Opinions de Railroad Station Bar & Grill Cloverdale
Super friendly staff and amazing food! Very upper end, delicious homemade dressings, and Cloverdale is a perfect stay if you're on the way to Anderson Valley and Mendocino. We can't wait to go back, definitely a tradition to stop here.
Fantastic food, great service and a relaxed atmosphere. When you walk in, it looks like a bar, THIS IS NOT BAR FOOD! Everything is made from scratch and worth it. I had the mac and cheese (added bacon) loved it. But they also have Asian cuisine and Mexican. My sister enjoyed the Chicken Curry my mother the Carnitas tacos. A definite recommend. A quick note about the restrooms. I have never been in a cleaner, more odorless restroom in a place that has a bar.
We just stopped on a chance for a great burger. We were not disappointed. Fabulous burger, fries and the best root beer! If you go through Cloverdale, it's a must!
Such a cute spot! We stumbled upon it driving up to Mendocino and the staff was so lovely. The mac and cheese and bbq chicken sandwich were delish!!
This is a great little place to get a bite to eat in Cloverdale. The BLTs were very good and the service was great. Highly recommend!
Stopped on the way to SF. Staff was very friendly. Shared appetizers for lunch. Best truffle fries I have ever had. Calamari and Nachos were really good as well. Drink selection was impressive. All the food looked good. Will definitely come back if we are back in the area.
Our waitress was great. Food was very tasty, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the portions were more sizeable than I have received recently at restaurants in the Bay Area. Loved that they have a veggie burger with salad or fries for a vegetarian like me. The Mac 'n Cheese is really good. A great place to "fuel up" in Cloverdale!
Best service ever!! Stopped by for a cocktail ( old fashioned whiskey) made very well, which is hard to come by 😊 had calamari appetizer big serving! Also was impressed with how clean everything was!! Going back for sure for dinner.
Excellent burger. Excellent fries. Excellent salad with citrus vinaigrette dressing. Considering I am a really picky person when eating burgers or fries or salad, this restaurant is a winner for me. We went back two days later for another meal—unheard of for us on vacation because we love to try new places! Also love the outdoor patio!
We had the clam chowder, crab cakes (crispy), crispy chicken sandwich with fries, and outstanding scallops & fettuccine Alfredo!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND everything on their menu!!
Went in on a Sunday lunch time few people sitting at the bar but not busy the service was Top Notch even with only the bartender on duty. The food absolutely amazing I had a burger I don't remember exactly what it was called but it had red peppers and onions on sourdough bread and it was absolutely fantastic plus he came with fries and salad on the plate which was great for me cuz I don't want all fries or all salad but a little of each the plate was pretty much overflowing the dressing was definitely made in house some sort of citrus vinaigrette my buddy had a bowl of clam chowder and he loves it all in all a great experience and the price was pretty reasonable as well.
Laid back bar and grill. The servers were excellent, the clientele were all very friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced (at least by today's standards). Definitely recommend.
We stopped in while traveling to Santa Rosa....whoa! The food was awesome!! Best fries I've ever had. Everything was cook perfect, portions are large and the price was not bad. The service was very good, with an awesome low-key atmosphere. Highly recommend and will definitely make this a regular stop for us.
Burgers are delicious, our was little well done when we asked for medium. Portions are big, burgers come with salad and fries. More than enough for. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
Excellent lunch out on the patio today! Very dog friendly. Food was great! I ordered the beer battered shrimp, and was impressed. They make all their dressings, sauces etc. The cocktail sauce was so good! We ordered a side of ranch for the fries my hubby got, and it was, by far, the best ranch I've ever eaten!! The drinks were really tasty, and the staff was so friendly, with great service skill. Eat here, you won't be sorry😃
Stopped by for lunch. I had the midnight express burger. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Back already. Hannah and Jamie are amazing!!
We have a friend who loves railroads, so of course we had to stop here. Everything was excellent! The burgers were done to perfection, the beer was great, and the salad greens were super fresh. If you are ever driving through Cloverdale, definitely make a stop! Also, fun fact, the owner is a Sherpa and has climbed Everest 8 times. 3 wo Oxygen.
For those traveling up and down highway 101 and needing a place to eat good comfort food, this is the place! The burgers are amazing, the service is very friendly, the bartender is not only kind but makes exceptional cocktails and the locals are easy going. 10/10 would recomend to stop by and have a burger at Railroad and walk around this quaint little town.
Stoped during my road trip from Washington back to Texas and it was delicious! Hot wings were on fireeee! And the Voodoo Mango IPA hit the spot after a long day of hiking.
Super accommodating waitress and service. Love the red old style railroad station building. Outdoor patio area too
Great place. Service was tops. Food was excellent. We'll be back for sure.
Chili cheese fries and artichoke dip were good. Love that they served the dip with veggies. Was told there would be karaoke later and probably busy but was pretty slow when there.
Amazing Food! Pork chop is to die for! The Clam chowder is mouthwatering, and the staff is super friendly! Good Vibes all around. Will definently be back many more times in the future!
Get the Ribeye steak and sit at the bar, ask Hannah (Stevie) to serve her own red wine bar blend and finish it off with her custom Jamison shots. Excellent food, and service, with homespun local humor & stories. I'm coming back!

