If you want to try something new, this is the place to go! The staff were polite and broke down the menu for us. I cannot handle too much spice while the rest of my dinner party loved spice. Our waitress checked on us often to ensure we were happy with the dishes she recommended to us. We will be back. We've been looking for a new place to go and we have found it. Cannot wait to come back and try something new!

Definitely found our favorite Indian food on the Coastal Bend! Spacious, updated space, full bar, large dining room, GIANT menu to choose from - a struggle for us! We went with Laccha Paratha and Butter Roti breads to start, both buttery yummy. My Chettinadu Lamb was savory excellence with nice kick (mediumish) without adding spice. Her Goat Korma also outstanding and our Palak Paneer was loaded with chunks and creamy with nice kick too. Also a boatload of rice to share! Plenty leftovers for later! Was dubious about service as it took a while to get drinks, but then we realized the servers are familiar with the entire GIANT menu and offer suggestions to everyone, so worth the wait…plus, more time to study the GIANT menu! Great dining experience. No lunch specials and they close midafternoon, so a quick cheap lunch may not be an option, but Persis is definitely worth the time and money!

Came here hungry - Got the Chicken Lollipops, spicy and tender; almost a meal for one - The Kadai Goat, also super tender and perfectly seasoned with Good Portions.. The atmosphere was nice and calm upscale yet understated. Dressed casual and didn't feel out of place. Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and portions.

The food here was phenomenal! Some of the best Indian food I've tried! I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean and a nice atmosphere. They served large portions of food and we took leftovers home. We tried several things but our favorites were the Persis Special Chicken Biryrani and garlic naan. Our waitress, Vyshnavi and she was very kind and helpful! Side note: My one VERY small complaint is that the cloth napkins were laundered in a strong detergent that was a bit off putting while eating, next time I'll request paper napkins if they have them available.

My (Pakistani) husband and I came here for dinner and enjoyed it. Personally, I absolutely LOVED the food. We had the dosa chaat, palak (saag) paneer, garlic and butter naan, goat korma, and rasmali for dessert. My husband wasn’t too impressed with the food. He said it was just okay, nothing special. I personally LOVED everything and thought it was delicious. Service was good and servers were friendly. My only con is that the food is objectively extremely over priced. The goat korma was $20 and had barely any meat in it, it was mostly bones. The two tiny milk curd patties in the rasmalai for $7 was kinda crazy. Our food also came out a bit cold.

I had a great experience at this place. This is my second time coming here, and I truly enjoyed it again. The Paneer Tandoori is really good, and the Persis Chicken Biryani was amazing, highly recommend it, as suggested by waitress. The portion size of the biryani is way more than one person can eat, at least for me 😊 You’ll definitely want to get a to-go box for the leftovers. The waitress is very welcoming, speaks exactly what is needed, and has a calm, composed, and friendly smile, which makes the experience even better. This is a very good Indian restaurant offering authentic Indian varieties with great quality and taste, without any compromise. Even though there aren’t many Indian people living in this area, the restaurant is doing an excellent job attracting everyone, not just Indians. Hats off to the team for that. I travel all around the US, and I would love to come back again and will surely recommend it to others. Also, don’t miss the masala chai, it’s so good!

It was 2025 Christmas day when we visited as handful of the restaurants were open. My main concern about the rating is they put 3% card charge on my bill. Who does that now a days when you're a sit down restaurant. Also the seat wasn't comfortable as all booths were taken. I expect nice comfortable seating if I'm paying top dollar for it. Flavor of food was okay. Didn't find dal makhni flavorful. Paneer and biryani was good. Might not visit again unless there's no other option to eat anywhere else.

Friends and I came here. My first time at an Indian food place, but have a friend who is Indian. We’re not impressed and everything tasted off. The service took a long time. Took an hour for the appetizer to come out and linger for the entrees. Very disappointed. I also had to kill a bug on the floor, so a bit unclean. Hate to rate things so poorly.

I am vegan and its hard to find good tasting vegan dishes. This was my 1st time to this restaurant. The waitress was not honest with me when I asked if "paneer" was a type of cheese - she immediately said... "no its tofu"! I ordered it - and ate it - I knew something was very different about this "tofu"! I later dicovered - its NOT tofu - it is a type of cheese! Lucky for her I do not have an allergy to cheese products! Why LIE to your customers? Just be honest. What else are you lying about on your menu? Is the lamb really lamb - or some other meat substitute? That is not okay! I thought I would go back - but that was very dishonest. The one good thing was that the manager was very accommodating in making our dishes less spicy to our desired taste.

I visited this restaurant yesterday hoping for a good experience, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered the special chicken biryani, but it was very dry and lacked flavor. It didn’t taste fresh or well-prepared. I also ordered Afghani naan, but what I received was something completely different. When I asked the staff about it, they insisted it was Afghani naan, but I know it wasn’t. It felt misleading and dishonest. Overall, the food did not meet expectations, and the service was not helpful. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

Very far from authentic Indian food. Food was very bland and lacked any flavor. The waitress was not very helpful as well. For apps, we ordered the pepper chicken which was more like a curry than an appetizer. For entree, we got the chettinad chicken with butter naan. The chettinad chicken tasted almost the same as pepper chicken. Both the curries were drenched in oil. The naans were decent. Would not come here again

The food was clearly not fresh and definitely not prepared today. The chicken pieces were dark and overly reheated, which made the poor quality very obvious. When I brought this up to the waitress, she said she would inform the chef but completely ignored us afterward and never returned. Extremely disappointing experience with both food quality and customer service.
