C'è tranquillità e grande gentilezza da parte di Yoko in sala e un menù che soddisfa i palati in cerca di antichi sapori. Come da fama consolidata del Tranvai i fritti sono perfetti e con gli altri piatti, anche vegetariani, fanno un menù autenticamente toscano. Ritornerò appena possibile.

Io non avevo mai assaggiato la Ribollita, ma dipo averla ordinata qui viene voglia di mangiarla a colazione, pranzo e cena! Squisita. Degno di lode anche il baccalà con porri e patate. Buoni il rognone ed i dolci. Gnocchi al cinghiale il piatto meno interessante. Atmosfera conviviale e servizio cortese.

Ho messo cinque stelle a tutto, perché la fiorentina che abbiamo mangiato era meravigliosa. Il servizio è consono all'ambiente rustico di una trattoria di Firenze che esiste da 70 anni!! Anche il vino della casa era apprezzabile. Ci siamo andati disperati perché, non trovando parcheggio, si erano fatte le 14,30, e pensavamo di non riuscire a pranzare, mentre il titolare ci ha fatto preparare una bella fiorentina di circa 1,3 kg che ci siamo sbafati in due!!! Consiglio di andarci se siete da quelle parti.

This is it. The real deal in all ways. There is a reason the door is covered in award stickers. Authentic (filled with locals), very interesting menu - genuinely didn’t know what to go for and could have a had it all, but the fried artichokes (soo light and delicious!), polenta with lardo (melted in my mouth) and Osso Bucco (no words. Incredible) were next level. Very grateful to have had this experience whilst in Florence (local friend recommended).

✨ Al Tranvai – A Hidden Gem in Florence We first discovered Al Tranvai completely by accident during our first visit to Florence. We had planned to dine at a nearby restaurant that turned out to have an impossibly long wait, and my husband — taking charge of his wife’s hanger emergency — stumbled into Al Tranvai instead. The restaurant was cozy and bustling, but managed to seat us without too much of a wait. We sat outside, close to neighboring tables filled mostly with locals. Two Italian gentlemen at the next table struck up a conversation with us, and we soon learned that one of them was a chef at another nearby restaurant. That was our first clue that we had landed somewhere special. They were so gracious, helping us navigate the handwritten Italian menu and even sharing some of their dishes with us. We bravely sampled a local specialty — kidneys — not quite to our taste, but when in Rome (or Florence!), right? My husband and I shared a few Tuscan classics: ribollita (a hearty white bean and bread soup with vegetables), arrabbiata linguine, and peposo, a slow-braised beef with black pepper and red wine. Each dish was simple yet full of soul — proof that great food doesn’t need to be complicated. We decided to secretly pay for our new friends’ meal along with ours. When they found out, they surprised us in return with a bottle of their favorite wine to take home — a gesture we’ll never forget. It was a truly magical evening. A year later, we were lucky enough to return to Florence. I chose Al Tranvai as the place to meet my Italian cousin for the very first time. The restaurant was just as warm and charming as we remembered, and the meal just as wonderful. I hope we can keep coming back to recreate the incredible memories we’ve made here.

Best meal we had in Florence. It’s the type of restaurant RS would like- menu in Italian only, locals eat there, there is a sheet of daily specials and the friendly owner comes out to take your order. Every dish we ordered was good! Good service too…Cleaned the plates for the dishwashers.

If you're spending the day at Piazza di Pitti take the 15 minute stroll for some authentic tuscan fare. I was there for the Trippa and it did not disappoint. The house chianti was as good as any we've had. We had quite the array of dishes but my favorite was the Penna alla Chiantagianna. The portions were perfect.

Best start to our first meal in Florence! We got the following and I ⭐️’d the ones I highly recommend: penne alla chiantigiana (pasta with sausage sauce and red chianti wine) tagliata di manzo (sliced beef steak) ⭐️ petto d’anatra con salsa di vino (duck breast w red wine sauce) tiramisu ⭐️ There’s an outdated English menu if you need it. Very local Italian restaurant, food was amazing. I’d visit again!

Excellent experience!! I ate here solo three different times without a reservation. I would have eaten here more but without a reservation on the weekend they were full. Same staff every time. Able to accommodate me speaking English only. I tried many delicious dishes but the artichoke taglierini was my favorite. I highly recommend!!!

Cozy locals spot , the food here was great very flavorful. Felt like a very authentic Italian home cooked meal making you warm and happy. -Aribatta was delicious and had a great spice to it - I ordered penne alla chiantigiana . This has been by far the best pasta flavor blaster I have had since Italy ! I had to eat one at a time to savor the flavors . Staff was friendly and energetic and so happy great spot and worth a visit! Even the locals I believe were helpful and friendly and gave us there recommendations!!

LOVED our dinner here the other night! Traditional Tuscan cusine, small, cosy resturant with great atmosphere. The waiter was super helpful and friendly and gave us great recommendations. I had the fungi pasta (cant remember its name) and I literally cant stop thinking about the mushrooms they were the best I have ever had - seriously! My partner have the red wine sausage pasta and my mother in law had the chicken which were both delicous. Food came quick and super fresh We will be back here when we are in florence for sure!

Excellent Tuscan cuisine and very kind service. Really small restaurant and significantly understaffed or at least very slow service much like the rest of Italy but the 5 stars is for the atmosphere and cuisine. The Osso Bucco was amazing and so was the liver pate and beef strips. Michelin 2017 and 2018.

