Great spot for cheap eats. I had the amazing beef chili. Love the atmosphere, really felt like it was the 1800s.
So glad to see the doors open again on the Jack Douglass Saloon! Staff was great! Food was delicious! The saloon is clean and tidy. Thank you!
Nice stop every time we come to this historic setting to get a sarsaparilla. Yummy 😋 Have never tried anything but the sarsaparilla, but is a nice locale that feels like stepping back in time also. Staff had always been very friendly and helpful every time we've gone.
A fun restaurant in this historic setting. I had the well reviewed nachos and a sarsaparilla. The nachos were a whole meal. Well worth a visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will return.
Very friendly, excellent service. The owner has a lot of knowledge about the saloon and the area. They have cute little scrap books about the long history of the place. It was a great stop for us! This town is really neat to see. I wish we could have been there a lot earlier to explore. Most of the town is closed by 5.
Fun exciting place to enjoy. Brings back western times. ( Rough town with Stagecoach robbery. ) and big shoot out with the robbers & shierff. We will be back to enjoy jack Saloon.

Bring your family for some historical fun at Columbia State Park. Bring your appetite to JB Douglass Saloon for some delicious Tri-Tip and Pulled Pork sandwiches. You've got to try their square, crispy Tater tots, draft beer options, sasparilla, and coders are also popular. The historically decorated Saloon with the stage coach can't get more nostalgic.
Haven't tried the food here, but there's usually good beers in tap, or bottles in the cooler. Great music often. Update: place has been closed for a while, sign was up at one time "Opening Spring 2025", guess that didn't happen. Hoping it reopens at some point.
Its a classy old bar that also serves food as well. Hamburgers, nachos and thing of that sort. Also, they have live music on certain days/nights. Its a nice place to take a seat from the heat and experience an old time bar atmosphere. The employees are very nice and the patrons are just happy to be here. Totally worth a bit of your time if your just passing through.
This is a must while in Columbia! Great food, drink, and history. Family friendly. The gentleman working while we had lunch was terrific. Also, made a point to find us in another store in Columbia and return the sunglasses I left on the table.
On my first trip to Columbia State Historic Park, one of our teachers marched all 200 third and fourth graders through Jack Douglass Saloon lecturing us on the evils of the ‘foul drink.’ I am sure the bartender laughed his ass off after we left, I know I would. Years later, I have visited this fine established several times with zero guilt. The saloon has great lunches and sarsaparilla.
Seriously, best street tacos! Tuesday's are awesome because we go have some street tacos! When I say some, I mean like more than 5! Not because they are small...they are loaded! The tacos are just that good! Get some Sarsaparilla on tap and have a great evening listening to locals get together to jam #localspot #livemusic
Love this gem of a saloon nested in the coolest State Park. Live music, cold beer on tap and a fantastic ambiance...stuck in the late 1800s. One of my FAVORITE hangouts.

Pretty authentic! The atmosphere is pretty cool and the beer and pretzels are great a lot of fun just kicking back.
Colombia State Park is lucky to have a place that pays tribute to the town's past while catering to the changing needs of the community with great Pizza as well as old time favorites like wild Cherri Soda. If they could just figure out how to get the Sasperilla back it would be 5 stars.
Went for a late lunch. Place was mostly empty, but the service was great. Got the Nachos, huge portion but not a lot of meat. Sarsaparilla was tasty, but small serving for the price.

We just went for the Sarsparilla. The bartender filled our mugs with ice (one never ices root beer, so I assume Sarsparilla should be the same), then squirted the Sarsparilla over. It tasted watered down - nowhere as tasty as we remembered from our many previous visits.
Good food and the sodas were fantastic, however there were quite a few flies inside and trying to get to our food. Made a nice dinner very quickly unfortunately. I would go again but get take-out

Awkward atmosphere and the food honestly isn’t very good. Food is way overpriced now, a baked potato is $16. I used to come here all the time. They reopened and had a great cook, super sweet girl. I haven’t seen her there the last few times I’ve gone and I’ve noticed the food and flavor has gone down hill. The other cook is a super weird guy, bad energy all around from the staff there, just not an inviting place. Not worth your money.
Me and 2 of my lady friends walked into this establishment which wasn't very busy at the time. We sat at the bar directly in front of where the servers were working. Wouldn't you think if someone sits right at the bar they are asking to be served right away? The staff just kept walking back and forth in front of us and didn't even acknowledge us. My friend called 1 of the servers over to ask about the beverages they had available and she told her that she was not old enough to serve over the bar and walked away, she made no attempt to call anyone that was old enough to serve us. In my opinion she could have just told us what the choices were and said she would get someone that could serve us?! The man finally came over to take our drink order, after serving several parties that came behind us, he never even offered a menu. As another server walked by I asked her if we could get a menu, she rudely side glanced at me and said in a minute mamn as she continued to serve others that came after us. When I received the cheeseburger that was supposed to have all of the fixings (lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, ketchup) I received a dry burger with a slice of cheese on a dry bun with the thinnest slice of pickle on the side and it was a $13 item! This was one of my worst restaurant experiences ever!
There is a mask mandate in the State of California. We went in and the empty tables were dirty and there only seemed to be the man working the bar and he did not have on a mask. He did not acknowledge us as we stood there... trying to figure out how/where to sit. We finally just walked out. If they are willing to ignore such a simple health and safety law, it makes us wonder what other health & safety laws and guidelines they are willing to ignore. We went into two other eateries and found that they did not have their employees in masks either, so we did not eat in Columbia at all. Kudos to the shop keepers and museum volunteers who enforced the mandate or limited the number of people allowed in their stores!
