Valentine’s Day dinner at Montaluce Winery & Restaurant was exactly what it should be. The setting is one of its strongest assets. The property is expansive, well maintained, and clearly designed to slow you down rather than rush you through a meal. For a moment, it feels less like North Georgia and more like a hillside somewhere in Italy. The grounds are worth mentioning on their own. It is also the same location where the Netflix series His & Hers was filmed, which makes sense once you see it in person. It looks good on camera, but it also works as a place to actually sit, eat, and enjoy an evening. The service was a strong point. Our waiter, Jacob, was attentive, professional, efficient, and genuinely kind. The entrées felt polished and thoughtfully executed, clearly aiming for a more upscale dining experience. The price point reflects that intention and aligns with the setting, service, and overall atmosphere. Worth the visit if you’re in town.
Montaluce Winery was the perfect setting for our Galentine’s celebration! From the moment you arrive, the property transports you straight to Italy — breathtaking views, stunning architecture, and an atmosphere that feels both elegant and inviting. Every single staff member was impeccably trained, incredibly friendly, and genuinely gracious. You can tell hospitality is taken seriously here, and it makes the entire experience feel special. The wine was absolutely delicious, the food was amazing, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. Whether you’re planning a girls’ day, a date, or a special celebration, Montaluce Winery delivers on every level. We can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful Restaurant and Winery! The setting of the tables to the view of the vineyard. The food was delicious! Our waitress was great! Ellie was very kind and never let us wait on a refill or need for anything. Highly recommend to give this place a visit.
Absolutely phenomenal experience! We started with the tour and tasting with Bri. Not only was she an amazing host and funny as heck, but a wealth of knowledge about the process and history. She also has a passion for the growth of the local North GA wine culture and shares her excitement for its future. During the tour, she got to know us a little and discovered some of our likes and dislikes so when it came time for the tasting, she knew exactly what to share with us. She was absolutely ON POINT. For dinner, we had an early reservation, but it turned out to be perfect timing as the sun set right as we were finishing our meal. The environment was perfect as we watched as the light settled across the vineyard while we took our last sips of wine. Our server, Ellie I think her name was, shared the right amount of energy and space. Always smiling when she approached the table, her service and attentiveness was perfect. We did not interact with management, but you can just tell it is a very well run establishment. Would HIGHLY recommend the full experience. We will most definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food and drinks were perfection along with the atmosphere. The views are gorgeous! Our server, Jackson, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The manager, Ray, came by several times to check on us and had suggestions for everything. We will most definitely be back!
Montaluce winery is absolutely worth a visit. The views are stunning, the property is beautiful, and the wines are quite good. Definitely worth trying all of their wines and opting for a wine flight whenever you visit — it’s a great way to explore their offerings. The Italian restaurant on-site serves tasty food — I enjoyed the pizza and pasta — but the pasta portion size felt quite small for the price, which made it feel a bit overpriced. During fall and winter, the bonfire setup adds a very cozy and inviting touch, making the experience even more enjoyable. There’s also an upstairs restaurant which looked decent, though I didn’t get a chance to try it this time. Overall, definitely worth exploring for the wine, views, and overall experience. The property is also a popular spot for photoshoots, and it’s easy to see why — it’s absolutely beautiful.
I went with a groups for the wine hike. Our guide and server, Jake was wonderful. Very patient and informative. He took our pictures and pointed out interesting facts about the vineyard as we walked. During the wine tasting, he helped us select wines we liked and suggested good food parings. The vineyard was so beautiful and the wine was delicious. We all had a great time.
Plan your visit to Montaluce soon as possible. This Winery nestled in Northern Georgia is fantastic! A Sunday brunch at the Main Dining room was magical. The Main dining room has the option for outdoor seating on the second floor patio overlooking the vineyard and it was quite breathtaking. Having a reservation is preferred. Make sure you check the weather first and ensure you dress appropriately so you can traverse the grounds after your meal. For the brunch portion my fiancé and I ordered the Italian Breakfast then followed with our entrees the Ribeye & Eggs (added Home fries too) and the French toast. Make sure to order a bottle of wine with your meal as it comes straight from their vines. The Apple Wine is a huge recommendation.
