Food was great. They were able to accommodate a large party on a Saturday afternoon. The service was also superb. We brought a cake for 80th birthday twins but forgot plates. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. We'll definitely be back. 👍👍👍

Good ppl & decent food. The meatballs are pretty good. I had the rigatoni. The pasta was cooked perfectly, al dente but the rigatoni shells were super thick and not much ricotta or flavor inside. But for the most part good. The marinara sauce is good but needs more garlic and something else to better balance the acidicity.

Pontillos has been hit or miss in the past, but I am happy to report that after 2 visits within the last month, they are KILLING IT! Generous portions, very fair prices, and quality ingredients done with actual care, and attention make Pontillos my favorite pizzeria in the area. I've had good service, even during dinner rush, and I always leave pleasantly surprised. As of August 2023, this is a Cortland gem! I just wish they'd switch brands for their nacho cheese to a more traditional stadium style, and they had more wing sauce flavor options. Besides those nit picks, I can't recommend Pontillos enough.

I was able to get their chicken riggie special this weekend. They are delicious!!! Huge portion and they have an amazing kick to them. Hope they add it to their growing menu. Owners are great, staff is friendly and attentive, doesn’t get better than Pontillo’s!

Love everything about this place. Pizza was excellent. Lady up front was really nice and very attentive. Getting a sub and eating on site is the way to go, chicken Parm was kinda soggy when it got back home, but that's on me. Everything was still delicious.

Absolutely delicious food! Waitress couldn't have been any nicer and prompt. We loved everything about this place. Delicious pizza and the stuffed shells were absolutely amazing also. We're going to make a few trips a year to Cortland, McGraw and Locke to the Tryals Shop for trials motorcycle parts, equipment and supplies. Beautiful area!

Got take out. A little slow, but the girl behind the counter name was Olivia. She was nothing short of amazing. Always making sure we were taken care of and got a big order correct. Amazing service by her!!!

Double Cheeseburger is what I get every time I come here. It's super good. One of the best in town, which is surprising because after all this is a pizzeria. Last time, our waiter, Carter, was super nice and enjoyed serving us and delivered us a good meal. Definitely would love to come back more often.

Our favorite pizza place in town! Was extremely thankful to find this amazing joint after moving to town! Garlic fries, ponzones - love!! Honestly, one of the only places that is consistent and provides good quality food everytime!

We visited because it was an old family memory of my husband's and I must say I know why! The crust is soft and crispy all at the same time. I have know idea how they do it! It all had a wonderful flavor and perfect cheese and sauce ratios. The inside is very clean and updated. I hope we return for some of our own family memories.

I placed an order for pickup. It was ready very quickly. The service was incredible, the workers were very kind. I drove all the way back home to enjoy some of the best wings I have ever had. Not tough, they are fall off the bone and the sauce is delicious. If I could rate higher, I would! Phenomenal!

Fantastic experience. I haven’t been to this place in over 10 years and it surpassed my memories and expectations. Staff was supper friendly and attentive, always making sure drinks were filled. Food was phenomenal. The wings,pizza,fries and chicken finger sub was amazing. Each item was better then the last I tried. I would recommend to anyone wanting to sit down and have a pizza at your table. Price is fair for what you get and a clean environment. I will definitely stop by every time I return home now.

This is my favorite pizza of all time. I’ve been to hundreds of pizza places through the years but I always have go to Pontillo’s when I come home to visit. I’ve had Neapolitan, Chicago, Detroit, Sicilian, Brooklyn, you name it, I’ve had it. Nothing compares. Got a large pepperoni the other night and it did not disappoint, it was on point, as usual. First time dining in. Server was good, food was good. The server took our leftover pizza back to package it up to go. We had put all the pieces left on one plate. We had 3 slices of meat pizza. 2 slices of veggie pizza left. When we got home we opened the box and only the meat pizza was there. Was very sad to not have my veggie slices because they were delicious! Will definitely be back but will check my items before leaving 😁

We ordered sandwiches and it made us so sick my husband had to reschedule surgery . They offered no apology or resolution After the food poisoning incident from then we tried to give them a chance so we ordered again only for the food to be inedible as it had so much hot sauce on it . When I called to complain the sickly sweet manager told me the owner would never give a refund so she offered a $60 credit . Some weeks later I tried to redeem the credit by ordering some simple things only to be told there was no credit in my name / associated to my number . Never order from this place you may get sick and if you ever complain you’ll never be reimbursed Worst restaurant in Cortland don’t go there

