The best Moes I’ve ever been to. Clean, friendly atmosphere, and food is fresh. You’ll always get greeted at this one. The parking is a little funny but very nice
Team moved very fast and very accurately during the dinner rush. Manager gave me a free soda!
Burrito definitely surpassed expectations. That was a nice surprise. Will go back to check and see if that was a one time thing or a regular day at Moe's.
Everyone is always very nice to me that work there
Overall, it's one of the better Moe's i have been to. Very clean and great service.
Food was great. Spoiled by one man with no mask. When he was told masks were required, he briefly put collar of shirt over mouth, then took it down and asked if I worked for the state. When an employee was asked if they were going to enforce the posted mask rule, the employee did nothing. (The diregard about masks has been the case ever since they re-opened.)
What an amazing staff. Was here 2x in one night. Friendly staff who were able to chat on a personal level while maintaining a steady work flow. Food was fresh and delicious, but the staff are what will continue to allow this establishment to prosper.
Love the friendly employees and delicious food. It’s always clean and great prices!
Food and service-putting the order together and cashing out weren't bad, about what you'd expect from fast food. As we were dining we saw an employee behind the counter shake his hair. That's not what I expect from a restaurant.
Mexican cuisine at its best. Food was freshly cooked. Wide variety of salsa and sauces available. We tried taco and bowl. Both were yummy. Price is very reasonable. Lots of seating place for dine in. Staffs are very nice and friendly. Will visit again!
The steak bowl was generously portioned and delicious. I opted for the steak, as the pork and chicken looked a bit dried out, but who knows? I rarely choose steak at Moe's or Chipotle but it was truly great! I'm kind of a wimp with spice --Frank and Lisa's Red Hot is a comfortable level of heat for me-- but the added jalapeños were a perfect spice addition to the homewrecker bowl. Re: Kid's meals I don't often go to Moe's and I could have used a little help understanding the check out process at Moe's. I had to ask for the cup for my son's kids meal, and did t realize we were supposed to grad the included cookie ourselves. So needless to say, we left without that supposedly included item. For what is included with a basic kids meal, I think the prices was high. $7 for 1 tortilla and a bit of cheese...and a fountain drink if you ask for a cup and a cookie...if you remember to ask for that. I recall that the meal is $7 for quesadillas with protein; that may be worth it. But for plain cheese for a 6-7" tortilla, I should have just upgraded to an adult meal with sides. Re: Environment/ atmosphere The staff didn't fail to say "Welcome to Moe's". Such a great feather if the chains branding. The food line worker didn't make it easy to understand what was in a kids meal, communication was a bit weak but not in any way less than what is common today in the fast casual industry. The cashier was very kind. The restaurant looked clean. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean and stocked. I would love to see more restaurants have a wrist or foothold door opener (especially when they don't have paper towels for drying, cause I use them to open bathroom doors). So that might be the only thing they might consider improving. And that is true of other places. I can just say when they are there, I really appreciate that feature in a public restroom. All in all, it was a great place to grab a quick bite while in town for a tournament. I'd definitely recommend this establishment.
the food was GREAT people were friendly good place for a Friday night dinner!!
It was fantastic. The food is great - it's always hot & fresh. There are a lot of options and offer vegan choices. The service is great. Each time I have been there everyone was friendly and happy. The "Welcome to Moes" is always good to hear. It's my favorite place to eat.
We stop at Moe's Southwest Grill on occasion when we are looking for a quick bite. Food has also been good and the staff always friendly. I few months ago we stopped for a late dinner, with the kids. When we reached the cashier I realized that I had forgotten my wallet (talk about feeling like a jerk!). The cashier allowed us, even insisted that we take the food as long as I promised to come back. This was unexpected, and above and beyond. The hungry kids especially appreciated it!!! Thank you!!!
Ok, so many of my close friends have been RAVING about this place. I have always been leaning on the cautious side of Mexican food in the state of NY ONLY BECAUSE I lived in Tucson AZ for 4.5 years and was spoiled to the REAL DEAL of authentic Mexican food. Let me tell you, this place is NOTHING SHORT OF SPECTACULAR! They greet you when you walk in with a cheerful “Welcome to Moe’s!” by all the employees. The food and selection is out of this world and so fresh, there’s so much to choose from and I only have so much room in my stomach! And.... THE EMPLOYEES GENUINELY LOVE THEIR JOB! The place is clean, the bathrooms are spotless, the atmosphere is welcoming and roomy. I cannot believe it took me so long to come here. You definitely get your money’s worth out of what you order and EVERYTHING is fresh. The salsa is ridiculously delicious and endless! So treat yourself to this place! I promise...you won’t regret it! I’ll be back! For sure! 🤘🏻😎
Stopped by on 4th of July. The place was spotless, the staff was friendly, and food was good. Ashley the manager was making sure everything was well. We have been here many times and it has not been this clean or fresh. Thanks Moe's.
This was the cleanest Moe's I have ever been! The staff was very friendly and efficient, expecially the nice young man with blonde hair. The head girl (manager?) was present and walking around making sure all staff were doing their jobs. Thursday night dine in visit.
5 stars across the board. I drive from Ithaca to this Moe's at least once a week. They're good with their portions, they keep the line moving, and all the staff is pretty cool. I mean, it's Moe's. It's not like the greatest food on the planet, but they got a decent, affordable taco salad that keeps me coming back.
