Came here on the spur of the moment one late night with a friend. Great drinks, Bowling was amazing they had themed versions of bowling. That made our bowling games way more interesting than typical lanes I have been too. After bowling we played several games of pool, and multi player vs pac-man. Great atmosphere

What a great little spot. Full bar, great beer selection, a few games for kids, the food was actually delicious. Sliders were on point. Chicken strips were massive. Overall great hidden spot with no parking fees, friendly staff, and bowling!

The chicken strips are average - they're pounded out tenders. The spinach dip is nice and homemade. The Mac n Cheese is good and the cheese sauce is made from scratch. Happy hour until 7pm. Half priced appetizers and drink specials. The pretzel needs honey mustard sauce... here's how to make your own... ask for the following ingredients from your server and mix them together. Half filled side of honey, 2 heaping butter knifes full of mustard, 2 Dijon, 2 mayo. Prefect honey mustard sauce!

What an absolute blast. We hanged at my place for my 30th bday party to eat, play nintendo games, and then we headed to our reserved spots. It was all worth it. I should have rented it for 3 hrs instead of 2. It's a smaller bowling place, but it's all a great time and intimate. We will have to do this again.

We had our work party at Tavern+Bowl and it was fantastic! Great deals on cocktails, awesome draft list and Thursday Night Football on TV. They deliver on the food, it was much more than I expected for a Bowling Center. Oh! And speaking of bowling, it's pretty epic. The lanes are nice, separated from the bar by a divider but not totally blocked off. The scoring system was easy to use compared to a lot of centers too. I'd definitely go back any time - with Time Nightclub literally across the hall from them I think that will be very soon.

The best place you could go! It gets packed on weekends but go during the lunch time and you have the place to yourselves. I would put in a reservation a few months before if your going at night or the weekend and their prices are matching the quality of the place. It's truly awesome and I cannot wait to do my boyfriends birthday there! ;) Food: prices are great! Atmosphere: punk/rock/surfer Workers: attentive - waitresses might need to step it up a notch Prices: a bit high at night but worth it to have all the selections available to you and of course perfect place to show your Newport Beach lifestyle

Decent beer selection and food is surprisingly good for a bowling alley. Mixed drinks are hit or miss. UFC events fill up insanely fast and there can be no place to sit fast.

Celebrated nieces 38th birthday here, great times by everyone. Food outstanding Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive! Thanks Tavern Bowl and your entire staff!

this review is for karaoke thursdays only. anytime that you can go act a fool in front of strangers is always a good time! the fun starts at 8PM and ends at 1AM (if you can last that long on a weeknight!) kevin, the DJ is fun and looks like Weird Al. The crowd is eclectic....you have groups of young OC kids to middle aged folks to a group of trader joe's coworkers and everything else in between. yes, its true that karaoke is more fun when you're drunk but honestly, its not always true. yes, people are drinking but no one is obnoxious or belligerent. its really a fun crowd and everyone cheers each other on. the only specials they have on this evening is 50 cent wings (on any of their grilled or classic wings) and $5 martinis. i only had their $7 red sangria (which was NOT good at all, very bland and watered down) so i switched to their house red for $6/glass. i did try their grilled wings (hickory lime and lemon pepper) and it was really good. you can ask for LIGHT sauce so that they dont douse the wings which is a really nice option. the wings also comes with ranch dipping sauce if you really need it ( i did not). its too bad they dont offer happy hour specials during this event, otherwise we would probably stay longer. they do have Trivia Night on wednesdays which starts at 8PM and happy hour specials are available all night for that event. i'm looking forward to participating in trivia night soon!

This is a great place for a fun night out! Bowling wasn't as cheap as it would be other places, but it was very fun and had a decent bar. Everyone working was nice, too. Good location with close proximity to other bars.

