We only been at the Bar and had a Marguerita on the rocks, which was delicious. All the staff is very nice. The chip dip is delicious. Only one thing we didn't like was that the place is a little too dark for a restaurant. We will be back to try the food.

Stopped in for dinner while driving home from Waco. Service was very prompt and our server was attentive throughout. Immediately brought chips, salsa, and their trademark “orange dip”. Wife had the tortilla soup and loved it; I had the Tres Amigos (3 enchiladas) and it was very good also. Margarita (frozen) was good; came with a slice of peach instead of lime!

We have gone here for years now. Usually the food and service was great but the last gone we went the waiter was terrible. He came to our table twice...once to take our order and another to bring our food. The food order was wrong. It took its 5-10 minutes to get his attention to correct the mistake and even after that I had to go to the bar and get our own drinks.. Update: We went there today for lunch with our son and our was great! Great service and food and atmosphere! I ranked them up from a 3 star to a 5.

Took the family to eat on a Saturday evening. They were quite busy but able to seat 7 in about 20 minutes. Staff was friendly and service was good for such a crowd. The orange sauce they serve with chips is delicious and the salsa is actually spicy! Nearly everyone loved their food. I had nachos and they might have been the best I've ever had!

The food was delicious not over salted and I recommend the beef fajitas. The salsa isn't regular salsa but is orange sauce. I was totally surprised by how delicious that was. When you get the menu read the back it has history about the orange sauce. The waitress was kind helpful and was serving 3 tables at once and kept the food coming as soon as chips and dip was finished the food was delivered. The only thing was the wait to get a table they set us up and it took 35 min to get a table due to how busy they were, But it was so worth it and the prices were very reasonable.

Omg! This place was really really good. My kids took me there for Mother's Day weekend. Our server was great. She was really busy, and at times we had to wait longer for her to attend to us, but it was busy. She was very nice and pleasant in serving us nevertheless. The food was awesome, from the dip and chip starters to our entree. Things were hot and well seasoned. Portion sizes were good! I would definitely go back being I'm a resident. The food is delicious and my friend introduced me to the fajita nachos. Soooo good! I get the chicken fajita nachos and my friend gets the chicken and beef fajita combo nacho and she says they have the best margaritas in town. I get full on a half order of the fajita nachos. They are famous for this orange dip that they make it is delicious and they also have great salsa. They sell jars of the orange dip and the salsa as well. Sometimes if I have a potluck to go to where I have to bring something, I stop by there and purchase 2 jars of the orange dip and 2 jars of the salsa.

Like so many others, we love the orange dip that comes with the chips & salsa. And I especially love the chicken enchiladas with the OMI sauce topping, as they have spices and onions (and other good stuff) inside- as opposed to most Tex-Mex places that just give you dry shredded chicken rolled up in a tortilla. Yum. Service is usually very good here also.

Food Review: Worth the Trip! On our journey from Dallas to Houston, we stopped at Old Mexican Inn, and it was absolutely worth it! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-notch—our attendant was attentive and friendly. The food? Excellent. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. From presentation to taste, the quality was outstanding. I did not like my Taco was on the College plate because it was soggy, they replaced it immediately. This spot is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

My family has been coming here for 40+ years and I don’t think anything has changed—nor should it, because it's unimpeachable homestyle Tex-Mex. Enchiladas are the standout, with amazing refritos (I've never had them as good as this anywhere else) and, always, a black olive on top. Margarita prices are reasonable; flautas and chimichangas are crisp perfection. And make sure you try the secret-recipe orange sauce on your tortilla chips as an appetizer.

I tried this place solely off of the positive reviews and I was NOT disappointed. The food here is fantastic and very reasonably priced (~$9.00 a person). I also thought it was pretty cool that they brought your drink to you in a glass Coke bottle along with a glass of ice. The servers are a perfect balance of attentive without being overwhelming. The restaurant is small-ish but very intimate -- perfect for a first date, in my opinion. Just an all-around great first experience. I will DEFINITELY be bringing my family here in the future.