So im giving 5 stars because I order from here AT LEAST once a week mainly more with my work schedule and its always been fantastic I mean I literally crave it tonight i waited at work for almost an hr and a half just for a pizza which is fine but it was 30 after tip my pizza wasnt even slightly warm and didnt have the extra sauce. Took a bite and it doesnt even taste luke it came from the same place im mega disappointed dude to the past experiences I may try again at some point but right now not a happy customer.

The wings had great flavor and were very crispy. The buffalo chicken salad was mostly a big bowl of iceberg lettuce, so that was kind of disappointing. Our server Jody was excellent and very helpful even though we arrived somewhat late in the evening. Part of the kitchen closes at 9pm so you can't order everything till 10pm so make sure you plan accordingly.

This place is okay. It was recently remodeled and looks nice. Most of the food is average. Many say they have the best wings in town. Personally, I thoroughly enjoy the gluten free pizza they serve. So delicious. Despite the fact that no one ever seems to know what they're doing when we're there.

I've been here a few times and had food delivered a few times. All in all it's pretty good food besides the spaghetti in my opinion. Quality is consistent. Service inside the store is friendly but not always fast. Delivery is kinda slow almost every time but at least they bring everything you order. They're busy so be prepared for a wait...other than that I really enjoy pontillos

I love pontillos!! They were packed at 8 and the place was busy!! The awesome ladies at the front desk did amazing given the crowd of loud college kids, the pushy lady who's pizza was taking 'sooo long'... (Which they were PACKED, if it was packed anywhere else, it was as fast service if not faster than you'd get at a sit down restaurant) This review is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for everything on the restaurant end of things, but if you're reading this review, PLEASE be considerate of the workers, they shouldn't have to yell over you just to take orders over the phone or talking to the person a foot in front of them. Have a good time for sure! Enjoy the atmosphere! But remember where you are and be mindful of the workers just trying to do their job, which is enough without having to babysit customers. Great job pontillos staff!!

First time eating here. Apparently if you are dining in you go into the dining room to order. It is the only reason I scored it lower. We didn't realize and ordered out front. Place was busy. We saw a LOT of orders leave after pick up. Dining area was crowded as well. We drove an hour to get there and would do it again.

Pizza tasted good. However, I might not specifically order the pepperoni pizza again because the amount of grease makes it into a sloppy mess.

It was my 1st time at Pontillo's. I had a garlic white pizza with shaved broccoli and ham. They call the size Pontini it's 9".It wasn't a thin pizza but it wasn't thick either. I liked the pizza, but it was skimpy on the ham. Wings were a decent size, were crispy, yet moist. The service was great, she come back frequently, i think her name was Leah, I think. I would go again.

My family had pontillos for the first time in... I'm not really sure when. 4 years? 5? It was before their Groton location closed anyway. Ordered 2 large pizzas and 2 orders of wings The pizza was "tough," so you had to really tear it off to eat it, but I like it that way. Wings had a good covering of sauce, no complaints there. I was happy they didn't use oil some locations locally use. You know the type of oil: it adds NOTHING to the flavor, leaves a bad taste, and makes an absolute mess if any of it spills? Yeah, thankfully, none of that here. The biggest issue was the price. Just under $75 for the order was shocking. They have got to be the most expensive pizza place around here. To me, it's a deterrent from returning for a while, making it more of a special occasion type of place instead of regular type of place

The staff was very sweet and friendly and the restaurant was impeccably clean. Hand sanitizer pumps strategically placed near the door before entering and exited and a sign offering to bring your food to you outside if you forgot your mask. I would have given 5 stars but the pizza was blah with doughy undercooked bottom crust and dry floury outer crust, cheese was too thick and not enough sauce. I look forward to going back and trying something else because it really was a great place

Everything was good, friendly atmosphere, good service. The gnocchi was perfect (vegetarians get the pizza sauce in lieu of the sauce that comes on it) The only issue was that on one of the pizzas, the crust was really hard! I’m sure it was an anomaly.