While visiting the Lake Lanier area in October we discovered this wonderful winery. We truly enjoyed taking in the beautiful views while sipping on a nice glass of wine along with some delicious pizza from the wood fired oven. This place also has a full bar where JA handcrafted one of the best mojitos ever , using only fresh ingredients. We would definitely recommend Montaluce Winery & Restaurant.
My husband and I went there on a Wednesday evening. Apparently this is the best time to visit. There was no crowd, so we got to experience the beauty of this establishment. Kevin was the best!!! He alone sold us from the beginning. He made our wine tasting experience memorable and entertaining. We bought a bottle to go. That's how good the wine is. Now the food....I am still dreaming of the salmon crostini. My husband is still dreaming of his steak. The pork tacos were cooked to perfection. Montaluce was an experience i will never forget.
I visited the winery yesterday and it was such a wonderful experience. The pizza was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of flavors, and the bread was soft, fresh, and baked to perfection. The wines were outstanding, each one with its own unique taste that paired so well with the food. The setting itself made everything even better—cool, calm, and peaceful, with a beautiful atmosphere that feels both cozy and refreshing. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy the moment, and really take it all in. Whether you’re spending time with friends, relaxing with family, or looking for a romantic spot for a date, this winery is a perfect choice. To finish, I tried the tiramisu it was light, perfectly sweet, and so good .I’ll definitely be going back.🍷🥰🥰
We had an amazing time here. Make sure to book a reservation while you wine taste. Everything was delicious and Kyla was the best waitress, very attentive and recommended the candles at the gift shop and delicious food! Such a good time, can’t wait to come back next time we visit!
We had reservations (recommended), and were seated as soon as we entered. Were pleased to have a table by the windows to take in the gorgeous views. We enjoyed the pork chop and chef's special, and both were absolutely delicious. Dessert was coffee truffle, and would definitely have again. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall best dining experience (food, service, atmosphere) I've had in awhile. We were traveling, but this is on our list of "must do" if we return.
Montaluce Winery has breath taking views! Felt like we were in Italy. We came at 4pm on Labor Day and it was not busy. Ireland gave amazing service. I recommend her to anyone! She was super sweet, accommodating, and gave out great wine recommendations, which I truly appreciate. Shout out to the friendly staff as well! This place is beautiful and their wine tasting was really good compared to another winery that I usually go to. We would love to come back again. Thanks for a great time!
Enjoying the long weekend in pure gold. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Dahlonega offers stunning mountain vistas, roaring waterfalls and bubbling streams, and luxurious, Tuscan-inspired estate vineyards like Montaluce. “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King Jr.

Traveling most of the world, eating an amazing restaurants everywhere this restaurant absolutely gets a 10 out of 10. There was five of us for dinner and we had the pork chops, Elk Wellington, Whiskey, salmon, Bolognese, and Ribeye. Five spectacular meals there were absolutely perfect. The wine was superb, and the dessert was out of this world! I can’t imagine why anybody wouldn’t want to eat here multiple times on your visit to this beautiful area.
We simply loved our experience at the Montaluce! The place is magical, the views are amazing, and the food was excellent! It's a short drive to North Atlanta and only a few minutes to Downtown Dahlonega. We will definitely be back very soon!
We did the Valentine’s Day hike experience and it was amazing ! Our tour guide Jake did a great job. Wine was good the views were beautiful and it was a great celebration.
Came across this location while winery hopping in Georgia. It's an absolutely beautiful place. The scenery is gorgeous, and a perfect place for pictures. The wine is very good, the food is to die for. All in all, this is a great spot for a romantic get away, or just a nice dinner, or just a place to take some great pics.
Montaluce is absolutely gorgeous! The drive there has a fantastic view and the outside looks like you’re in Italy! The food is amazing and definitely recommend the pizza and adding toppings to it. Ashley was my server and she did not miss a beat to answer my questions and made sure the food was executed in a timely manner.
Had an amazing experience at the winery. Enjoyed a couple of their in house wines, was able to take in a breathtaking sunset over the vineyard and mountain. Ana & Adam provided excellent food recommendations and wine pairings at the outside bar as well as amazing service. Looking forward to coming back with my girlfriends on a future visit to Dahlonega!
