Serea is the perfect spot for outdoor dining with a breathtaking ocean view. 🌊 The food was just as amazing as the scenery. We started with the Grilled Octopus for an appetizer and had the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni as the main—both were absolutely delicious! 🍝🐙 There’s so much joy in having a wonderful meal with such a stunning backdrop.
Great atmosphere and even greater service makes Serea a standout seafood restaurant in Coronado area. Sure, they are pricey, however the sunset backdrop, wine and fine dining experience is few and far in between. If you are in the Coronado area, it’s not to be missed. Pro tip: Call ahead to make reservations for outside dining and check to make sure they have the freshly made Lobster rigatoni in stock!
Serea is my go-to brunch spot in Coronado, and I find myself returning time after time. The food is always fresh and full of flavor, the cocktails are spot-on, and the service is warm and welcoming. Paired with unbeatable views of the Pacific, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely brunch. For the best brunch experience in Coronado, Serea truly never disappoints!
I came to Serẽa Coastal Cuisine for my birthday dinner, and it was an amazing experience! The seaside atmosphere is so relaxing and chill—perfect for a special night out. Our server was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. He gave us great recommendations on what to try, and we decided to go all-in with the signature dishes. Honestly, not a single dish disappointed us—everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The only small downside was that the timing between courses was a little slow, but the food and overall experience more than made up for it. For a birthday celebration, it felt special and memorable. Highly recommend Serẽa for anyone looking for delicious seafood, great service, and a gorgeous seaside setting! 🌊🐟✨
Serea at Hotel Del Coronado is hands down my favorite spot in San Diego! Everything about this restaurant is exceptional, starting with the breathtaking view of the ocean. The ambiance is both cozy and stylish, making it perfect for any occasion—whether you’re celebrating something special or planning a romantic evening. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, which adds to the overall amazing experience. And the food? Absolutely top-notch! They serve the best smoked salmon in all of San Diego—it’s a must-try. I usually go for the lamb care, which are always perfectly cooked, but today I tried the pork chop, and it was just as delicious. The filet mignon is another standout; I highly recommend it to anyone dining here. The cocktails are also spectacular, expertly crafted and a perfect complement to the meal. We come here often because it’s simply the best restaurant for unforgettable moments. I can’t recommend Serea enough!
Our favorite was the mushroom risotto. Our kids ordered from the kids menu but stole our risotto. They all agreed that they will order that the next time we come! Beautiful vibe with indoor/outdoor seating. And our server, Amy, gave us great recommendations. I loved that they had some natural wines on their menu.
We had vouchers by booking with Costco Travel so we ate there 3 times. First up was brunch with shrimp and smoked polenta, oysters and the crab cake benadict which was the winner. Next up was the charcoal grilled octopus which was the by far the best the best octopus dish I’ve ever bad and the swordfish kabob that was also great. Last was brunch again with lobster benadict and green chicken chilaquiles.
Situated within view of the beach, Serea is a great place for any meal - breakfast, brunch, or dinner. I have eaten all these at Serea and enjoyed each of them. The food is delicious, with a great variety of dishes with Serea's own unique touches. And the service is first class. The Benedict choices alone are worth a visit, but they also have amazing lamb dishes. As someone who grew up loving lamb, I give high praise to Serea.

Absolutely delicious and a wonderful view! Plates were perfect size and so tasty! Definitely chef curated and with excellent flavors! Love their roasted carrots with Greek yogurt and mint daily vegetable. The service was outstanding, I was left alone to enjoy the view and my book, but waited on very attentively!!! Absolutely fantastic, highly recommend!!!
We were staying at the Del and had dinner outside on 12/30/2025 under an overcast sky. We sat at a table that was more designed for conversation and drinks with appetizers than dinner, but it was spacious and comfortable provided we didn't sit too close. Leo knew the menu well; he and his team provided friendly and unobtrusive care. My wife and I were both satisfied with the presentation, flavor, mouth feel and portion size our entrees (crusted ahi steak; zesty pasta with Maine lobster). I appreciate the commitment to sustainably harvested seafood. We had two appetizers, one cocktail and no dessert; the tab without tip was $200. The value was better than we had expected.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary sitting outside watching the ice skaters at Serea. The food was very good- the crusted tuna was our favorite. Our server was very friendly and helpful, however the service was a little slow. The prices were fairly high with our bill being north of $300 (including tip) for 2 of us ordering 2 starters, 1 entree, 1 side, 1 dessert, 2 cocktails and 1 glass of wine.

