Cru Food & Wine Bar - Avalon

Went to Cru for an afternoon glass of wine and appetizer. The meatball appetizer was amazing with perfectly crusty toast points ! I have had their Janz sparkling rose before so was an immediate order! Went back that evening (after visiting with family) for a glass of red to nightcap ….spoke with the Manager “Chris” and struck up an amazing conversation. Asked for a recommendation for any wine recommendation in the establishment and after asking my a few questions picked out the most amazing Primitovo/Malbec blend !!! Could not have chosen anything close this perfect wine !!! Bought 3 bottles to bring back to NC. Wish I lived closer to frequent this great spot more often. Give CRU a try…..you will NOT be disappointed! We go every time we come to the Atlanta area. Try their amazing atmosphere and food/beverages. 💥

Andrew is the best. He always has the best wine and food recommendations. He always takes care of us and makes us feel welcomed. Would definitely give cru and him a try.

A lovely evening out. I don't have a great knowledge of wine, but Johnny was a wealth of information. We plan to come back next time we're in town.

Our first time here was amazing! Sam recommended the Sardon Tempranillo and the Wagyu Beef Skewers. Both were 10/10, and the service was the best I’ve ever had in Avalon. Sam is the man and we will definitely be back

Had an amazing experience here this Wednesday. Sam, our server, was amazing. He was professional and attentive. The food and wine were also 10/10 I recommended the margarita pizza. If you try it out make sure you get Sam as your waiter!

Had a wonderful first time at Cru today. The food was amazing, and the wine was fantastic. Ben helped us pick out the perfect bottle, and the pear and gorganzola was amazing as well!

I don’t usually drink, but I really enjoyed everything we ate. The total was about $240 before tip for five people, and everyone except me had wine. The goat cheese balls were surprisingly good, almost like warm cream cheese. The meatballs were perfectly seasoned and came with crunchy, delicious toast. The margherita pizza was great and came with a bottle of wine. The shrimp and calamari mix was excellent, and the chocolate fondue with pound cake, pineapple, strawberries, marshmallows, and bananas was a perfect finish.

I came into cru and Andrew was immediately welcoming. He made sure I was constantly taken care of and had a smile on my face. Amazing customer service and welcoming.

I had an amazing experience here and it was all thanks to my server Johnny! I let him know I was a bit out of my element and he made me feel very comfortable immediately and every recommendation he made was perfect and exactly as he described. I WILL return as soon as im back in GA!!

Cry offers a blend of classic elegance and rustic taste. Thier prices are fair for the area which makes dining here a no brainer. I do recommend you ask for Andrew if you get a chance. He is not only patient with new diners, but for the veterans he has the memory to boot. Feels like a second home. Thank you for providing excellent service!

I sat at the bar where I got my drinks given to me by a bartender named Ben. he was super sweet and cracked jokes with me the entire time I was there. Just overall great company! He also recommended me a honey goat cheese appetizer and they were phenomenal. the vibe of the place was also pretty welcoming and I really enjoyed my time there. I hope to get service from him again the next time I go!

What an amazing experience it is to enjoy an evening at Cru in Avalon! A well put together wine selection, something for any taste. The food menu is phenomenal, you can’t go wrong with anything you pick. The bar service is top notch, Andrew is always right there if you need anything, great service. We look forward to repeating our great experience.

The service at Crú is absolutely unbeatable. Andrew went out of his way to ensure our experience was phenomenal! He was very knowledgeable on the wines, and made great recommendations. On top of that, the food was delicious! Everything was extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth stopping by next time you’re near by!

I had a great time here! I tried the wagyu meatballs and peppers pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. My server, Ben, was amazing and incredibly attentive. He gave great wine recommendations and was such a pleasure to be around. I would absolutely recommend him if you decide to stop by.

My sister and I decided to stop in for some wine and a snack before going to watch a movie and had such a wonderful experience! Sam took excellent care of us! Not only was the food delicious, but Sam’s service and all of his wine recommendations were spot on. We also had such a great time chatting with the manager, Chris, who came by to check on us during our meal. We will absolutely be back to see them and have some more of their delicious wine very soon!

