The food and service were great. One of the best Mexican buffets I have been to.

I had to change my review, I am in love with their pizza and their carne asada tacos on Tuesdays. I gave the service a four because even though I get my drinks pretty quickly and made pretty well, I am a regular now and such is life. For newcomers, I don't think they get the same treatment. The atmosphere is all right. It's a Mexican cantina and bar, not much else to say about it. Come by on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday karaoke, and Fridays and Saturdays for regular karaoke.

Amazing food, great staff! Food is authentic. Very good prices. I love their brunch. Karaoke is so fun on Tue, Thur, Fri, and Sat. Great place to have a nice family dinner or hang out with friends for drinks. Michelada is the best!

Great Cuban fusion food and drinks. It's very busy and cramped, but the food is good.

First timer. I went on a karaoke night. It was super cool. My friend that brought me here is her go to spot. She told me about her enchiladas. They were bomb. I didn’t check their beer selection but mixed drinks were good.

1st time the show was expectacular, food delicious, pricey, but all the staff was great, friendly and definitely I recommend this place, especially to go see "JUAN GABRIEL " Loved Only one thing, "VEGETARIAN PEOPLE DO NOT EAT BEANS AND RICE, IS COOK WITH LARD"

First time trying this place for My Dads Birthday🎈& we all loved it they sang Happy Birthday🎂 the food taste Really Good 👍 everything we ordered we Enjoyed it! It’s a Yes for us ! We will be going Back !

If you’re looking for a place that actually delivers on both Taco Tuesday and brunch, Mariposas Restaurant & Cantina is it. Taco Tuesday here is unlike anywhere else. They bring your tacos to the table with your protein of choice — and then you head over to the taco bar to dress them exactly how you want. It’s the best of both worlds: freshly prepared tacos plus full control over toppings. It turns a simple taco night into something interactive and fun. Weekend brunch is seriously on point. The food is delicious and feels authentic, not watered down for a buffet crowd. And let’s talk about the chile rellenos — it’s rare to find a good one at a buffet, let alone a fresh one. These were legit. Light batter, flavorful filling, and clearly not sitting under a heat lamp all morning. They also have a taco bar at brunch (yes, please), ceviche, and just about anything else you’d hope to see when you show up hungry. This is not a “grab a plate and be polite” kind of brunch. This is a bring stretchy pants situation. If you want generous portions, real flavor, and a fun, lively vibe — this spot is worth it.

We attended the Saturday brunch and Omgee this is my new favorite spot. I promised my partner that I wouldn’t record but that I would enjoy the moment lol however I will definitely return and have him take some good shots 😉 The atmosphere was beautiful, the place was clean and aesthetic. Beautiful colors 🎉 The food was delicious, it was buffet style and the frijoles charros 10/10 && honorable mention to the chilequieles bar and omelette bar chefs ✨💕 The buffet food was delicious, the proteins were plenty.I live about an hour away but it’s worth the drive. Our servers were attentive, friendly and welcoming. Our drinks were made with love, I had 2 spicy cucumber cocktail and rob the bottomless mimosas. Our server was on it with the refills for the bottomless mimosas. Best brunch buffet in Covina ✨ I can see this growing to something grand. Like a breakfast buffet featuring meals from different parts of Mexico. 🇲🇽 Thanks for the great experience.

We came for Saturday buffet brunch. We showed up at 9 and had the place to ourselves. Everything was really flavorful and tasty, and the staff was wonderful. Our kids loved it. The breakfast sausage was surprisingly really good too.

Very clean, friendly staff. Micheladas were very good. And the flan was great. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the waiter got my friends order wrong twice. He was nice, just didn't understand.

Cute place. We got the pozole tacos and a chicken quesadilla. The taco was really good and the quesadilla was basic, the 3 sauces that come with it were the best part. Husbands mai Thai was huge and yummy.

The food at this restaurant has great flavor. Well priced and the staff is very nice. This was our first time and we will definitely be going back. Also they in ave a kids eat free deal Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturday but only during specific time frames but still a great deal if you make it on time. Really like this place.