The food was absolutely delicious. While the portion of the seared tuna was scant (reason for 4 stars), the flavor was excellent. The sea bass was delicious with a more reasonable portion size. The crispy brussel sprouts were excellent and abundant. The service was attentive, but the atmosphere seemed like they were trying to shuffle people in and out. Overall, it was a very good meal.
We chose Serea to celebrate our anniversary after reading glowing reviews, especially about the seafood. As someone who truly appreciates a well executed seafood dish, I came in with high hopes.. but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. Of the 6 dishes we tried (octopus, sea bass, beet salad, seasonal vegetables, frites, and hummus—not including the crème brûlée for dessert) none stood out as exceptional. Order the octopus, it’s very tender and the best thing we had that evening. The sea bass, which I had most anticipated, was surprisingly bland. The beet salad had such an overpowering flavor profile that it was difficult to enjoy. The vegetables were entirely unmemorable. The hummus was good, and the frites were decent, but neither left a lasting impression. We also ordered a bottle of Terlato Pino Grigio, again, disappointing. Serea should select a better PG to offer guests. One highlight of the evening was the terrace seating, which offered a beautiful view overlooking the lawn and the ocean. It really added a special touch to the atmosphere and made for a lovely setting. For a meal that totaled nearly $500 with tip, the quality of the food simply didn’t justify the cost. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend Serea to friends if food is the main focus of their visit. That said, our server, Sean, was outstanding. He was warm, professional, and attentive without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. Truly A+ service, and one of the high points of the evening.
My husband took me to Serea Coastal Cuisine in Coronado to celebrate my birthday and enjoy the early holiday décor. Serea is a stunning restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere that felt undeniably romantic—perfect for a special evening. We were seated inside, and despite being near a large party, it was fairly quiet, which allowed us to enjoy our time together. We started with a variety of appetizers and sides: the Serea Mezze, patatas bravas, and the house focaccia (cranberry-infused, served with honey butter). We absolutely loved the Serea Mezze and house focaccia—the flavors were incredible, and they truly set the tone for a great start to the meal. For our entrees, we ordered the Flash-Fried Fish of the Day (served with bagna tomato conserva, peppadew peppers, and fresh lemon) and the Smoked & Seared Tuna. While the entrees were decent, they didn’t stand out as much as the appetizers. I wish our waiter had provided better guidance in helping us choose something exceptional from the menu. The romantic ambiance, however, was somewhat diminished by the service. Our waiter, Yousef (apologies if I misspelled his name), was inattentive, leaving us for long periods without checking in. Several times, I ran out of water and had to wait quite a while for someone to come and refill it. For a special occasion like a birthday, I expected more attentiveness, and unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. We ended the meal with the Cheesecake on a Shell (a cheesecake-filled chocolate conch shell with cotton cake, strawberries, yuzu pearls, lemon gel, and graham cracker crumble). It was a creative and tasty dessert, but I was a little disappointed that "Happy Birthday" wasn’t written on the plate—it would have been a thoughtful touch to round out the evening. Overall, the romantic setting and the incredible appetizers, especially the Serea Mezze and house focaccia, were fantastic. However, I’m rating this place 3 stars out of 5 because of the lackluster service from our waiter. I’d still like to return for brunch or dinner to see if the service improves, as Serea has so much potential to be a perfect date-night spot.

Food is outstanding; no problem there. It is a menu filled with delicious Mediterranean dishes. Everything is quite pricey, but understandable due to the quality and detail of the dishes. Atmosphere is nice. Super crowded, but beautifully set up. My only complaint is the sheer wait time. This is a restaurant that you have to go to expecting to spend atleast 3 hours. We had a reservation made, but still waited quite some time to get our table. It took 2 hours from the time we sat down for our main dishes to come out. I understand the need to financially prosper, but this was ridiculous. I would rather that this restaurant simply stopped accepting reservations or new guests once they reach a certain capacity. I wish I could leave 5 stars, but I have left quite disappointed.

We had dinner at Serea on Christmas night 2025. We had very high expectations and were fairly disappointed. Parking was absolutely miserable - valet was the only decent option and took over a half hour to get to after dealing with numerous angry drivers and being honked at consistently for not being willing to pull into a crosswalk. The best part of the night was our server, he was very nice and apparently has worked there over 20 years (so, he should be great!). The Octopus and Baja Kampachi were the highlights of the meal. But, the Petite Platter was TERRIBLE and SO EXPENSIVE. The oysters were not even separated from the shell... honestly very upsetting. And since that cost nearly half of the meal, we expected much higher quality. The hotel itself was pretty but WAY TOO BUSY, especially if you have children with special needs -- not hospitable. Will not be returning in this lifetime. Oh, and good luck finding a restroom! 🤣
Had high hopes for this spot but was severely disappointed. We ordered the octopus thinking it would be a decent portion of octopus for $30. It was 4 bite sized pieces and with potatoes adding most volume. Not worth the price what so ever. Whole grilled fish was sold at market price. It was the best part of the dinner but again overpriced!!! Patatas bravas: super deep fried and filled with so much aioli of some sort that you couldn't even taste the actual potato. Drinks were solid. SARAGLI dessert was awful. After being recommended by our waitress that it was super delicious we took the recommendation. We also asked for a candle to be lit to celebrate a birthday and our waitress said it couldn't be done. Didn't even make the slightest attempt to redeem us with anything else. It came to the table super hard and had no flavor at all. Ice cream ball size felt like was feeling little dolls. The ambiance is nice. That's about it. I don't mind paying good money for food but it needs to wow me. This was not the case!
Serra Coastal Cuisine was such a disappointment. After our first drink, the bartender completely ignored us for the rest of the night and even started cleaning up before closing out our tab. The service left a bad taste and ruined what should have been a nice evening. 2/10