We have eaten here a few times now, meeting family from Dallas and we're from Houston. The food is always delightful; the atmosphere inside is fun; and the service is great! Even if you ask for a menu item to be altered a little bit, they always accommodate you and take care of your wants/needs. The special house red sauce with chips is amazing! I like the combo meals, like enchiladas with tacos, and the food always comes out hot and fresh. The refried beans are so yummy. We've come in there with a party of 5 and didny have to wait long at all to be seated and served. They serve you a real glass bottle of Dr. Pepper. Family-owned business that has been around since the 40s, so it has its historical value in the Corsicana community.

I can't tell you the first time I ate here because I am sure I was too young to remember. I have eaten here many times since but not for many years. It is still as good as I remember and well worth the 30 min wait. Chips and nice spicy salsa upon seating. Jalapeno margaritas were incredible and not sweet (so real margaritas). Lunch portions are large but not giant. You will not be disappointed with this stop as long as you are patient with potential wait times.

Just visited this place on the way back from Grand Prairie Premium Outlets and I definitely recommend. I had to wait 20 minutes for a table but definitely worth it. We purchased some margaritas while we waited for our table and they were delicious. I tried the Jimmy’s Ranchero chicken and it was so delicious. My husband had the Deluxe Platter and it was more than he expected. If you’re in the area check this place out you will not be disappointed.

Was hoping for a little more but in a quick pinch it's a good place to stop for some tex-mex. It was around 2 in the afternoon and it seemed fairly busy but I'm thinking this is why the service seemed a bit slow. Had to remind the waitress that we were ready for our check. It took longer than getting out order. Might need to try again but for now I might find something else.

Corsicana seems to be blessed with some very good locally owned Mexican Restaurants. Came because I recall eating here some 20 years ago and the orange sauce caught my attention. I suspect I have learned a lot about cooking since then. Seems like an aioli sauce with garlic some smoked paprika and a pinch of chipotle chili powder. Could be some adobo sauce and mayo. They were a little busy but service seemed a little slow. The refried beans looked like they spent too much time under the heat lamp. I stirred them a little before taking the picture. The food was tasty. Wife said the cream sauce on here sour cream enchiladas did not taste quite like sour cream. I told her it was more authentic and likely Mexican style Crema. I tasted it and it was good. When we get back to Corsicana I would like to to La Pradera Mexican. Food is as good or better Plus the dining room is bright and open.

I’ll give it four stars since this restaurant is in a small town and the choices for non fast food are slim. I’m from Southern California, where there is real Mexican food damn near at every off ramp and great sit down restaurants every other block. Did this place compare to other restaurants I visit throughout the 48 states I travel? It does very well compared to many. This place was clean and there was more than enough staff to cover the customers in a timely manner. The prices seemed reasonable and the food I ate was flavorful, presented well and the margarita I had was great! The waitresses I encountered seemed nice and the customers interaction demonstrated that there are many regulars or - that the town is small enough that - everyone knows everyone. I come here for business once in a while and this place was recommended to me by people I come across. I would come back again without question.

Two stars plus one star for nostalgia. Food was overall greasy. My sister got spinach enchiladas and had trouble finding any spinach. I got College special and it was ok, but kinda greasy beef. Have been here as a kid, back when it was only one room. Iced Tea was excellent and the service was good. They need to tweak the food a few notches up and maybe they could last another generation.

We've been here twice.. the most recent was Thursday, 1 Aug and it is what triggered me to write a review. We've been seated both times immediately outside of the bathroom.... that's never pleasant. A part of what makes the searing so unpleasant is that the area is so cramped with all of the foot traffic and the servers were challenged with simply standing at their tables - nevermind trying to use a stand to help with plate distribution once the food arrives. I'll say the service was just okay.. I'm very torn with saying that because our server was super sweet, but it took longer than it should have for us to receive drinks and place our orders... also, it's a bit frustrating when the food arrives, but two individuals at the table don't receive their food for nearly ten minutes after the rest of the table. It's hard to say if it was our server's oversight or the kitchens... also, our second round of drinks were so delayed that my frozen margarita wasn't all that 'frozen' by the time it arrived. I will share that everyone really enjoyed their food, but my chicken was overcooked and dry.. The rice was rather mushy and was very nearly resembling a paste... I sampled others' and I agree that theirs were much better than mine.. the pieces of beef and shrimp that I sampled were also super flavorful. I will not order the Ranchero Chicken again. The biggest issue was the temperature in the restaurant. I cannot recall the last time I was so uncomfortable eating a meal that I was paying for... it's August in Texas and I would have preferred to sit outside. The two of us that sat against the wall in our cramped booth must have been sitting on a shared wall with the oven on the other side because the wall was heated. So, between the temperature in the building and the heated wall, it was awful. I, literally, had sweat running down my back and the hair at my neck was damp when we left. We did ask about the temperature and we were met with an understanding smile and nod, along with a recommendation to sit on the other side of the restaurant... with that, we weren't able to determine if the AC was not functioning properly or if that's just how their system is.. regardless, it was enough to overshadow the food and the service - that were both 'just okay'. All that said, we will try them once more, but only if someone else suggests them - and not until the temps outside cool a bit.