Very friendly staff, great food and generous portions, clean eating area and bathrooms!
I really love this Moes. They always make you feel so welcome. And being a chef. I never leave this place hungry. Little on the pricey side but it is well worth every dollar
Ive been hesitant to visit due to the posts and comments people made a while back but it was really good this time and the workers were really nice!
The food was really good, and the service was great. We got through the line in a very timely manner.
This is my first time ever eating Inside the building of Moe’s! Incredible service!! I absolutely LOVE Mexican food! This DEFINITELY hit the spot!! It is not like all other fast food places… it’s more restaurant -like (like Texas Roadhouse, Applebee’s or Longhorn). I WILLLLL come back here again!! To this particular location abd to Moe’s as a company!! 😋
I frequently visit this location and it’s always spot on! Upon my most recent visit I did notice some very cool changes! A new salsa bar with all the sauces!!! New color scheme and a new drink machine! Also the tea was back! Just need to bring back plain tomato’s and cucumber!
Clean atmosphere, hot good food on the spot! My server was well informed. Chips were crispy-yay! Salsa station was clean and stocked with three kinds of salsa, fresh lemons and limes. Drink machine worked. Tables were clean! Great job Cortland Moe’s-you fed my hungry self well!!
Been coming here for about 17 years now, a long time I know that! But this place never changes (apart from prices!) and the food always taste great, and is accurate. And every order you get free chips, they have a wide range of salsa to try which most are tasty and some are spicy. No issues with the employees, always friendly and greets customers, bathrooms were clean as well.
Always end up enjoying my experience here, but am sadly left underwhelmed with the "Southern" tea. I have some advice for the tea brewing, if when you taste it, (and you should be), you don't feel it is A, too strong, and B, too sweet; it's not done. I can live with the sweet. Cause I'm used to it. But when it's watery, it's very meh.
Food is fresh and staff is friendly. Limited selection of dishes. But all can be made to your liking. The Homewrecker is cleverly named...but I stuck with the quesadilla as a conventional lunch. Was a good one. 🌮
Despite what others have said, I have always had good food and good service. The food is always made with fresh ingredients and prepared to my liking. The staff is friendly and I always get a "Welcome to Moe's" when I walk in. Wednesday nights kids eat free. Get the mobile app and start tracking your purchases. For every $100 spent you get a $10 coupon.
Very very busy location! Staff was friendly, place was clean. They handled the place pretty well.... Line was moving slowly though because of all the online orders which were done as they were doing in person guests... One online order, one guest order, online order, guest order, etc. They should think about another serving line just got online orders to keep their in person guests moving more quickly.
Good, tasty, fast and friendly. Very similar to the other chain burrito place without all the hype on their paper products. Not gourmet but much better than a burger or fried chicken fast food place if you want a somewhat healthier alternative.
Service is usually very good, restaurant usually clean and well stocked. Soda fountain seems to be out of custom flavors a lot, but that's not a big deal to me. Gets crowded there often, in which case things get chaotic behind the counter (get asked same question multiple times for example). Still, staff seems to strive for best possible service, and I return often. I prefer to order online to skip the lines. They tell you when it will be ready and it's always accurate within about 5 minutes.
The food can sometimes be a bit dry but it has started to grow on me lately. I usually go for chicken but last time I was there I saw them pulling the steak off the grill and just had to switch it up. I was glad I did and it will be my new go to! Chips and salsa for free with each meal is appreciated and good but honestly too much to ever finish. Started asking for just a small serving of chips so as not to be wasteful. Staff at Cortland are polite and hard working. A fine spot to grab lunch!
Not as good as other restaurants with the same style food. The kid that made my burrito rolled it the wrong direction so I ended up eating it in layers not realizing it right away. Rice then beans then sour cream then meat etc.
Granted I went at the end of the day, but the place was a mess and there was food all over the counter! But worse, the guy preparing my food was skimpy on the ingredients! He gave me a tablespoon of chicken, literally 3 pieces of onion and 3 slivers of green peppers! I expected more food. Lastly, the young people working there seem a little lost (and I've noticed quite a bit of employee turnover).
Went there when they first opened and it was overly crowded. I get they need to keep the line moving, but they really rush you. The quality of the food wasn't even that good. Only plus was the chips and queso. Oh and don't forget the coke machine that allows you to make your own drink. I've drove past recently and they aren't nearly as busy as when they first opened. I think everyone had high expectations, they couldn't deliver on. It's sad because Cortland needs more good chain restaurants.
I do find it tastes delicious but it's about a 25% success rate for good wrapping jobs. Burrito is often falling apart or leaking from being overstuffed. Yesterday the wrap ripped in the middle and I asked it to be re-wrapped, though second time around it was one of the best wrapping jobs ever.
Solid place to check out for quick food, but the portions could be a little more generous. They have changed their hours due to Covid-19 so they are closing at 9pm even though it says 20pm on google. Just letting people know Today is 12/11/2020 so hopefully it gets changed soon
The reception was weak. The food is good, fresh. The menu is weird. It has names for different things but no matter what you order they still ask you if you want each available item. I got a taco salad. I don't remember what they call it. The names have no real connection to the food items.
