First time trying food here. Got the Beef Pad Kee Mao (spicy)togo. Food was delicious and nice portion and reasonable price. The decor and restaurant looks really pretty, will come back and eat in person next.
Me and the bestie had a great here for lunch! Ona took great care of us! It was my first time eating this food and she really helped me navigate the menu. Must eat here! Will return soon! Thank you Ona!
Food is Amazing!! I go here 1-2 times a a week. The service is Great! Ona is one of the servers there, and is always very personable, and Attentive. Great place!!
I come here everytime I have to go to St Lukes for my cancer follow ups. Ona ALWAYS takes care of us. We LOVE her! The entire staff is amazing. We are always greeted like we are old friends. I recommend this place to EVERYONE I know. Best in TEXAS!
This is my second time eating at Thai Cottage. I would have come back sooner if I wasn’t out of the country for a year. This is one of the Thai places I put on my list to make sure to come back to as soon as I got home. My absolute favorite dish is the yellow chicken curry with chicken. I get the spicy level three. The curry tastes very fresh and like they truly take their time. One of the best authentic Thai restaurants in the Houston area in my opinion!
Ona is a superb hostess and server. Very engaging and warm. You can tell she enjoys where she works and thinks highly of the food.
Lovely people! Especially to ona our server .food is abosulutely amazing , taste good especially the red curry shrimp, i don't eat curry but this type of curry thai curry , loved it. And oh would recommend the sticky mango rice too 🥰
I ordered through Uber Eats, so I can't speak on the service dining in, but the food is insanely good. If you're looking for authentic Thai classics with the proper ingredients, it's here. My only complaint would be that the chicken is a little dry, but the execution of everything else made up for it. I'm pretty sure they even use fresh (not dried) rice noodle. It even arrived hot and fresh!
The food was delicious - we love the cheeserolls for an appetizer and chili basil beef as an awesome entree. Getting Ona as our server is the best icing on the cake for our dinner out at Thai Cottage in The Woodlands. Thanks Ona for making our meals a delicious, perfect experience.
It's been 12 years since we've lived in this area. We came back to visit and the food is exactly how I remember it! Absolutely delicious! We keep recommending this place to all of our friends here locally! Ona is absolutely wonderful! So sweet and accommodating!
Ona was the Best waitress!! She remembers us and takes care of us every time. My husband absolutely loves the Garlic fish fillet. The chef is awesome.
Thai Cottage Woodlands is a fantastic spot for authentic Thai cuisine. The food is flavorful, well-prepared, and always served fresh. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal. What truly stands out, however, is the exceptional service. Ona is incredibly attentive, friendly, and goes above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. She is always welcoming and makes you feel at home. Her service truly elevates the experience at Thai Cottage.
My friend and I went to eat here on June 17th and we had a great experience. This was my friend's first thai food experience and he tried the panang curry with beef and loved it. The spice level was three and he added more garlic chili paste. He said the panang curry was flavored well. I had papaya salad and it was delicious. Plus our server Ona was amazing. She was funny and had sense of humor. The customer service was exceptional, so over all we had an amazing experience and will come back again!
My go to is the Pad See Ew with beef at any Thai place. This place has the best one out of the 3 spots it's the woodlands that I have been to. Good texture, beef is tender, flavorful for level 4 spicy and was great. Will definitely be back to get level 5.
Have been here a few times in person and ordered to go. Food consistency is always perfect. My favorite is the Beef Chili Basil.
It’s our go to for Thai! Barely go anywhere else! Service is fast and reliable! Always open to customization!
We always have a wonderful experience at Thai cottage woodlands. The food is amazing, and the service is consistently fantastic. Shoutout to Mali—always friendly and attentive. It’s clear they care about the customer experience, and it’s one of the reasons we keep coming back. Highly recommend!
i love this place. the food is always delicious, service is quick, and my favorite server Ona is always so friendly and makes this place special. i love their fried rice, chicken teriyaki, and mango sticky rice. i definitely recommend coming here!
Ona is amazing !! Thai cottage is our favorite place in the woodlands. Everyone here is so friendly. This is hands down the best Thai food in Texas ! We are regulars, and wouldn’t have it any other way :) If you haven’t tried it, run don’t walk !