I recently visited this winery for their Wine 101 experience, and it exceeded all expectations! I went in hoping to expand my general wine knowledge, and Brie, our sommelier, made that happen in the most enjoyable way. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the learning experience both fun and approachable. The tour itself was lovely—the grounds are absolutely stunning and well-maintained, making for a beautiful backdrop to the day. During the tasting, I genuinely enjoyed every wine we sampled, and we even ended up purchasing a couple of bottles to take home! Dinner was another highlight. While there was a bit of a wait for our food, it was well worth it—everything was cooked to perfection and served hot. The flavors were incredible, and the service throughout the meal was attentive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire day here and are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking to learn, relax, and indulge in great wine and food!
The ambiance was beautiful. We accidentally scheduled our wine home for the following weekend but we were still able to do a wine tasting. The wine tasting was decently priced for being able to taste 5 wines. Our server was fantastic, I wish I remembered her name but she knew the wines and menu very well. The hostess was very accomplished for us and our schedule mishap and double checked to make sure we were able to cancel our reservation. Would return here again!
Great dinner, wine, & service. Stunning vineyard & restaurant....Focaccia Bread was excellent. Loved the oil & balsamic vinegar. Greek Salad with Chicken was well seasoned with nice greens. The Tagliatelle Bolognese was a lot bigger than I thought, and outstanding.
This is a wonderful place! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is beautiful, and it’s perfect for dinner—just make sure to make a reservation. Great for date nights or a relaxing Sunday lunch. If you like wine, you can even do a tasting!
All three of us had the only vegetarian entree available, Cauliflower risotto with lion's mane mushrooms and stewed tomatoes. It was quite delicious. The restaurant was beautiful, the service was top-notch and the view from the hilltop with spectacular.
Dinner on Saturday night. We had over 25 people in our party, we were sat promptly and Taylor was our server. He was young but on top of his game I assume that his F&B manager Jay did a great job training and coaching him. All the food was wonderful and I recommend the espresso martini towers … while they may take some time to prepare (order when you sit) they are well worth it!
This whole experience was a 10/10. The scenery is breathtaking, the food was amazing (tomato soup for lunch), the blueberry red wine is top notch. I bought the last glass, made me extremely sad that I couldn’t buy a bottle. There was even a wedding going on! You can really tell that they take care of the place. We spent ALL day here, we really enjoyed ourselves.
First time here. Beautiful Fall scenery. Extensive wine tasting selection. Great Italian inspired restaurant. Asked a fellow behind the bar to put a game on the TV for me. Turns out that he is the head honcho, Matthew. Wonderful experience, sure to return.
We enjoyed a fabulous private tasting and tour of the winery. Brie was incredible, very knowledgeable about the winery and wines and made the experience!! If you are in Dahlonega you need to make not to miss this winery and the restaurant is ALWAYS great!!
Our favorite dining spot in the area! The grounds are just absolutely stunning, and we've never had a less than amazing meal there. I recommend making a reservation and asking to be seated outside if you want beautiful sunset views. A word of warning- service is very slow. Honestly, we've just come to expect it. It's not enough for me to take a star off, just a minor inconvenience. (Pics are from 4 different occasions! Such a beautiful restaurant. 😍)
I recently visited Montaluce for my birthday with 5 of my closest friends and had an amazing time! The vineyard, landscape and architecture were absolutely stunning. I would say the star of the show goes to our server Ella who made my birthday so special. She was extremely attentive and sweet and definitely a human you’d love to run into again! The trip to Northern Georgia was very worth it!
Absolutely stunning experience at Montaluce Winery & Restaurant! The views are simply breathtaking — rolling hills, vineyards, and the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing getaway. The wine was exceptional, and every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. You can truly feel the care and passion put into everything here. We’ll definitely be back!
Went to celebrate a friends wedding this afternoon, we aren’t particularly used to places quite so nice but our server Ellie was incredible, she explained pairings gave us honest recommendations without belittling our limited knowledge. We would absolutely dine here again for a special occasion and it was truly an amazing experience because Ellie was so gracious and kind throughout all of our many questions!