First time here, arrived around 2pm, waited quite sometime it turns out the food was just sitting there and no one told us. I had eggplant parm and chicken wings which are very tasty, but a little too much oil on the bottom.

I do not want to day wad the worst but definitely not the best .. my wife said her pasta was 5 star worthy.. how ever the pizza I got was definitely lacking.... maybe because there was a large order for a ball team thst was picked up and mine was rushed idk just know I had alot better. 3 stars as my wife's opinion raised it from 1 star

Always good food. Their wings are the best I have ever had. Their sauces are killer. The cortland combos are priced very well for the quality of food you get as well. Update 2/8/2020: Just called to get what I normally order and was told they can no longer make a thin crust sheet pizza. I just ordered this 4 weeks ago and now I have to deduct 2 stars for lack of willing to make pizza to the customer's liking. May have to look for a new pizza place which I never thought I would have to do.

Don't order the roast beef sub, make sure you have all your items before you leave. If you like chewy crust, you'll love the pizza. That being said the fried pickles are decent. The meatball and chicken parm are really good. I'll never order pizza or a roast beef again but as long as the meatball and chicken parm stay the same I'll keep getting them on occasion.

Amazing pizza, but the service has been really slow recently. I'm fine with taking a bit for my delicious pizza, but we had to get up and pay at the counter. We were confused as to what to do. Pizza is the best though. Absolutely love it and the sitting area is really nice!

Food is usually excellent although the order was incorrect this time. Service not good. Had to get up to ask for my own refill and get more napkins. I specifically asked for 1/2 of pizza to have pepperoni and it came covered with pepperoni. In retrospect I overheard cashier and pizza maker saying something about 1/2 pontini but it did not make sense until I got the pizza and was never told of an issue. I would have asked to have all the pepperoni put on one side if that was the case. Ordinarily I make it a point to eat at Pontillos whenever I am in town.

Food was good. Service was poor. We had to go find our waitress to get the check and then she never came back to get our credit card, again we had to go up to front to pay. One of us was never asked if wanted a refill on her drink.

Everything was overcooked. The ziti I had was a concealed mess. I couldn't even eat more than a few bites. The atmosphere is nice, you can tell it was recently updated. The staff was good enough. Its cheap and so for the price you can't really complain too much I guess.

Chicken Wings ain't your thing! I got plain, I know Boring!, and they were WAY overdone. The meat was dried out. I don't recommend getting chicken wings here! (My bf got Hot and they were WAY over done also)

This place is great for pizza, wings and subs. Their other items on the menu I don't know. I had the lasagna the other night. They claim it is homemade but it tasted bland and came from a box. Also, they used a lot of noodles and hardly any meat or cheese inside. I will think twice about ordering their Italian dishes again. The waitress we had was also annoying. I'll just stick with the pizza and subs for takeout.

Food was Great!! Had the Chef Salad with Grilled Chicken. Service was ok, We waited nearly an hour in a empty restaurant. 20 wings,Four Chef Salads,Cheeseburger w/Fries, Buff Sub w/Fries and three Entrees took 50min. I work in food service, so I say nothing. Again, Food was great! Might wanna step it up in the kitchen,especially when there's three tables. Also, Seemed.like they didn't want us to sit in two 6 tops. Just not prepared for a large party in a college town full of large parties!! Might come back for a Chef Salad, definitely TO GO!!!!

Order for delivery, chicken caesar salad and slice of cookies and cream pie. Order came to $23.53 including tip. Received an hour later with no fork or napkins, and salad was very warm, croutons were soft and stale and chicken tasted old. Pie was good except that it also was warm! Definitely not worth the price!

I have been a long standing customer of pontillos for more than ten years. The food is 75% of the time always good, however over the past couple years quality has gone downhill. The delivery wait time is absolutely horrendous , EVERY SINGLE time it take over an hour to get food delivered. I’ve continued to order over the past year in hopes that it was just a period d/t staffing issues/covid/anything, but it continues to remain this way.

Pizza was okay, not great but I’m sure you could find worse. Wasn’t fully cut, so it was just tearing slices in half when you tried to separate them. Where it was cut it was so uneven. Garlic fries were submerged, literally submerged, in oil. Overall not terrible but wouldn’t go again. Service was great, super friendly.