Chips and salsa were good. I might be used to a different kind of Mexican food, so I don't want to judge harshly. I had the cheese enchilada, it was ok. More like cheese sauce wrapped in a tortilla. The staff are amazing and definitely work hard as a family, I appreciate that.

We were seated at a table directly under an AC vent, cold air almost constant. Food was lukewarm when served. Sink in restroom had no water. No waterless hand cleaner. Very crowded but it was a Saturday night, expected it.

We go there because it's close; but, other than that, there's nothing great about this restaurant. It could be that because we lived in the Denver area for 20 years before moving here, that we are spoiled by the couple of really great restaurants there, that we are spoiled. The food is okay, service was pretty good. The atmosphere would have probably been fine, except for the LOUD music playing. Even though we were sitting across the table from each other, we had to shout in order to hear ourselves.

I originally stopped in to just get a jar of dip. I wish I had stuck with that plan. We sat for about 25 mins without anyone asking us if we wanted a drink or chips and salsa. Yes they were busy but even throw some chips and dip as you go by and help the ppl that came in After us. Got our food and waited for our silverware lol

I've eaten here 3 times and the first two times were great. The food is amazing. The third time, I found a long black hair in my food. I did not eat any of it but paid for the food and the tip. The waitress offered to send me home with a new meal, but I declined as I was in a rush. Not the worst experience and not the best. Do with it what you feel.

I was not impressed with this restaurant. The food was mediocre at best. The service was good but the food wasn't anything to write home about. It was smaller than I thought also inside. The prices were good, but I wouldn't go back there again. Apparently, people go there for the alcohol. I'm not a drinker, so that leaves me out. I was also surprised to find out they did t have sweet tea. That kind of threw me for a loop. The staff there is great. They just need to upgrade their cooks. God bless.

This place has always been good. But lately the service has gotten bad. I ordered enchiladas with a pint of salsa to go. Told me 15-20 minutes. I showed up about 30 minutes later. Food wasn't ready. Understandable. Go pick up food for wife down the street. Come back. Still waited 10 minutes. I already paid and they forgot the salsa. When I asked for it they said I wasn't charged for it. They went and got the salsa and didnt give chips. When I got home. The salsa jar was thrown in the bag and pushed the plate cover into the food. Never had this kind of service from this place. I hope it doesn't go to shhi like the everything else in the can.

This is a home grown Mexican restaurant, that really has no consistency in their to go orders. Quality of food is good. We always get Grande fajitas. Tonight, we got the little bag of chips. Other nights we might get a large bag. It is always a surprise surprise moment. Also only received 1 side beans, no rice… just no consistency which has now encouraged us to try other Mexican restaurants in the area. For example- this bag is a small white bag, 2 inch by 3 inch, filled to about 4 inches tall. You would think that when you ordered a large bowl of queso to go, that they would send a larger bag of chips with you.

Stopped during our road trip. The food was incredible for such a great price. The enchiladas are a must try.The margaritas looked amazing. But the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. From start to finish was horrible. Would not go back if in the area.

So I went to eat at the bar. I was traveling from Houston working in Corsicana for three days. I looked at Mexican food. Restaurants have found this one. As I was eating, a roach crawled up on the counter. Not a big roach, but a baby roach. They obviously need to fumigate.

