Loved the experience here - the view of the lake and backdrop of sunset behind the mountains definitely helped. Get a seat on the patio or at a window. Service was great, the host and servers are very welcoming and friendly, and the food was delicious. The pizza is a nice size - more than one person can finish in a sitting.

We had a party of 8 (reservations required), and it was excellent in every way. I am so glad we decided not to stay in and eat another meal at The Thayer Hotel. Know that it is CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM on site. Enjoy!

Hidden gem off the beaten track of downtown Cold Spring. Cash only restaurant serving up delectable dishes and fine cocktails. Great affordable price point. I had Cucumber gazpacho andbthe mussels and rock shrimp dish. Both were excellent. Our server Ryan was the best! River view from the river room. Parking available.

Could not have had a better dining experience! First of all, Patricia is a STAR. All the staff were attentive and caring, never a glass-half-empty. She went above and beyond with our meals and we were able to order steamed clams off-menu. The house bread was divine; we ended up boxing the leftover bites. Service was impeccable and you can't beat a view of the sunset on the river. We were also celebrating a birthday, but since we didn't opt for a dessert, she brought over a little bowl of whipped cream with a candle for the birthday girl to make a wish. Really appreciated how special everyone made us feel. Can't say enough good things! And prices were very reasonable considering location and ambiance! Thanks for having us; we hope to dine again soon!

This past Saturday night, we had such a wonderful dining experience! Our waitress was absolutely fantastic—she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made the evening flow seamlessly. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was nice and welcoming, with just the right amount of energy in the room. It was busy but never felt overwhelming. The only downside was that the temperature was a bit warm—improving the air conditioning would make the experience even better. Aside from that, everything else was fantastic, and we would definitely return!

It’s cash only. We ordered from the daily special menu plus the pizzas for the kids. The mussels were just so so, and I had better in a place just a short distance away for less. I did not care about the pasta at the bottom of my dish. The pork dish was delicious. The kids liked the cheese pizza. The dinner bread had good flavors. Yet, at the end of our meal, the dishes seemed to be collected in a rush, and I felt rushed to finish. And we left without ordering dessert. If I did not carry enough cash with me, I won’t go there.

Good place for food after a full day of hike. I like the dessert, the ice cream was made with real vanilla beans. Pizza was good too, although we can get much better pizzas from the city of course. Not too keen about the shoestring chips. Service was a bit slow.

What a great end to a long hike in Breakneck Ridge! To start-off, the Focaccia was one of the greatest I’ve ever had! The oysters were so fresh. The Riverview Fish & Shellfish Stew was delightful! The broth was so flavorful. And the waitress was the sweetest person! If you ever come to Cold Spring, check this place out!! FYI: this place is cash-only. They do have an ATM machine.

Solidly mediocre food. Overall, the service was fine, but our server was passive aggressive and a bit rude. We didn’t take it personally because they were clearly over run with visitors. We waited about 45 minutes for our meal (3 salads and 1 cheese pizza, 1 burger, and 1 salmon), didn’t get bread until after our meal was served, and when we asked for the check because we needed to catch a train, our waitress said she would wait until we had finished (so she could offer us coffee and dessert, is my best guess). I will probably eat somewhere else the next time I’m in Cold Spring.

We hoped for a more refined dining experience. Riverview feels a bit run down, not the atmosphere we expected. We started with a nice bottle of wine. The salad was nothing special. I would recommend the mussels, they were the best part of the meal. Our eggplant tried to be special, but it wasn’t really served hot, and the sauce looked and tasted like it was out of a can. The pork chop was large, I didn’t taste it so I can’t comment other than that it looked uneventful. We did not do dessert. Be prepared, they only take cash. Or a check. Who walks around with a checkbook in 2025?

I went to Riverview last weekend with my girlfriend, and the service was ridiculously terrible. We booked our reservation through the Resy app assuming we could pay with American Express. Not only did they not accept Amex they don’t even accept credit card. They are cash only, not knowing this I had to pay with Venmo. The worst part was when we found out the restaurant was cash only we already ordered our appetizers and they wouldn’t let us leave. Terrible experience will never go again.

Went in for a quick bite after a leisure hike. The food is NOT good and for the price a CRIME. The $22 10” pizza with caramelized onion and bacon was not good. Extremely salty and the white sauce tasted like cream cheese. The $15 salad was a complete joke. Wish I took a picture. Two miniature slices of beet thrown in with about 20 pcs of lettuce. Only restaurant in 2025 that doesn’t accept credit cards…only cash. After the rude hostess sat us, we should have left. Trust your gut and save your gut. Skip this. Lots of other places on Main Street.

After a great day in Cold Spring I really tried to give this restaurant the benefit of a doubt. When walking in, the hostess, a women with blonde hair, stared at us. I didn’t mind it, but I was confused on where to sit and if we were even in the right entrance. After eventually being seated and after about 15 minutes of having our meal, my friend spotted at least 2 MICE running back and forth past the entrance to the main seating area. My friend let the waitress and hostess know, but the waitress looked at us, sighed, and said “ I apologize for the inconvenience,” while the hostess just seemed to walk away. We already felt unwelcome upon our first interaction so we tried to be polite and even said it’s not your fault. After this, I then saw a mouse jump by a woman’s foot by the table next to us and they obviously began getting nervous as well. The four of us including the two other guests at the neighboring table, tried to tell the hostess, but the hostess really didn’t have a response. The whole dining experience felt really uncomfortable, unfortunately, almost like I was intruding in someone’s house the way that the hostess would look at us when walking by our table…on top of this, we asked for two boxes, the waitress looked very confused and upset- I didn’t want to inconvenience her when I realized this was possibly an odd request by her reaction, but this is how our food was wrapped. Still gave a generous tip because I know how difficult serving can be, but was very disheartened by this entire experience. I’m honest so I will say the food was great and the bus staff was excellent (the waitress and hostess were very upsetting) Will never be giving this resturant my money again and will be notifying the health department.