Ona, our waiter, was excellent! The food was very good and the spice levels were right on point. We tried Tom Yum soup (nice and hot), basil fried rice (yummy) and pad kee mao. We will be back again. Try it - you regret it!
My husband and I love eating at Thai cottage the food is amazing and the service is great. We always feel very well received by Ona she is the best lovely personality. If you are looking for a Thai restaurant with great service, great food and atmosphere this is it. You must try their Thai tea.
Best Thai in the city. Great service! Staff is friendly and helpful and the food is typically prepared very quickly.
The food is always delicious here. This time we got the red curry and the tom yum soup. One of my fave Thai restaurants. Our servers Ona and Patrick were amazing!
Mali is a friendly wonderful server! We felt instantly welcomed by her warmth and knowledge. The food was delicious! The wings of paradise were recommended and I doubt I've ever had anything so delicious in my life. The yellow curry is exactly perfect! Definitely stop in and take advantage of this gem. This will be my go to comfort food restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and lovely.
Chicken chili paste is always the best! Even took an order to go!!
Ona was our server and right away, she lit up the room with her smile and nice attitude. The food was great and she made sure our cups were always full! 11/10 recommend this place.
I’ve been coming here for 10+ years. My hubs and I love the Pad Thai
I had a wonderful meal at Thai Cottage. The papaya salad, chicken on a stick, and coconut soup was delicious! My waitress was the best! Thank you Ona! You’re the best.
A very nice Thai restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. I have tried a few of the Curry dishes. They have always been wonderful.
The food was really authentic and delicious. I loved it! Also, the staff are really friendly and so polite. I also love how the design of the restaurant was, really aesthetic and cultural. Would definitely come back again!
Since moving to Texas from California, I have tried cashew chicken With almost every Thai restaurant in the Woodlands and none made me happy until tonight the taste was perfection. Exactly how I like it to be just like my favorite restaurant in California.!! 👏👏👏👏👏
The food was awesome and delicious. Our server Ms. Ona was very personable and very friendly. She was very attentive and we will request her section everytime 😀!!!
excellent food. my favorite is Duck curry and papaya salad. Ona has been making this place so special for us. she makes us feel at home every time
📍Thai Cottage @ the woodlands. Food was amazing, i really loved the pad woon see. Our server, Ona, was really nice and helpful to any questions we had about what food to order. 10/10 would recommend!!
Thai Cottage has delicious curry dishes and childrens food options. We really liked the Panang Curry with chicken and the Pineapple green curry plate with soy. The kids loved the kids noodle plate and the chicken nuggets. We highly recommend this family friendly authentic Thai restaurant and we will be back to try new dishes soon!
Best thai food in the area! Can’t go wrong. Highly recommended and am always going back. If you are looking for full flavor Thai food, you can’t beat this placeZ we’ve been going here for years and you can’t beat the consistency. The only challenge is the variation in chilli levels, if you ask for a 3 you might get a 4, but never a 2, especially when it comes to the curries, and you must try the curries, our favourite is the green curry, here is my menu suggestions; Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken Green Curry and the must Three Taste Fish Fillet!
Yes, that's your answer to "Do I want Thai tonight?". Every component of the meal had it's own individual flavor, not just borrowing from the sauce of protein. I usually order from here via #ubereats but today I decided to visit in person, worth it. Nice little venue, polite staff, and an easy atmosphere, a good date night.....now I just need a Date lol
This place is awesome I showed up there at around 8:45PM a little less than an hour before them closing and they still gave me great service. The food came out pretty dang quick and it would serve hot my waitress saved my life because I wanted to Curry at level 4 hotness but she told me that she recommend medium which was about a number 3 level hotness which was a lifesaver because I like hot stuff but even with number 3 my mouth was still burning! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and others come check it out and get the green curry!
The Pad Kee Mao was on point. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of crunch and flavor. Spice levels seem to be very conservative. I’m a spice maniac who always cranks it up to the max. I got level 4 out of 5 and it didn’t phase me. The Sticky Rice with Mango was amazing. You’ve got to get it if it’s in season.
Fast service, good food, nice selection, fair prices. We usually go at lunch since you can get a salad, spring roll, and nice lunch portion for a good price. We were so hungry I forgot to take a picture of the curry, however I usually get red curry with pork. Today I chose green curry and it is also nice and creamy. I find the pork is a little more tender than the chicken, but their curry sauces with coconut milk are all creamy smooth. For a nice treat, try a Thai iced tea.
