I've been going to the Surf Club for many years & it is just as good as it's always been. The food is yummy & I love the wide selection of alcohol they offer! This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. We were a party of 4, with 2 kids. We walked into a very crowded restaurant that looked like it was a happy hour hang out. I considered turning around, but wait! We went off to the left and found a separate area that was very family friendly! The food was delicious, we enjoyed a burger, Caesar chicken salad, Philly cheese steak, and a fish basket. All the food was hot, tasty and a good size portion. I would go back with the kids, but I think I'd enjoy going as a couple as the atmosphere in that area was great. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food.

I enjoy there because of the whole surfer theme they have. One of the last times I was there I got the chicken chalupas though the beans tasted dried out but they were still good. The fried mushrooms were awesome.

First time here. Loved the fish tacos and drinks!! Prices are unbeatable and they are PET FRIENDLY!!! My family and I absolutely fell in love with this place!!! Will definitely be coming back soon!!!

Great comfortable place, food is good . Loved the ambiance, they had lived music in the evening on the outside patio. Had a burger, shoestring fries and a cheesecake xango delight, it's a cheesecake burrito that's fried and bathed in cinnamon sugar and they accompany it with some ice cream, that was Soo yummy 😋🤤.

After years of good experiences here, I had an unusually bad experience that seemed inconsistent with the level of care and customer experience-forward service that Water St. restaurants have provided in the past. When I brought it up with them, they went above and beyond to assure me that nothing like that would happen again and that they genuinely valued my business and my personal connection to their restaurants. These folks believe in doing good business and looking out for locals

Fun place to get some good food. We stopped on a cool weather day and ate inside but the outdoor seating looked nice. My kids are already asking to return.

I really like the atmosphere of this place. It has a great outdoors section that, at times, has live entertainment. The staff is also very friendly. Their regular fries are skinny and the onion rings are the thick kind. It looks like a homemade batter. Here I recommend the burgers, wraps and shrimp.

A very cool and affordable casual restaurant and music venue. They have a good selection of draft beers, and simple, but effective handmade foods. We had some good blackened shrimp tacos and a chicken wrap. The fries and onion rings are all hand cut/dipped which shows they care about quality. Overall, it was a place with great vibes, atmosphere, and quick bites that are hard to beat at their price point. Keep it up guys!

First time to the Executive Surf Club in Corpus Christi and had a great time! I happened to go on pint night which meant the pints of beer were only a few dollars which made for a fun night! There was a live band called Indiglow who played great tunes and put on a great show. Talked to some locals who have been going to the Surf Club for many years and said nothing but great things about the place and I couldn’t agree more. The crowd had a great vibe and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Great place to visit to chill and enjoy some live music in CC!

Executive surf club is a staple and downtown Corpus Christi, Texas. They have one of my favorite burgers in the entire city and they're being in cheese. Nachos are really good as well. They frequently have live music and it is a fun place to go on the weekends for sure.

Went to celebrate a friends birthday at 530pm on Friday 09/13. There was a small crowd. Nice vibe. I had the shrimp wrap and nachos with beef and chicken. Added the sour cream and guacamole. The shrimp wrap was delish!!! Had a homemade ranch dressing that was tasty. The nachos were very good !! Was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Someone with our party said the Burger was good as well.

Love the atmosphere. Rachel the manager has really turned it around to an awesome place. All the staff is very friendly and the food is 100% always on point.

If you’re looking for something local with a chill vibe, I’d recommend this place. The staff was amazingly nice. Our food took a bit long but they apologized and I was enjoying the atmosphere so much, I did not mind the wait. When the food came out, everything was good. It wasn’t very busy at the time and they had live music going, so it felt like we had this cool spot to ourselves.

Ordered a burger for me and my wife, it came out raw. I took it back to the kitchen to be redone. The manager came out and apologized and assured us it would come out correct. It did in a matter of minutes and they both were great. The manager brought it out himself and once we were happy he returned with a gift certificate for our next meal that was more than our order. Great service.

My husband and I had an amazing experience at the Executive Surf Club thanks to Leo, the manager. He went above and beyond in a way that truly impressed us. After we placed our food order, Leo personally came over to let us know that what we had received didn’t meet their usual standards—it looked more burnt and darker than expected. Without us even saying a word, he offered to replace it with something better, he gave us detailed options and I ended up choosing the Baja tacos (see photo attached). It’s rare to see that level of attention to detail and genuine care for the customer experience. Leo caught the issue before it even became an issue and handled it with such professionalism and kindness. That kind of proactive service really sets a place apart. We left feeling valued and well taken care of. Thank you, Leo. Additionally the atmosphere is always great and all the staff is always so kind every time we go.