This is low rent Chipotle. There's not much else to say about it. Not great, not terrible. Portions seem to be big enough, and they do seem to have a decent selection, but the food isn't all that flavorful and it's all a bit overpriced. There are better Tex-Mex places in town, but if you're ordering for pickup and don't plan to sit down this is fine.
Not a bad place but it just keeps you wishing it was Chipotle. Offerings are almost the same between the two but this place just seems a little bit more like cafeteria food. I had the build your own bowl and it was decent. Most likely going to other options for lunch in the future though.
I have never seen an employee absolutely abhor the customers the way the guy with the sagging pants, and batman tattoo on his left arm does. Every customer that walks through the door, he shakes his head and says "no, stop coming in" loud enough for others to hear him. He started at 8 different orders sitting on the counter to get cold while putting incorrect ingredients into at least 4 of them. The work area was completely covered in food/queso. Being in the food industry, customer service should be your number one priority. This was not the first time this guy was rude, our last visit a month ago it was even worse. Frankly I'm not sure how he has a job.
We've been going to this Moe's about once a month for the last year. It's not often but we only eat about about twice a month so it's about half of our going-out budget. We will no longer be spending our money at this particular Moe's. Our most pick-up recent order of 2 burrito bowls were half the size they normally are. We took them back to ask for them to be properly filled and were told that this is the amount they are supposed to have and they have been "over-serving" us this whole time. Apparently, one scoop of each item is the appropriate serving size. That's one scoop of rice, one scoop of beans, one scoop of meat, and one scoop of each topping, for 10 dollars. Really?? I've eaten at many Moe's restaurants, and none of them have ever given me a half-full burrito bowl until this one. The food is good, but I'm not paying 10 to 11 dollars for that tiny amount of food. I guess the manager is trying to save money, but they lost my business. I'd rather support other businesses that aren't trying to short their customers. On top of it, we couldn't eat any of the chips because they were so greasy. We had to use our own chips.
Been here a few times, food is pretty good and usually things go quickly. Seems now they must be understaffed or something, took forever to get through just 4 or 5 people. Looked like they just had a big catering order or something, but management should really consider handling that stuff separately from the in store customers, or adding wait times for those orders when they don't have the staff on to handle it. Also I asked for a junior burrito and ended up paying almost $8 for a TINY birrito with just rice beans and chicken. Wish I had noticed the kids meal item is something else. I'll probably be back, hopeful things will improve after COVID
The food there is great but I feel like because there are always new workers, so there's often much variation on what you actually get every time you go. On average the food still is good but there have been times where the people working have no idea what is going on. Things are also different when a manager is on duty, smaller portions, stricter about add-ons, needing the physical receipt for their $2 off deal, etc. Seriously though, other than the few managers, there are always new faces working there from month to month.
(Placed on online order) Pros: - Food is usually good/decent - Free chips and salsa is nice - Price is okay Cons: - Consistency. I almost never get the same results with the same order I place, sometimes my bowl is packed with all of my ingredients and it’s very solid but sometimes (like today) I get half of my ingredients missing and the ones I do get are incredibly small and for the price I paid I was very disappointed. Overall this place would be pretty good if the consistency was better
Disappointing! Even though delivery arrived on time the food was dry and cold. Didn't get extra side of queso we paid for either.
Great staff, great food, no longer the great value. I love Moe's. But it is hit or miss, January 3rd. I get a homewrecker burrito and apparently food prices are a problem. I get a burrito which is smaller then the norm. The photo I included the salt shaker for size reference. I still love Moe's just check your food before leaving the parking lot, new faces all the time.
Just picked up dinner from the Moe's in Cortland, NY. We've been eating there since they opened. This was the smallest portion I've ever had, maybe half of what they serve if I go inside to order. I will NEVER order online from there again. And no store number on receipt, so I couldn't go to the feedback page. If this is the "new normal", I will not be eating at Moe's anymore.
I love Moe's Great food, , the employes are helpful, the General Manager Caroline always looks irritated, angry with the costumers. I think, this not the best example for the General Manager! Need to be more patient, with the customers! I come in 2 times a week with my special needs client , and she was very impatient she does need more time to order. I do not want people screaming welcome to Moe's as they are preparing my foods it unsanitary!
Dear moe, When I get charged $3 for queso, I expect queso on my entire bowl!!! Not just 3/4 ladle on 1/2 my bowl, sloppily dropped in. When I ask for complete coverage, you want to charge $3 more??? How is it my fault your Cortland employees are inept at best. Worst service EVER!!!! If this is the way your steering your business, your business is doomed.
The prices weren't as cheap as they make it out to be. The employees were nice. There menu is limited they don't even have coffee. I like spicy food there scorpion salsa wasn't that much warmer than there medium salsa. The scorpion suppose to very hot. At least the taco size was descent. If you want your food to be spicy and or hot I recommend you bring your own salsa and hot sauce.
I find it funny how a multi-million dollar company doesn't let you customize one of their main bowls. I went into Moe's today and asked for a Moe Meat, Moe Cheese, and I asked for no beans or pinco de guio, and my server said something that I didn't hear because their servers always mumble. What I'm assuming they said is that it is uncustomizable, which is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It would be great if they could actually just not give me beans or pico de guio like any other place and order would. Please change your ways or just make an actual notice that says you can't customize it.