Nice spot, good food. Worst service ever! The waiter forgot one of the plates and then the plate arrived almost half hour after the other meals… finally we asked to split the total into 4 cards and somehow the waiter decided to charge the amount of 3 parts to me, even when all my friends and I signed for individual payments. We noticed something weird and asked to the waiter and he “explained” and then made the opposite 😒. Bad experience :/.

This feedback is specific to the restaurant’s New Year’s Eve dinner. While we booked well before their menu was announced as pre fixe, we felt confident the offerings would stand up to the price tag of $195/person for food only. Unfortunately, the adults were the big losers that evening. Our entrees had clearly been sitting in a warmer for hours and tasted as if we were attending a subpar wedding. The lobster was processed and the 2 steak strips were covered in gristle and chewy. Funny enough, the kids’ 4oz steak and frites were freshly served, substantial and delicious for $45. For a dinner at this price point (excluding drinks) at an early seating before crowds got even mildly overwhelming, the meal was wildly disappointing. The server was very tenured and seemed to struggle to handle our order too. After, I tried several times to provide feedback directly to the restaurant without success; reaching someone there is exceptionally difficult. Hopefully, this is not the case for a day to day dining experience here. I suggest avoiding when the menu is pre fixe!
I honestly cannot believe how poorly this restaurant handled what was supposed to be a special family trip. I flew my wife and two teenagers from Las Vegas to Coronado for a Valentine’s / Birthday weekend. Weeks ago I made a reservation at Serea expecting a normal dinner nowhere during the booking process was it made clear that they would ONLY be serving a $165 per person fixed menu on Valentine’s Day. I found out about this not from the restaurant… but from another guest at my hotel bar at 6pm on Valentine’s Day. Imagine planning a special dinner for your family and discovering, hours before, that your kids are expected to eat a $165 tasting menu. To make it worse: • No call • No email • No text • Nothing directly communicated When I called the restaurant they claimed they “sent a message” which turned out to be buried inside OpenTable, not an actual notification any reasonable guest would ever rely on for a major change like this. Then I’m told there’s a $50 per person cancellation fee for a menu they never properly disclosed. They eventually offered to cancel but said a manager would “have to decide” if I would still be charged. So now I’m scrambling at 6pm on Valentine’s Day in a tourist town where every restaurant is booked, after flying my family here for a special occasion. This isn’t hospitality. This is bait and switch reservation management. High end pricing requires high end communication and professionalism. If you’re charging $165 per person, you don’t hide it in an OpenTable message and call that notice. Extremely disappointing experience and a ruined evening.
The valentines fixed menu was an absolute disappointment. We are returning customers and have special memories with this restauraunt, now we will never return. The fixed menu was not communicated at all before booking dinner and if me and my partner had known this prior, we would not have come. Unaware of the circumstances, we showed up and had no other choice but to just go with the flow of things and dine here anyways. Everything was good until our main course came, the New York strip steak. Me and my partner ordered medium and medium rare. We were handed blue and rare steaks. I have never in my experience of dining ESPECIALLY at a high end restauraunt had to send back food. But I did politely, because for a $500 dining experience, my steak better be cooked perfectly to my liking the first time. It was not until our server shared with me that upon asking the chef to cook my steak more, that he gave it back to her still raw and she was waiting for him to cook it more that I had an issue. I don’t know why she chose to share this information with me but I’m glad she did. The chef at this restaurant cooks the food to HIS liking, not yours. And throws fits when you ask him to make it how YOU ORDERED. Again, we paid $500 FOR THIS MEAL. Cook the steak on your menu to the customers liking, because remember, that’s actually your job chef of Serra. You tainted our Valentine’s Day heavily. We will never forget, and we will never ever be back.

BEWARE ... what a disappointment... the lobster bisque was awful loaded with cumin and flour! The swordfish was tasty although the size of a deck of cards! Even the dessert was bad their hazelnut chocolate cake definitely came from Vons bakery. Would not recommend and would never return. There's too many other good restaurants in San Diego.