We have been visiting since as long as I can remember. I live in SETX but have had family in CC since 1989, and has always been a "go-to". The parking lot is small but considering the location, that's not to surprising. The aesthetic of the restaurant is so good - it's a lot of just about everything and I love sitting at the surf board tables. You walk up to the counter and order your food, grab your drinks and have a seat. The burgers are big and juicy, the fries are thin and crunchy - it's all great. This place is perfectly located and has a really great atmospheric! They a lot of times have like music, always have good beer selection. There are a couple of dishes that they make that I enjoy, the beef nachos are really good. And so are the chicken quesadillas. Most of the other things I've had there I haven't been a fan of but I know plenty of people who are. The staff is not super helpful, or super friendly, but for the most part they get the job done. I do wish the bar staff was a bit more friendly, they get really busy and I feel like they get more caught up on being fast and friendly. And I think it's nice to have a combination of the two.

This is a large place. It has areas to create different atmospheres in same location. There's a large area outside with a stage where live music is played. Another courtyard where the music can be heard, but it's more quite and comfortable. A couple of different indoor locations for dinner. We had drinks outside while listening to the band playing. We didn't have any food but our friend raved about the fish tacos.

It’s a fun place to hang out in the evening. They have great craft beer selections and a full bar. They have a decent amount of food choices, but the food is mediocre. Burgers are dry and the fish tacos are just average. The best part about this place is the live music and open mic nights on the patio they have on most nights of the week – I can’t stress the open mic nights enough – they are very fun! Grab your table when you walk in, and then order at the bar or the food counter. They give you a number and then bring your food to the table. You’ll need to park on the street or in someone else’s lot, but it’s usually not a problem. Go for the environment and drinks, but skip the food.

Highly recommend here to stop in for a drink, watch a live band or in for lunch. ESC, is what Corpus Christi is all about. Good bar service, atmosphere, food, and most of all drinks! I've been coming her for over 20 years and it's always a must stop when I visit Corpus Christi.

Wife and I thought the atmosphere was really nice they are pet friendly and have a really nice theme here. The beer selection was nice and extensive and the food was pretty good, the service system here seems a little messy but it was a nice place either way.

I headed out for food somewhere on Water St. and was drawn in by some live music. Turns out it was coming from the Executive Surf Club. I ordered their blackened shrimp tacos, and seriously, they were the best I've ever had. It was 32 degrees outside but the heaters on the patio made all the difference. Has to be a great atmosphere on a warmer night.

Went here on a friend's recommendation, and I enjoyed my meal. Very casual, laid-back atmosphere. Order as you enter and seat yourself. I had the fish & chips and a tossed salad. The fish was really light, crispy, and flavorful! I was disappointed with the shoestring fries as the "chips." Not bad. I just have never been a fan. Expected thicker cut fries. 🤷‍♂️ The tossed salad was great, nicely sized, with the manager recommended walnut dressing. I saw most people ordering burgers... maybe next time!

The salad lettuce had seen better days (like yesterday was probably beautiful and crisp), but my extremely picky son loved his chicken strips and french fries and even the toast. And I got the truly happy-hour price on a full pint of draft beer (at $2.25!)....all in all, had a GREAT TIME! Plus, my 16yr old boy, had his first taste at graffiti, as you are allowed to put your name on the wall (not that he would do it, mind you, *chicken!*, but i put us all on the wall, forever memorialized for him). It was the perfect way to end a great late afternoon downtown! ( come to think of it, it was his 1st time doing that as well!! )

This was our second time eating here and we enjoyed the food and service both times. The big turnoff for me is the dirty look of everything. The bussers did a great job cleaning tables, it is just the generally old, worn down, dirty appearance of everything. The patio even had puddles of water under some tables so it was hard to find a place that looked clean and comfortable to sit.