It didn't smell or look that clean but I went in anyway. The service was not that great. The food was not that good. Not sure what this dip is they serve with the chips? Server said it's a secret recipe. Tasted like big Mac sauce. They were cleaning the rugs and pulling them up into the air to carry out while we were eating so that was nasty. Not impressed.

My wife ordered the college special and requested no rice additional beans. She's insulin dependent diabetic. When we got the bill there was a $1.99 charge for the additional beans. The waitress told us normally she would not have charged that but management was there so she had too. I met with the manager upon leaving and said that was a ridiculous charge since we were substituting things priced similarly. She said it says it on the menu and that's that. She also said that's the way it always been. WOW! What a response. I'm 72, have eaten in over 50 Mexican restaurants all over Texas and have never been charged for a refried been substitute for rice. The food was average at best. We will find a new spot for TexMex in the future.

We were a group of 9 who visited the restaurant on 10/21/25. The place was so cold we could not enjoy our food. The food was brought out hot, but quickly cooled off. I had a bowl of tortilla soup that was not soup at all, it became a bowl of mush with soft mushy tortillas and hardened cheese. We ordered queso, it was to cold , got hard instead melted queso. We requested a manager several times and were told there was no manager on duty! We asked the air be turned up and were totally ignored. There were several people who had mentioned to the wait staff help, it was cold, but we were all ignored. We were totally disappointed in the food and experience. Management should always be handy and I believe it is in most places. But apparently not at the Old Mexican Inn Corsicana, Tx.👎👎👎

Just moves to the area and thought we would try this place... waitress was horrible! I don't know if she just didn't want to be at work or what her problem was but she had an attitude from the moment she walked up to our table to take our drink order. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes just for her to bring the lemons that I asked for twice for my water we decided to leave. I definitely will not go back! Our story has a happy ending though... we ended up at La Pradera and the service and food were amazing!

There was a party of 10 of us and the staff was not use to serving that many people. The restaurant appearance was dirty and the lighting was dark with the bathrooms being very small located in a narrow hallway. The refried beans were dry and cold, the orange dip sauce was bad, and the other food was OK. The food was expensive for the quality of what was received. Sodas are all bottle drinks so you had to buy several to quench your thirst. I got sick a couple hours after eating here and was throwing up with diarrhea. I would not recommend this place even though it is a local favorite.

Very very long wait… ordered a taco plate and a bean & cheese burrito with rice. My Son received his order after close to an hours wait…he tried to wait for my order…it never came. We paid for our drinks and left. Terrible experience.

Beans were so gross. They don't have sweet tea 🫤 rice and hot sauce was average. The only thing good on this was the enchiladas. Things didn't taste scratch made. Good luck 👍

Do not recommend Terrible service, waited 40 minutes to be seated and had serval other customers seating be prioritized over ours. Once we were seated we had to ask for a waitress to take our drink order and were seated for close to 15 minutes after we got our drinks and the waitress had still not come back to get our order but was taking other tables orders that were seated after us. We then asked for the check and left, would never come again!

I had the worst food and customer service ever. They're overpriced for everything, and they don't even give you a complete order of food that is even decent or edible. My grandson ordered nachos with meat beans and cheese, and they literally brought a plate of Nacho chips with beans and beef hamburger and shredded cheese melted that looked like it came out of the microwave was disgusting and flavorless. There was no sour cream or guacamole, and if you wanted those things to on your nachos, you'd have to pay extra. There's an extra charge for everything. If you want to remove something or add something or make a substitution, which is like $3 for each thing. If I wanted to add meat, it would be $6.99, the thing I was gonna order. Do not go there.They are the worst ever. Then, the manager wanted to argue with me, saying he would only do this once... I said fine I am never coming back hete. I had him take off my grandson's nasty nachos, but he wanted to argue with me. I told him, I would never come back there again. And then I told him I was going to give him a review that's not in his favor. VERY DISSAPPOINTED!