Ground beef was so salty it was inedible. All the tables were dirty.and gnats were flying around. Staff was nice though
It was really long wait. We waited in line for 1 1/2 hours before actually being able to order. If you do not like loud music I would not recommend this place. I got the housewreck burrito. Which was okay I guess I mean not the best food I've had by a long shot. The main problem I had with it was the black beans weren't cooked almost at all, they where very hard. Also when I had their tortilla chips they felt so stale in my mouth. I bit into one and it was like sticking ish to my teeth like a stale chip would. But there was plenty of food.
One of the employees had an absolute mental breakdown while I was trying to eat. It was absolutely ridiculous. I even heard racist phrases coming out their mouth. I was shocked that they weren't sent home for it. Sounded like they like hiring people who got fired from the other businesses in town.
2025 update: After calling ahead and being told that the first 20 customers would get free t-shirts, I drove almost 30 miles for Cinco de Moe. To make a long story short, no T-shirt, rude-beyond-belief staff. I was first (and only) customer, had to wait 20 minutes for 10:30am opening because it does not open at 10am as described on the Moes web site. Drove almost 30 miles home. Will never go there again. Read more reviews; many other negative comments about rude staff and poor customer relations. Positive comments are about the Moe's menu...which is, IMHO, still tasty food. Summary: Not my favorite Moe's. The only reason this review is 2-stars...is because the generic Moe's can serve a pretty good burrito, and the negatives of this location aren't quite able to offset that advantage. Once upon a time, Moe's was among my favorite decent-food fast-food go-to places. Not so much any more for two reasons: (1) Moe's in Ithaca closed and (2) The prices have gone way up beyond the good-deal range. Two Moe's are now equidistant from Ithaca (about 35 miles, 40+ minutes), so it's not exactly an on-the-way impulse sort of meal. However, I visited Moe's in Cortland for Cinco de Moe. Observations, in roughly chronological order. 1) I arrived early. One reason to attend Cinco deMoe is the free T-shirt given to the early arrivals. In Ithaca, there was a line waiting at the 11am opening time. In Cortland, no such thing. Parking lot was empty. By opening time, there was one other car in the lot. About 10:55, an employee came outside to unlock the door. I waited a minute or two and went in. After all, who unlocks the door unless you're ready for customers? Instead of the usual, "Welcome To Moe's," I was greeted with, "You can't be in here." So I went out and returned a minute or two later. Talk about bad customer relations. 2) Although I was one of the first two customers, the staff was already busy filling orders. Maybe they came in by phone? Internet? Whatever. I had to wait 5+ minutes before they got to me. Talk about bad customer relations. 3) I ordered a Homewrecker. The tortilla got stuck to the warming press. Instead of pitching it, the server peeled it off, tearing it, and used it. Talk about not caring and poor standards. 4) The tortilla is a lot smaller than it used to be. Coupled with the price that's a lot more than it used to be, it's not such a good value any more. 5) The fillings were applied sparingly. See above for not such a good value. 6) The cashier simply dumped the burrito into a paper bag. I had to ask for a "dine-in" tray. It was handed to me along with the paper bag full of burrito and chips. See above about not caring. 7) The cashier forgot one detail. I had to ask, and ask again, for a T-shirt (remember why I was there, Cinco de Moe). Other customers forgot (or didn't know) to ask, and didn't get one. 8) The drinks machine was being maintained (or repaired) while customers were using it. No ice, plus the possibility of optional dust and debris drifting down into your food and cup. On the plus side, the "black cherry chipotle" salsa was really, really good. OTOH, although labeled as spicy it was not spicy and none of the other salsas have ever been much more than flavored tomatoes (or tomatillos). Now, the decor. From the outside, the Cortland Moe's would be mistaken for one of those cinderblock automotive businesses that are found next to well-traveled routes. An out-of-business business, at that, as the "don't pay for chips" signs had the coloring and lettering of those "store closing" and "last chance clearance" signs. If I wasn't looking for a Moe's sign, I'd probably have ignored the place and driven by. The interior decor is probably standard for today's Moe's. Not nearly as colorful and quirky and charming as they used to be. It was clean enough, no complaints. Definitely not your Ithaca Moe's. Can't imagine why that one closed, and this one is still open. But it's still decently good fast food.
The food is overpriced, the line was long and very slow. One of the employees mask was hanging down and not covering her nose and half her mouth. As for the actual food itself, the burrito was decent and the cheese sauce was pretty good, but the chips were kinda greasy and too hard rather than crispy. The strawberry hibiscus drink was pretty good though.
Disappointed! Have been here several times. This was the first visit in 2 years. The staff was not welcoming to customers, they didn't respond with Thanking you for coming in or thank you for your order, or any verbal gesture after you paid., and made minimal effort to make your order. Tortilla chips were in paper bags as the staff said they had "No clean trays". Ice machine didn't work, majority of the tables had food on them and wasn't clean. Upon leaving we noticed a stack of atleast 10 trays over top of the trash can dirty, waiting to be cleaned. Staff was appropriate for restaurant cleaning etc. when customers were seated or take outs were done. Our family of 6 was the only customers at 5:30 p.m. Lack of enthusiasm for customers business is really noticed!