Next is the bar, with a classic full scale grand design taking advantage of the very high ceilings typical in mature downtown architecture. It has a cozy feel, with many tables for socializing & dining. Depending upon how you enter, the first space feels like a downtown Cafe, with a service counter at which to order typical bar & grill food, which is delivered to your table when ready in either of the three spaces. This segmentation is rather typical in downtown locations where a business has grown and assimilated the adjacent building. It helps provide a sense of separation and charm, rather than that of one huge warehouse space built to house a huge crowd. The menu is large, but the main focus is on the bar and performace space. I had the Southwest Burger. The flavor was good but the bun was ice cold, and the onion rings were dried out perhaps from an extended heat lamp session.

This is one of our favorite stops in Corpus. Good quick bar food ( self service) and live music. It's a casual fun atmosphere and I have found that the bartenders and staff are always friendly.

The name did not match the atmosphere so it was a little disappointing. It's a basic bar scene... so if that's what your going for, I'm sure it's great. We were going for dinner and live music. It was overly crowded and we couldn't find a seat. I wasn't in the mood to eat standing. We ended up going to a restaurant in walking distance.

Not personally my cup of tea we came for a team event. You seat yourself and have to go to bar to place an order so there's not much actual service going on but it's decent overall. Fair pricing, my team loved the food, and they have bands and different stage performances every night.

You walk up to a station to place your order then find a table. Drinks are ordered separately at the bar. A mistake had been made in the kitchen and both the unsweetened tea urn and sweet tea urn contained sweet tea. I had wanted unsweetened tea. When we pointed the mix up out to one of the workers they carried the container to the back and never returned with another container or came back to our table with more information. When we got up and asked about it we were told that they wouldn’t be making more because they closed in an hour. At that point we asked for a water and a refund for the tea we purchased. The worker said she would check with the manager. We continued to eat our meal. We noticed discussions between the manager and various employees including the worker we spoke with and the cashier who took our order. The cashier appeared to be working on a refund and calling someone for assistance as she typed on the computer screen. There was zero communication with us. We finished our meal. Cleaned our table and stopped at the cashier stand to inquire about the refund on our way out. The cashier appeared completely unaware. She had to pull up our order, get the manager to type in an approval, and then informed us we would see on our credit card charge that our billed amount would be less than originally charged by the amount of the tea. The entire time there was no apology, some attitude and it was clear that they thought we should have just let it go. We were only in town for the one night but I doubt this is the first place we would return to in the future. It’s unfortunate because the live music coming from the back room sounded amazing and it would have been great to stick around and enjoy our evening.

Awesome atmosphere. We sat outside on this day and lucky for the CC breeze otherwise that darn humidity would have killed us. Would have given higher marks but the beer was warm and the food is typical.

Beautiful setting! But that luster went away when I walked in. I was looked at like I was supposed to know what to do when asked if we sit down ourselves or what. She looked up from her phone and directed us to the bar to order. So you have no clue walking in what to do. The bar tender acted completely annoyed and rolled his eyes when I said I didn’t want alcohol just was told to order food. Then our food just came out, literally thrown on the table there’s fries everywhere lol. The server ran off back to the kitchen. I’m not coming back. Food was good but I’ll go elsewhere for fish and chips. Very disappointed.

Finally got a chance to try the surf club and enjoy some live music but we're pretty let down. We got the fish and chips, a chicken wrap and their honey Chipotle wings. The saving grace was the wings which were really good. Everything else was mediocre at best. The vibe is definitely cool, aside from some folk who had a little too much to drink we had a good time.

Food has always been good and drinks are good. My problem was with the amount of flies. I couldn’t keep them off my food and drinks. I spent the whole time shoeing them away and gave up halfway through my meal. Do something about this and I will be happy to remove my review and return.

I ordered a fish wrap. Soggy fish sticks couldn’t be saved by the fried pickles I also ordered. The only thing I tasted were red onions and iceberg lettuce. The hard string French fries were undesirable.

Fish and Chips were not good. Fish was battered like giant fish sticks and the fries were standard, boring shoestring. Atmosphere was okay, however the restaurant next door looked like it was having more fun than this place.

There's 1 piece of grilled mushroom on my Philly cheese steak and the girl at the counter says it counts for my charge of $1.09, about 4 small pieces of bell pepper for my charge of $0.59 and a little more than the bell peppers in quantity for my charge of $0.59 of grilled onions. Meat in the Philly was sadly lacking also. I guess hard times at the surf club...

