Last February, I walk in having never been here before. I must look lost gazing at the menu as the guy behind the counter says slowly and inquisitively "Can I help you?". I say, "I've never been here before, that's a lot of choices. What do you suggest?" He looks at me with a serious look on his face and says, "Do you like..." and proceeds to list off a handful of ingredients, to which I say, "Yes" to all. He then says with utmost confidence, "I'm gonna make you a sandwich." That was it, he went to work until over the speaker I hear loudly "YO, IAN!". I picked up my order from the counter, sat down, and YO!... GAME OVER!! This sandwich is no joke. After I finished this incredible creation. I asked him what it was called and he said, "The Beast Special" To which I replied, "The irony is not lost on me, that I had to come this far south to get a Philly that good." He smiled, I asked his name, introduced myself, thanked him, and left. Fast forward to last September, and I haven't forgotten about The Beast Special. And better yet, I'm back in town, this time with a co-worker in tow. I tell him about TBS (the sandwich, not the channel), the guy named Marcello who made it, and we decide to go check it out. We walk in and though it's been months and I see new faces constantly due to my job, I'm pretty sure it's Marcello behind the counter, and now I'm extra jazzed as it might be the guy who made this sandwich good and proper last time. We walk up, I start reminding him of last February (not that I expect him to remember me) and because I'm still not 100% on if it's him or not I drop the name Marcello during my anecdote. To which he asks, "Do you mean Carmelo?". Face meet palm. Co-worker even quipped "You even went in real confident on that one!" We all have a nice chuckle at my moment of social awkwardness, and thankfully, he was super cool about it and proceeded to knock two TBS's out of the park for us. I will definitely return if given the opportunity, and will do my best to keep the names straight. Absolutely worth it. Even the awkwardness. p.s. Now watch, Carmelo will read this and say, "Eh thanks, but you spelled my name wrong." 'Sir' Ian

Love everything about this place. This was my first time trying “Yo Philly”. The food is amazing. Never been to Philly, but I honestly can say I had an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The staff is friendly and amazing. Big shout out to the owner, super awesome guy. He welcomed us, and even helped us out with the menu. We had one Dallas Cowboy fan in our party, so it was nice to see them go back-and-forth talking sports and a little team bashing, but all love in the end. Overall, It’s an amazing place, the atmosphere is breathtaking with all the sports memorabilia, and I will definitely be a returning customer after today.

Probably one of the best places to eat in all of Portland. Their reviews speak for themselves. Place is very clean and well decorated. Just be careful when digging in because everything is made fresh and super hot. Pricing is pretty average and I dont mind spending roughly 15 per person for such great food. Portions are also huge, could easily take some home and make another meal out of it. The place never really seems busy, I really hope they stay here for years to come.

This was our first time and the owner was there. I asked him to make me what they’re famous for however he thinks it should be made and it was so delicious. Their Philly cheesecake sandwich was the perfect ratio of meat, veggies cheese and bread. I have never had mushrooms on one before or mayo and both were so good! The service was great and the atmosphere fun! For me it’s totally worth the trip over the bridge to eat here!

Went to this restaurant for takeout... excellent reviews! It's definitely worth the trip! You immediately sense they are "on top of their game" because the service was excellent! We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak w/ fries, Italian Sausage w/ onion rings, and we had to have an order of the canolis!!!!! Everything was great! Worth 5 stars!!! Keep up the great work! ❤️

Was actually on my way to Whataburger when I saw the sign for Yo. My family and I decided to be adventurous and try a new place. Was not disappointed. Super friendly service, food came out pretty quick. Loved the decor and sports memorabilia that was displayed. It was definitely a trip down memory lane. The food was super good. 2 thumbs up.

This South Jersey girl couldn’t be happier! The owners are SO friendly and the service is phenomenal! I love that they’re so personable, checking in on you and taking the time to remember your name so that when they’re talking to you, it’s an actual conversation among friends, not a business owner and customer. They understand the importance of actual customer service. My husband, a Texas native, and I literally spent a solid 10 minutes just talking to the owner and his wife and son. They took that time to really spend it with us and that matters! The atmosphere takes me back home and I can’t say enough about it! But the food….. oh the food. It was phenomenal. The Jersey Steak was perfection. My husband LOVED the pizza… the homemade sauce is seasoned perfectly. The Jack Steak Burger…. So good! The Italian Hoagie… the fries, the onion rings…. Everything was PERFECT!!!! 10 out 10 HIGHLY recommend this place. Nick and Blanca keep up the great work! We’ll be back every time we visit Port A!!!

Drove down on a whim. I'm not a local but, I like to chase down good food. Yo philly didn't disappoint. If I heard right the owns a philly native and did well to capture the flavors and vibe of oh llt and the live of community inside the restaurant. As for the food again it's not just an attempt to be an imitation of the genos or pats recipes. No they do YO Philly and they do it very well. I had the philly combo and I broke the usual rules adding pepper mushrooms and onions on their version of a cheese wit. Which have prov and whiz. That said the normally over look hard roll was perfect. Solid hard stands up to the generous filling with a great chew. Onion rings were cooked perfectly battered and sweet slightly buttery. I also got the parm sub. The sauce was full of flavor and while not breaded it was still very good , chopped chicken and good amount of cheese and topped with grated Parmesan. Only thing that would make it better is some mozzarella sticks in the sun but, I'm a big back. The folks working were very friendly and helpful. Have to come back to try the other subs.

This place is not worth the time, unflavored, and way overpriced. $50 for 3 meat and cheeses sandwiches is insane. Whataburger taste better, will not spend the money here again.