This might be the worst Moe’s I’ve been too. The staff was inattentive and felt like I was bothering them. The portions the girls gave to us were at best 3/4 of the size they’re supposed to be and 1/4 the size they served the people they were joking around with and making plans with while we waited. They were very pushy to get us out. The girls making our food were very unkempt. The boys cleaning were really nice. But the restaurant was gross and filthy. I’m glad I’m not local and I ’ll never be back.
Absolutely dispicable customer service. I called to place a robust order for my family and I. First the phone was not answered until the second attempt at placing an order. Next, the employee who answered snickered and chuckled at my request to place an order for pick up, and proceeded to inform me that they quote "don't do that, they are under-staffed, followed by more chuckling at my expense before ending the call rather abruptly. What a sad display of customer service, coupled with an absence of any desire whatsoever to the job for which they are being compensated to do. Hopefully the piss poor conduct of the employees, and the abhorrent work ethic that clearly reigns supreme in this establishment, has already caught the attention of corporate, and there appropriate actions are being taken to remedy the problem. Because this is dispicable.
My family and I were coming thru Cortland on our way home from Syracuse Sunday night. Came in 50 min before closing with half the chairs already up. The two young folks were trying to hustle to get things cleaned and organized for a quick close. While 2 other young men were sweeping up. Our party of 4 walked in followed by another 2 folks and 2 online orders came in while we were ordering. So the 2 young folks on the line were balancing back and forth making orders and doing the register. Sadly the entire time this was going on the manager Mr. Bill decided to stand with his back to us not even acknowledging us or offering to help. Apparently prepping tostadas was more important than being a decent player-coach. And yes it was apparent he was a manager. We sat down another family came into order and again he stood over his fryer. While one employee kept putting chairs up all-round us. So we only ate half ourmeal before feeling rushed out. Just before we left another family of 3 came in and while the one line person went to the facilities the other went out back to get some fresh queso. The tostada king did the standard "welcome to moes" and stood his ground telling the guest that "she will be right up to help you" I went up to get some extra chipotle ranch to go. This dude was so dead set on not helping guests that he had no clue I was standing there for almost a minute. And the reason I didn't say anything, was simply because I would have berated him for lackadaisical work ethic.
I've patroned this location many times, decided to order online to save time tonight. Arrived at the expected pick up time and everything was ready, however after closer inspection every meal was sparse and lacking or completely wrong. Completely disappointed Moe's.
It was great service until we had to check out.. The MANAGER asked us if we wanted it for here or to go.. So I said to go.. she started putting it into a tray and the cashier again told her we wanted it to go.. And very rudely she said i just asked them that.. And i said to her i did say to go..So she started throwing our chips in a bag and threw the burritos on top of them, crushing the chips and spilling the sauce.. I said to the cashier.. That's your manager??!!! She's like yep.. not thrilled herself. so wasn't very happy with the so called manager..
I would this Moe's zero stars if I could. We ordered online at 5:30, the order was to be ready at 6pm. I stood in thw restaurant for an hour and disnt get the meal until after 7pm. Then they forgot part of the kids meal and wouldn't give me the queso that I paid extra for. Never going here again! They were more worried about serving the young collage girls rather than the people in the order that orders came in.
Was waiting 10 minutes at a table for our online order to be made while a worker yelled from across the store leave or order something. Also didn’t know there was a daycare in the restaurant. We saw a worker feeding her baby behind the counter around where food was prepared. There was a workers toddler unsupervised walking around the restaurant and behind the counter as well. I find this behavior a bit unprofessional
We just ordered dinner here my spouse picked it up and when she got home my Homewrecker 13 dollar burrito was the size of a hot dog and the home wrecker bowl she got was less than half full. Also we did not get the drink in our pick up bag either ... Very very poor experience. Take that $30 dollars and go enjoy a sit down meal somewhere
I went to Moe's and I must say...... service was rude. Food was tasteless. Manager was in a rush and just stopped all our toppings on one side and before I could finish asking for more sour cream on the other side of the burrito, he already stopped another blob in the same exact spot there was already too much on. Then had the nerve to get an attitude as if I was asking for too much. And that was the manager! I will never go back on the cortland Moe's again! I will make the trip to ithaca where the food and service is amazing! Not to mention, they jipped us On an order of chips. Over all, I have NEVER felt more unwelcome as a paying customer. I work very hard for my money to waste it on bad service and nasty food.
After placing a sizable order at this establishment, I was met with a very poorly trained cashier which is to be expected due to the current pandemic . There were numerous attempts to process my card ending in failure to which I explained my card needed to be chip read or non contact read and there seem to be an inherent desire to swipe my CC consistently. The cashier whom I beive did the best he could reached out to a woman I can only assume is his superior and she approached me with a very disgusting tone demanding that I swipe my card which I had done numerous times. She then grabbed my card out of my hand and swiped it to no avail while I kept saying to use non contact or chip . She then finally used a non contact method which worked and proceed to say just give them their food as if I was a peasant asking for too much from my master . I am a paying customer that was treat like shitand I will never return to this establishment. Please train your staff !
Food was cold. Small proportions, over priced for the quantity and quality. Trays were still wet when given to me at the counter. Tables dirty. Garbage cans over flowing, can't even throw my garbage away. Employee on cell phone while finally emptying garbage.
