Tavern in the Square - Cranston

I made a reservation through OpenTable, and the staff was awesome and followed my accommodation request. I didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was awesome as well. As usual, the food and drinks were great too. You can never go wrong by going here!

We loved this restaurant when we die in there for the first time last weekend. Garden City is such a beautiful area and tavern is large with many tables and great comfortable safe seating. The food was delicious and they had menu items for every type of eater including children that made everyone really happy. The cocktails were absolutely delicious and the beer menu was extensive. We would definitely return there as it’s great for date night or dinner out with the family

Truffle tots were rich with flavor and the quesadillas left is wanting more. They have a great selection of draft beers and cocktails. I ordered the pomegranate sangria which was so tasty, I ordered a second one. Overall, nice decor, clean and friendly staff.

I’ve been to other Tavern in the Squares and never had a bad experience but this was my first time at this particular location. The atmosphere was great, for a Wednesday night it was very busy but there was no trouble seating us. The staff were super nice and the food came quick. The waitress brought me a new water without me even asking. It was hard to choose just one menu item but the food was delicious. Would recommend.

The menu was diverse and had lots of interesting flavors. All the fruits and veggies were very fresh. Vegetarians and vegans can easily order here. The executive mimosas is very delightful. The restaurant is very busy but the wait time was just shy of 20 min.

HIGHLY recommend the truffle brussel sprouts. Finally, a place that actually makes them crispy!! The southwest Tots were also delicious. My Blue Burger was made perfectly, service was quick, bartenders were quick and friendly. Sangria was as expected! Will be back.

I've been several times now and have never been disappointed with food or drinks! Everything from brunch to dinner is delicious! The blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes are phenomenal! Cornflake chicken, pizza, quinoa bowl, and I love the miso honey chicken! It's all great!

I had the Steak with Mashed Potatoes. It was pretty darn good but my favorite was the truffle tots and that pumpkin pizza! Not gonna lie I never had pumpkin on a pizza but it was extremely delectable. The steak and mash wasn’t anything out of this world though. But nonetheless 5 stars! The service is always incredible there. At least 5 people wished me a Good night and said goodbye as I left.

Anthony is the best server! He was personable and fun and really made my hermit friend laugh which is so important because she doesn’t often leave her house. We will be requesting him in the future and will only eat here if he is our waiter. He is literally the best.

I really like this place. Good vibe and decor. Simple but great food options. Good drink selection and great service. Loved the feta dip.

Dinner 2 nights in a row. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was great both nights. The bar is enormous. Plenty of beers on tap.

My absolute FAVORITE place to go for dinner! I do have to say that some of the options are a bit more on the pricier side, but I feel as though it is entirely worth it!

Mary was wonderful!!! She gave me grated cheese for my meal (read my mind) and was so nice and outgoing!

The staff was extremely accommodating to the size of our party. We needed some tables moved so we could better situate the group for a birthday dinner and it was done immediately. Our waiter Miles was extremely courteous and professional and the food outstanding.

Love this place! The food is so delish and the service is always wonderful. Our server was so sweet, nice, and considerate. She was also very responsible with checking our IDs for cocktails. Would definitely come back!

Great experience overall! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. My tuna bowl was pretty good—fresh, flavorful, and nicely put together. Drinks were well made, and everything came out in a timely manner. A solid spot for a casual meal or a night out. I’d definitely come back and recommend checking it out.

Everything was really good. Music was set a bit loud and made it challenging to converse. Nevertheless, meal was great. Burgers were cooked to perfection and the nachos as an appetizer were great.

Ordered the Korean chicken and parmesean fries. The sandwich was very saucy. The fries were ok.

Met my wife and daughter here for a late lunch. Parking was pretty good, and the establishment looked upscale and high end from the car park. There's a great bar with lots of large screen TVs. It's no doubt easy to find your game. The food was ok. I had a turkey burger with fries it wasn't bad, although I found the apple slices a little odd. Guess I wasn't expecting it as my wife had ordered it prior to my arrival. All in all, an edible meal and a reasonable experience.

A tavern that offers your standard fair of burgers and other dishes. It's above your standard chain quality and worth trying once. There is plenty of parking available near this location.

Great food, the fried pickles were really hot- a couple of us burned our tongues! The sauce served with those was delicious! Wanted that sauce on everything! I was pleasantly surprised that there was lots of chicken in the quesadillas! Those were tasty. More salsa though- too small of a serving for the amount of quesadillas. My steak salad had corn, beans, avocado, romaine lettuce and tortilla strips- what’s not to like? I enjoyed all of that plus the steak which was perfectly well done- yup gotta have it well done!!! I’ll be back for sure! My friends enjoyed their steak salad and the quinoa bowl. The cilantro ranch and lemon something or other salad dressing smacked!!! So good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. Staff was great and the food was delicious. We had the classic pizza and shared it as an appetizer which was great and I had the chicken quesadilla with guacamole and sour cream. Excellent.

<2022 April 22> I went in for some appetizers today; ordered Nachos and buffalo cauliflower. Nachos came out slightly burned and a little greasy. Dropping a star from my previous review; hoping this sports bar could keep a closer eye on the finger foods. (Pics uploaded) <2019 Dec> Great ambience, ample space and hospitality. Food is great and has big TVs to watch sports as well.

