I’ve been going here for many years and would like to acknowledge a significant improvement in time that my order was ready. At 6:30am, I picked up an order for $108 worth of breakfast tacos that I made online the night before at 10:00pm. So practically no warning. Despite “confirmed pickup for 6:30am”, I assumed the system was lying because tacos are never ready that fast, but this time was different. I showed up at 6:28, and by 6:32 I was on the highway with my tacos and sides. Blew my expectations away. I’ll be coming back regularly. Keep kick in’ ass
My husband and I decided to try this location on the way to the outlets. When we entered the store, I noticed an extremely acrid / musty smell that made me want to leave, but my husband did not smell anything. We ordered a bacon and egg taco, a potato and egg taco, a steak taco, a large cheese quesadilla, a large chips and queso, a Dr. Pepper, and a Sprite. All of the food was hot and delicious, and the drinks were cold and refreshing. There is a patio with seating outside, in addition to seating inside the restaurant. The bathrooms are clean.
I ordered delivery and was not satisfied with my order, when I order certain amounts of things they should be included with my meal. I do not have time to go back to the restraunt and get what they leave out that is why I elected for delivery. Staff needs to be more considerate when packing a customers bag with what they have atleast chosen off the menu and is on the receipt.
We have never been here before so I wanted to give it a try. The pictures online from their site definitely make the food look much better than it actually is when you receive it. We had several issues with our pickup order. I paid for extra sour cream on several items and it was not on there. I paid for avocado on my salad bowl and it was not on there. I did call up there and the employee I talked to was very nice and professional and said that you replace it on my next visit, but that's not necessarily where the problems ended. Several of the beef tacos my kids wouldn't even touch because they were so wet with the juice from the meat, as if the maker didn't even bother to drain the liquid off the meat. The tortillas were soggy and liquid was literally pulled in the foil and on top of it. Portions were small. My husband had the street tacos and it just wasn't even enough for a child let alone an adult. The chips were decent, and the queso was good. I will return to get my replacements but after that I'm not sure I will return to this establishment.
I placed a pickup order and was delighted when I arrived and saw no line at the drive thru. That's a first for a Saturday afternoon! I pulled around the drive thru and was asked to wait in the front, yikes. We waited for several minutes, about 10, before I went inside to check on the status. By this point it was already almost 10 min past the time my order was supposed to be ready. They said they were still working on it, so I sat on the bench and waited. About 8 min later, I finally got my order. I ordered the 12 breakfast taco variety box, three potato egg and cheese, and two chorizo and egg with two 8oz red salsas. Everything was in the bag thankfully. But when I got to my destination (a holiday party), we saw that the portions were extremely inexcusably tiny. I got like a spoonful of egg and one potato in each taco. Not cool honestly. I spent almost $40 ($37.89) for the saddest breakfast tacos I've ever seen from here. And my potato egg and cheese tacos did not have any cheese, even though I paid $2 extra for the cheese. Like really? This really is inexcusable Taco Cabana. Are your workers instructed to give portions like this or are they just lazy and not wanting to cook more food? I won't return to this location. The staff was nice, but my pick up order was late and everything else was really disappointing. Please do regular portions and don't rob paying customers. Please get workers that actually read the order and follow it to a T. It can't be that hard...
I remembered why we don't go to the Cypress Taco Cabana any more. Service is slow. My quesadilla was mediocre. The place looks run down. One of the stalls in the women's restroom needed toilet paper during lunch hour. I am surprised it's still open. It looked like 3-4 people were running the restaurant.
I’m here right now at 8:40 PM on 1/23/26. My receipt says I placed my order at 7:19. I have still not received my 1 quesadilla and 2 tacos after almost 1 and a half hours. The restaurant is not busy at all. Check the cameras.