One of my favorite restaurants. Pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and consistently great food.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Thai Cottage this past Saturday (4/19). I ordered a Thai tea, Tom kha kai soup, and roasted duck curry. The Thai tea was the best I've had in a while; TKK soup was full of chicken and mushrooms, a little more acidic than others (maybe lime juice?) but still very yummy; The duck curry was the star of the show! When ordering duck there is always a chance of a "weird" piece or some gristle but I really enjoy duck and am usually willing to take the risk of a weird piece. Every piece in the curry was great and the flavors were perfect! Would highly recommend Thai Cottage! Will definitely be back!
Good lunch specials the girl that was serving us was a sweetheart. Ask for Lilly when you eat there
Excellent promo for Valentine’s Day. Food was delicious and Lilli was very helpful and polite. Thank you .
Oh my goodness. SO GOOD. Hidden gem in The Woodlands off 242 behind Panera and Taco Bell. Had lunch today always consistently good! The service is always fast and efficient. The food can be ordered on a spice level of 1-5. I’m no spice Wus however, a 2.5 has some pretty good 🔥 heat so unless you love Uber hotness, don’t get a 5! Pad Thai. Red curry with chicken. Hot and sour soup.
I came here a couple weeks ago during my lunch hour and the service was so fast! I ordered the vegetarian pad thai they have spice heat levels 1-5 and I got the 3 and it was really spicy, which is good lol. The total for all I ordered came out to such a good price I couldn’t believe it. Def gonna come again.
Excellent service! Molly was a amazing server , she was very knowledgeable and made our dinner date amazing with her suggestions. Dinner was great, the food was amazing! I'm very happy we selected thai cottage for a celebratory dinner I was very happy with the price's and selection. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
I absolutely love this restaurant! This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. I’ve eaten at every Thai restaurant in spring and the woodlands and Thai Cottage is by far superb! The food flavor is always excellent, service is great, and price is right. Tony was my serve and he was awesome.
Food was hot and flavorful. It was easy to see that it was prepared to order. Lilli was a delight, ready to refill your beverage but not hovering over the table. We will return soon.
Delicious 😋 I’ve always loved their Pad Thai, which is what I get every time I go. Today I decided to get the green curry soup with a side of soup of the day, which was beef soup. The curry was good and the beef soup was amazing! I ordered it online and picked it up about 10 minutes later. Perfect lunch ☺️
I’ve been a regular at Thai Cottage for several years now, and it never disappoints. The staff are incredibly friendly—especially Patrick, who always greets us with a warm welcome whether we’re dining in or picking up takeout. That consistency and kindness make every visit feel special. The food? Absolutely some of the best Thai cuisine you’ll find in The Woodlands area. Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic experience! Mali was a great waiter—attentive, kind, and helpful from start to finish—making us feel genuinely welcomed; we ordered the Massaman curry, Pad Kee Mao noodles, and noodles from the kids’ menu, and every single dish was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented; the Massaman curry was rich and aromatic, the Pad Kee Mao had the perfect balance of spice and savory notes, and the kids' noodles were a big hit with our little one, which isn’t always easy to achieve; not only was the food outstanding, but the service truly elevated our visit—Mali checked in at just the right times without being intrusive, and to top it off, the manager Sarah came by our table to greet us, showing genuine interest in how we were enjoying our meal and ensuring everything was to our satisfaction, which we really appreciated as it made us feel valued as customers; it’s rare to find such a combination of amazing food and truly excellent customer service these days, and this place nailed both effortlessly; we left full, happy, and eager to return again soon; highly recommend for families, date nights, or anyone craving delicious Thai food served with care and hospitality—this restaurant truly deserves five stars! Massaman is our favorite dish. <3
The food at Thai Cottage is delicious. I absolutely love the. Double pleasure on the grill and their combo fried rice is to die for! The service is exceptional. I especially love Ona. She is kind, friendly, super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. If you like Thai food, you will love Thai Cottage!
My wife and I have only been here for lunch. She usually orders Pad Thai, slightly spicy, and I get whatever else she wants to try out. Today I got Teriyaki Chicken, which is actually a Japanese dish and not Thai. We enjoy our lunch dates here. Oma usually serves us. She's delightful. Always smiling, cheery, and great service everytime. Food is served quickly, well prepared, and delicious. It's a good regular lunchtime spot for us.