After a late night shopping trip, we were looking for a place to have dinner. We sat at the bar, she got a sangria as we figure out our order. We got two starters, Southwest Tots and Crispy Brussels Sprouts with black garlic truffle aioli because we couldn't agree on an appetizer, they were both delicious. Then we proceeded with our entrees, I ordered the Bayou Chicken Pasta with no jalapeños and she ordered the Blackened Bacon Blue Burger. All of our dishes had a generous portion so we had plenty to bring home with us.

Food was cooked and seasoned well. The selection is limited. The margarita pitcher was nice. Many TVs to enjoy sports with your meals and drinks.

It's a nice sports bar type restaurant where family with children can also be comfortable. The restaurant is huge different seating styles. The bar which is located in the center of the restaurant has more than 40 seats and several tvs showing a variety of viewing options. The menu was not very long but had enough options to choice from. What was notable was their selection of vegan and gluten free meals. GREAT!!! The drink menu had a nice variety of beverages including beers, cocktails, ciders, spiked seltzers and non-alcoholic drinks. It's best to make a reservation because this place is busy. I learned the hard way after not being able to get a seat because i didn't have a reservation. The service was fast The meal was hot and tasty. The pickles would have been perfect if they weren't so salty, but the guacamole and chips were so fresh it made up for the pickles. The burgers were juicy and i could taste real flavor in the non alcoholic fruit drinks. The prices are are competitive and the service was good. The touch free bathroom exist was a nice. This restaurant is located in a shopping plaza with ample parking. I had a good time! I know it's hard to delivered excellent service during these trying times. These people did! Bravo!!!

Went to Tavern in the Square in Garden City with two others. We ordered Baked Feta Dip and Soutwest Tots to start. I liked the tots more than the dip. They had more flavorbeing covered with bacon, corn, cheese, and more. I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich with sweet potato fries and the raspberry preserves on the side. The sandwich was sweet yet flavorful. The fries were cooked perfectly and delicious. The only thing about the sandwich I did not like was the French toast bread. I do not normally like french toast, and had it been in the description, I most likely would not have ordered it. The two others in my party ordered the Tavern burger and enjoyed those. The waitress was on point, and the atmosphere had a rather country feeling to it. Overall, it's a good place to grab a bite, especially if you are in the area.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and saw the place was pretty crowded. We were able to get seats at the very large bar with loads of taps and large TV's playing sports. They have a good beer selection and interesting cocktails. We started with the wings which were delicious and my wife got a Ceaser salad while I ordered the quinoa bowl which I loved. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone in the area

I’ve been to a couple different locations and this one is by far my favorite. Friendly and fast service with a great ambiance!

Latest visit: very good chicken sandwich, excellent teriyaki broccoli. Very busy, very noisy! The turkey burger was, well a turkey burger. Good, but nothing special. The chips were great! Obviously made on site, chrisp on the outside but still soft on the inside and not greasy. They have deep frying mastered! The place is large, noisy and clean with lots of TVs and a big bar. Probably crowded on game day. I was there at noon on a weekday and it was busy, but not crowded. Service was reasonable and pleasant. Prices are reasonable.

Menu is fairly small. Not a lot of entree options other than sandwiches. The tater tots are too crispy. Sandwich And burger variety is great. Beer draft list is above average.

2nd time there food was good atmosphere is very loud so if you're looking for a quiet place this isn't it service was pretty good our waitress was great but the place is just so busy

Went out to lunch, ate the Crispy Ranch Chicken (thought it would be a wrap but it’s on a burger bun) as well as the fried pickles. Both were absolutely amazing! The secret sauce with the pickles was delicious! Service could’ve been better but we didn’t need for anything (just some water refills towards the end of our meal) and enjoyed our experience!! Bathroom was clean and the atmosphere was amazing!

For this place you definitely need reservations considered I went there on a Thursday night and they were booked out for an hour. I did not wait and instead decided to go to BJ's Brewhouse. This was disappointing considering their spicy Margarita looks really good. UPDATE: this place is AMAZING!!! great food, good staff, friendly and the did is super quick!!! Mixed Drinks are even smashing!! Only thing that sucks is they have BRUNCH til 2:30PM in the weekends.

Came to have dinner and it was absolutely pathetic that the management allowed groups of people to stand and scream during the halftime show , making it impossible for other to enjoy their meals. Waitstaff was no better.

Just had the WORST experience. We went to tavern today and not once did our server ask if we wanted food or drinks within the 4 hours we were there. We waited 20 minutes before getting a food menu which we had to wave him down for. Every time we ordered a drink he walked away half way through the order. Anytime we needed service it took over 20 minutes to get his attention which caused us to wave him over. When we went to order another drink he proceeded to come over and yell at us for waving him over for his attention saying “if you weren't with these girls i would of never served you all night”. We've never had to wave or look for our server in our past times here. We usually have the best service and are checked on frequently. Our server JOSH was very rude and ruined our night and blatantly tried to embarrass us. We spent hundreds of dollars for horrible service just to get yelled at. I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant in my life.