Worst taco cabana experience ever. Don’t really ever go to this location. But every once in a while, I like to pick up tacos for my clients. It took over 30 minutes to make 2 dozen tacos and they were all cold when they were handed to me. None of the bean and cheese tacos had cheese. I think they did this because I was complaining about the time it was taking after 20 mins. Don’t think I will ever go back to this TC
I've been to this Taco Cabana several times. It says it closes at 12am. Ive been by here multiple times just a little past 11pm and its been closed every time. If customers see your hours as inconsistent the levels of your business will also be inconsistent. Do better.
This was the worst Taco Cabana ive ever been to. Fully staffed, and it took almost an hour to get one meal. The meal was supposed to be dine in, but they made it to go. It had maybe a third of what the portions should be, and the rice was crunchy and inedible and the taco meat riddled with huge chunks of hard fat. The crew was apathetic and the bathrooms were unclean, caked in muck, and had bugs actively skittering across the floor. NEVER again. Reporting to local health inspection. Update: I was refused a refund. I have reported this establishment to Harris County health inspection. Someone needs to go in and see what's going on in that kitchen.
Extremely slow. There were only 3 people working in morning, which is when I’d assume they’d have the most customers, so why only staff 3?? It took 30 minutes to get my three bean and egg tacos, and even after that they put bacon instead of beans! And then, the worker calling out the orders would basically whisper the numbers and then just walk away, and there was be no one to ask to confirm whether it’s your order he just called. So anyway I went back through the drive thru to try to correct my order. Little did I know they apparently just don’t want to take orders? I sit behind 2 people for 20 minutes without moving. When I finally get up to order, he decides to just not take my order for another 10 minutes. I get up to the window, and wait ANOTHER 10 minutes. All in all, I went to get 3 tacos and didn’t get home for almost an hour and a half. Absolutely horrible experience
They ALWAYS mess up the order and you always get less of what you spend as I just left there and I asked for extra beans no rice and was served all rice no beans after telling them repeatedly, no rice!!!!! I ordered the fajita plate was supposed to have peppers and onions, or CCQ , I got two small fajita tacos, rolled in foil and two little spoonfuls of rice and nothing else This was a total robbery. They need to rectify this, but they never answered their phones because they hide behind the fact that they are wrong. Answer your phones!!! Here is a picture of the rice that I did not ask for and I told them 3 to 5 times no rice only beans
I would give 0 stars if I could. We used to live in Cypress and went to Taco Cabana a few times and they’ve always been slow. Went to visit Cypress and get Taco Cabana for lunch. Should’ve went somewhere else because we waited about 15-20 minutes in the drive thru when they’re not even that busy. It’s ridiculous. The guy at the window was just standing there talking instead of worrying about food getting out. Once we got the food, the flour tortillas were falling apart, probably because they’re so greasy and sat in the container for awhile. This location is absolutely horrible. The only good thing was my microwaved queso. Had to eat our street tacos with a fork because everything was falling apart. Get an experienced manager or shut this location down.
Terrible service. The manager is rude ( male Manager ). Ordered online, picked food up and took it home and the rice and tortillas in the enchiladas were hard. Called and told them and they said ok bring it back. When I went back the manager handed me a cup of rice and 2 tortillas. So they basically made me drive back for a cup of rice. Once I stated that I needed the whole meal remade by now because after all of this time the food is cold I was told no. So I said I wanted a refund and he rudely told me to call customer support because he couldn’t do anything about it. I called and they were perplexed to why he wouldn’t just remake my food. They tried putting me on hold so they could call the store to get them to remake it but I told them no; we were past that and I wanted a refund. They understood and gave me a full refund.
Trash on the floors, outdated/dirty bathrooms, salsa bar missing salsa varieties and not cleaned/maintained. Ordered beer with food and told they cannot serve you beer until food was ready. Food took 30 minutes with only 4 small groups in the place. Beers not brought out with food. Asked twice for beers while eating but they never arrived. Ate and left without getting beers. Employees had dreadlocks and beards but wore no hair or beard nets. Avoid this place like the plague. You are better off anywhere else. Second time in two weeks I’ve been to this location and the doors are open just for them to say they’re only taking drive thru orders. Makes no sense, lock the door and put up a sign if your lobby is really closed. Seems more like lazy workers to me, if you can pass food thru a window you can hand it to me in the perfectly fine lobby. Horrible management is likely the root, since it wasn’t a one time occasion. Won’t be returning.