Love this place for UFC PPV fights with a low cover $5, and great energy. I have never bowled there, so this is for bar only. Bartenders are excellent at taking care of everyone even when its packed. The food is a completely different story, I would recommend eating elsewhere, do not go anywhere near their 12 dollar pretzel unless you have steel teeth!

The bowling was fun once she got an appropriately weighted ball and she got the hang of it. They have cool touch screens for keeping score that takes profile pictures of the bowlers.

Happy Hour deals are decent. I was able to get a few selections off the menu and a couple of beers with the damage only being about $15. Not bad. Usually that's the price of one drink only! But that was about two beers and a few food items. Food is hit and miss. Not gourmet so don't expect anything fancy but it's not terribly bad either. I had the street tacos, chicken and fries, and an artichoke dip. Pass on the artichoke next time. Not really the best. Overall, great place to hang out with friends, chill, and test your knowledge (might be tricky after a few beers).

The bowling is rad, location cool, staff was great, food needs some help. Boneless wings were tough and the 'artisan pizza' would have been better if papa johns had just delivered. Bar area good for watching the games, plenty of TVs

Pool table does not have working sticks, bowling alley keeps the balls after throwing them and sometimes you have to reset the pins because it never get replenished referring lane#2. I really like the place but the things I want to do havent been working. Wings are great tho!

We stopped for a bite before a movie. Told the waitress we were on a time limit. Waited 20 minutes for a sandwich. Told her to cancel the order that we had to leave. She brought the sandwich anyway and told us would box it up and comp our drinks. She didn't. Sandwich was good but service was not.

Food was better than the drinks, but that's not saying much. Only took a few sips from my friends drinks since the bartender insisted on ignoring me. Paid attention to my buddies who were sitting right next to me, but not me.. not sure what his problem was. He just refused to look my way. Was still kind of glad I got to experience this place. I'm always up for trying something at least once.

Service was not good. The lady at the bar tells us we have to walk up to the bar from where we were sitting to order. Why is that if we are at a restaurant would we have to go to the bar and order. Doesn't make any sense to me. Service was not good. Food was good. That was one good thing

Absolutely incredible, they are extremely unorganized and kick you out of your line, even if you're paying for it. Go to another place, save yourself a bad experience.

This place will not make over for the long run! Great concept, poorly run, OK food at a high cost.... Be careful, the maintenance on the alleys have dribbled oil and unfortunately the oil caused me to fall extremely hard onto my hip and head! Since that time I have heard repeats of people falling hard do to the Taverns sheer carelessness…… After my fall, it took forever to get anyone working at the tavern to remedy the issue and get some ice! The Tavern and Bowl should have clearly a warning on the front doors “Enter at your own risk and EXPENCE!” Truly a dive level bar!

Great atmosphere, excellent food, beautiful, cheerful server, but the most important part: the lanes were virtually unplayable. They claimed the lanes were oiled the night before but they were dry as a bone. Fine for your average novice throwing a house ball, but I’ll NEVER waste my time bowling there again. This business will fail if they don’t wise up.

Overpriced, rude staff, will pressure you to join their rewards program, spam the hell out of your phone, cancel your rewards after an arbitrary amount of time and then act like complete debutants when you ask for clarification on policy. I hope this place closes and a new entertainment spot replaces it. Literally only place in triangle square I can't stand to be in. The door men at the night club next door are less elitist.... Food for thought. Better option at block!

We sat for 30 minutes before even being acknowledged,and the place wasn't busy. They walked by us multiple times, took orders and served a big table before helping us. It was our first time and we won't go back. We were hoping to make it a weekly date night place, but that won't be happening.

Hated it. The service was poor and there was no system to keep track of guests. Sit at the bar so you don't get forgotten. We waited forever for every aspect of this meal, every aspect. None of the food was very impressive. Bacon Jam was really not good. I would seriously go somewhere else.

Unable to reach on the phone after trying to book reservations for a Monday of all times. The website says call and then the phone says go to the website. Missed out on this company party.