Food is good, however, friendly and courteous service from counter staff is always lacking, to say the least. Check your orders for substitutions they won’t give you notice of. When we inquired, we were initially told, “Okay, it’s not a big deal”. In what establishment is this level of customer service ever acceptable?

I used to love eating here. They had the best food available and the prices were decent. I know COVID changed a lot of things and restaurants have been struggling. Inflation makes food hike. I get it. The quality, however, went down. At least in this establishment. I had a meatball sub and a small three cheese pizza. It was awful. There was something hard in one of the meatballs, and promptly thrown away. The cheese on the pizza tasted as if it had been spoiled. It smelled funny, that was thrown away. $30 worth of food tells me I will never order here again. Maybe the cook had issues that night, I don’t know? Keep the money, you need it more than I. I won’t order from you again, disappointed. Can’t keep everyone happy and everyone have bad days. Good luck.

This was my families go to pizza shop. We usually had it delivered, which was always a pleasant experience, drivers were always super nice and appreciative of tips. I decided to pick up my order, the price seemed high so I asked about it and Val immediately huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes and bobbing her head listing off the items and prices I ordered. I explained to her that the price didn’t match up to the online menu I looked at. She still continued to be rude. So I would not recommend and I will not be ordering from here again. Customer service is not a hard job when the customer is being polite.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE PAYING OR LEAVING. I have ordered 3 times and every signal time something is completely wrong, they aren’t the friendliest when you call back after the fact. I usually just eat it because you don’t mess with people who make your food, ever… even if you are completely right.

Came here tonight an hour before they closed and I could not order what I wanted because half the menu was closed. If you're gonna be open, serve the whole menu!!! I have givin this place many attempts at being good. Everytime I get food there's always the wrong order or it's just not good. Idk what happened to this place, I should of stayed away when I received raw chicken cutlet sub a few years back. Decided to give it another try again, received the wrong sub.

So, every Thursday my 2nd shift coworkers and myself order from a different place and eat lunch together. This Thursday we ordered pontillos and our bill was $180. They forgot my 10 Yorba wings with extra blue cheese. I called them and they said it would take them awhile so I said my next break is at 9, I can meet him then but it's only a 15min break. So at 8:57 I was outside and they didn't come by 9:15. I called them again. Told them I would come Friday before work. I go in and found out the delivery driver though it was the hospital. Doesn't even sound simular to where I work. And they even had a note of where I work for the wings this morning. The lady had to call someone who worked before to make sure it was okay to give me my wings even though there was a note for them. Finally she got the ok. So I ordered a slice as I was told my wings would take 20 minutes and asked for the slice first so I could eat it while I waited for my wings. I was hoping maybe they would comp me for the slice for my troubles but nope and I couldn't even use my card as it was under $5.00. Luckily I had $5. When they brought the slice to my table it was cold. Finally they gave me my wings but when I ate them they forgot my extra sauce. It seams whenever we order from them as a group they always forget someone's order. One time it was a pontini, another time a sub. No where else do we have this problem. I'm thinking we won't be ordering from them for awhile.

What is sad, their food is AMAZING. However, their customer service is TERRIBLE. Consistently bad. Last night I ordered pizza, sodas, and six extra blue cheese. Delivery time was said to be one hour. Ok, its Saturday, and its busy. I get it. One hour and thirty five minutes later, we are calling to see where our order is. The employee says he's on his way. Ten minutes later he arrives with our pizza and soda. Ask where our blue cheese is, said he forgot it and he would be back in a few minutes with it. Ten minutes later, I call the shop, they said hes on his way. Fifteen minutes later, he arrives. I called the store to complain about the service time. The young lady who answered the phone was not only rude, but states the gentleman is new. I asked to speak with the manager, of which she said none were available. She told me if the service is that bad, I could leave a review on google. So here i am.