I love taco cabana but this is the worst location i've ever been to the reviews are all true. I thought my food was slow at about 15 minutes when i was the only order in the dining room maybe there were some people in the drive thru but judging by the reviews and the other pissed off people that ordered after me i feel like i got pretty speedy service from this location. They forgot my queso i ordered with my meal though and put the wrong sauce on my enchilada and forgot my tortillas which were cold when he gave them to me after i asked. It's a shame cause like i said i love taco cabana and i hope they don't shut it down but this location definitely needs some new management that fires all the crap employees that work here and hires and trains better and maybe puts in some longer hours actually working on the line consistently setting an example for their employees, demanding better performance and faster cook times before they run off the rest of their customers and do have to close down. I realize its hard to find good employees willing to work for the wages they probably pay but other places find them its about hiring better and raising your standards of what you expect from them or firing them because they are running this business into the ground. I'm sure the demographics in the area make it a challenge.
Man I don't know what it is about this place but the food and service here is always awful. 100% of our orders something will be incorrect. The food is always subpar like a toddler cobbled it together, dropped it on the floor then stuffed it into its packaging. Don't bother telling them you want any of the sauces they will forget it 100% of the time. Also don't expect it to be served with any semblance of expediency. I think they literally put effort into how slow they can possibly move here. Some of the absolute slowest service I've ever seen for some of the worst quality cooked and assembled food I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing. Do yourself a favor, just go somewhere else. Anything is better than throwing money down the toilet trying to get a decent quesadilla or burrito from here.
This place should be SHUT DOWN! Either change management or shut it down! I ordered via mobile app, so I wasn't aware of what I was about to endure. It was the closest location to me at the time. First of all, the restaurant smelled like a dirty dish rag. The floor was so sticky. I literally stuck to the floor. I had to wash the bottom of my shoes when I left. There were only 2 women working there. The food was disgusting! I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla. I received a double cheese quesadilla with a little chicken on the edges to fool me until I opened it. I'm not even sure if that was chicken! There was no pico de gallo on it at all (and, yes, I did order it). The cheese was so thick that it made me sick. See the attached pictures. I have been running to the bathroom since I ate there. DO NOT EAT HERE! SAVE YOUR STOMACH! IT'S NOT WORTH IT! DEAR HEALTH INSPECTORS: SHUT THIS RESTAURANT DOWN PLEASE!
My mother and I decided to stop here before shopping the strip for lunch. Upon arrival we waiting about 10 minutes for someone to come up to the front to take our order then an additional 15-20 for our food to be ready. When the food was arrive, the ground beef tasted sour and as if it was cooked in old grease. The street tacos that took an additional few minutes to come out, arrived COLD. The staff seemed to be yelling at each other and arguing. I’m not sure why the inside of the restaurant smells like bathroom and a bit musty as well. The drink station looks like it had not been cleaned not maintained as they were out of multiple things. I truly wish management would take a little more notice in employees as well as the upkeep of the inside. I truly hope that over time they take consideration that many people do love taco cabana.
I cannot believe this location. There was basically no meat in my quesadilla. If I knew I needed to pay for extra I would have b/c there’s no meat all around the top & a super thin layer of cheese. You can barely call this a quesadilla seeing how it’s mostly a dry tortilla that doesn’t taste cooked at all. Then the sopapillas look & taste like they were sitting out & refried in oil & have very little cinnamon sugar. I have never had this experience from the location on Clay Rd. so I’m extremely appalled by how disgusting & skimpy this food was. The review on the other 2 meals: The carne asada had tough meat & the Mexican pizza was smaller than Taco Bell & thin & the shell was stale. Very upsetting.
