and the food was delicious. We sat next to a nice warm fireplace while might music played in the background. After two wine flute tastings, a follow up glass, an appetizer, and two entres we spent just short of $150. A little pricey but I felt I got my money's worth. Impress your significant other and bring him/her to this place.

This place is beautiful! Well kept and charming. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and service was great. Best wine in all of Connecticut from all the vineyards I've visited thus far. The ambiance was relaxing and the charcuterie board was tasty, loved the raw honeycomb. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Came here on a Wednesday evening with a group of 8. We had a fantastic time! Wine and food was delicious and the service from Garrett was AMAZING! Please give that man a raise 😁 The vineyard was so beautiful and a great backdrop for photos. Will return for future events or just dinner.

1:30 on a Friday afternoon and the bistro was nearly deserted due to road closures on 95 and Rt 1. Such was our luck to have patio dining all to ourselves on a gorgeous late summer afternoon. The food and service were top notch, on par with any fine dining and certainly exceeding our expectations for a winery. Chef’s attention to subtle flavor notes, such as lemon brine olives and charred naan with a light sprinkle of salt and ?? were appreciated. Server was helpful in choice of wine pairings with cheese starter and smoked salmon. Dessert was no exception to the delicious culinary creations. A good value all around. Can’t wait to come back.

While the food was delicious the services was slow . For a very cold day we were much to get a table with a vineyard view, just near the fireplace. The stark was great and the belly pork terrific. I’m sure is a gratA place to visit during summer time

Solid dinner spot along the eastern shore. Come on a sunny or warm evening and enjoy time outside on the deck looking over the grapes. Otherwise, the inside is inviting, modern, and comfortable. Charcuterie plate is a must for any meal here, simply superb. Wines... If you are a Napa snob, you'll be disappointed. If you like wine because it's delicious and full of antioxidants, then these will be plenty fine.

First time here. It's a stop on the Connecticut winery trail tour. We have been to about 40 different wineries . It was just a quick stop so we didn't order food . Just to try their wines 🍷. A little pricey compared to other wineries. But a higher end winery compared to others in Connecticut.

This vineyard is so nice! The grounds are walkable and open for exploring. The main building with restaurant seating is pretty and clean. We sadly didn’t make a reservation so our only option was to order for takeout and sit outside on one of the MANY picnic tables. This is forsure the way to go for a date night. Much quieter outside. You order, sit at a table, and someone will bring the food to you in plastic to go containers. We bought a bottle of white wine and got two plastic cups. Stemless wines glasses are available only with a tab open. They have a barn that typically will have live music, but that day it was hosting a private event. Would highly recommend to come and visit. It’s only like 10 mins from Clinton.

Went gear for lunch but had more expectations of a winery. Beautiful restaurant surrounded by a vineyard, that always seems to need reservation. The food was great. If you want a French restaurant this is your place. If you want a relaxing winery to enjoy tastings, sitting outside, etc, this is not the experience I’d recommend.

Had an incredible anniversary meal with my love. It was so delicious and decadent that we bought a gift certificate for a loved one for Christmas. We spent over $300 in one night, gladly. I dreamt about the dessert every night after then. My boyfriend is a professional photographer and is often asked to recommend places for weddings/ events so we have been raving about Chamard. Christmas comes around and we accidentally lost the $150 gift certificate for our friend. We were SO disheartened & acknowledged our negligence. We called the restaurant and the business manager said she might be able to help us reissue it. Later on, the restaurant refused to reissue the certificate claiming they don’t track them. We begged & pleaded that we were not trying to scam them. After all, we planned coming back 100x in the future. $150 isn’t much to them and a good amount to us. They refused. We gave it up to poor business practice and mediocre customer service. They told us this has happened before with other customers but didn’t think it mattered to implement a better way to track paper gift certificates. This was all very unfortunate as we thought we had found a gem that we could come to for years. Guess money matters more than loyalty. 😔

I have been to Chamards many times over the years and have never had a pleasant experience with a middle-aged brunette woman who works in the takeout area with glasses. I brought guests with me as their first experience, and they collectively agreed that this woman was extremely rude and unfriendly. Not only did she not acknowledge us for the 10 minutes we were standing there, waiting to place our order but was extremely unfriendly and inattentive when placing orders. The food was OK. Nothing to rave about. The atmosphere itself is beautiful, especially during the peak seasons. My main suggestion would be to get friendlier staff because there are plenty of nicer places to eat on the shoreline. Especially when you’re spending a couple hundred dollars for a late lunch. Also, the overall wait times to speak to somebody about seating was also more than 10 minutes. You also do not get acknowledged when you are waiting in line.

This has always been a special place to go for good food and a decent glass of wine. But this time not so. The salad was bitter, the bread smothered in butter. Luckily the French fries and olives were great