We’ve eaten here before and the food was great, but today was a major letdown. I ordered the Veggie Burger, and it tasted like a frozen patty that had been microwaved and tossed onto a bun. The French fries were unseasoned and completely cold when our food baskets arrived to the table. The Chicken Chalupa was also cold, and the chicken had zero flavor. But the most concerning part of our visit was the lack of basic hygiene behind the inside bar. We watched the bartender leave the bar to pet a customer’s puppy (adorable puppy, to be fair), then directly return to the bar to continue making drinks without washing her hands. We also observed the bartender wipe her nose on her shirt, handle cash and credit cards with bare hands, and then reach directly into the lime bucket while preparing customer drinks. GROSS! This is very unsanitary and honestly overshadowed the entire meal. We will not be going back.

Nearly no vegan food, and I was not served a beer with my chips and (3 chips worth of) guac that was $5 and change because I had a temporary ID. I'm 38. I don't even get carded most places, and I have a valid government issued ID but was told it's policy to not accept temporary IDs. Pretty rude bartender. The guy who took my food order was very nice, though. Also, bugs on the bar.

I ordered to go because I was t9ld how good the fish sandwich was. So I ordered a fish sandwich combo (fries) and extra side of onion rings. I got a shrimp sandwich which was just some popcorn looking shrimp tomato and lettuce no sauce nothing and a order of onion ring.. no fries .. I guess i should've checked but either way it was completely wrong.

Problem with an odor in the restaurant. Smells like urine or locker room. Look at the floor behind the bar. Food was bland.The ceiling air filter is dirty. This place needs to close for deep cleaning.

Blonde girl at the bar is rude and does not know how to take a simple order. I asked for the flavors of the seltzers and was met with an attitude because she had to look. I made the comment that flavor matters and the gentleman next to me commented, “Yeah it does”! I told her the flavor and asked her to put tajin and she looked me in the eye and said okay. She gave my husband the drink with nothing, so he handed it back and told her again. She proceeded to put lime and make faces touching all over the area where I am supposed to lick the tajin off of because now the can is open and she cannot figure out how to put it on. I was disgusted and told him to tell her to just put the tajin in a small cup. He did and she proceeded to pour the drink into a glass instead of the tajin as asked. LOL I can’t make this up! As that point, I showed my husband my dismay and went to the outside area before I said something not so nice. I came back in for another drink and decided on wine this time. She is standing next to the cabinet that holds the glasses and she tells the guy standing there something. He hands her a glass and it is filthy. Once I got outside, I poured the drink into a clean glass my friend had. I know for a fact she intentionally handed me a dirty glass. The two other girls with me had glasses that were clean. I almost got up and made her change it out and provide a new drink. It is okay if you are new and make mistakes. The attitude is what got me as well as the ill intentions. It would have been okay if she had not thrown all that attitude because all that did was make it worse. I am an understanding person, but you don’t work in a field where you serve people and get upset because you have to do your job. I used to be a server and never threw customers attitude no matter how bad. Most cases it paid off because they tipped me well. She needs better training.

Wow! The Surf Club has changed since I last visited (almost 20 yrs!). I remember great FRESH burgers w/ big patties the size of the bun, good fries, and plenty of beer! The burger patty was perfectly round with edges, which made me picture it being grabbed out of a box of frozen prefab meat pucks, and it literally occupied the middle 50% of the buns. Half the space between the overhanging buns! Looked ridiculous. The fries were thin, cold, and harder to grab than normal fries. Wanted a couple mugs of a very common beer, Guinness, from the bar tap but they were out. To top it off, we sat outside to enjoy the weather but were driven back indoors because of the pervasive stink of old beer and clouds of enormous flies. Inside, the tables were so crammed together that you could barely sit down or hear each other over the din of surrounding conversations. This was not a good experience! The excuse given was their previous nights band playing on the patio?? Hey! It doesn't take much effort to empty the patio trash, wash all the old beer of the outdoor patio, and plan your beer inventory accordingly when having a big function. Business 101! Will not be going back and honestly cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone at this time.

Never have I had a taco from a place that served tortillas raw. Cooked (or at least steamed) tortillas should never crack but having ordered the Baja shrimp and fish tacos, all tortillas were dry and brittle. At least the shrimp and sauce was flavorful. Also ordered a side of hand battered fries. Worst fries I’ve ever had. Despite looking crunchy, they were soggy and flavorless. Please be advised that salt is optional here. Go with the shoestring fries. Definitely feels like a tourist trap.
