Loved this place! The view is incredible and the terrace has a great vibe. The food was perfect, both the pizza and the mixed grill were delicious. Portions are quite big, so come hungry! Easy parking and super friendly, accommodating staff make it a 5-star experience.

I visited Ristorante Pizzeria Antica Osteria Il Rifugio today and had a wonderful experience, especially thanks to our waiter Giuseppe! He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always with a warm smile. His positive energy truly elevated our visit. Service like this is rare these days – thank you, Giuseppe! We’ll definitely be back! 🇮🇹
We were very pleasantly surprised! The stuffed seabass was delicious! Mixed meat with potatoes too! Some rest from all the pizza and pasta in the last days :) We will definitely go back there these days.
I have no idea why this place is not 5 stars. The gentleman in charge is especially helpful, if ruff around the edges, this restaurants passion for food and quality is apparent if everything they do. We had the florentine steak and it was a total winner. Our host recommended local wine and you can never miss with Chianti. 5/5
The food in the restaurant was super delicious, and the location was perfect for a sunset walk. However, the restrooms were a bit hard to find and couldn’t be locked.
We booked a table on Friday on the provided phone number for a Sunday dinner. When we arrived at opening 7pm, only 2 tables were occupied and the waiter escorted us to a table of which he asked if we would be okay with. We were fine with it, but it's nice that they have an option to change if you would want another one. We went with a small size dog which was welcomed by all staff :) We ordered the Florentine steak plate that you can see on the picture. It was 60 euros for 2 person on the menu information (they forgot to mention that the potatoes and veggies coming with it would charge extra so be mindful that we payed around 80 euros for that dish). Still it was worth the money as it was beyond delicious and also we were hardly able to finish (though we are both oversize and have appetite :)). My mother had a pasta dish with beef ragu if I'm not mistaken and that was amazing as well. She is a picky eater and found it delish. We wanted to get some wine with our order, we don't like dry wines but oh well it's Tuscany so we wished for just one glass each (I was driving so I couldn't drink much alcohol) and the waiter talked us into buying a whole bottle (really it was our fault, and Italian waiters are like that if you haven't noticed on your previous travels :P so all good) My parents had a cappuccino and a decaf espresso after the meal. we ended up paying around 160 euros for the whole thing for 3 of us. Location and building also worth the visit, we took some nice pictures and you can also see San Gimignano off in the distance once you make your way back to the parking lot, which is dusty but plenty. Would visit again to try other dishes.

Lovely pizza restaurant found because we couldn't get into San Gimignano due to Italian holidays. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious great accidental find. There is a large menu with pizzas ranging from 5-12 Euros. Child friendly allowed us to split a pizza between the children and even added Olives at no extra cost. Lots of parking and baby changing area. Thank you for our lovely lunch
Wow is all I can say. Great prices and 5 star food. The pasta Raghu was to die for. Pizza fantastic. Service and staff delightful and outdoor eating beautiful/romantic. Great for a lunch or dinner.
We were there around noon for lunch - alone. The nature all around is great, there is really nice view. The food was excellent. Fair price. But the best was service - Geremio is really friendly and nice person.
Great atmosphere, fantastic pizza and other food, brilliant service and location. I am quite picky, but didn’t find any negative here. The only annoying thing are mosquitos like anywhere around at this time. Fabulous place I would love to visit anytime. Thanks for your hospitality.
We only had pizza. The meat was the table adjacent to us All were absolutely fabulous… highly recommended. Great service, great food, great ambiance , great view of San Gimignano from here too About 3 km out if San Gimignano but well worth the drive
Giuseppe was wonderful, along with all the other servers! They accommodated our large party of 13. It was a fantastic meal to end our incredible trip to Tuscany.

nice place with very good pizza, we were there 3 times in total, and we were satisfied. tiramisu unfortunately a big disappointment, completely tasteless, but the ice cream dessert was good. tagliatelle and risotto were delicious, the staff had it in good hands, it's a must visit, and I recommend the pizza!
Admittedly, the pizza was excellent—better than we expected. However, everything else was fairly average, particularly the service. It felt as though our presence was an inconvenience to the waitstaff, yet when an Italian group arrived later, they were greeted warmly and treated with much more enthusiasm. I could overlook the mediocre food, but the customer service definitely needs improvement.
I would definitely come back if the communication was a bit better we ordered a starter for two thinking that it would cost us 28€ all together but after receiving the bill we felt a bit confused and unfortunately disappointed because of a language barrier. The wine is wonderful but the starter that we ordered was underwhelming and seemed a bit pricey for what we had initially expected. Overall service was wonderful but please check twice before ordering because we felt confused.
The name of this restaurant is misleading Pizzeria’ as the owner refused to serve us pizza. He made us choose food instead from his à la cart menu. This food was tasty, but small portions and expensive.
We visited il rifugio twice and on both occasions, the food was good, but the service was sub-par which brought my rating down to 3 stars. The pici cacio a pepe and the pizza were really good, so it's a shame the service isn't up to the same level.

We were looking for a good pizza restaurant near San Gimignano outside the usual tourist areas. Nice location with a great view. The pizzas were good, not extraordinary but we would have been happy with the food if not for the service. We didn’t have a reservation and from that moment on, we felt we were not welcomed. The place was far from being busy, but we were served rather rudely by the male waiter. If you didn’t want us there, it was easy to turn us around for lack of reservation. We spent the week in your area, and all your neighboring peers at the other restaurants were very welcoming.

Maybe it was just an unlucky batch, but our pizza was absolutely unsatisfactory, it was a pita and not a pizza: dense, dry and completely tasteless. The quality of the tomato and mozzarella was also low. The location is nice though.