Ok food... high prices staff not so interacting.. Update! staff extremely rude when they make the mistake and instead of Bill looking into facts he flies off the handle. Then the girl that caused all the issues that was behind the register said "I don't work here" I am now receiving messages to my Facebook account about this... finding it funny how they are continuing to show they shouldn't be in a service industry
I am never ordering online from here again! My food looked gross. There was so much chipotle ranch on it plus THEY LEFT OUT MY PROTEIN!! MY STEAK THAT I ORDERED. How the f**k do u forget the main thing in the bowl. I don't understand. That's 2.50 that I don't get back plus the tip I gave. I'm so upset, now I know to never do that again.
One thing I noticed every time I come is the cooks ( burritos/taco makers) don't change their gloves! I have to ask them every single time to please change their gloves before preparing my meal. I just go for the salsa and tofu. I don't notice anything really besides overcooked meat.
The employees had their children in the restaurant at a table completely out of control. The kids were running behind the counter, climbing on the windows, ect. The employees were yelling across the restaurant instead of speaking privately. I spoke up and said it was very unnecessary and one of the women (I am assuming a "manager") yelled down the hallway when I went to the restroom that is was not necessary for me to be there. When I went out to leave, she had a megaphone out in the dining area and all the staff were laughing. I told them they were extremely unprofessional. Definitely in need of new management/leadership.
*My family, and I, in particular, had the worst dining experience we/I have ever had.* My adoptive father has dementia. However, he has never had a problem like he had this evening. Allegedly, he must have thought his food had the wrong meat on it, and/or that it was not hot enough. I did not know if either of those complaints were valid. However, according to one or more of those who worked there, he allegedly became unreasonable (in the manner that one with dementia could), while making these complaints. I did not hear his words. Eventually, I noticed some comotion from those who worked there. When I inquired as to whether everyone/everything was alright, I was told that he had tried to get them to correct these problems with his food. I was told that when they would not correct these problems, he made an odd statement (which was not in his usual character). I then apologized and validated their complaints about him, for him, and also explained that he has dementia. However, when I did this, one of those who worked there made an uncalled-for, hostile, and sarcastic remark towards me. None of the others who worked there and witnessed this even attempted to deescalate this situation. In fact, they went from being dissmissive towards me, to encouraging this situation to continue. I told them we would leave, if they wanted. Despite this, they continued with this treatment towards me. Naturally, I eventually became fed up with the way I was being treated. While we were leaving, I responded in-kind towards one of one of their antics. However, when I did this, one of those who worked there immediately escalated the situation (in the manner of bullies), and became loud and profane. That person, and a group of those who worked there, then quickly closed their distance from me, got in my face, and remained there. Next, they began to make threats of graphic, physical injury to me, despite the fact that all the while, I was still attempting to leave. This made an otherwise simple task immeasurably more difficult, due to well-placed fears of unjustified physical attacks. *I started out by being understanding and compassionate. They responded with unjustified suspicion, then downright hostility. At every turn, they were the instigators and aggressors. Nobody deserves to be treated so unfairly, like this.*
Workers were incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment we walked through the door. We were unaware that Moe’s closed at 9pm on Sundays because their website shows that they are open until 10pm. We kindly pointed this out, as an area to be corrected, and they began yelling and swearing at us to get out…
My family and I usually go to Moe's once every other month. It's nothing to brag about, that's for sure. But, the last visit had me seething. We went on a Tuesday which is now Taco Tuesday. Great! Or so we thought. The tiniest portions I have ever seen, and they are already tiny. I even said something to the "manager" lady (or I assume it was her) that was placing the meat in the tacos and she didn't say one word, just gave me the look of death. It was pretty uncomfortable. Moe's is NOT cheap. Especially for a family of 4. But, sadly, we are done. Never again. Too bad they won't let you comment on their Facebook page. I'm assuming too many bad review's. Also, I have never seen the same staff twice. Maybe pay and treat your staff well and you will thrive. Just a thought.
Absolutely awful customer service. Be warned that they may randomly close early. The manager is rude and the employees have their kids running around the dining area or loudly watching their tablets.
The “manager” here never makes anybody feel welcomed and is not accommodating to customers whatsoever. Even if a customer accidentally gets an ingredient in a burrito it is your job as a restaurant to still make it right and not try to charge people twice. Scummy business practices. Do not eat here spend your money somewhere else like Chipotle. A report will be sent to corporate :)
Terrible food safety/handling. The management thinks they have the right to verbally abuse their employees. Especially with customers present. Its disgusting in there and they need to close the establishment. I also seen someone shooting up in the back then go right back in and work.
Absolutely do not recommend placed an online order and the food was wrong. Missing a whole burrito and cup of queso. Got to the restaurant to pick up the order that was supposed to be ready at 6:15 at about 6:20 and proceeded to wait in line to talk to the first server. The server tells us that we have to go around to the register and pick our food up. After getting out of line to go to the pickup area and standing there for 10+ minutes while the line keeps getting served but not worrying about customers who placed online orders we went back and stood in line for another 10 minutes before we are told well now you know that you have to wait in the order line to pick up the food. Called to get a refund and was told that I would have to wait till tommorow.