I love the fun look of this place and the homey, friendly service. The choices are plentiful and pleasing. The only doubt I have is in the amount of herbs - such as thyme and parsley - that were used, as they came off pretty strong in all the dishes I tried. But, I’d love to go back and I’m sure I will!

Cozy, charming, and utterly delicious. It's a little off the beaten path, on the other side of the Arno at the eastern limit of the recently hipsterized section. An utterly local place, with the menu on a chalkboard, and no more than a handful of tables. The food is spot-on though, changing with the seasons yet remaining firmly decidedly Tuscan. Have a go at the carciofi fritti (fried artichokes) that are almost tempura in their oil-free crispness, the polpettini, and, well, pretty much all the pasta - you won't regret it!

Closing time was approaching and we gave them a call to see if they'd take us. They did take us and we embarked in a trip to amazing lands. I have been to Firenze many times and it's hard to find a good place to eat. We had lasagna, tortellacci ai porcini, tagliata di manzo and pollo. We also had bruschetta and fiori di zucca fritti. The fiori di zucca are heaven, the pastas are fantastic and the meat is great. We will come back.

Great little Trattoria and a short and pleasant walk from the Ponte Vecchio. Very local and fresh dishes in season, with good vegetable options for those tiring of pasta. I started with shaved artichokes and parmigiano, and it was delicious. Osso Buco was on the specials board, and wonderfully tender and flavorful. Nice desserts. It looks like almost entirely locals frequenting the place, which is a great sign of the quality. Highly recommended.

Sono stata un venerdì sera in questa trattoria con il mio ragazzo. Il locale è diviso in due sale, una sala interna con quattro tavoli e una sala all'ingresso con qualche tavolo in più. Lo spazio è molto piccolo ma molto carino, ben curato nei dettagli, dalle tovagliette con la stampa dell'insegna, al resto. La cosa un po' strana è sedersi su sgabelli di legno molto vicini agli altri tavoli, ma dopo poco questa sensazione di novità scompare, e si lasci posto ai cibi. Il dolce per mio parere è sopra la media, fantastico il budino di castagne! Per il resto tutto buono, si sente che la preparazione è ben curata, forse l'essere un piccolo locale aiuta molto. Il prezzo è medio, né basso ma nemmeno alto: prendendo due antipasti (antipasto toscano e polenta fritta con lardo), due primi (gnudi e pappardelle), e due dolci (torta mele e crema e budino di castagne), con l'acqua e un quarto di vino della casa si è speso 57€. Consigliato!

L' insegna ricorda i tempi in cui il tram a Firenze già c'era, almeno fino al 1956, con tutta la sua aura romantica, certo molto diversa da quella fili per l'aria di oggi ( un tempo le aste che davano corrente le chiamavano trolley). Sulle pareti del piccolo grazioso locale alcune foto richiamano quegli anni in una coreografia in cui la lunga ...presentazione di fiaschi di vino (vuoti) sottolinea in qualche modo la tradizione toscana legata a vigne, tini e profumi di vendemmie festose e canterine. Pochi tavolini, spazi essenziali, gradevole il vino della casa ( 1/2 litro in caraffa griffata 'tranvai"). Buono (molto) anche il lesso rifatto, e di porzione abbondante (in tegamino caldo), come le linguine all'arrabbiata... arrabbiate al punto giusto. Un fetta di torta alle mele ( che noi preferiamo senza cannella), due bottiglie d'acqua, pane, un caffè forte fatto con la Moka. Coperto, con tovaglia di carta ma tovagliolo grande in tessuto ( 2 E), conto finale 62 Euro ( x 2 persone), prezzo più o meno allineato nella fascia del 'tipico' medio-alto. Servizio gentile e premuroso della cameriera ( che conosciamo, comunque meritevole di citazione). A/C, e piccolo dehors a strada verso la parte a giardino di Piazza Tasso, a 15 minuti a piedi da Ponte Vecchio nell' Oltrarno (zona limitrofa alla Basilica del Carmine, con i magnifici affreschi di Masaccio). Frequentato soprattutto da fiorentini abituali, ma pure da turisti non solo di passaggio. Locale simpatico. La sera, con i 38 gradi che ci stiamo ritrovando in questi giorni di fine giugno, forse ancora di più.

Posto che merita! Tutto buono! Dai primi ai dolci, tutto fatto da loro. Il primo maltagliato all’anatra, tagliolini ai carciofi e gnocchi al cinghiale. Porzioni abbondanti. Ottima la bistecca, cotta al punto giusto e tenera. Ottimo anche i peposo e i contorni. Prezzo giusto. Il proprietario in gamba e simpatico. Insomma imperdibile. Provatelo e anche del conto rimarrete contenti. Ci ritorno

Cibo buono e molto gustoso L'ambiente era stretto I prezzi erano alti in base alla quantità Mi ha dato noia il cuoco che aveva appoggiato la gamba sul banco dove si fa la pizza e si cucina insomma. Quindi una stella in meno per questo. L'altra e per il prezzo alto.

Trattoria tipica fiorentina con ambiente molto caratteristico. Cibo buono ma non eccezionale, crostini neri con parecchio cappero, funghi fritti parecchio oliosi, lesso rifatto condito con timo!? Servizio normale prezzo nella media.