Andrew is honestly amazin. I came in and was overwhelmed with the wine selection. Andrew was able to recommend a great wine for me and perfect for my taste. He was also amazing with recommending the right food to go with the wine. I would definitely recommend him and Cru. Great way to end the night.

Fantastic wine selection and great service. Johnny is the best server in the business. He even complimented me on the shape and supple tone of my calf muscles. We laughed, we cried, and I told him he had hair worthy of the Greek pantheon.

Went on a Thursday around 4 PM with my sister and her husband before going to see a movie. I have visited Cru many times but this experience was review worthy. Our server, Sam, was EXCELLENT. He was equal parts friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He made a genuine connection with us without being pushy or overbearing. His wine knowledge and food recommendations were perfect! The Waygu beef skewers are a must try! The manager Chris is incredible! You can tell he is truly passionate about wine and making sure our experience was memorable. They have an amazing and diverse selection of wine and know what they are selling. 10/10.

We came and got the wine and pizza deal and it was great! We had Andrew and his service was amazing. Very personable and kind. My partner and I don’t live in the area but we will definitely come back just for him.

If you are looking for a night filled with fun and honest conversation, this location is the place. Ben was our waiter and not only was he purpose driven in his own way, he was kind and brought a new life to the table as he was part of the family. Never hesitate to come here, ask for Ben and you’ll be given a special treat.

Andrew was the best ever!! Stop in to explore new wines and ask for Andrew. He will give you great advice on different wines. My husband and I absolutely love hanging out at the bar and learning from him!!!

We had a wonderful time at CRU. The lady who waited on us was knowledgeable in both wine and food items; as a wine connoisseur thats much appreciated. The weather was nice, the service was prompt. All in all it was a great time. My only complaint and reason for 4 🌟 instead of 5 is that the price was a bit high considering the portions that were received. Still no real complaints though.

Sad to say my visit to Cru was disappointing today. We got “greeted” by our server, with a look and a shrug & a “are you ready?” waiting for our drink orders as we just sat down 2 seconds prior. No name, no hello or how are you. Kinda threw me off but whatever, we got our drinks and charcuterie and we ordered some honey & fig jam, believing that should be apart of our $26 board which barely had anything on it for the price and we got our check and it was an additional $6 for both, feel like we should’ve been told that before he brought it over. Anyway, disappointed by un-personable service for the price tag.

Service was excellent, but the wine selection and food could use some improvement. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Full marks there. The wine selection was rather limited, in my opinion, for what is labeled a wine bar. More particularly, there is not much depth of selection for any given region. The cooked food was not very good. The wantons were one dimensional, tart. The pizza was a bit doughy. Maybe it was an off night, which would seem the case from the other reviews. However, given the other restaurant offerings so close by, I don't think I'll return.

Food took an hour to arrive. One waitress came to ask what our order was again because "the tickets got mixed up". 10 minutes later the original waitress comes and tells us that the salmon i ordered got over cooked and they were working on it. Once we got the food, shrimp on my wife's caesar salad was fried instead of grilled like we asked and my salmon dish was not very good. Over all its a nice place to have a nice view at a patio in the middle of the mall but food and service not so well. Waitress was very nice.

I've been here before and enjoyed the food, but today was a terrible experience. We went inside and asked to be seated outdoors. The host told us to sit anywhere and he'd follow us out. We went outside and grabbed a table, but the host did not reappear. A few moments later a waiter with red hair and a goatee (wish I knew his name) came up to us, looking very annoyed and told us it would be 15 minutes before they got to us bc they were short staffed outside. I think he thought we'd just seated ourselves, so I explained we were told to take a seat. He seemed extra annoyed and asked who told us that. He huffed off. We waited a good 10 min with him not making eye contact or looking our way- no menus or water. Nothing. So we left. He was ridiculously rude and I hope it's not an indication of the entire restaurant. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. It was a wine bar serving apps-only at the time. Not sure why he couldn't at minimum get us waters while we waited, or taken a drink order. Doesn't matter if the host messed up. That is not on us.