Went to Cortland Moe's for lunch ordered 2 meals dine in. Tables dirty, hard rock sauce most water, chips excessively salted. Adressed the issue with staff. Employee just disregarded concern. Manager came out. Addressed concern to management. Was met with unprofessional attitude and complaints from management that issues were brought to her attention.
Very unprofessional and rude manager. She wore her name tag on side of her hat. I paid for my order and before I get my food order behind the counter she walks away. She's gone for several minutes. Returns and I ask for my order so I can leave...she says hold on...I'm on the phone!!! She could have simply handed me my paid order but apparently she can't walk & chew gum. I was in a hurry so I can go to work...I can't imagine showing up to my job...nursing ...being rude wearing my name tag other than in plain view and telling my patients....hold on...I'm on the phone!!! The owner should be embarrassed of the rude and ignorant staff employed to manage Moe's in cortland
The food was dry. I had a bowl. The rice was hard and dry and could not chew it. I asked for lettuce and barely got any. The chicken was barely chewable itself. My husband and i went right toward the wind of lunch time. Around 12:45pm. There was no line however, customer service was horrible. I do not recommend Cortland, NY Moe's.
I just went to Moe's to have a small date with my boyfriend. We walked there and got in Moe’s at 9 exactly on a Saturday. All the chairs were already put up and they were already mopping. We went to get our food and paid. We asked the cashier where we could sit and she said wherever that isn’t already torn apart which all of the tables were torn apart. So we couldn’t sit anywhere in the store at all with our food. Also being that we walked had to sit outside in the cold and eat on the side walk. Just bad customer service.
BTW: 7 years later and I still refuse to set foot in the place. I placed my normal order for two burritos, one being the Art V. with only rice, beans, cheese and fresh jalapenos, and so as always I ordered "Extra Rice and Extra Beans." Stated clearly on the item order as well as the overall comment section order. And I clicked the slider to indicate double rice. Figured I had my bases covered. Now, it was Moe Monday where everything is $6.99 it seems, but I didn't care, I wanted two full-size burritos as I ordered. When I got the bag it seemed light to me, but I mistakenly waited to get home to look. What I pulled out were two anemic little burritos that were actually not even large enough to call soft tacos. Both together would not equal a normal burrito. This would not have upset me so much if I had not just paid $24 for 2 burritos and some queso dip and gotten what around $4 would have gotten me at Taco Bell. My wife called and we were told by the woman who answered "we ran out of full-size burrito shells. And everything is the same price anyway today." No, not acceptable. I said out loud before the call ended that I was going down there, which would explain why a guy who I assume was the manager on duty met me at the register. He gave me a very curt "Can I help you?" Not a good start. I was on the fence on having them remake the order or getting my money back until that moment. His hostile tone and posture made up my mind. "I would like my money back for this order." "What's wrong with it?" (Still hostile) I pulled out the tiny (and I mean tiny, Taco Bell's $1.00 bean and cheese burritos are larger) Art V and said "This is NOT a full-size Burrito." "Yeah, well, we ran out of full-size shells." I looked around when I came in and noticed everyone in there with burritos eating full-size burritos, and the staff on the line making, you guessed it, full-size burritos. I don't care what sort of insane price thing they have, sending someone out the door with two tiny little burritos and a cup of queso and charging them $24 (Well, $22 because I added a $2 tip as always...) is absurd. And compounding that by treating me as if I am the jerk because I am unhappy with that, is the epitome of poor customer service. I said I wanted my money back, he angrily asked me if I wanted him to remake the order but at that point, no way in hell. I said no, I want my money back, and I want the name and number of the manager. After fumbling with the register and failing to refund my card, he shoved the cash for the order in my hand, went in the back for 3 minutes and came back out with a single name "Carolyn" and the phone number for the store scribbled on a scrap of paper. He told me she was the store manager, and would be there tomorrow. I left. I intended to go down the next day but how much time do I feel like spending with this now that I am over an hour in? I sent in a comment through the "How did we do?" link at the bottom of the order. 24 hours ago I got an email from corporate: "Thank you for alerting us about the recent issue regarding your purchase at Moe's Southwest Grill. We take the incident you described very seriously and apologize for any problems you encountered as a result. This particular Moe's is an independently owned and operated franchise. We have forwarded your concerns to the owner/operator and have asked them to reach out to you as soon as possible." No response from the owner 50 hours later. So, unfortunately, I cannot recommend THIS Moe's location in any way. Honestly, I've never been treated so poorly in a customer service situation. They obviously figure that the college kids will offer them a continuously replenishing supply of customers so they don't care what the locals think or if we eat there.
The workers are weirdly passive aggressive and rude. It's as if they remembered I had used the bogo coupons before were very stingy with the portions in the burritos this time. 1x I went in I said I'd like multiple burritos and she asked how many, I said 6. And she seemed shocked and annoyed I was getting that much. I said they're all vegetarian and will be the same. 2x there I had to ask them to put more in the burritos. The bag of chips were also very stingy, 1/2 the amount as other times I've been to other moes.
The salsa has changed and tastes like ketchup. No longer using Mexican cheese more of white Italian blend. Won't be returning!
We ordered our food at 8:30 when we got to the register we were told that the drink machine only had to items available but we could purchase a bottle of soda for 3$ and it was not even cold it was stored on a shelf, we went to sit down at a table and people were sweeping and mopping and spaying cleaning supplies all over the restaurant and they didn't close until 10 pm . Needless to say we took out food and went home to eat instead. We will not be returning there again.
