Opinions de Tanaka Ramen College Station
Always enjoy the food. Rice curry dish is delicious as well as the pork pot stickers and the ramen dishes. Large portions as well.
I really liked the ramen — it’s rich and flavorful. The peach oolong tea is one of the best I’ve ever had.
The spicy creamy vegan Ramen is excellent and comes with various spice levels so it fits all. If you love garlic consider adding extra to it. It's incredible!
First time eating at Tanaka Ramen while visiting and it was a great time. The waitress was sweet, and helpful. She welcoming and attentive. The food meanwhile was tasty and very good, no problems at all.
Food is delicious and comes out in such a good time span! Our server, Jane, was so knowledgeable and helpful for my friend who had never been. It does feel quite hot inside of the restaurant and it could be because of the open kitchen and big windows, but it was uncomfortable at times when eating steaming ramen. Other than that it was a really good experience!
Me and my husband absolutely love tanakas. We live about 45 minutes away but come here at least 2 times a month and its always delicious! We have the same server pretty much everytime and he is amazing!
Tanaka Ramen is a family favorite restaurant that we loved going to a year or so after covid. We recently went for a family members birthday. The food is very spicy but it's so good! If you are a light weight on spice you can chose to not have spice at all! The chicken wontons are our favorite thing to add to their ramen. The create your own ramen has tons of options for broth, noodles, spice, and toppings. I got chicken broth ramen with thin noodles, wontons, and corn. It was absolutely delicious! The mochi they have comes in 3 different flavors: strawberry, chocolate, and green tea. My family and I usually get the strawberry and chocolate. Both are needlessly scrumptious, and I love eating it. I highly recommend going to Tanaka Ramen if you want a calm lunch or dinner with delicious ramen and cold mochi to eat after.
Nice open space and nice decor. Casual spot for ramen. Lots of options on the menu! We enjoyed our ramen dishes and casual atmosphere. Level four spicy was delicious while packing good heat. Ramen broth had a wonderful flavor and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The kitchen is visible from the dining area which was neat.
I’ve been here twice, and the ramen has been consistently excellent! The staff was friendly the first visit but not incredibly warm the second time around. Our chicken karaage was overcooked to the point of it being inedible, but the hostess was kind enough to bring a new order which was tender and light. I would still recommend that dish, as it is one of my favorite appetizers to order at restaurants! I’ll definitely be coming back for more.
The food is decent, par for the course for ramen restaurants in the area. We ordered the Tanaka Classic, Chicken Curry Katsu, and two Takoyaki for the appetizer. The ramen was decent, the katsu dish was mid, and the appetizer was great. I lived in Japan for a few years so my standards for ramen and katsu dishes is pretty high but overall not a bad place to eat.
Went here for dinner on a weekday. There was no wait and we were seated promptly. The ambience was very bright and open. Perfect for a friendly get together. We ordered our ramens and the order came pretty quickly(unlike twisted noodle). The portion size was medium but the food was flavourful. The prices were a little high considering the quantity. If I was looking for a get together with friends over good ramen, Id definately choose Tanaka. If I was looking for good cheaper ramen, and probably eating alone or with 1, I'd go to twisted noodle.
I had been here pre covid a couple of times and maybe once after covid. The last visit really disappointed me. The ambience had gone down, food was better a couple of years ago, we had more options for Vegetarian folks. There's like 1 guy who seats people, takes orders and delivers the food. Poor dude. The business looks good.
7.5/10 Tanaka Classic ramen. It’s okay for college station but if you want good ramen Tsujita ramen in Houston . About the same as Jinya. 3/10 pork bun , pork was a little dry and I’ve been to Chinese restaurants and their buns are much more fresh and soft. If I go here again I would get the Tanaka Classic .
I have been coming to Tanka Ramen for almost 2 years it had easily become my favorite restaurant. Until this year 2026, I would say the food has never changed it’s still pretty good! But the service has just become horrible. I came in once and it was maybe 15mins until close I understand that’s kind of late to be wanting to sit and dine but I still believe the hostess’s delivery could have been better. Before she sat me down she asked me “do you think you’ll be finished before 10pm?” . I thought that was rude maybe she could’ve told me we are no longer taking dine in rather than making me feel rushed and not welcomed. They proceeded to turn the TV’s and music off while I was still in the restaurant. That should’ve been my sign to not come back but I do like the food so I decided to give the place another try, unfortunately today the server just wasn’t personable he barely made eye contact with me and when it was time to get my card back he just placed it down on the table and walked away, no thanks for coming or have a good day. I don’t know, maybe good customer service has become a lost cause for this please. Tonight will was my last time coming to this restaurant after 2 years. Very disappointing.
Visited again. I ordered Kimchi fried rice, but what I received was pork fried rice with some kind of brown sauce. I asked the waitress if that was Kimchi fried rice, but she reacted indifferently. I asked again and she asked it to the chef. But, surprisingly the chef said it was. I am Korean and I know what Kimchi fried rice is. Actually there was no kimchi in the bowel at all. Finally I strictly asked to change my dish. And then what I received was just white rice with fried kimchi topping. The chef didn't seem to know what kimchi fried rice is or he was cheating on me. The rice part of Kimchi fried rice should be "fried". If not, the chef must not call it kimchi fried rice. It was at least delicious, but that was not what I expected paying more than 200 dollars.
went here on valentines weekend and no one was there other than one server and a cook. the restaurant was super cute but there wasn't no music playing and the servers were just scrolling on their phones. it was only 2 of us in the restaurant and the service was so horrible, i've had better service at taco bell. we could hear the servers just watching reels on their phones and we had to yell or go up to them to get their attention. the food was so mid, and they charge for everything they charge for the spice level too. i got the spicy creamy vegan ramen, it was not it and i would not recommend. it was $17.36 for the one bow of ramen.
yallllll come on what is this LOL i haven’t been back in yearsssss because the takoyaki used to have eggshells in it every time i got it to go. today i was craving takoyaki and decided to give tanaka another shot cause maybe it’s improved. just in case, i asked for the egg tartar to be kept separate from the takoyaki. it’s not even tartar it’s straight up egg 😂 what happenedddd are they treating you guys okay over there 😭 also the karaage looked so good but unfortunately it ends there because it was dry and hard to take a bite so was not really enjoyable to eat 🥲
It looks really sophisticated as you enter and dine. Food was served fast. Couldn’t sake the feeling that I was being treated as bother by the male server. The sophisticated sensation ended when they sat me at this amazing table center piece but next 24/7 cafeteria-like service station. What is worse and why I’m here. Is that hasn’t stopped having explosive diarrhea since then. I noticed something was off with my ramen so I left it unfinished. Guess it was too late.
Yesterday I dined in with my little brother after picking him up from school and we picked this place. Everything and everyone was great and I didn't eat all of my food so I took it to go. Today I wanted to eat the leftover noodles for my lunch so I heated it up and I started to slurp on them. Once I swallowed them I felt a sharp pain in my throat and later on I started to choke. I had to stick my hand down my throat and it too me three tries to take it out. It was a metal shaving that was an inch long. did not enjoy that feeling.