Nice place to enjoy some Mexican food. Good beer and drink selection. Staff is pretty attentive. Bar section is nice too. You can do karaoke and also enjoy the DJ music while dancing the night away. Located in a strip mall location so not too much parking but plenty of street parking available.

I had the pleasure to enjoy their Brunch Buffet back in April. And I was very pleased with their selection of food; from handmade tortillas for tacos and menudo to the omelets with whatever you like in them. And also their pastries...yum! The only reason it's been so long, is the fact that I was visiting my family. At the time I loved in Akron Ohio. Boy did I miss great Mexican food.

The restaurant was under new management there was a sign posted. We walked in and before the waitress sat us she mentioned if I can pay cash or zelle because credit card system was down. We were seated and I ordered the combo plate and selected the cheese enchilada and potato taco. It came with rice and beans. I received my food and instead of the cheese enchilada I was given chicken. I was hungry and didn't say anything. The food was good. I would try this place again.

I give it 4 stars because the food was yummy! Quick service. But the place has low clientele. For having a Dj there was hardly anyone there. Stafd was friendly and attentive. Aside from that they have great drinks! I recommend La Reina.

This place has been several different restaurants throughout the last couple years. This is it's most recent change & I can say it's the best improvement thus far. Good staff & the food has improved as well. I think I'll be going back this time.

It was ok it was cold inside and at first the server was nice but she gave us an attitude from there on I just didn't want to be there anymore we ordered not expensive stuff which we thought it was not expensive but when we got the bill it was over $60 I don't think that's cheap We might not go again When we walked in we saw a lot of tables available but they told us to wait like a few minutes we waited maybe 2 or 3 minutes

We went in for lunch and the food was actually excellent we had an appetizer and salads that were delicious as where the entrees. We went in for lunch and unfortunately the waiter was out of his depth. All of our entrees were delivered about 5 to 15 minutes apart which is unacceptable for a party of four. He would come to our table and take 3 drink orders only bring back one and when we asked about the other two drinks he insisted that we never ordered them. He also ignored one person in our party to the point that he didn't even take her order. She sarcastically let him walk away thinking that he might come back to bring our drinks but after he took 15 minutes to come back she finally told him that she never placed an order and was again presented with a lame excuse. However, the manager did comp the food that showed up too late for the people in our party to finish and he apologized for the unpleasant experience with the waiter. Like I said, the food was absolutely delicious and I would certainly dine at this restaurant again and take a chance on getting and improved experience relative to service. If I could give the food a separate rating I would definitely give it 5 stars

Same atmosphere as Kalaveras. Great tasting food. Service not so good. Over charged for happy hour beers, listed price was $5, charged $7. Got some drink orders wrong. Waitress was unable to split the check, even when asked before hand.

Food was good but service was horrible! Asked for coffee it was cold, got a fountain drink. Asked for salt never came back with it had to get it from other customers! Came once at end to sed if we needed something else! I’m still here but will def not come back! 😡

I was seated relatively fast but it took 20 mins to get a drink and an hour to get 3 tacos & guacamole. The asada was okay but the pozole taco was delicious. However that was pretty much the only highlight of going here. Also there was only 3 options of non alcoholic drinks because the soda machine was broken but then they ran out of the horchata I was drinking. I'd come back only for the pozole taco but it's not worth the long wait for.

We visited on Taco Tuesday and our experience was ok. Our food server could have put more effort into our experience. They forgot a few details and we had to pry information about the menu out of them. We also noticed we didn’t get chips and salsa like all the other tables - I thought we weren’t given any because we were there for taco Tuesday. The agua Fresca mango was very watery and underwhelming so we sent it back and got a sprite instead. So then I wondered how good could the cocktails be? On the tab they charged us for an agua Fresca but they said it costs the same as a sprite (is a sprite really $5). The tacos were ok but I wouldn’t go back. We found the concept of a salsa bar a little unhygienic since tacos are eaten with your hands and people undoubtedly lick their fingers and return to the salsa bar. Our tummies were upset after the meal if you know what I mean, meat must have been old. If you are looking for legitimate Mexican food, I wouldn’t go here. For such a big nice space they have a lot of area for improvement.