Lowering my review again. Store closed at least an hour before 10 on multiple nights. One night in particular was on 4/2/2025. This is not even a late night hour where some places are open till 1 or 2 am. If you are not going to be open at said hours then change those hours so others no not have to waste their time. Changing my review because of some extremely rude staff at 9/26/24 at 8:39pm. We come by randomly and always get the same two burritos but because of two new member we didn’t recognize we were treated rudely and our “homewrecker’s” were made very poorly. Hopefully your new staff gets better training on how to talk to customers. I also work in fast food during rush times and would never have talked this way to a customer. Do better.
I was at this location for a vacation. I ordered two bowls and a value meal. I asked the server if guacamole is extra and he said its not extra on the bowls. So I added. At the end he billed me as two home wrecker bowls when I had clearly indicated I needed the regular meal and had asked if guacamole was extra. He said something about him adding some extra portions on the toppings and I would not get them if he threw the meal away and made new ones. I did not want to argue or waste food. So I paid the extra and left. However tbe location is not transparent about pricing. Why would he assume i was asking for the homewrecker when I only said I needed tbe bowl? I would not recommend this location.
In short: If you like Moe's, go to any location but here, because the staff might just call the cops on you for respectfully pointing out a simple mistake. I wish I was joking. Longer: I've been coming to this location for years, and it was generally fine. Some food items changed over the years in ways I believe lowered the overall taste and quality, but not so much that I couldn't eat there. But now, I'm never eating here again due to a horrible staff interaction. I know there are a lot of Karens out there, and I know customer service jobs can be stressful, but I cannot defend how staff chose to handle what should've been a simple resolution. Generally, if you're polite about a mistake, folks are understanding back and things get resolved without stress. But here, staff were extremely rude and aggressive when a small order error was brought up. They blamed me, forced me to pay for the staff's mistake, and then called the cops when I asked for a partial refund after being overcharged for less food. This was several staff members backing up combative behavior from one member in particular, so I don't have faith management will do anything to address the problem. Also, the cops who showed up said they'd received complaints about this staff before, and they let me and my friend go after just a few questions. So, I suggest avoiding this location at all costs.
2 tiny pieces of chicken in my bowl. Something taste burnt. Wife's bowl had 1 piece of steak. We will never go back. EDIT: I’m still on the fence, but the last few times I ordered it’s been better. A little rice heavy… there’s been more meat and other toppings. More similar to when I go in. Delivery and pick up should be up to par with dine in. As if I was watching it being made. Raised from 1 to 3 stars Edit: they’re back on their pigmy portions and I can’t help but to feel like someone is stealing food from my family. Which makes me very upset. Lowered back to 1 star.
I wish I read these reviews before eating here. The management here is a joke. They gave me the wrong burrito so I asked for a refund. The cashier told us they couldn’t take the burrito back since it had been unwrapped and to just “toss it”. So we did. Then she couldn’t pull up our order and couldn’t do the refund, so we were offered MoeBucks instead. We said okay, but when she came back with the MoeBucks, she asked where the burrito was! YOU TOLD US TO TOSS IT. The manager came over and said they cannot give it to us without the burrito and I even offered to go dig it out of the trash. He then said, “per policy we cannot let you go through the trash”. So then I asked him for the phone number to corporate and he replied “1-800-Corporate” and laughed. So we just left. They make a mistake and respond by being rude and dismissive. So inappropriate and unprofessional and honestly just embarrassing on the manager’s part. Take your business literally anywhere else and avoid dealing with this disorganized mess.
Walk in with my lady and looked at the food to see it was not fresh at all. The chicken was burnt, the steak looked like dog chow, and the Lettuce was old and going bad. Plus it was not clean. So we didn't order anything. However we did call to speak to a manager. The manager was some lady that would not tell me her name, became very Defensive and rude when I explained to her. Start the food looks old and it needs to be freshened up and replaced period she also hung the phone up on me.. I will not be spending any money at this place. I don't know what happen but this place use to be good. That manager need to be fired and replaced with someone that cares.
This place has gotten ridiculous, terrible service, over priced, the female manager at night can’t compose her self as a manager, hung up on me!!!! I called to ask if my to go order could be seperated ( nachos) all I got in my nachos was meat cheese, and sour cream, my kid can’t have sour cream I asked if those THREE items could be separated because of allergies and cross contamination and they refused to do so which is mind boggling, you spend $50 for two items which you pay for and you can’t even trust that they serve you safely. Last time I checked when a person is allergic to something they by law have to make sure there are no cross contaminated items. Not eating here again.VERY SOGGY FOOD. Such a shame use to love this franchise
This Moe’s is the slowwwwest! From the time my husband got in line to the time he sat down to eat, it took 23 minutes, and there was only 8 people in front of him. That’s utterly ridiculous! Then I went to get ice for our drink, there was non. I asked the cashier if she could help and she said she wouldn’t know what to do. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said she just left for her break. Asked if she was in the building… she said no🙄. Great time to leave your job when the line is out the door! I know from the photo they look busy… I literally have no clue what they were doing on the line. We’ll be skipping this location for sure!