Great cozy sports bar with many food options. I had the BLT and wanted to add more bacon (because who doesn’t love bacon) and the waiter advised they put lots on the sandwich already so I tried it! It was delicious and had enough bacon. Wine and beer were inexpensive and the Chardonnay was amazing! Highly recommend this place!
No waiting. Great service, really fresh and delicious food. Owner needs to wash the outside doors. They are dirty. Not a good look for a restaurant where foods prepared. Otherwise loved the Nepal memorabilia and seeing the giants game.
First time there in many years. Really good burger. Excellent staff.
Food was good, it was $17 for a burger plus $8 for a side of fries. The fries were nice and crispy but not to hard, salted good. Burger was juicy and flavorful (midnight Express burger), it came with lettuce, guacamole, bacon, cheese, pickles, and was cooked to our liking. My husband and I shared the meal, so one meal does feed 2 people, even though the burger didn't look big it was definitely filling with the fries. Service was okay, you could tell the lady was tired though, but that didn't deter her from giving us good service. Atmosphere is definitely nice, not to loud or quiet, a nice place to grab a bite, maybe a drink, relax and even good for family. Would recommend this place again and hope to go back soon.

Chicken wings had good flavor. Food was decent although it wasn't hot when it arrived. The hand cut fries would've been great if they were hot. A lot of locals were in there for dinner.
Stopped by here on one of our road trips. Decent mom & pop place with good food and service. Outdoor patio was nice. Seems to be a popular dive for lunch time. This place is packed! There was a little bit of a wait bit we were not disappointed. We would make it a point to stop by here again. Easy access getting there but tricky to get out of and get back on the freeway.
Didn’t have the food but it’s a great family town grill and bar
Everything is good just there business hours . They close early and stop serving food at 8pm. That's what I was told twice. Update as of Sunday 8/30/23. Spoke with the owner he apologized for the waitress and the cooks service . And let me know the correct hours of food service. Thank you for being so nice and welcoming.
Great service! Ask for Sam! Outdoor seating had the niner game playing and let us enjoy the game on a lazy Sunday. Great pit stop after the rusian river railway!
The inside and the bar area are kind of depressing and generic - no charm, but they do have a nice outdoor patio. The burgers - very generous portions cooked to a medium rare perfection, yummy sauce and a toasty brioche bun. Excellent burgers in my opinion. the french fries were heaven- Lots of flavorful peel and well done , not mushy. We also had the tacos which were not to our taste- because they were deep fried fish rather than charbroiled. The Reuben sandwich was very good as well. The sauces were all really good including the citrus dressing on the salad the ranch and the chipotle aioli which came with the onion rings. The onion rings were ok, nothing to write home about. The service was nice and quick and overall it was a satisfying meal.

We ate here on our way home from a Roadtrip. We enjoyed the beer selection and the food was delicious. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot! I would return if I'm ever in the area again.

