We came for dinner and absolutely loved our experience. We had the spicy edamame for appetizers as well as the fried gyozas. Both were made so well - the edamame was soft and salty with a nice slight crisp. While the gyozas were flavorful and crispy. With the insides being warm and fluffy with filling. For sushi we ordered the mermaid, mango and Brie rolls ~ all of them were great(!) incredibly unique, our absolute favorite was the mango roll it was dense with bursts of light fruit flavor that came through the fish in such a refreshing way. The mermaid was light, airy and refreshing - the seaweed is such a good addition to the roll and really brought it all together in such a nice balance. The Brie was bold and rich, the Brie cheese on top paired so well with the fish and rice inside making for a filling roll. All were full of flavor and amazing.

What a fantastic dining experience at Varsol by Akashi Coconut Grove! From the moment we walked in, we felt incredibly welcome thanks to the warm greeting from the host. The decor was truly lovely, creating a sophisticated yet comfortable ambiance. The service was exceptional, with Gustavo and Jacob providing friendly and respectful treatment throughout our meal. We also received excellent service from the bartender, whose name I unfortunately missed but who crafted our drinks perfectly. Now, onto the food and drinks – simply delicious! We started with two sushi rolls, the Brie roll and the Shrimp Pop Roll, both of which were absolutely bursting with flavor. We then enjoyed a light and refreshing Salmon Carpaccio. For cocktails, my wife loved her Spicy Margarita, and my Negroni was expertly made. To top it all off, we shared Titi's Choco Mousse for dessert. It was the perfect ending, with a sweetness level that was just right. We highly recommend Varsol by Akashi Coconut Grove and can't wait to return!

Varsol has become a second home with a truly remarkable team. They welcome you with open arms to amazing food, generous service and the most immaculate vibes. The quality is super high, prices are extremely fair and I’ve now been a regular for years. It’s my comfort spot. The drinks are unique and diverse, the rolls are creative and the service staff is constantly walking around with smiles focusing on the customer experience. If you haven’t been, I don’t know what you’re waiting for.

Went to Varsol Sushi Bar and honestly had a great time. The sushi was fresh and everything we ordered tasted really good. The place feels comfortable and has a nice atmosphere without being too fancy. The service made the experience even better. Gabriel the manager was excellent and very attentive, you can tell he really cares about the customers. Gustavo was our server and he did a great job, friendly, helpful, and always checking in at the right time. Overall a very good experience with good food and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Such a great dinning experience. Their surf and turf roll is my personal favorite! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Fresh and delicious always. Being a local in the grove, iv seen restaurants come and go and this truly is a gem that isn’t going anywhere. Their quality of product and care for their customers is felt every time I go back. If you love sushi, good vibes, and great customer service.. this is a must try. You won’t regret it.

Absolutely love Varsol. The food is so good — hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. Everything tastes fresh and perfectly made, and I honestly crave it all the time. The staff are always super nice and welcoming, and the service is consistently great. Varsol is THE BEST spot for Japanese food. The vibe is chill and welcoming, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The sushi was really well made, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Portions were solid and the presentation was on point. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy good Japanese food, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a full meal. Definitely worth checking out.

After going to Varsol for the first time, my standards for sushi were immediately set way too high — nothing compares. The quality and flavor are unreal, and it genuinely ruined other sushi spots for me in the best way possible. On top of that, our waiter Gus was amazing. Easily the realest guy we’ve ever come across — super attentive, friendly, and brought such good energy to the whole experience. Between the food, the service, and the overall vibe, Varsol just does not miss. Can’t wait to keep coming back.

JR was great! I came in closer to closing time, yet him and the rest of the Varsol team were very accommodating. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu which made it very helpful navigating what to choose, plus, he's a great conversationalist—so overall experience was enjoyable! Varsol in Coconut Grove is an absolute gem! The sushi was incredibly fresh — you can really taste the quality in every bite, from the sashimi to the specialty rolls. Everything came out beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Our server, Jr., made the whole experience even better — he was on the ball the entire night, super attentive without hovering, and had great timing with everything we ordered. His service was beyond amazing and really elevated the meal. Definitely recommend Varsol if you’re looking for top-notch sushi and standout service in the Grove!

This restaurant is just another disappointing Miami cash grab. Customer service here is very robotic, forced and unpleasant. The food itself is very inauthentic, distasteful and mediocre. I have never been to a restaurant where the food is exactly what I can make at home. The food itself was brought out in less than 5 minutes which was a major red flag itself. Food presentation was very awful along with the food itself. This is food that you would experience for cheaper at your local Chinatown in a big city. For the price I paid I expected way better; I give the food a solid 4/10 at least it was somewhat consumable. Not a great recommendable spot for a first time date, will say that.

We ordered 3 apps on happy hour - crispy rice, tuna tartar and crab salad. Crispy rice and crab salad were both inedible. The worst version of both dishes we’ve ever had (table agreed). It was so bad, after one bite couldn’t even stomach to finish the apps. We closed out and went somewhere else. Do not recommend.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I am appalled by the lack of care and professionalism shown by this establishment. My niece was taken to the ER last night due to what appears to be serious negligence. She has a severe gluten allergy and clearly informed the server before ordering. When the dish arrived, she specifically asked again if it was gluten-free, and the server assured her that he had “double-checked.” That assurance was clearly incorrect. What makes this situation even worse is how it was handled afterward. When we called the restaurant to inform the manager of what happened, he became defensive and went as far as accusing my niece of lying instead of showing concern or accountability. This is unacceptable. Managers should know how to handle serious customer safety issues with empathy and professionalism. This experience was deeply upsetting, and I would urge others with food allergies to be extremely cautious.
