Chicken Meets Rice

I ordered the Hainan Chicken with chicken rice and chicken broth. It tasted pretty good; the rice is not white rice and it has a different taste and is soft. The hainan chicken is good and I’d recommend to get it without skin if you don’t like to eat slimy-textured things. The chicken broth was the best part and tasted amazing. I also got the teriyaki sauce and it added a nice flavor to the food. On the side there’s a mini salad with cucumber, carrots, and cilantro.

Grilled Chicken with Chicken Rice + Chicken Broth and I'm set! I usually just make the order for pickup and the food is ready within 5 mins. Pretty nuts and I love it. Sharp and friendly workers and the prices are "relatively" still affordable. This place is hidden inside "Eat up! by Ranch 99"

Sleep deprived new mom here. I placed my order at wrong location (Santa Clara). Came to pick up here (Cupertino) and the staff were so kind. They prepared my order without any questions. The food here is always excellent. I think it’s the best Hainan chicken in the area. I highly recommend this place. Just don’t do what I did. Select the right location when placing an online order. :)

What we had ordered: 1) Split Protein Box: Fried Chicken, Tofu, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Broth, and Sweet Chili and Teriyaki Sauce. 2) Grilled Chicken Box, Sticky Rice, Veggie Broth, Teriyaki and Sweet Chili Sauce. My friend and I enjoyed every bite of our meals. The concept of chicken and rice is simple, but the flavors were so delicious and flavorful. Super healthy with protein and a medley of vegetables with the rice. The broths were a good palate cleanser and not salty at all. I had not eaten the entire day, so I was super pleased that this was my first meal of the day! Would love to come here again! :)

Also I chuckled at their “coffee meets tea” drink and had to add it. I’m easily entertained :D Overall a solid place, their estimate for ASAP pickup is always ~20 minutes but I’ve had it ready in ~5 sometimes. At $20 for lunch (incl drink/tax/tip) it is not cheap, but you get your money’s worth in quality. Definitely recommend!

I always love eating Hainanese chicken rice. This brings me back to southeast Asia. Get the classic hainan chicken, savory ginger for the sauce. Food: Excellent Ambiance: Good Service: Good

I think I expected service to be a little bit faster since they mostly to take away chicken & rice boxes. The portion size was modest for the price. Otherwise pretty tasty.

This was our 2nd time to buy their Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken is always cooked well. The rice, although flavorful and tasty is again dry and almost hard. I poured a little of the clear soup that came with it to moisten it a little. Their sauce containers are too small. I’d pay more for the option for a bigger sauce container. The carrots were well soaked in the vinegar dressing but this time, the cucumbers were left unsoaked in dressing. They were tasteless in contrast to the carrots. They were marinated in dressing last time. Did someone forget?

The rice is good. The white meat chicken I ordered, however, does not seem like the traditional Southeast Asian 海南雞， It is more like chicken breasts from Costco rotisserie chicken. To me, that’s ok. I don’t think more sophisticated 海南雞飯 connoisseurs would like it though.

Update 2025: Seems like they don't offer Singapore soy sauce anymore. What a bummer as that is my favorite sauce. Not as authentic without the Singapore soy. Authentic chicken rice, just like the ones I had back in Singapore and Malaysia. We usually order online from its own website and pick it up in the store. If you order from UberEats, the selection is limited, eg, no white rice option.

Food is decent for something quick but it is annoying that they prioritize online order preparation so much. I saw in their screen that 5-10 newer orders served before me. Need to order pickup from doordash or something next time.

That's why I picked your place over the other choices at that location. what I ordered was grilled chicken with rice. What I received was some white rice with 1 plain chicken thigh (cut into chunks) a bit of shredded carrot and a bit of thinly sliced cucumber. That was it. very small, unseasoned and the price with tax and tip was almost $20.

I was disappointed to find that the scallion ginger sauces I received were spoiled. The smell and the taste indicated they were no longer fresh and not safe to consume. I expected better quality and proper handling during storage or shipping. I hope the company takes steps to improve quality control.

The food itself is pretty good. Most of the servers are nice too. I was going a few times a month, but one time there was an employee who was not too nice. There were a bunch of to go/takeout orders waiting at the takeout/food pickup area. This is a place where people commonly check if their food is ready to go. He not so kindly told us to not touch the orders and that when it’s ready we will be called (would be different if his tone was more friendly), or just have a better system where you don’t take out your frustrations on the customer. Both the customer in front of me and I gave pause to the attitude. Anyways I waited for like 20+ minutes before they checked the order on the table again just to realize it was in fact my order. I didn’t go back after that experience. The food is decent but not good enough for me to look for passive aggressive attitudes while on my lunch break. Also not trying to pay money to be talked to like that either.

Hate to write this as this was my go-to spot since it opened. We all got brutal food poisoning.. still suffering after two days. Only variable was they were 20+ mins behind on orders. Usually the food is ready (and good) before the pickup time. Can only assume they were rushing the cook. I hope everyone else who picked up that evening are ok (dec 20th). After throwing up every several hours for 2 days straight i dont think i can ever go back.