A Perfect 10/10 Experience! The weather and vineyard grounds were absolutely stunning, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable day. The drinks were delightful, the meal was delicious, and the staff at both Montaluce and their sister restaurant next door were warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. It truly felt like we had been transported to Tuscany. I will most definitely be returning!
We visited today for the wine hike tour, and I must say, it was amazing! Jake was incredible. We did the 10:00 AM tour, and he kept us engaged and entertained while we waited for all the guests to arrive. The hike itself was a little scary at times, but Jake made it so much fun and checked on all of us throughout to make sure we were doing okay. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t crazy about the wines, but girl , the food… oh my goodnessssssssdssdddsssss!! I feel like Jesus himself was in the kitchen cooking. I had the bread and the ribeye steak, and both were absolutely out of this world. The steak practically melted in my mouth, and the bread was so fresh and delicious I could honestly cry just thinking about it. Thank you all for such a great experience!
My husband surprised me by taking me for our 8yr wedding anniversary and I can honestly say it was the best. Our server, Elijah M and his assistant, Cheyenne W, were AMAZING! They both were super pleasant, attentive, they would check to be sure all was going well and we were enjoying the food etc. The view and the food were just as spectacular. This was our first visit but we already paid and made reservations to go back on March 14th to celebrate my birthday and do the wine tasting. Let’s just say I have never looked forward to my birthday and this year I am. Oh and the charcuterie board was so delicious that I wish I could have taken one home. 😅.
It’s been years since I visited this winery and it was so nice to be here again! Beautiful grounds, great wine and friendly staff! If you need a break from the rat race, look no further, Montaluce will take you to ancient times with its Italian flare!
We visited the restaurant for a Valentine’s Day date night and were taken back by how beautiful it was. The ambiance was perfect and the staff were pleasant and accommodating, even amongst the chaos of a busy night. Our server was Jake and he greeted us quickly and was attentive the whole evening. He made multiple suggestions which were on point. The Cheese and Charcuterie was perfect and paired great with the Apple Wine. The Lamb Chops special was perfectly prepared and the Chicken Satay was delicious. Overall we had an enjoyable evening and will definitely dine here again.
My wife and I went to Montaluce Winery & Restaurant for a weekend staycation to celebrate our 28th birthday, and it was such a memorable experience. The property itself is beautiful—the views of the vineyard are stunning and make you feel like you’re much farther away from the city than you really are. We did the wine hike, which was a really fun way to explore the grounds and taste some great wines along the way. The wine was very, very good—easily one of the highlights of the trip. In the evening, we had dinner and later grabbed pizza and pasta downstairs, and everything we ordered was delicious and satisfying. The ambience throughout the winery and restaurant is cozy, romantic, and relaxed, which made it perfect for a birthday getaway. The staff were all very kind and welcoming, and they helped make the whole experience feel special. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but for a special occasion, the overall experience—views, wine, food, and atmosphere—felt worth it. We’d happily go back again for another celebration or weekend escape.
We had the opportunity to take a drive up to Montaluce to spend the day. We started off with the wine tasting. There were a few wines that were fairly good, some weren’t available and ran out by 2pm. The charcuterie board was tasty. For dinner we ate at the restaurant. Our table overlooked their beautiful vineyard, breathtaking views! Our server was Ellie, she was delightful. We ordered the salad which was nicely dressed. The flat bread was good but lacked flavor. The fish was very tasty, the steak was good, but we couldn’t understand why they didn’t keep it whole and wonder whether we received the whole amount. The pistachio encrusted lamb was brought out undercooked. They promptly took it back and we were able to try something else. All of the desserts were delicious. It turned out to be a beautiful day and experience with friends.
I’ll be honest — my last visit to Montaluce left me disappointed. It’s such a beautiful place, and I hated to see it slipping downhill with poor service. This time, though, was a completely different experience. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and the view was just as stunning as ever. It really felt like the team had listened to feedback and brought the magic back to match the beauty of the setting. Here’s hoping it stays that way — Montaluce truly deserves it. 🍷🌿
Went here for Christmas Eve and expected more. It was a group of 5 of us and the bartender was amazing but everyone else including the manager was horrible. 4 dinner plates came out an we had to wait 20 minutes for the 5th persons pizza so everyone ate cold food. Manager shrugged his shoulders an said nothing. Great views an ambience but the food was meh.