Honestly food is not good need a better chef's order carne asada and the meat taste over seasoning it's a place to drink but need better food

Food is berry bad , I order a burrito carne asada and the meet was old and tuff, I send it back and got enchiladas instead and still there were bad , and I still got charge for the burrito .

Drinks and food took too long, and waiters kept forgetting orders. I’m not sure if they’re understaffed or what.

They had ONE waitress for all of the tables, so it was no surprise when she made a mistake in our order and brought me something i didn't order and when she refilled our cups she mixed them up. I honestly think she was doing her best at having about 15 tables all of them full and her being the only waitress. With that said the food also took awhile just to get it and it wasn't the best, had much better from smaller places. Overall i think the waitress did a good job trying to keep up with everything but on the other hand the cheff could of done better.

They went from a badazz restaurant name KALAVERAS☠️ to Mariposas🦋 noooo... Just had this place for Taco Tuesday and I must say if you're into cold food...well look no further this is the spot for you. Man my tacos looked so good I was like yup! Man my guy those tacos were colder than the temperature in my refrigerator. Cold Tortillas and cold meat nope! Real authentic Mexican Tacos are not cold. It's like they changed their name they changed their food as well. It'll be a no-go for me from now on.

So disappointed! Took awhile to get out outrageously expensive drink. Food was mediocre and they have a thief that works there. My friend left her sunglasses on the table when she got home she called them and was told they were there and will be put away for her she went back and was told they are gone. Just like that no explanation, nothing. So disappointed in the whole experience!!!

Go there if you want to be served as second class citizen.

Walked in and it was empty, no one greeted us. We sat down and finally someone came over and took our drink orders 30min later they came back. We finally ordered food which took another 40minutes, we never or waters that we asked for, the beer was warm. We got up to leave because it took too long. The server was nice and remained pleasant even when we were upset about the horrible service

First and last time here. The service is the worst. You’re better off anywhere else but here.

I don't like to be cheated, do you?? Check your bill if you go here!! When I pointed out the error, the manager ARGUED with me!! Then she said she corrected the error when she did not. After half an hour of this nonsense, I left cash in the correct amount and left.

Never again we gave it a try, Over priced for very bland food and service was out to lunch cause we didn't get service A/C must've been broken hotter inside than it was outside very bad experience should've just went to Snap "E" Tacos last but not least as me and my wife were walking out the manager had the nerve to yell out in Spanish "did they pay their bill.!! Wow.!!

If I could give it a -⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, I would! Decided to give it a try for taco Tuesday. There were a few people dining, but not many at all. We were seated right away, but that was the end of our service. Nobody came back to take our order. After sitting there for a long time we decided to get up and leave. They did us a favor. We ended up at our usual restaurant which always has great service and food is always good.

The buffet food was good. The only thing I didn't appreciate was changing the charge price of my bill. It was 2 adults and 2 childs. First my bill said $114 they charge 3 adults and 1 child, I tip 20%. I later check my receipt and realized they charge me 4 adults changing the amount of my first receipt given. I won't be coming back to this place 😒

Mariposas on the corner of Arrow and Grand. Food was okay but I never got my chips and salsa some people did we didnt I was upset about that. The service was horrible waited and waited and waited these servers are not on it not happy to help I was very unhappy with the service of the main servers. The cleaning guys was on it they did great job I had to use them to help us but the main servers horrible not going back. Also the disco club flashing bright rotating lights in our face was annoying the music was too loud this is not a place to talk its more of a disco bar then a restaurant. Its a never again for us !

Horrible service staff disappeared the whole time. Food was not good and cold. Could not even get my water refill. They didn't have my reservation when I confirmed twice and called in too. The place was empty maybe 7 people there so no excuse for bad service. I do not recommend this place at all. Food took long to come out .