This was my second time eating here, first time it was great this time they droppd the ball. My food was salty the beans tasted scorched. After trying to eat a few bites I asked for the manager I was told he was to busy. Wow to busy for a paying customer. Thanks 15 bucks wasted. I guess Ipaid for them to throw their food away. I want be back. Maybe it's because I'm Black. This is what I didn't eat and shouldn't have had to pay for this SALTY meal IJS

THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE. When we arrived the hostess told us 35-45 min we agreed sat down and started talking. Multiple guest came in after us and was seated in less time after the hostess then went outside and got a couple who came 30 mins after us from outside to be seated before us and it was just 2 of us WE LEFT!!!! Not saying this had anything to do with color but we were the only brown skin ladies waiting that day and was never seated. WE WENT WERE OUR MONEY WAS GLADLY ACCEPTED

I hate to leave a negative review, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. It felt like there was little care or effort put into representing Tex-Mex cuisine well. The flavors lacked authenticity and overall quality. The staff came across as unwelcoming, which only added to the overall disappointing experience. What really stood out, though, was seeing Andes chocolates at the front labeled "5 for $1" - something that is typically offered complimentary at many restaurants. It may seem like a small detail, but it gave the impression of being unnecessarily stingy and reinforced the overall feeling that hospitality wasn't a priority here. I genuinely question the positive reviews about the food, because anyone who considers this good likely hasn't experienced truly good Tex-Mex. I truly hope the management takes this feedback into consideration and makes improvements.

This place is genuinely terrible. My family of five and I came in, and the service was awful from the start. We sat down, and it took more than ten minutes just to get our drinks. The food took over 20 minutes, and they weren’t even busy. Our server was terrible—he only came by three times during the nearly two hours we were there. One of us didn’t even eat because the food was so bad—it didn’t even look appetizing. They had little to no drink options, and the portions were barely half-decent. Definitely not a place you’d want to go if you expect any service at all.

Never again. Horrible table service (obviously spoke little English and spent her time with Hispanic customers), food order was incorrect (was supposed to be beef and it was bean), NO SWEET TEA, horribly spicy dipping sauce, broken chips obviously leftover in the bin, absolutely snotty at checkout. I won't ever be back. There are too many better Mexican restaurants in Corsicana.

It’s gonna be long, butYou’ll want to read this. up front, I find it hard to believe that many people are giving this a good multiple star review let alone any five star reviews. 🙄 They must be coming in at a different time or don’t know what good service and food is. We’re not coming back. Very disappointed to report that and this: I’ve read some of the other 1 star reviews and I am finding the exact same thing happened to us so the fault is the management directly because it’s still happening. The waitress was nice, but she was not attentive or assertive at all. Untrained or just doesn’t get it I don’t know. There were only two of us and we were told 20 minutes till we could be seated yet there were four center tables that seat two people that were empty when we first arrived and stayed empty the entire time we were in the restaurant. Not exactly sure why but probably because they don’t want to handle any more than they were trying to handle while we were there. 5 -10 mins to get chips and salsa 10-15 mins After that to get water. That right there oughta tell you enough. I know it sounds like I’m being sarcastic, but 10 to 15 minutes for Waters? Three people came in after us, and their order was taken before us. Their drinks were delivered before hours, and their food was delivered before hours as well. Similar to another one star post the waitress seemed to know them. The food is nothing to write home about. Instead, I’ll write you here that it just wasn’t very good. My wife got queso in a chip bowl and there was hardly any cheese in it at all. It was like there was no pride in anything they did Other young ladies I guess hostesses just wandering around it seemed instead of helping with drinks and chips-checking on customers I told my wife I’m glad I did not order anything expensive Many of the chips were broken in which I used to put into my charro beans We ordered Charro beans and both got refried so I had to ask if we were getting them It would seem to me that this place is going to fade away if they continue the same cycle I really am very surprised there. Are that many good reviews for this place in fact, shocked. If you go see for yourself, you have a very good chance of writing this same review

Y'all this place is GROSS! Unless you really love the taste of chili powder. Everything we ordered had it on there and who puts pickles on top of a kids grilled cheese. Sick.

Horrible everything, customer service all the way to the food. My food was cold and stuck to the bottom of the tray it came in like it had been reheated several times. I'll never go back. An was charged 17$ for 2 cheese enchiladas an a bean tostada with a salad on top..