I love eating here. The food is fresh and amazing!!! The music is great but most all the service is top notch. I always look for Ona. She is nice, friendly and helpful. She remembers everything I eat and when she see me she ask me if I want the usual. I really really like eating here.
Thai Cottage truly exceeded my expectations! I visited at noon and was pleased to find plenty of parking available. The restaurant was clean and well-organized. I was greeted at the door and seated immediately with a menu. The food arrived promptly, and the service was excellent. Every dish was tasty and met my expectations for authentic Thai cuisine. I was also impressed by the easy access for wheelchairs. I highly recommend trying anything with curry – it’s simply delicious!
I called in my order for green curry and she asked me what spice level I wanted, 1-5. Of course me, not fearing anything spicy, I went for the 5! Soup of the day or salad? I chose soup, which happened to be egg drop soup. And it came with a tiny spring roll which was nice n crispy on the outside and really hot and tasty on the inside. This was my first time having green curry that I didn't make for myself at home from a recipe on the internet. I have to say, I really liked it. The flavor and texture was different from what I have made and gives me a nice comparison to recreate at home. The spice level was not quite as hot as I expected but it was still satisfying and the flavor of the coconut was amazing. The egg drop soup was also very good. Much thicker than any I've had before which was unexpected but very nice. Menu photos and prices were outdated so I'm posting their current menu as well.
Thai Cottage is a solid place for Thai takeout in the Woodlands area of Texas. The taste of both the papaya salad and tom kha soup were spot on and reminded me of the flavors I had in Thailand for the most part. I also appreciate that they adhere to the true Thai spice level ratings here. I got the medium spice level for the papaya salad in case they weren’t true to the Thai spice levels and a mild for the tom kha soup in case they did. I’m glad I was cautious because even the medium for the papaya salad was very spicy in the best way. The portion size for the papaya salad was a bit disappointing especially for the price and after seeing how the portions look like for dine in. Thai Cottage is a solid takeout place and I would order here again.
I lived previously in a city that had more Thai restaurants per capita than fast food restaurants. I love fresh Thai food, but dont live close to an establishment. I was visiting the area and came across this Thai restaurant. It was late, and about an hour before they closed. I ordered the roasted duck curry, which I’ve never had before. I’ve had Thai curry quite a bit and favor the red curry, but probably will skip the duck next time. The curry flavor was tasty though. I also got my usual go to Thai iced tea. It was good, but they are not fresh made. Just a prepackaged bottle, which I would love to source for home consumption though lol. Anyway, they were quick and the food was fresh. A little pricey, but it is The Woodlands.
Stopped in for lunch recently on my way into the city. Ordered one of the lunch specials: yellow curry with chicken & a salad. The vinaigrette salad dressing that came with my salad was delightful! The yellow curry with chicken was good, but wasn't at the overall spice & flavor level i was hoping for. Not bad...But it wouldn't be my favorite yellow curry spot. The menu also had some nice variety (the fact that they had lunch specials was great) and i saw some dishes on there i'd love to go back & try. The server was the best! Didn't catch her name but she was fun & outgoing. I'd go there just to hang out. The place had a nice atmosphere as well. Based on all points, a solid 4 from me.
Came here for dinner with a friend and really enjoyed our meal. We came the last day of Houston Restaurant Weeks so we enjoyed their dinner special. I ordered the wings, vegetable soup, green curry with shrimp and egg custard with sticky rice. Now the portions were normal size so I could not finish all the food there but everything ordered was so delicious. The wings were perfectly fried and their spicy, sticky garlic wing sauce was incredible! The vegetable soup had a great savory but light flavor. The green curry I asked for in the hottest level of spicy and I would say it would be a level 3 based on other Thai restaurants, but the flavor was good and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I hasn't had Thai custard before and it was a surprisingly sweet end to a delicious meal. Our server was very nice and check in on us throughout the meal but I will say service went from really slow to the food coming out almost back to back.