The winery is absolutely stunning! From the main restaurant to the trattoria to the outdoor space—it’s beautiful all around. I’m not the biggest fan of their wines, but overall I still enjoyed the visit. The only downside was the ordering system, which felt a bit confusing since different spaces have separate menus and options.
We are repeat customers and drive over an hour to get here and it’s always been fabulous. Tonight we were celebrating my husband’s birthday and made the reservation for dinner well in advance. We were dismayed to find that the tasting room was closed due to a wedding reception as we had planned to arrive a little early to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. After waiting until the exact minute of our reservation we were taken upstairs and seated at the worst possible table. Next to the bar and path to the bathroom with zero view. Our server was very nice and we ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy. We then ordered a starter and our entrees. Within just a few minutes (being served too fast is always a red flag) our entrees arrived prior to our starter. My pasta was lukewarm but edible. My husband’s lamb chops were overcooked and ice cold. After he sent them back our appetizer arrived and it was very good. It took a good 15 minutes for the lamb chops to be served the second time and by then I was done with my entree. Our server was sincerely apologetic as was his manager. I am so glad I didn’t bring first time guests to this visit. It was sorely disappointing. I will think twice before making the drive here again and will definitely call to make sure there is no wedding on the day I want to visit.
Beautiful venue but the service is poor. Waiting to get a servers attention just to be told to walk ourselves over to the bar area and ask for a plate is not tasteful. Wine is delicious and food menu is to par . I have been three times over the last 2 years and sadly every time is like this. I was told that the best way to enjoy this place is as soon as they open. For refrence we were a group of 4 and stayed from 1:30 to 3 pm on a Saturday. In November. After standing at the bar area to ask for a second bottle and being ignored twice over, we decided to leave.
Montaluce Winery offers breathtaking scenery that makes for a beautiful day with friends and family. We had reservations and were able to relax and enjoy our table for hours, which added to the charm of our visit. The wine tasting experience was enjoyable, and the selection was great. However, the customer service left much to be desired. We spent a significant amount of time waiting at the bar and felt ignored by the staff. It wasn’t until we involved the manager that the situation improved. While the ambiance and wine were lovely, the service could definitely use some improvement.
This was a very disappointing experience. We are here on our honeymoon. The only positive was our waiter, who was kind and clearly trying his best. When we arrived with reservations, the hostess told us she needed us to wait around while she sat another party that just walked in with no reservation. Once seated we were not acknowledged for about 10 minutes and our table was incredibly sticky. Our waiter tried to wipe it down and then spoke with the manager, who told him to tell us it was “part of the table” and that they were planning to refinish the tables. We were not offered another table and nothing was done to resolve the issue. We ended up asking to keep our menus as placemats so we wouldn’t stick to the table. The food was also disappointing. My ribeye had a large amount of fat. My husband ordered the bolognese, which arrived with no meat and thick, heavy fettuccine noodles. Dessert was brought out in a bowl with a dirty, smeared rim. When it was placed on the table, our waiter said he’s sorry and it looked like a crime scene and joked that it matched the sticky table. Not once was a manager ever brought over to our table or even concerned with our experience. The restaurant itself looked unclean. The wall behind us appeared stained and like a fireplace blew up on it, and the windows were foggy and dirty. Our total was $146, and the experience was absolutely not worth the price. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Let me start with the good part. This place is beautiful, restaurant, location, views, is perfect. We came on 10/03/25, we ate at the restaurant, spent about 275.00. Food was fair, we asked the server for a bottle of wine, and she took her sweet time (20 minutes). After eating we went outside with our bottle of wine, sat down to enjoy the view, then another server came and asked us if we were being served, and we replied ''we just ate at the restaurant, we're hanging out here'' and he said ''Oh well this table is reserved so ya'll have to leave in an hour''. I WAS LIKE EXCUSME ME? There's is like 20 other empty tables here. The server could at least offer us to move to another table or the bar. Customer service at this location have 0 out of 10. I'm sorry. The owner need to give some couching to these servers.