Everything was pretty average. The food was good, service was good. I would go back if someone invited me, but I wouldn't necessarily choose to go there.
The service here has been very pleasant. We've been in twice now in the afternoons. I love that its dog friendly. I had the wings once and I ask for mild sauce, but came plain.. not too much of a biggie, but sort of dry.. I also had a Steak salad on my second trip in. It was good. My husband had the bacon burger one day and the fried chicken my father in law had the Reuben all was enjoyed for both. Definitely want to go back to try more of the menu.
I've always enjoyed this place when I visited before. Sat on the patio under the one umbrella to protect us from the Sun. I asked for a hamburger medium rare it was probably medium well done and very tough. The mac and cheese appetizer was great my son's hamburger was medium rare and quite good. I got iced tea. It came in a very small glass and was never refilled. I even had to go inside to get a check. Overall I was quite disappointed.
I want to start by saying, our server/bartender was very friendly and I have no issues with the service received. However, this was one of my worst dining experiences. I ordered coffee with cream, not paying much attention, I added the cream and took a sip. Immediately, the sour milk smell and taste aerated and I could barely hold it down. I thought I was going to vomit. My husband watched in horror. After about 5 mins of heavy mental work, I was able to regain composure. Sour cream. Ugh, a bad experience. But we still had dinner to look forward to. Sadly, my BBQ chicken sandwich was simply disgusting. Minimal chicken and a very very thick tomato heavy BBQ sauce. It honestly didn't even taste like any sort of BBQ I've ever had. It was inedible. To be fair, my husband said his burger was good.
A friend and I stopped by this restaurant to have lunch. I ordered one of the specials that was on their board, it was the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was horrible. It was more like eating a coleslaw sandwich. It had very little if any meat on it, If you could call it pulled pork on it it was mush. I told the waitress and she asked me if I would like her to bring me more pulled pork, which she did. This is a picture of the bowl of pulled pork she brought it was just like mush no taste it wasn’t even pulled pork pulled pork sandwich is a pulled pork sandwich normally yummy. This was not good at all. I will say the two ladies that were waiting on us were very nice about everything but I’ll tell you I will not go back
Stopped by for a quick lunch. The waitress, Danica, was terrific! Very attentive and upbeat. The food wasn't as good as the ratings. I had a burger with two patties. They claim to be a great burger place but only offer 6 oz patties? No 8 oz? Really? I ordered mine with two 6 oz patties, medium rare. They came way over cooked, like leather. My garlic fries weren't any better either. My plate was swimming in grease. Yeah I know they are fries, but they don't have to have this much grease. As for the garlic, it was OK, but nothing special. My wife said her seafood fettuccini had lots seafood in it, but she found it a little spicy. She can't take much spice at all. We shared a brownie sundae for dessert. It was only average at best. Not much brownie and it tasted kind of old. With nothing to drink but water, our out of pocket price for lunch was almost $60, way too much for at best an average lunch, even with great service. The place looked old and weathered too, like it needs a remodel badly. They may have been working on this, because there was a lot of hammering going on in the background too over the fairly loud and obnoxious country music. All in all, I wouldn't eat here again. Too expensive and just not that good. Also, it took too long, about an hour to get a quick lunch.

Don't do it! Had the burger here when I first moved to town because they boasted of using local ingredients. The burger was passable but not great. Also it was too pricey for the quality. The fries were horrible, dry and overcooked, without any salt. The salad was the worst I've every had, they put some kind of horrible orange sweet dressing with it, it was basically some old frisee lettuce and that bad dressing, didn't eat it ant I always eat my salad! The inside was definitely more bar than restaurant. Servers didn't have masks on and came out of a closed kitchen, there were some customers inside also without masks..no ventilation from outside either and I went here when it was warm out.
Stopped in and purchased ribs to take home & have for dinner for 2 people. I asked if a 1/2 rack would be enough. The kids said absolutely. Got home and it’s not even enough for 1 person for $20.00, I would have bought a whole rack. Very disappointed!!! I’ve heard the restaurant has changed hands and is no way as good as it used to be. Will not stop there again!!
We showed up as part of a large party (Grandpa's car club) which could be used as an excuse for the food and service, except for the fact that the club had given them more than a week's notice that they were coming and could have had more than one server for the whole entire back patio. It took our server 40 minutes to greet us and take our drink order and another 20 to receive the drink before taking our food order. Also, it was early on a Monday night so one would not anticipate it being too busy. The atmosphere was kid friendly enough but my kids ordered the nachos and the mac and cheese which were both served with the same fake cheese sauce and my kids wouldn't eat it. The burgers at our table were all overdone but the fries were ok. There isn't a vegetarian salad on the menu, so I ordered one without meat and they forgot the avocado and when they brought it- it was so dinky we all laughed. Cloverdale is up and coming and will continue to get more and more competitive. It's essential to maintain good standards for food service and hospitality. I hope the Railroad Station can improve their food and service to make it.
I was overcharged for a burger I had. When I pointed out the price the fella began muttering about new menus and seemed annoyed. I wouldn't recommend this place.