Came here for the first time last night. The service was good & quick. It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night. It was very cold in the restaurant and of course I had shorts on because it was 90° out. I felt like nothing on the menu was appealing, but I'm also not familiar with Thai food. I ended up getting the Pineapple Fried rice, which was a little spicy for "2" but it WAS ONLY between 1-5 for how spicy you want it so I do understand. The food was very good though and it was a lot too. The app we got was the cheese rolls; $6.50 for 3. I honestly didn't think it was worth it but my friend took me here for the first time and I've never had those before, ended up being good. Would I come back again? Maybe only for the fried rice.
This place is one of the best Thai restaurants around woodlands. We had lot of dishes and we liked everything. Every dish was so flavourful that it remains in your pallet for long. They have limited soups of which tom kha and tom yum were intense and filling. Entree soft veg rolls with the sauce was very tasteful. Main dishes like Pad Thai is unmissable. Egg fried rice was little hard, but with some side curry it’s good. We also ordered fish fillet with curry and rice. The fried fish were ok, but the mushroom dip with it was pungent and tasteful! Finally the deserts - the best ending with fried banana and coconut ice cream. Was unique and best experience. Definitely will visit again. Kids loved it and environment is very soothing.
Food quantity is declining every time i go there for any veggies they have started taking extra charges stopped putting mushrooms in veg fried rice just carrot n broccoli not going to soon.
The service was excellent, but the food was not as good as I had expected from reading previous reviews. It was mediocre. We ordered from the lunch menu, so I'm not sure if that was the cause of the fairly bland flavors. I say bland as in not favorable, but it was spicy enough. Bottom line, I won't be going back.
I no longer live here so when passing through I really like to eat here. My favorite placevwas the Katy location but it has closed. Times change and so has this place. No longer have the massive, fantastic spring rolls. The pad kee mao was good as always but it didn't knock my socks off. The shrimp was a little too shrimpy that made them seem less than fresh. Great atmosphere, really good service, just a little disappointed in the food this time.
There were some kind of insects on the table, under the salt and pepper. We shewed them away, but they just crawled to underside of the table. We decided not to eat there. We reported it to someone who appeared a manager on the way out. He said he would take care of it, but we saw the server laughing at us through the window as she picked up our menus from the table. Then there was an open plate of food swarming with ants in the parking lot (see photo).
Avoid This Thai Restaurant at All Costs This restaurant is an absolute disgrace. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday, and seeing more employees than customers should have made us turn around immediately. Food: Tom Yum Soup: Disgustingly lemony with massive, inedible chunks of lemongrass. Whoever decided this was a good idea clearly shouldn't be making decisions in a kitchen. Chicken Crispy Rolls: Mediocre at best, providing a fleeting moment of false hope. Chili Basil: This dish tasted like a revolting combination of bad pizza and a salt lick. The overpowering basil and extreme saltiness made it inedible, and the chicken had a bizarre, unpleasant aftertaste. Peanut Rama: An unmitigated disaster. The peanut sauce was a sickeningly sweet mix of Jif and sugar, utterly inedible. Experience and Service: An almost empty restaurant on a Friday night should have been a giant red flag. The waiter brought us the wrong soup (Tom Kha instead of Tom Yum) and then argued that it was correct until finally admitting the mistake. The corrected soup was equally horrible. The service was atrocious. We had to flag down the waiter for drink refills, which were incorrect when they finally arrived. The staff seemed more interested in wandering around aimlessly than taking care of customers. Overall, the experience was abysmal—terrible food, horrendous service, and a complete waste of time and money. In conclusion, this is the worst dining experience I've ever had. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague.
My friend and I met there for lunch. We both ordered vegetarian Pad Thai, no onion, no garlic, and no fish sauce. She also ordered veggie fry-rice for her kid with the same restrictions. The pad Thai came looking ok (not the best looking pad Thai I ever had, I would say). However, it looked darker than normal pad Thai that I had before, and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SALTY like the cook knocked the salt bottle into the dish. My friend said hers was the same. I only ate a few bites due to the saltiness. Took the rest home but throw it out afterwards due to the saltiness. On top of that, her kid’s fry rice’s flavor had extra smell that she ordered not to have (maybe from garlic or fish sauce?, we are not sure.). The worst, it also had A STRAND OF HAIR in the fry rice. Too bad she and I didn’t take the picture of the fry rice with the hair. It was so discussing. Conclude the reasons above, I will NEVER go back. 👎 A bit overpriced too.