BUYER BEWARE. I placed an order at 8:55 tonight. They close at 10pm. All I ordered was the chicken riggies and garlic knots. I tip 7% on my card as I have no cash. Come around right at 10pm I called to check status, I'm cool at this point I figured my order was a lil late so figured they'd wait to close to deliver. They said driver is on the way. It is now 10:30 pm. I just called to check status and reminded them inhad been waiting 25 minutes just for them to drive to me. I live on the same side of town, not even a 5 minute drive. 0 excuse. The person who answered the phone cut me off rudely and said, "we said 45min to an hour when u ordered right? Ok then" *proceeds to hang up. Sir I ordered before 9pm??? It's been way OVER an hour. Which means food is absolutely not when good

Pontillo's used to be a good place to eat or just stop to get a slice of pizza. For starters their menu has No prices and the attitude you get from workers is unacceptable and expect more attitude if you ask a question. After stopping in to place an order and leaving due to getting attitude we tried going to them one more time. We went in to just get some slices and were given attitude (their phones are more important). Our pizza wasn't even warmed up completely, the size of the slices were small at best (remember we've stopped many times before) and my husband ordered a drink and didn't receive it. When he asked about it he was told he didn't order a drink however what we paid it seemed like we paid for a drink as well. We will find some place else to get pizza in Cortland.

Update for another visit on Friday 2-24-2023. I ordered a pizza and Alfredo withe ham and broccoli . Alfredo sauce was terrible. There was no evidence of cheese and the sauce was terribly sweet,, which makes no sense.. I dont think this was made properly. It was gross.. Previous visit: Disappointing visit this Friday afternoon in April made me update my review. I am hoping that the regular staff was on vacation today. I have eaten in the restaurant hundreds of times and grabbed takeout at least a hundred times. This afternoon my order was placed online for four entrees. I arrived at my pickup time and I was told it would be a few minutes so I could wait in my truck After much time had passed, I called in and was told they would touch base with the kitchen and bring it out to the parking lot. When it was brought out, it was an hour past pickup time. My only complaint is that the entrees were not prepared well. The serving sizes were about a third of normal size at this Pontillo's. The entrees were incomplete, at best.. The descriptions on the menu listed components that had not yet been added. I have long been a loyal customer but I am extremely disappointed that shortcuts were taken to this extreme. I can only assume my original entrees went to someone else in error and were haphazardly remade in a rush. Very disappointed.

I ordered takeout 8-25-23. A pontini that was cold and like cardboard. You couldn't even taste the sauce. The boneless wings were cold as well. They were definitely commercially prepared frozen. They were all breading and hardly no meat. Hardly any sauce on the wings and the blue cheese dipping sauce was nothing but mayonnaise. This is the second subpar meal I've had there in a row. They are definitely cutting corners. I gave service average and atmosphere average because I didn't eat there. It's too bad because they used to make a decent pizza.

We will not be doing business with Pontillo’s again. We’ve been loyal customers for years and lately they take forever to deliver and can’t get orders right. My boyfriend’s son ordered sausage Alfredo tonight and they mixed it with marinara sauce. Really?!!! And that was after it took almost an hour. Pontillo’s used to be good but I don’t recommend them now. I don’t like to badmouth a business but we always have issues with our orders. I’m sorry Pontillo’s but you’ve lost 3 loyal customers.

My wife and I have ordered from Pontillo's often. But these last few times in a day between them has been awful. The first day we placed order I got a philly cheese steak sub and motz sticks. My sub was extremely soggy the toppings that cost extra were barely there, same with the cheese, and the sub roll had some hard spots despite it being soggy. My motz sticks cheese exploded out leaving them hollow. Called to complain and they told me I had two choices either send back and get remade or get a $5 store credit. We went for the credit. Two days later my wife decided to get pizza and wings for dinner. We asked for the wings to be medium and well done. When we got our meal we started with the wings. First off the wings were hot not medium. I love hot wings but not my wife. Second they were not well done. They weren't even fully cooked. So we called again this time sending them back to be remade. Which the person who took our complaint was a little rude when my wife asked for the wings to be changed to mild. We had the pizza while waiting for the wings and that was even a little disappointing as the crust was hard. It made it difficult to chew. When we got the remade wings they again were hot wings not mild or even medium which we originally asked for. They were cooked fully but not well done. Needless to say it will be a long time before we order if we order from them again.

WARNING: Stay Away From This Place Double charging for toppings and shady practices. I bought 3 slices of chicken bacon ranch pizza. $18. There us no reason 3 slices of pizza should ever cost the same as a whole pizza. 3 Normal slices $9 then $2 for specialty toppings, then $6 for chicken bacon ranch. Looks like to me they are double charging for the toppings. Now to me specialty topping is the chicken bacon ranch. What the heck. The are scamming people for more money. Now for a food review. The dough is to thick and bland with no flavor. I have had far better pizza then this place NOT RECOMMENDED. The inside of the place in the area they cook in looks run down and falling apart.

I used to love this place. Valentine's Day my husband and I went here. The waitress got flower all over in our drinking glasses and the people behind us when she brushed off her apron. There's something in my veal (I assume cockroach), I realize they don't make them there, it's prebreaded from supplier. I asked to just give spaghetti and was informed they charged me for veal meal as a deal because spaghetti alone would have cost more. And she forgot to even put my husbands french fries on the order so they came late after the rest of the food. Unfortunate that I'll not be going back.

Long time customer, live an hour away now but always order when im going through cortland. Today i get home, looking forward to my spaghetti and meatballs, i soon as i open it up i smell burnt sauce and can see burnt meatballs, 4 dinners, all burnt and ruined, 70 bucks. I call the restaurant, they offer me a partial credit. Or, i can drive the hour all the way back there and they will remake it for me. You lost a customer forever.

I’ve never wrote a food review before. But if you know anything about chicken riggies you know that pontillos riggies are the saddest excuse for chicken riggies in the history of the world. They are literally pasta and red sauce for 16 bucks. Embarrassing. Do better pontillos

The Pizza was BLAND! We ordered 2 slices a Plain and a Chicken Ranch the plain was so bland and flavorless the crust was the dominant flavor! The crust was very thick for a NY Pizza! Also the best way to describe this pizza is it's hangover pizza when you wake up the next day and you just need to to eat something to get the taste of a long night of drinking out of your mouth!!! I have had good pizza in NYC and several other places in NYS!!! At almost $8 for 2 slices???? I definitely will not eat here again!!! I only found the place because I wanted Pizza on a trip and let Google pick a place for me!!! Boy was that a mistake.

I’m really disappointed with my experience. This isn’t the first time my order has been incorrect, but I’m focusing just on this visit. My Caesar salad came without any Parmesan. I ordered a plain cheese pizza, and it arrived with chicken on it. On top of that, the salad was bagged together with the hot food, so by the time I opened it, it was already wilted from the heat. Mistakes happen, but when multiple parts of an order are wrong and basic packaging considerations are overlooked, it makes it hard to justify ordering again. I hope management takes quality control more seriously moving forward.

Did not like the pizza. Was extremely hard and the separate one slice i got smelt of egg. Garlic knots were rock hard. Asked for a small side of extra sauce since usually the pizza gets dry on delivery and they wanted to charge for it.

Its nice when you get 30 mins for lunch and you get to spend it in the lobby cause it took over 40 mins for the food I ordered. Its nice that its cold and doesnt really look like it was made with any kinda care. Glad my food was done before noticing the cook wipe his nose on his sleeve of his shirt, mind you no hairnet or anything

Ordered the steak Pontillo and garlic knots. Garlic knots were ice cold and looked like rubbery dumplings. The steak pontillo came in a ball of a mess. Steak was rubbery. Don’t recommend.

I’m from closer to the city and may have high expectations of pizza/italian food. I ordered a chicken parm sub. It was clearly a frozen chicken patty of some kind. You can always tell by that compacted gross texture. It tasted as if you bought some banquet frozen chicken patties, used ragu jar sauce and put it on a soft sub roll. I have never eaten chicken parm from a pizza place that didn’t make their own chicken cutlets. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing it away.

Long time customer- My Order was Delivered 45 minutes before closing. As my wife and I normally do, we ordered amongst other things, our favorite pizza "A mild chicken wing pizza medium size - 18$)To our shock the pizza was Disgusting and Unedible, burnt to the point of not being able to identify what was on this pizza, the chicken wing sauce was saturated all the way threw making the top of the pizza burnt and the bottom soggy! I Called today to notify the manager as they had closed shortly after delivering my order. I was told I was going to get nothing but a $5 credit for my next order. This is after being told due to it being the following day I was not entitled to anything but still was asked by the woman who answered the call "what is it I'm looking to get out of this!?" I was dumbfounded and shocked that this is how I'm being treated because I am calling the following day due to them closing. Disappointed customers that won't be ordering from them again. A company not willing to stand by the products they serve is a company that is not worth ordering food from!
